Reusing JSF Page Code

I have 3 JSF pages which have the same block of Code.
Is there a way I could use to make one JSF page say main.jsp with the main block of code and then use something like the include tag to just reuse and insert the main.jsp in my other 3 pages.
The code is:
<h:form id="frmRR">
    <f:loadBundle basename="com.eds.send.controller.Resource."
                  var="messages"/>
    <tr:panelHeader styleClass="titleText" text="RR"/>
    <tr:panelHorizontalLayout valign="top">
        <tr:panelHorizontalLayout valign="top">
            <tr:panelGroupLayout layout="vertical">
                <tr:panelGroupLayout layout="horizontal">
                    <tr:panelGroupLayout styleClass="columnSpace boldAlignLeft"
                                         layout="vertical"
                                         inlineStyle="width:200px">
                        <tr:outputText value="To:"/>
                        <tr:spacer height="18"/>
                        <tr:outputText value="From:"/>
                        <tr:spacer height="18"/>
                        <tr:outputText value="Subject:"/>
                        <tr:spacer height="18"/>
                        <tr:outputText value="Business:"/>
                        <tr:outputText value="#{messages[\date\']}:"/>
                        <tr:outputText value="PN:"/>
                    </tr:panelGroupLayout>
                    <tr:panelGroupLayout styleClass="normalAlignLeft"
                                         layout="vertical"
                                         inlineStyle="width:350px">

    </tr:panelHorizontalLayout>
</h:form>I want to be able to put this code in a Main jSP and then just include the tag in other JSPs where ever I want the above fields to be populated.
How can this be achieved ?
Thanks

you already are blessed with the rare event of a Sun employee answering a question for you, now don't push it by demanding more. A simple google query can give you all the answers you need. For example this page can give you some hints:

The facelets website also has lots of documentation.

  • Problem with JSF page in reused task flow

    Jdev 11.1.1.4
    I have a main JSF page with an af:paneltabbed.
    The paneltabbed has two af:showdetailItem
    In every showdetailitem there's a region.
    In both regions I have the same fragment taskflow.
    In this fragment task flow there's one page fragment (as a view activity).
    If I'm executing the secondary page fragment in both showdetailitems at the same time, they interfere one each other. That's my issue.
    This page fragment has a backing bean that depending on the value of a selectonechoice, shows or hides several fields.
    If in showdetailitem A I make a selection that displays all fields and then I go to showdetailitem B and make a selection that hides all fields, when I go back to showdetailitem all fields are hidden as in B !
    Is there any procedure in order to make indepedent both page fragments ? (in fact they are the same but executed in to different regions) I don't want instructions like "si1.setDisabled(true)" of one page fragment affect the other.
    The page is quite complex and that's my main reason to reuse it.
    The page flow is Transaction "Alway begin new transaction" and "Share data controls" disabled in order to make them as independent as possible but I don't think this can affect my issue.

    The bean, that I know has Backing Bean scope which is the most limited scope that I know.
    It is a standar bean created with: Design->Page Properties->Component Binding->checking Auto Bind. The one that is usually created in order to map a pages field and then be able to deal with the fields showing or hiding them.
    By the way, in wich xml file is this registered ? I haven't found it. The only thing I have found is an XML comment at the end of the page's source code like this:
    +<!--oracle-jdev-comment:auto-binding-backing-bean-name:AluCertIniBB-->+
    but I don't thing JSF is going to map the page to that bean only with this.
    Now I'm working in the line to stop and restart both task flow when changing the tab of the panelbox. Restarting the task flow every time I lick in one tab should avoid this problem, wouldn't it ?

  • Include jsp/jsf code in a jsf page at runtime

    Hello,
    I have a problem. I must get data from a Firebird db. The data is posted in jsp/jsf
    code. I've tried to get them through a servlet. The problem is that when I include
    result in my jsf page, the code doesn't get compiled.
    If I include code with a <h:outputText> or a jsp action <jsp:include> or a <c:import
    url> the code doesn't get compiled. If I include code with directive <%include> it is
    translated correctly, but include directive accepts only physical files.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks

  • Adding JavaScript Code dynmically to a JSF page

    Hi all;
    I have a JSF page where I have a dropdown list (<h:selectOneMenu). on the cnahgeEvent of this menu a JavaScript code is called and another dropdown list is displayed with populated data (depending on the selection of the first drop down).
    My quesiton is how I can inject the array (of data used by the first dropdown list) (dynamically) . This is because this data is read from the DB and then injected into the JSF page at run time.
    any smart ideas ?

    If you are looking for a dependent dropdownlist you can use AJAX to accomplish your goal. the onChange event binded to the first list can trigger an ajax request to the server and get the list of data that can be used to populate the second list.

  • Can we  have a href tags in jsf page

    hi all,
    I tried inserting a link in jsf page using <a href> tag but when I click it, it is appending the link to contextroot.
    For Example:
    <f:verbatim>
    click here
    </f:verbatim>
    and when I click on it, I see http://www.google.com is appended to my application url after context root like
    http://localhost:9080/Ma/view/India/http://www.google.com
    and I get 404 error. how do I do it without having my application url.
    Thanks
    Ma

    This problem can occur if you didn't specify any protocol (http:// or https:// or others) in the link. But your example looks fine. I think that you modified the real code to this example, without being aware that you solved the problem yourself.
    At any way, you can also just use h:outputLink to render <a> elements.

