  • Page listed for reverse phone lookup no longer works

    Several sites on the Internet, and Verizon's own automated response bot (on 8/28/13), agree that Verizon provides free reverse phone lookups for Verizon landlines at this page:
    http://www.verizon.com/utilities/reverselookup/
    For me, this is changed automatically to:
    http://www22.verizon.com/utilities/reverselookup/
    ...and the page is a dead end:
    We're sorry....
    We are not able to process your request. To continue, please select one of the following options:
    Return to the previous page.
    View the verizon.com site map.
    Go to the verizon.com home page.
    THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF AN UNLISTED PHONE NUMBER OR EVEN A LANDLINE/CELLULAR ISSUE! In this process, I haven't even told Verizon the phone number yet.
    So what happened to this page? If one of the supposedly free (but not free) reverse lookup sites tell me that the phone number that called me is a Verizon landline, where can I find the name of the person who called me?
    Please don't tell me there are lots of sites on the Internet that do this for free. This is no longer true. Please do not recommend that I Google the number; I have already done that, and more.
    Instead, please tell me the exact Verizon page that provides this for Verizon landlines, or tell me a specific Internet page that does this.
    Thank you!

    I agree. I was looking for an answer for the lookup link on verizon.com:
    http://www.verizon.com/support/residential/phone/homephone/general+support/long+distance+calling/lon...
    which doesn't work, but your link now does.

  • Add-on save-as-filename (reverses changes made in 18.0) no longer works in 20.0. can some repair it?

    In the FF 18 a change very annoying to me was made (once again, first was GUI in 4.0) to change way in which filenames was made.
    GavinSharp from mozilla made fix on this fixed bug (no. 254139, which was no bug at all) in way of add-on named save-as-filename. This add-on in version 0.1, is still showed as active in version 20.0 but does not work.
    Also Firefox 3 theme for firefox 4+ 2.0.0 now doesn´t work properly as button for download manager now only displays a blank space.
    image can be found here: http://s23.postimg.org/lqpn87xbv/blank_space.png

    I would like to add a little further information - in the earlier version I was able to create a text box for user input with:
    var LYP = sym.$("LastYrPct");  //fourth layer - "LastYrPct"
    LYP.html("Last Year Percent (enter as whole number i.e. 80 for 80%): ");
    inputLYP = $('<input />').attr({ 'type': 'text' , 'value': '' , 'id': 'LYP' });
    inputLYP.css('font-size', 9);
    inputLYP.css('text-align', 'center');
    inputLYP.appendTo(LYP);
    And then later on the button submit function, read what the user had typed in the box with:
    var lastYearP = inputLYP.attr("value");
    ... reading the "value" attribute I'd set up in the input box definition.  That no longer works and I'm assuming that it has something to do with the scope since the read happens in the submit button function, but I don't know.  I'm assuming I'm missing something obvious.  Thanks for giving me whatever help you can with this.

  • Reverse geocoding

    I thought one of the features of Aperture 3 was reverse-geocoding? I am so pleased with the addition of Places, I've wanted this for a very long time! But I was hoping that reversing existing GPS co-ordinates would have been a feature so that photos can be searched for with their location data manually.
    Am I missing something?

    Yea I have those two products as well, I beta tested Maperture and it never worked for me so was over the moon to see Places in A3. I was thinking about Apple's decision to leave it out, as they put everything but the kitchen sink into Places in A3, and it tallies with the rest of the way A3 works in terms of metadata.. that is its kept separate from the file and inside a database until exported.
    So you'll have a series of relative drop-down menus which (except for custom Places added by yourself) will show the official and approved (and correctly spelt) names of places to choose from, very good but I think then Apple want you to be tied to their system until your ready for export, of which the numerical data is parsed. But searching for images via a textual search menu does not work, but then that's a habit to get out of.
    It still leaves room for rev-geocoding but I'm thankful that's all which is missing.

  • [Solved] Suspend to RAM no longer works

    Suspend to RAM when closing my laptop lid worked out the box for me since I put Arch on my Dell XPS 14. After doing a pacman -Su yesterday (where I noticed that the kernel was updated, but it might be something else) it no longer works. Running 'systemctl suspend' in the terminal does work. Do I have to update a config?

    For anyone else that finds this, systemd 212 doesn't suspend with lid closed with or without external monitor for those using the Nvidia proprietary drivers. Nvidia doesn't provide the necessary information for systemd to know whether or not an external monitor is connected, and thus it plays it safe and doesn't suspend. This is explained nicely at the Freedesktop bug linked above, but I wanted to pass it along here for those that won't follow the link.
    Sounds like they're leaning toward reversing the preference (dock/external display users will need to opt out of suspending with lid close) in future versions since non-dock/monitor users >> dock/monitor users.

