Reusing HTML layouts with new flvs

I'm having issues with reusing html layouts for 'newsletter' type pages with updated text and video.  The new flvs don't appear when the updated page is posted to it's unique directory on the client server.
I've narrowed the issue down to a possible problem with the AS_RunActiveContent.js file.  I need force Dreamweaver to create a new one when the layout is updated.  When I'm developing locally, it seems as though the page references the previously created js file.  When I post the preview to my server, the videos play.  But when I post the html page and image folder to new directory on the client server, the flvs disappear.  Copying the old js file to the new directory on the server doesn't work.
How do I force Dreamweaver to create a new java script file when I update the content?  Or is there something else I need to do?
Here's a quick rundown of the process:
Open old html page and save as w new name in new local folder
Update text and flvs (updated flvs by completely removing all content in table cell, not just updating the file name properties)
Upload new folder to my host server
Once approved, send folder to client
Client posts folder to their server - and the flv's dissappear.
Thanks for your help.
Kristen

I'm guessing you're using CS3 or earlier. DW does not create a new .js file if one already exists in a given path, nor does it need to.
I am also guessing that the problem is related to paths. You should probably make all references to that script site-root relative (with the slash in front). ie:
/Scripts/AS_RunActiveContent.js
Then upload the Scripts folder to the root of the site. All files in subfolders will still find that script using with that link, including new folders.
Does that make sense? If not, can you supply a link to one of these problem pages?

  • Weird halo with new FLV compressor

    We are creating a video with a transparent background and putting it on yellow in Flash.
    The new Flash compressor is creating a strange "halo" around the subject. We can't figure out what is doing this. Even in the compressor preview in After Effects with the black alpha channel shown, we're not seeing this weird halo. Not until it's dropped into Flash.
    Here's what it looks like when put into Flash: http://i.imgur.com/oBQNT.jpg
    There are some issues with the project that disallow us to try other alternative methods:
    - The nature of the Flash behind the video dictates the FLV must be transparent and put on a yellow background in Flash. We cannot have a background in the FLV, it must be transparent.
    - There are elements in the video that look terrible when using the old FLV compressor. Oddly enough, the odd halo doesn't exist in that compressor.
    Thoughts? We haven't found a work around and it's driving our team nuts!

    We were also trying Flash's compressor after exporting to an .mov from After Effects, and it gave us the same result.
    Btw, this is all in CS4.

  • Is non-html possible with new webmail interface?

    I would like to us plain text, or at least not-html (some recipients have mailers that don't parse it well) and can't find the option in the options or compose interface.  Is there a way?  The old interface had it available when composing.  In a related question, is there a way to get the classical interface back?  This link in verizon's support pages suggests yes without giving the method but tech support didn't think so.

  • Best way to reuse a layout with different values?

    I want to reuse the code of the <div id="placeInfo"> on the next page (place.xhtml). I simplified it's code for this question.
    Of course I can use <ui:include> for <div id="placeInfo"> but on the next page I would need e.g. #{myBean.selectedPlace.name} instead of #{place.name}.
    Any smart idea how to do this efficiently?
    <ui:repeat value="#{myBean.places}" var="place">
        <p:commandLink action="place?faces-redirect=true" ajax="false">
            <f:setPropertyActionListener value="#{place}" target="#{myBean.selectedPlace}" />
            <div id="placeInfo">
                #{place.name}
                #{place.openHours}
            </div>
        </p:commandLink>
    </ui:repeat>

    Research composite components. Its a little cumbersome to do these things in jsf to be honest. I just copypaste the xhtml content most of the times. Its not like it will save you time to turn this into a reusable component.

  • Xth data - updated with new records in exit- layout does not show new recor

    Hi ,
    I have updated Xth_data table in an exit function with new set of records. I can in debug mode in the exit function 204 records in Xth_data and after the logic 408 records. But somehow , when the layout comes up , it comes up with only 204 records instead of 408. I have populated all the key fields of xh_data with characteristic value. But still these are missing in the layout. Please let me now if you guys have come across simillar situation.
    204 records are read , 0 of them were changed, 276 generated.
    Thanks
    JC

    Hi,
    Surely that the new record do not match with the selection of your package.
    You should execute the function withj the trace, so you can access the full log.

  • BUG - Omniportlet 10.1.4 with HTML layout ??

