RFC / BAPI import & export parameter structure

Hi,
Is there a way to get the import & export parameters structure from remote system rather than creating them in calling system?
I have WD4A in CRM system and want to call RFC on R/3 system. Since the R/3 dictionary objects do not exist in CRM, I have to create these in CRM before creating context node and attribute. Is there a way to use RFC without creating these structures?
Thanks,

Hello Ravindra,
yes you can copy DDIC structures from one system to another.
Option a).  See the many blogs on SAPLINK and the website
                  http://groups.google.com/group/saplink/
            and http://code.google.com/p/saplink/
Option b) in SE80 right click on object and select include in transport.
              Release Transport.
              Use TMS in other system to import this transport.
Please note, to call an RFC there is no need to declare the structure in the dictionary.
You dont even need to create the function in the local system.
So you may be over engineering the issue.
eg
data: being of ls_some_stru,
                     f1 type xxx,
                     f2 type xxxx
                     f3 type xxxx,
      end of ls_some_stru.
      call function 'XYZ_FUNCTION' destination 'OVERTHERE'
              exporting is_stru = ls_stru.
the structures used in XYZ_FUNCTION need not exist in local dictionary, nor does
the function need to exist in the local system.
regards
Phil.

  • Report group : 8a26 : what is the purpose of import export parameter ?

    Hi ,
    I am using report group 8a26. I need to add company code in selection criteria, but when i dbl clk on one of the profit center to see the line items, those are getting dislayed irrespective of the company code i select even though i have passed the BUK parameter using set command.
    Do I need to do something in import and export parameters?
    How does this report group works actually?
    Is there any thing more i need to do which i have missed out to pass the company code to the program  rcopca02?
    Please help

    Hi Joey,
    went through the tutorial with the "Import Java Classes".Do you mean the Barcode sample in Building Reports Manual?
    The purpose of Java Importer is this: suppose you have written your business logic in Java, eg, you convert currency from Dollars to Euros. Suppose the currency convertor is a Java class. You first import this Java class using "Import Java Classes". Now you can use this Java class in a Formula Column in your report to provide the input currency in Dollars and you will get the output in Euros. So the Java Importer provides a way for you to write your business logic in Java. You don't need to write all your logic in PL/SQL. You can just use PL/SQL to provide the input to Java, and get the output.
    To answer your specific Q: the PL/SQL packages (package spec and package body) are created automatically to reflect your imported Java classes. One package is created per imported Java class with the same name as the Java class, and it performs the same function as the Java class. However, you do not need to worry about these packages, and do not edit them.
    As a user, you only need to perform these steps:
    1. Import Java classes
    2. Use the Java classes in PL/SQL in your report, eg, in a Formula Column

  • How to export Guided procedure - Initiator to RFC as an export parameter

    Hi All,
          How do I capture the Initiator, Owner and Oversee of my Guided procedure and bind it as an output parameter of a Callable object?
         I need to this information to be sent to RFC so that I can perform the dynamic agent determination and send the agent back to Guide procedure.
    Thanks in adv.

    Based on the UI dialog for Export XML, it looks like you'll first want to set an XMLExportPreference to copy either optimized or formatted images, and then choose and image type. So,
    objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.copyFormattedImages = true;
    or
    objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.copyOptimizedImages = true;
    followed by
    objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.imageConversion = ImageConversion.JPEG
    or
    objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.imageConversion = ImageConversion.PNG
    This help page describes the difference between optimized and formatted images: InDesign Help | Exporting XML
    That should get you started.  You may need to play with some other options to get the output you want, but that's the idea.

  • IMPORT/EXPORT in RFC

    Hello,
    I am programming an RFC that sends a XSTRING a Java web portal, and in this case I have to send a PDF XSTRING generated on the SAP server.
    Therefore I am calling the program that generates the PDF and the return string of bits through the RFC IMPORT / EXPORT, and the problem I have that I do not get the RFC, but the program is making the process well.
    As I do?
    I've checked several forums on SDN and I have not seen anything that I have fixed the problem.
    Greetings.