  • Setting the value of a hidden field in a Visual Web jsf page

    Hey All,
    I am new to jsf and need some help with the following. I have written a method in the java portion of the jsf page that will get the selection(s) from a listbox and return them as a string. I need to assign the value of that string to a hidden field in the jsp portion of the page, so that I can pass the string as a parameter to a servlet. I have tried the following code in the "button_action", in the java portion of the jsf page, to assign the value of the string, returned from method, to the hidden field:
    hiddenField.setValue(string);
    This is not working. Any and all help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Here is the tag for the hidden field when the "hidden field" component is added from the pallette, I addded the "value" and "id". The name of the class is ReportStandard, which extends the AbstractPageBean.
    <webuijsf:hiddenField binding="#{ReportStandard.utilSelHF}" id="utilSelHF" value="#{ReportStandard.utilParams}"/>This is how I am calling the hidden field in the servlet:
    utils = request.getParameter("form1:utilSelHF_field");Here is the code for the button_action:
    public String runReport_button_action() {
           this.utilParams = get_utilSelection();
           return "sRptrslts";
    }

  • How to populate a html table in a JSF page

    Hi, I need help on the following issue:
    My code calls an business layer API which returns me a string in html format which produces a html table. I have a JSF page with a bunch of other JSF components and I want to insert this html table at the bottom of this page. Is there a way to do it?

    OK
    Here is an example
    Drag an outputText component on to the Page. Check the properties of outputText and uncheck the escape property. Write this some where in the code when you want to display the HTML table on the page.
    String s = "<HTML><BODY><TABLE BORDER=2><TR><TD>No</TD><TD>Name</TD><TD>Age</TD></TR><TR><TD>1</TD><TD>John</TD><TD>30</TD></TR><TR><TD>2</TD><TD>Michael</TD><TD>20</TD></TR></TABLE></BODY></HTML>";
    outputText1.setValue(s);
    I am using the hardcoded value for String but in your case you get the string from some API.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

    I'm building my JSF pages based on a template that has a navigation pane which contains command navigation items , every one of them (command navigation items) appears as a link at runtime and calls a JSF page , I wish to get the initial state for any page when leaving it then entering such page again , and I would like to know what is the suitable place to write the code to do this task.
    many thanks !

    Clear the cache by adding the following to each jsf page.
    <%
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-cache");
    response.setHeader("Pragma","no-cache");
    %>

  • Focus on a specific item on JSF page

    How we can focus on a specific item on JSF page in Jdev 11g.
    In our use case user chose something from a radio button Then he want to focus on specific item on page.
    Thanks.

    I don't think so. One other thing is to insert javascript to the page from the code (backing bean):
                    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
                    ExtendedRenderKitService service = (ExtendedRenderKitService)
                    Service.getRenderKitService(facesContext, ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
                    service.addScript(facesContext, "alert(\"Hello!\");");Pedja

  • Skip to content in JSF page

    I have developed a very simple JSF page and sometimes it doesn't get rendered properly instead it displays a link "Skip to Content" and gets refreshed infinitely and automatically. I don't find anything wrong in the code.
    Can you please let me know if this is a known issue and solution to this, if any.
    Thanks
    Raza

    I get this error intermittently. I have developed a very simple JSPX with two labels and two images. The page renders fine sometime but sometimes, it gets skewed, functionality doesn't work and the link "Skip to Content" displays on the top-left of page. My JSPX code is mentioned below
    Please help!

  • Problem with Non JSF Request to JSF Page

    Hi All,
    I am working on dynamic controls generation based on the request come from non jsf page
    For the first request, pageworks perfectly. but when we go for second request, it is not rendering and I am getting same old page.
    What I have identified is if I have 2 pages as JSF, application is not giving any problem.
    For this I have written small test application contains both JSF pages only.
    page1 contains 3 submit buttons.
    When submit buttons are clicked based on the request, I get, am able to see the dynamic controls.
    SO there is no problem with JSF PAGE to JSF Page Communication
    Now I have done some changes in First JSF page. Instead of submitting directly I am submitting the page through JavaScript which is nonb JSF request. There I am facing the problem and based on requested qaction I am not able to see correct rendered page based on the requested action.
    Any Idea why it is giving problem for non JSF requests??
    Thanks
    Sudhakar

    For Your Convenience in understanding the problem
    I am pasting entire test code

  • How do I create a printer friendly page in a popup window for a JSF page

    I have a JSF page that displays a table that shows the inventory level of a particular garment style. The table is like a matrix with each row representing a color of the style and each column representing a size of the garment. So the data in the table cell is for the inventory level of a particular color/size combination (e.g. navy blue of medium size ) for the particular style. The page also allows you to dynamically select a warehouse from a dropdown to see the inventory matrix of that warehouse.
    Now everything has been working fine except that the matrix table is not printer-friendly. So we need to have a Print button or link on the page that will generate a popup window that displays the same matrix table in a printer-friendly format (with different style sheet etc.). What is the best way to populate the matrix table in the popup? The data in the matrx table is stored in a hashmap in a InventoryManageBean of session scope.
    Also, shoud I use window.open to get the new window and if so what do I pass in the URL parameter?
    Any advice is appreciated. It would be great if you can include a code sample as I would think someone else must have had this done before.

    Any one please? This is urgent. Thanks a ton!