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create an OmniPortlet instance which is based on a SQL statement
    2. Use the following SQL
    select :BIND1 as MY_BIND1 from dual
    3. Define the bind variable BIND1 as tied to ##Param1##
    4. Give Param1 a default value= "MY_PARAM"
    5. Step through to the LAYOUT portion of the wizzard and choose HTML layout
    (10.1.4)
    6. Use the following layout for the header
    <TABLE BORDER='0' WIDTH="100%">
    <TR CLASS='PortletSubHeaderColor'>
    <TH CLASS='PortletHeading1'>MY_BIND1</TH>
    <TH CLASS='PortletHeading1'>##Param1##</TH>
    </TR>
    7. Use the following layout for the repeading section
    <TR CLASS='PortletText1'>
    <TD>##MY_BIND1##</TD>
    <TD>##Param1##</TD>
    </TR>
    8. Default all other sections.
    The results show as
    MY_BIND1 MY_PARAM
    MY_PARAM
    There is no data showing in the REPEATING section for the ##Param1##
    placeholder.
    Is this a known bug or a new thing?
    Regards,
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
    This is a know issue, the bug has already been logged. Parameters(param1, param2 etc) works only on Non Repeating Heading Section, but not in Repeating Section and Non Repeating Footer Section.
    Thanks,

  • How to TAG Page Layouts with a new property com.widgets.country

    Hi,
    I'm running EP6 SP14.
    I am attempting to filter iView content for the first time.  I am following an SDN article on how to do this.  Unfortunately, I am not able to understand and complete one of the steps in the exercise.
    How do you go into the portal and "tag" a page layout with a new property called "com.widgets.country".  Is this performed from the "Content Administration" role?  Do you right-click on some field?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
    Can you provide the SDN article you are referring to.
    To add a property top a page layout, generally, you would add this property to the portalapp.xml file in the component-profiel section for the layout.
    You could also do it after the fact by using the PCD Inspector.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is it now possible with new version of Adobe Muse to create and HTML Newletter.

    I am in a bit of a rush because I have an e-blast to prepare for a customer and I was wondering if it is it now possible with new version of Adobe Muse to create an HTML newletter? I have never created an html newletter before, if it is not possible with muse, and I do not code, would mailchimp be the best choice. If it is possible with muse, would it be possible to please provide me with the steps or a tutorial?
    Thank you.

    The quick answer is, no. The output of Muse is designed to work with popular web browsers on desktops and devices. It relies on many features of HTML that are not supported by e-mail readers.

  • Setting html content with setContent() does never show images

    I've an application set sets dynamically generated html-content in a webview node by using the webengine.setContent() method. This generated html content uses image-tags.
    Here's the problem: the image is not displayed. I tried all variations (absolute url like "http://localhost/c:/test.png" or "file://c:/test.png", relative urls like "test.png" with png in jar-file).
    Anyone out there who has a workaround for me? I appreciate any comment.

    one non-working apple <img src="apple.png"> You loaded the page content with loadcontent, then inside the page content provided a relative url. This is likely an error.
    The question is, what is this url relative to?
    The answer is either likely undefined as no protocol was used to load the page content and so it can't be determined how to load the relative url resource.
    and two non-working peaches <img src="http://localhost/c:/peaches.png">
    You attempted to load content using the http protocol server on the localhost, but you have no such server on the host, so this cannot work.