    Hi
    Have you tried with a debug??
    the destination is correct??

  • How to define Export parameter as Import parameter in next test script.

    Hi Experts,
    We have defined Purchase order no. as export parameter in ME21N transaction test script.
    Test configuration for ME21N transaction executed succesfully and the Purchase order No. appeared in the last message
    is the export parameter for next test script i.e. MIGO transaction.
    However I am unable to define this export parameter as Import parameter in next test script for MIGO transaction.
    Please suggest me the method to define the same.
    Please Help...
    Thanks in Advance
    Vikas

    Vikas,
    You need to create super script which is nothing but having the both the steps (Po creation & MIGO ) in this eCatt script. This can be achieved by using the REF command as ex. below.
    Create PO
    REF ( Z_CREATE_PO , Z_CREATE_PO_1 ).
    Create MIGO
    REF ( Z_CREATE_MIGO , Z_CREATE_MIGO_1 ).
    Z_Create_PO is the actual eCatt script that you recorded to create the PO. Z_CREATE_QUOTE_1 is the interface created by SAP. Similarly you have use the REF command to call the MIGO script inside this super script.
    To pass the export parameter from PO step to MIGO, double click the Z_CREATE_PO_1and define the export variable for PO number. And do the same on the interface for MIGO step.
    Follow the instructions if you need in this help document posted by another user in this forum

    Hi
    what is BAPI?
    BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
    A BAPI is remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
    You can make your function module remotely enabled in attributes of Function module but
    A BAPI are standard SAP function modules provided by SAP for remote access. Also they are part of Businees Objest Repository(BOR).
    BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
    The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
    Reading instances of SAP business objects
    GetList ( ) With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
    The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
    GetDetail() With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method. BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
    The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
    Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
    The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
    Change( )
    The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
    Delete( ) and Undelete( ) The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
    The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
    Cancel ( ) Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
    Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( ) The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.

    Bdc to Bapi
    The steps to be followed are :
    1. Find out the relevant BAPI (BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for VA02).
    [for VA01 use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2]
    2. Create a Z program and call the BAPi (same as a Funtion module call).
    2. Now, if you see this BAPi, it has
    -> Importing structures.
    eg: SALESDOCUMENT: this will take the Sales order header data as input.
    -> Tables parameters:
    eg: ORDER_ITEM_IN: this will take the line item data as input.
    Note :
    Only specify fields that should be changed
    Select these fields by entering an X in the checkboxes
    Enter a U in the UPDATEFLAG field
    Always specify key fields when changing the data, including in the checkboxes
    The configuration is an exception here. If this needs to be changed, you need to complete it again fully.
    Maintain quantities and dates in the schedule line data
    Possible UPDATEFLAGS:
    U = change
    D = delete
    I = add
    Example
    1. Delete the whole order
    2. Delete order items
    3. Change the order
    4. Change the configuration
    Notes
    1. Minimum entry:
    You must enter the order number in the SALESDOCUMENT structure.
    You must always enter key fields for changes.
    You must always specify the update indicator in the ORDER_HEADER_INX.
    2. Commit control:
    The BAPI does not run a database Commit, which means that the application must trigger the Commit so that the changes are read to the database. To do this, use the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT BAPI.
    For further details... refer to the Function Module documentation for the BAPi.
    Bapi to VB(Visual Basic)
    Long back I had used the following flow structure to acheive the same.
    Report -> SM59 RFC destination -> COM4ABAP -> VB.exe
    my report uses the rfc destination to create a COM session with com4abap. com4abap calls the vb.exe and manages the flow of data between sap and vb exe.
    You need to have com4abap.exe
    If com4abap is installed you will find it in sapgui installatin directory , C:\Program Files\SAPpc\sapgui\RFCSDK\com4abap.
    else refer OSS note 419822 for installation of com4abap
    after making the settings in com4abap to point to the vb program and setting up rfc destination in sm59 to point to com4abap session , you can use the following function modules to call the vb code.
    for setting up com4abap and rfc destination please refer to the documentation for com4abap.
    Invoke NEW DCOM session
    call function 'BEGIN_COM_SESSION'