  • New software update has cleared my contacts and notes app no longer working

    Help!  I'm traveling and today when I turned on my phone getting off the plane, the s/w updated and all of my contacts are gone.  i use the HTC People app, not google contacts.   Also the Notes application no longer works, and comes up with an error to force close.    Any ideas on reversing the s/w upgrade or getting my contacts back?  Thank you.

    If you were using Verizon's backup assitant you should be able to hit Menu | Settings | Accounts & Sync | add account and select backup assitant and it should prompt you for your pin number and restore your contacts. If you were not your only option for restore would be if you had backup software installed, or if you sync'ed using HTC Sync to outlook or some other program...I wish you the best of luck.

  • Wheel of iPod Shuffle no longer works

    The wheel on my iPod shuffle no longer works (forward and reverse music, volume, etc). Music plays, but otherwise have no control. Reset device, but problem persists. Anyone have a suggestions?

    Hello khcumiskey,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Since you reset the iPod and the issue persists, the next step would be to seek service for your iPod shuffle.

  • Reverse geocoding suggestions data invisible for filename templates and plugins

    Hi,
    Reverse geocoding are amazing, saves me a lot of work, but filename template I use seems don't work well with that feature.
    With file naming scheme like this: "Country-City-Sequence # (001)" the result is "--001.jpg" instead of "France-Paris-001.jpg" and I have to confirm address for hundreds photos manually to see country and city information in filename.
    Same situation in jf PicasaWeb plugin, when using caption scheme like this: "{Country}. {City}. {YYYY}. {Caption}." the result is ". . 2012. Example caption." instead of "France. Paris. 2012. Example caption."
    It is possible for Lightroom to use address suggestions in this situations whenever address fields are empty?
    Most important for me is to plugins see the address suggestions like normal (hard) data if address fields are empty.

    On the face of it, Lr4's implementation of reverse geocoding is excellent, and it is when dealing with images taken at the same location. However, its handling of mixed locations is painful. In my case I use Jeffrey Friedl's plugin. It fully integrates with the Map module and allows you to reverse geocode without the limitations your currently experiencing. Very likely not what you wnated to read, but it does provided a painless solution to the problem you've identified.
    Jeffrey's plugin can be downloaed from http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/gps

  • How to reverse geocode in LR4 if image is already tagged with latitude/longitude

    I've seen Terry White's video about geocoding by importing a .gpx file, but what if I've already got the latitude and longitude, and what I need is for Lightroom 4 to look up the city, state, country, etc.  Is this possible?

    Bump
    Nina Fox wrote:
    Uncheck the reverse geocoding checkboxes in the catalog settings.
    Restart LR.
    Enable the checkboxes.
    Now it works.
    This fixed the problem for any photo that does not have existing GPS coordinates embedded.  Two continuing problems:
    1 - Sadly all of my images that already have GPS coordinates embedded (iPhone shots and dSLR shots with a GPS unit) will not auto fill the City, State, Country fields.
    2 - Having to click on the City, State, Country fields to commit them makes the feature of little value as it saves no time.  I can select images in grid mode and batch append the individual fields faster than clicking into the fields to commit.  I imagine this can be fixed by a preference that allows for some type of auto commit of the Google appended metadata.

  • Fall back of the reverse geocoder

    Hi All,
    Looking at the results of reverse geocoding, it seems that it’s only based on the street_segment geometries with a nearest neighbor search without considering the actual distance. Looking at the oracle spatial geocoder schema from NAVTEQ samples, it seem that only street segment are spatially indexed in the geocoder and the GC_AREA table doesn’t seem to even have the spatial boundaries (it just have the centroid information).
    I wanted to know if there was a reason for that behavior/design, or even a fix in later version of Oracle Spatial geocoder (we are using 10.2.0.5)
    Typically ReverseGeocoders on the market, when the point is too far from street segment, will fallback and use the spatial boundaries (municipality boundaries or state/province boundaries),
    to perform Point in polygon operation like sdo_contains to know if the point falls into a specific polygon.
    In the case of my customer, this is a huge issue, as he expect to reverse geocode in area where there are few or no street and he expect to have data from limited amount of country.
    Using reverse geocoding (implemented as nearest neighbor) in that case will give inconsistent result, that could be several kilometers or even hundred kilometers, from the point clicked.
    The easy work around I see would be to limit the distance accepted between the point clicked and the segment returned by the reverse geocoding,
    But that would have the side effect that if I click in a specific Municipality or province, I would not be able to get reverse geocoding result.
    The same way, since reverse geocoding take the nearest segment, it can return a segment in a municipality even if the point clicked is in another municipality,
    Thanks for the help,
    Pierre.