    <p><img src="camelot.jpg"/></p>
    </body>
    </html>If you want to test this example the camelot.jpg image is downloadable from http://www.timelessmyths.com/arthurian/gallery/camelot.jpg.
    Option 1: The file:// protocol for lookup from the filesystem.
    This is the most straight-forward as it is just based on standard html layout in the filesystem - just place your html and it's relative referenced images somewhere in your filesystem in locations relative to each other - if your browser loads it properly, then your webengine will to if you give it the right file:// path.
    In the case of file:///C:\\dev\\gettingstarted\\timeforgotten.html, timeforgotten.html is placed in c:\dev\gettingstarted and camelot.jpg image is placed in the same directory.
    Option 2: The jar:file:// protocol for lookup from a jar hosted on the filesystem.
    This makes use of the http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/net/JarURLConnection.html to find your resources.
    If your application resources are packaged in a jar file (could be the same jar file as your main application class) then you can reference the jar file through the file protocol, then pick out the resources packaged in the jar file via their relative paths.
    Option 3: The resource:// protocol for lookup based on the classpath.
    This type of resource lookup is the one most Java programmers are familiar with - a classloader is used to load a resource. The pattern is widely used in web application frameworks on the server. But usually the means to do this is via a classloader.getResource() call, not via a URL.
    Java does not, by default, have a URL protocol handler for looking up resources on the classpath, so if you want to do this, it is necessary to create your own protocol and install it.
    The installation function is the commented out line: // URL.setURLStreamHandlerFactory(new HandlerFactory());
    It is a system wide call for the VM and should be called (just once) before any URL Connections are established.
    To get this to work I used a resource handler from http://www.arakhne.org/arakhneVmutils/index.html which included the following classes:
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.resource.Handler
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.resource.HandlerFactory
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.resource.URLConnection
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.ClassLoaderFinder
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.Resources
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.ResourceNotFoundException
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.URISchemeType
      java.org.arakhne.vmutil.URLHandlerUtilDetails on how all this works are in http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/protocolhandlers/ which defines "A New Era for Java Protocol Handlers" by defining a URL handler extension mechanism which is hardly ever used.
    As a final note to my way overly long forum post, when the WebEngine doesn't process the urls sometimes you can get info on what went wrong via the monitoring the loadWorker's exception property, but sometimes I was able to get more complete stack traces by trying to open a connection on a URL to see if I had got the URL correct - for example:
        URL url = new URL("jar:file:///C:\\dev\\javafx\\JavaFXidea\\out\\artifacts\\JavaFXidea_jar!/org/jewelsea/examples/webviewlocal/timeforgotten.html");
        url.openConnection();Anyway, just using the file:// protocol in webEngine.load() will probably accomplish what you need.
    Note that if it is a webstart or browser embedded app, then you'll need to sign it if you want to access the local file system.

  • Repeat with New Reference Image?

    New to Flash, apologies. I'm sure this is an easy hurtle to
    overcome. I've created an 8 second animation (see
    http://www.etchpoint.com/gottint02/home.html
    top bar) that I would like to repeat, but to use a new image and
    new text each time. I'm having a heck of a time copying / pasting
    the layers to maintain the fades and transitions.
    Is there an easy way to set up this animation to repeat a few
    times, each time with a new image+text combo? Can I save out 5
    individual, 8-sec clips and sew them together after the fact? Can I
    set up a template to reuse with new references easily?
    Thanks,
    - Eric

    You can and must use both if you don't want to do it in the db totally.
    You need an association and view link giving you the employees you want to copy and an association from the new department which you use to create the new routes ant copy the values from the existing employees.
    You iterate over the employees you want to copy to the new department. For each of the employees you use the new department, use the assessor to the employees of the new department, create a new record using this assessor and copy the values from the exciting employee. Only the FK is created automatic by the framework.

  • My garage band will not work properly with new lion upgrade..HELP

    My garage band will not work properly with new lion upgrade..HELP
    I have tried to open old session i have done in garage band and many of the effects and instruments I have used will not show up. The system seems to have a bug.

    If the graphical user interface looks broken, that is quite often a problem of corrupted user preferences - have you tried to remove the preferences file, as described in the FAQ
    http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/FAQPages/OddBallProbs.html
    Here is again the short version:
    Quit GarageBand, if it is running.
    Open your User Library in the Finder. It is hidden in MacOS X Lion, so use the Finder's "Go" menu:
    Finder > GO    hold down the "Options" key, until the library appears in the menu, select it.
    In the window that opens, open the folder "Preferences" and remove the file:com.apple.garageband.plist and com.apple.garageband.plist.lockfile
    Then try again to run GarageBand and download the loops.
    The preferences file stores all you user settings that you set using the "Preferences" panel in GarageBand, also the layout of the GarageBand window and the location of your recent projects. You will have to enter these settings again after removing the file.

