RFC - - Flat File (IDOC Format)

Hi,
I need flat file in IDOC(INVOIC02) format from the AR invoice in SAP R/3. We don't want to create IDOC's in SAP R/3. So We need to get the data from R/3 via RFC with EDIDC & EDIDD structures and map it to IDOC in XI. The second mapping would be from IDOC to Flat file.
Did anybody has done the mapping from EDIDD table to IDOC's? If so can you please share some mapping screen shots.
Thanks.
Srini

Hi,
As I have understood your scenario, you plan to send data from R3 in non-IDOC format, probably through RFC. This could be ABAP Proxy as well. And on receiver end, you need a flat structure file accepting this data.
For this case, you dont need two mappings as you mentioned. You could treat this as RFC - File scenario or Proxy - File scenario and perform the mapping accordingly.
Let me know if I have misunderstood your problem or if you need more elaboration on solution.
Thanks,
Bhavish

  • Flat File IDOC - ECC, segment defn x in IDoc type y CIM type do not exist

    Hi,
I'm working on idoc flat file > sap scenario.  Everything seems to be working up until the point where I get an error message:
EDISDEF: Port EDIPORT segment defn E2FINBU000 in IDoc type FIDCCP01 CIM type  do not exist
I've loaded the meta data, and the file structure is fine.  I believe the issue is related to PI not having the idoc I'm interested in listed in WE30.  How do I reference the standard IDOC type FIDCCP01?  Ideas I've had are around SWCV or transport from another system, the first I'm not sure which SWCV, the later seems a bit of a bodge and I dont like the idea.
    Thanks
    James.

Hmm.. some light for the situation.  Seems that the segments imported are:
    E1FINBU     E2FINBU     31I
    E1FINBU     E2FINBU001     40A
    E1FINBU     E2FINBU002     40B
    E1FINBU     E2FINBU003     45A
    E1FINBU     E2FINBU004     45B
    E1FINBU     E2FINBU005     46A
    E1FINBU     E2FINBU006     46C
Which indeed does not have E2FINBU000, which the IDOC is most definitely trying to pass.  I can only guess that the middleware producting this IDOC is flawed, and that standard SAP ALE will accept this as E2FINBU (It works into another SAP system without XI).
Guess I've answered my own question, but feel free to offer light for points
    Thanks,
    James.

  • Conversion of Flat file Idoc to Idoc

    hello SDNers
I am currently working on conversion of Flat file representation of an IDoc to IDoc XML. There is a document available in

conversion.I am new to this field. Please help me out
    1)  step by step process of how its working?
    2) Or any other ways to do the conversion?

    Hi,
    >>>1) step by step process of how its working?
the document you mention is just a mapping which you need to add to your scenario
    and it will work
    >>>2) Or any other ways to do the conversion?
if you have PI 7.1 and EhP1 then there is a java adapter module that you can add to the file adapter
and it will do the transformation automatically

  • Hierarchy Flat File loadable format

    Hi,
We need to load flat file hierarchy into infoobject.
We have the hierarchy in an excel file, in a sequential format.
How to convert this file into BW loadable format ie how to make it as hiearchy format?
Can you please throw some light.
    Thanks,
    Sri Arun Prian

    Hi,
    Thanks for your immense responses.
I have a flat file with huge records. To load it, we need the flat file data to be presented in nodes and sub nodes format.
As I have huge data, it will be tedious to do them manually.
So kindly throw some points in acheiving this.
    Thanks,

  • Convert flat file to Idoc format

Due to some security reasons , the ALE scenario for material master is not allowed directly between 2 SAP systems
So the SAP system A is sending a flat file (not in Idoc format)
From SAP system B , we need to do an Inbound process to post the Idocs with following rough steps
    1) Flat file upload
    2) Flat file -> Idoc format conversion  (EDI subsystem is not existing in this scenario and so this step has to be done within SAP)
    3) Idoc processing
Even though this scenario can be accomplished without using Idocs ,
for better monitoring and reprocessing options it is required that Idocs need to be used.
Please explain the detailed steps for the above scenario

    Hi,
This sounds very much lie complicating things unnecessary...Are this 2 SAP systems of the same company ?
Why would using IDOCS be more insecure then using flat files ?
If the purpose is to have a manual check before upload, you can achieve the same with IDOCS.
Please add some background to the process,
    regards

  • Creating JCo IDoc from flat file structure

    Hi,
I need to send an IDoc into SAP using JCo.
The input to my program is a string containing lines representing a flat file idoc, e.g.
    Line 1="EDI_DC40                           2   ORDERS04.."
    Line 2="E1EDK01                                          00000100000001    USD..."
    Line 3="E1EDK14                                          0000030000000...."
Is there a simple way to use JCo to create & send the IDoc?
    i.e.
    1) If I use JCo and RFC IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS, what would be all the steps/calls to SAP (create TID, call IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS, confirm TID..?)
And can IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS be called using the flat file structures (without having to map to all the JCo ParameterList fields)?  Since the flat file structures are  in the format required by the RFC, just in one long string.
    Line 1=>IDOC_CONTROL_REC_40
    Lines 2..n=>IDOC_DATA_REC_40
    2) Similarly, if I were to use JCo plus the JCO IDoc library, is there a way to pass the flat file structures without having to do all the mapping to segment fields?
    3) Other options..?
I want to use ALE to SAP, not files, even though the input is in the flat file structure.