    Hi
    You would need to review the logs (MIVR/MCVD logs) to determine the cause of this failure:
    They are in subfolders of c:\program files\wfavvid\log
    Feel free to post them up.

  • Unable to use reverse geocoding when renaming files

    I've asked about this on different discussion boards but no answer so far. The first versions of Lightroom that came with reverse geocoding did not have this problem. But somehow after an update in Lightroom 4 the Google reverse geocoded location fields cannot be used to rename files. This was very convenient for me to export images to people as a landscape photographer working in many places and making it easy for others to locate the place via the filename.
    Is this a bug or a Google rights thing? And is there a way to make reverse geocoded metadata permanent (not in gray and italics?) because when I overtype the place myself it does work.
    Example below: note that the fields {Country} and {City} or not added to the file name, even though they are in the metadata field.

    Don't use realtive paths, at least not without making them absolute yourself.
    Java gives you the ability to figure out the path from which the executing program was loaded. Use that, together with your relative path, to construct an absolute path.

  • Google Maps features no longer work or are extremely slow

    After upgrading my 1st gen iPhone to 2.0.x, many things don't work as they should. Either at all or there is an incredible delay before working.
    One issue is that after you've created directions in Google maps from point A to point B, if you want to reverse the directions, the reverse (s-shaped) button no longer works.
    Also the bookmarks button is very very delayed, as is contacts and the + button to add anything.

  • PCS no longer working with contacts and 6086

    I have applied the latest release of PC Suite 6.84.10.3.
    Previously the installed level was 6.83.14.1
    The send/read/write message still doesn't work but hangs the Windows Explorer for a while (this hang didn't occur previously)
    But now, the contact facility no longer works. It is no longer possible to edit a contact, to store it locally or to send it to the phone even a message says everything is OK
    (translate it from french: The contact has been well recorded into the phone)
    Folder browsing still works correctly, either the phone folder or the memory card folder
    Need a fix or a way to install the previous version, at least for the contacts...
    This is a really negative feedback!
    Phil

    I guess what I learned is that sometimes the best solution is to do nothing and wait for the problem to solve itself! Funny, this has never worked for me before.
    WOT is now working for me but often for only the first few rows of images. That's cool that it is also working with bing images.
    Boudica, thanks for understanding. I am new contributor/ question-asker here on mozilla and may not understand how things are done. I was just frustrated, getting an email saying that my question was answered, logging in to find that it wasn't.
    Now we have the functionality that we wanted, right?

  • Brand new IPOD Touch Apps no longer work after upgrading software

    I got a Ipod touch for my wife Today at Wal-Mart. I brought it home, connected to wifi and downloaded some apps and also payed for some. They all worked fine. Then I connected to computer to transfer songs. It told me to upgrade the Ipod software so i Did. After it restarted none of the downloaded apps work anymore. I have read MANY MANY MANY discussions on this and there is no fix. I am not wiping out all the songs and reload everything all over again. It will take forever. My wifes BD is Friday and this is making me so mad after I just dropped $300 on this thing. APPLE!!! Where is the fix? I deleted the apps and reinstalled they still don't work. Anybody got this figured out? I am getting ready to get my money back and tell everyone to avoid buying ipod until they get this upgrade bug fixed.
    Message was edited by: 2009 IPOD TOUCH

    I have the same problem. Brand new two days ago. I synched the touch with Itunes but wasn't hooked up to the internet at the time so didn't do the software upgrade right away. Then I downloaded about a dozen apps (free and paid) with wifi directly to the touch. They all worked fine. Then I plugged it back in to Itunes and had it upgrade it to 3.1.2. It locked up Itunes several times since then and the downloaded apps no longer work (they start to open then disappear).
    The problem is, no one is listening to this problem (including Anna above)! Everyone says "just do a hard reboot, or restore to factory settings, reload the apps, etc." I've tried all the standard troubleshooting but none of it fixes this. It sure seems to me this is a problem with 3.1.2 but Apple isn't helping out here. Where are you APPLE? Use some of those outrageous profits you're making to fix the problem you have created. Here's $300 of my hard earned dollars pretty much down the drain.