  • Populating HTML Page with fields from a Report

    Greetings all,
    I think I have finally figured out how to format my question about customizing reports
    I am using the Sample Applicaiton and I created a simple report (PAGE 20) using the DEMO_CUSTOMER table. The simple report shows the CUSTOMER_ID, CUST_FIRST_NAME, CUST_LAST_NAME
    I created a blank page (PAGE 21) with an HTML Region. In the HTML region I have created an HTML Table with Two Columns and 3 rows:
    <table border="1">
    <tr>
    <td>CUSTOMER ID</td>
    <td>rVALUE OF CUSTOMER ID</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>FIRST NAME</td>
    <td>rVALUE OF CUST_FIRST_NAME</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>LAST NAME</td>
    <td>rVALUE OF CUST_LAST_NAME</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    On my report page 20, I created a link from the Customer ID and I wanted to know if I could populate the Table I created on Page 21 with say a P21_CUSTOMER_ID field and when I click the link on page 20 it redirects to page 21 and P21_CUSTOMER_ID = #CUSTOMER_ID# just like I would do for a formatted report. I added items to page 21 called P21_CUSTOMER_ID, P21_CUST_FIRST_NAME, P21_CUST_LAST_NAME
    but I don't know how to get their values into the table that I created. Do I have to make an html form element and reference it? Make fields hidden? Not sure How to populate the table I created with the values that are passed into page 21 and any help would be appreciated. I am sure however I identify the variable I could then just use that same formatting and use Styles and Divs to make the page look like I want and just reference the same way, but unsure of how to do that.
    Any assistance you can provide would be very much appreciated. I am trying to create a report view that looks like a web page with images, and the passed data would be populated throughout the HTML and not in a structured Tabular Format if that makes sense.
    Thanks in Advance
    Wally

    Hi,
    There are more than one ways of doing this.
    Extending what you have done , heres how
    Assumption : You are getting values in P21_CUSTOMER_ID, P21_CUST_FIRST_NAME, P21_CUST_LAST_NAME
    Edit your HTML table , and refer to the P21 items with &P21_CUSTOMER_ID. notation as follows
    <table border="1">
    <tr>
    <td>CUSTOMER ID</td>
    <td>&P21_CUSTOMER_ID.</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>FIRST NAME</td>
    <td>&P21_CUST_FIRST_NAME.</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>LAST NAME</td>
    <td>&P21_CUST_LAST_NAME.</td>
    </tr>
    </table>The other way is to create a Report with Single Row vertical layout template on Page 21 instead of the HTML region.

  • Generate HTML report with ANT

    Hello,
    I'm  new to FlexPMD. I have just generated my firsts reports. I try to generate HTML reports.
    I browse the documentation, this forum and the web and I find informations to :
    - generate documentation with Hudson
    - generate documentation with Maven
    - generate documentation with XSLT pmd.xml -> html
    Ok, I try to keep it simple. So I don't want to use Hudson.
    I'm using ANT, and I currently don't want to install/learn Maven.
    I'm using FlexUnit with ANT. And It's really simple to generate reports :
    <junitreport todir="${report.flexunit.loc}">
                <fileset dir="${report.flexunit.loc}">
                    <include name="TEST-*.xml" />
                </fileset>
                <report format="frames" todir="${report.flexunit.loc}/html" />
    </junitreport>
    I'm really new to FlexPMD, so I don't have currently a big knowledge, but it seems impossible to generate a HTML report just like junitreport. (1 line in an ANT task)
    I test the XSLT transformation found on this forum (thread "XSLT pmd.xml -> html"). It's really cool. But it's seems difficult, for example, to extract the wrong code part and add it to the HTML page.
    So, what is the simpler solution to generate HTML report just with FlexPMD/ANT ?
    Thanks !

    Hello,
    Currently you generate a PMD report with ANT  like this :
    <! -- define taskdef  -->
    < taskdef name="pmd"  classname="com.adobe.ac.pmd.ant.FlexPmdAntTask"  classpath="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-ant-task-${flexpmd.version}.jar">
             < classpath>
                 < path refid="flexpmd.base" />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/commons-lang-2.4.jar" />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-core-${flexpmd.version}.jar" />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-ruleset-api-${flexpmd.version}.jar"  />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-ruleset-${flexpmd.version}.jar"  />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/plexus-utils-1.0.2.jar" />
             < /classpath>
    < /taskdef>
    then generate XML  report like this :
    < pmd  sourceDirectory="${src.loc}" outputDirectory="${report.loc}"  ruleSet="${build.pmd.loc}/rules.xml"/>
    The  XML contains some file nodes :
    < file  name="/Users/user/workspace/AS3_UTILS/src/utils/align/gridAlignSpaceNumber.as">
           < violation beginline="22" endline="22" begincolumn="0"  endcolumn="27" rule="adobe.ac.pmd.rules.naming.TooShortVariable"  ruleset="All Flex Rules" package="utils.align"  class="gridAlignSpaceNumber.as" externalInfoUrl="" priority="5">This  variable name is too short (3 characters minimum, but 1 actually).  Detects when a field, local, or parameter has a very short name<  /violation>
    < /file>
    The  message is in the text node  < violation>TEXT< /violation>
    For  me, we miss an important part of the message : the portion of the "bad"  code.
    It could be very usefull if PMD can generate  something like this :
    < file  name="">
           < violation beginline="" endline="" begincolumn=""  endcolumn="" rule=""  ruleset="" package=""  class="gridAlignSpaceNumber.as" externalInfoUrl="" priority="">
            < description>TEXT< /description>
            < code><CDATA[MY CODE
    MY CODE
    MY CODE]>< /code>
        <  /violation>
    < /file>
    With this, we can  generate "full" HTML report with XSLT transform easily.
    I  understand that it modify the standard XML schema of the output.
    So,  perharps it could be an option like this :
    < pmd fullDescription="true"  sourceDirectory="${src.loc}"  outputDirectory="${report.loc}"  ruleSet="${build.pmd.loc}/rules.xml"/>
    What do you think ?
    Thanks !