  • Export Parameter is blank....Business Connector

    Hi,
    I am using Business Connector to create a sales order thru web..
    For this i have created an RFC which internally calls a BAPI that creates sales order...in the BAPI some user Exits will get called in them i am exporting some message to MEMORY ID & importing after retuning to the RFC and assigened it to one of the export parameters of RFC ...Everything is wrking fine when I am testing the RFC on R/3..but thru BC the Export parameter is blank..
    I have tried set/get parameters & atlast ztable also...nothing is wrking..
    what might be the problem?How to capture that msg & display thru web?
    (Note : when dat export parameter is hardcoded in RFC that is getting displayed thru BC)
    Thanks in advance

  • How to use internal table in Exporting Parameter of method.

    Hi Friends,
    I am new to abap oops and using the following code to read a select-option and pass the data in an internal table but on defining
    internal table of a standard  type it is giving me following error :
    ITAB is not an internal table - the OCCURS n specification is missing.
    code
    ====
      class lcl_get_details DEFINITION.

          data  : itab type STANDARD TABLE OF sflight.
          METHODS : get_data IMPORTING s_carrid type R_carrid
                             EXPORTING itab type sflight.
      ENDCLASS.
    class lcl_get_details IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD get_data.
        select *
        from sflight
        into table itab
        where carrid in s_carrid.
        if sy-subrc eq 0.
          sort itab by carrid.
        endif.
      endmethod.
    ERROR : ITAB is not an internal table - the OCCURS n specification is missing.
    Kindly help.

    Hi,
    I think your problem is, because you use 2 variables named ITAB in method get_data.
    Instance-variable ITAB is defined as STANDARD TABLE OF sflight.
    Exporting-parameter ITAB is defined as sflight.
    It seems like in implementation of get_data exporting-parameter ITAB is used.
    Try this implementation:
    METHOD get_data.
      select * from sflight into table me->itab
       where carrid in s_carrid.
      if sy-subrc eq 0.
      sort me->itab by carrid.
      endif.
    ENDMETHOD.
    This should solve your compiler error.
    Nether the less, get_data will yield an empty structure as result.

  • In BAPI's why the structures are used in table parameters?

    Hello sir,
    what is BAPI sir? In BAPI's why the structures are used in table parameters?  table parameters they are using structures but not using any customized tables ?
    regards
    rachu.

    Hello Rachu
    BAPIs provide RFC-enabled interfaces to SAP business objects (e.g. like customer, sales order, purchase order, etc.).
    A BAPI does basically the same like you would need to do calling the corresponding transaction (e.g. BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATE -> VA01).
    Since they are RFC-enabled they can be called from external systems.
    BAPIs represent an external interface for the outside world. Very often you will find within the BAPI that there is a mapping done to the (SAP-)internal structures at the beginning of the coding and vice versa at the end of the coding. Thus, you will (almost) never find any DB table name used as type of a BAPI TABLES parameter.

  • RFC/BAPI Exception in PI 7.0

    Hi there,
      currently we have a scenario where the message come from middleware and pass through PI to POSDM system via RFC.
    my target structue is an BAPI .
      for some reason if the BAPI execution gets failed on POSDM system then the BAPI should return some exception back to PI system,
      can this be achived only by just adding the fault message type (ExchangeFaultData) in Inbound MI, whill this setting sufficient to get any error info from BAPI to PI via rfc, or do we need to do some exception mapping? if so can some one explain/

    Monika,
    RFM that pretends to be a BAPI has to follow a few strict rules. Some of them are :
    - BAPI is called always synchronously and are always successful i.e. errors are returned in EXPORT parameter (so  no matter if BAPI created some document/posting or not is successful!)
    - it does not return exceptions!
    so you should not advise to make use exceptions ...  otherwise it will not be a BAPI
    The one of possible solution is to wrap BAPI either using proxy or RFM and then you can propagate exceptions to SAP PI.
    /Jakub