  • When I forward an HTML email with embedded graphics to someone, it forwards it as plain text.. this is driving me batty.. how do I forward such mails INTACT??

    I have the latest Thunderbird installed on a new 64-bit Winblows Eight netbook.. fantastic program, but one problem is driving me absolutely batty, and after using the latest Thunderbird for weeks, I simply can't figure out how to fix it..
    I'm on a lot of mfr. and other kinds of mailing lists, like eBay watch list alerts, and so on.. these are not s p a m (although I get plenty of that.. who doesn't).. but lists I WANT to be on..
    Many such emails from those mailing lists are in HTML format with embedded graphics.. I'm not talking about graphic file attachments, but embedded graphics which are coming from the senders' servers, and appear AS a graphic in the email.. sometimes such emails are one huge graphic with hardly any text.. all well and good..
    However, here's the problem.. when I want to forward such an email to a friend, Thunderbird ALWAYS formats it as plain ASCII text.. I know this because I look in the "sent mail" folder, and can see that it has turned an HTML email with embedded graphics into plain ASCII text..
    I absolutely can't figure out how to get it to forward an HTML email with embedded graphics INTACT, so the sender receives it looking the way it looks when I receive it from a mailing list, or an advertiser, or eBay, or whoever..
    Is Thunderbird capable of forwarding an HTML email with embedded graphics INTACT?.. If so, how / where do I turn on that capability?..
    If the capability to do this isn't built into the program, is there an add-on I can install that will give it that ability?..
    I am not new to computers.. but this really has me stumped.. I want to put Thunderbird on my 32-bit Vista laptop and stop using its horrible "Windoze Mail" program, which I've been using for years, and is slower than snot, and has all kinds of other problems..
    So, assuming whoever reads this FULLY understands my question, PLEASE tell me how to get Thunderbird to have the ability to forward an HTML email with embedded graphics AS-IS, so the receiver(s) I forward it to see it exactly the way I see it when I receive it.. if that ability is built in, please tell me how to turn it on.. if that ability is not built-in, please tell me what add-on I need to install to give Thunderbird this capability.. if Thunderbird absolutely can't forward an HTML email with embedded graphics at all, please also tell me that..
    A virtual box of candy and a dozen long-stemmed roses to anyone who can give me a solution that works..
    Thanks..

    Dear Mr. Toad (my all-time favorite ride at Disneyland ;-) ..
    Thanks so much for your detailed reply.. my netbook is in the bedroom, turned off.. I (so far) only use it in the evening, in the bedroom.. I've saved your response, and will try your suggestions, and let you know if they solve the problem I described. I really appreciate you taking the time to post such a detailed reply..
    I can't answer your Thunderbird "configuration" questions, because I'm in the living room, using the crap Vista laptop, on which I plan to install Thunderbird, and then take Windoze Mail out in the street and drive over it a few times.. I'll get back to you one way or the other, and let you know if your instructions solved the problem, or not..
    I don't understand why Thunderbird "out of the box", so to speak, simply doesn't forward HTML emails with embedded graphics, (like Outlook Excess, and Winblows Mail do).. without having to go through those steps. I personally HATE HTML email, but over the years, it's become more and more prevelant.. so it's a problem I must fix..
    Thanks again..
    Harv..