Your reply gives a link to the general JCo documentation.
It doesn't give ideas on how to call an RFC or IDoc from JCO without mapping each and every field from a flat file structure.
I'm looking for a way to do something like this:
    Function IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS has table parameters
          IDOC_CONTROL_REC_40 STRUCTURE  EDI_DC40
          IDOC_DATA_REC_40 STRUCTURE  EDI_DD40
Since I have the flat file representation of the IDoc, the first line should overlay exactly onto the EDI_DC40 structure.  And the subsequent lines should overlay onto EDI_DD40.  (all fields in this RFC are strings)
However JCO and JCO IDoc library seem very strongly typed, so it looks like I would have to map each field from the flat file structure to a field in the JCO Function or JCO IDoc object.
This could be done in a generic way using the function/idoc metadata, however there would still be some overhead.
Is there a way to get round this, and build the function/idoc treating its parameters as one long string?

  • RSEINB00 flat file to idoc uploading in XI

    Hi,
I've searched a lot of posts here in SDN on how to use RSEINB00 to upload flat file idocs, and i tend to get lost as there are conflicting answers...
can anyone give me a clear/consolidated answer on how to use RSEINB00 in XI?
correct me if i'm wrong but the process is basically to upload a flat file idoc (residing in the XI application server) using RSEINB00, then after successful upload you're supposed to see your idoc in SXMB_MONI (the idoc flat file will be converted to idoc xml using the meta data loaded automatically in IDX2 and be passed to the xi pipeline)
is it needed to finish first all the setup in Integration Builder to enable the automatic loading of the metadata in IDX2?
Also what is the difference between executing RSEINB00 in a 4.5B to 4.5B  system, and a 4.5B to XI system?  (because rseinb00 is existing even before xi).  is it the idoc xml convertion? if it is then definitely the importing of the idoc type in XI Integration Builder Design is necessary right?
    Hope someone can explain clearly
I'll be more than willing to give points to the answer that will completely explain the concept..
    Thanks in advance

    Hi HJ,
Report RSEINB00 is no dedicated XI Report. You will NOT see the IDOC in SXMB_MONI.
Report RSEINB00 just calls a function module:
    IDOC_INBOUND_FROM_FILE
This is the documentation of IDOC_INBOUND_FROM_FILE unfortunately just in german language available:
Normally IDOCs are posted to a R/3 System and will processed automatically.
If you have a IDOC lying in the file system of your R/3 you can upload this file and trigger the automatic processing. Your R/3 knows what to do with every single IDOC type. IDOCs point to
    a) function modules or
    b) workflows
    Hope that helps

  • Idoc XML to a flat File

    Hello everybody,
On my system SAP, i need to send a IDOC to XI who convert it to a flat file idoc like this :
SAP => IDOC XML => XI => FLAT FILE IDOC.
Can anyone help me on this subject.
    Thanks

If you need the file in the idoc structure itself, I would suggest to create the file in R/3 and poll the file from XI.
Otherwise creating a flat file from the IDOC XML using the file-content conversion will be very cumbersome.
I don't find any other way to create the idoc flat file, anyone has a better idea??
But the polling solution will not work online. Still assuming that the file you create in the output side will be polled at some regular interval by some other application, make the polling frequency of the XI sender adapter same as the one of application at the output side should be enough.
If you are doing this as an experiment, I suggest you to create a file-content-conversion

  • Extract work order data from r/3 system in flat file(csv)and export to BI

    Hi,
    I am new in interface.
I need to extract data regarding actual cost and quantities of work assigned to Service Providers from SAP system and send it to BI for reporting purposes.
This interface will extract Master data as well as transactional data. Extraction of Master data will be a full extract and that of transactional data will be Delta Extraction.
Custom development will extract the data from different fields and will export it to flat files (CSV format). This program will amalgamate all the flat files created into one big file and export it to BI system.
Export of data to BI system will be done by schedule program Control M, which will export the data from SAP system to BI system in batches. Control M is expected to run daily at night.
Please provide the step-by-step proces to do this.
    Thanks

    Hi Ravi,
you've got to set up the message type MDMRECEIPT for the Idoc distribution from R/3 to XI. Check chapter 5.2 in the IT configuration guide available on <a href="http://service.sap.com/installmdm">MDM Documentation Center</a>. It describes the necessary steps.

  • Access Flat Files From Oracle Forms Using Simba

    Hi,
I need to access Flat Files using Simba and display the data using Oracle Forms on Solaris. The Flat Files, Simba and Oracle Forms is on Solaris.
    Thanks.
    Sanjay R Naidu.

    Hi,
not knowing the flat file's format and why you need SIMBA for it, Forms provides a text_io package that can read from files. You need to parse the file's content and then bring this to a datablock.

  • Translating Excel query into flat file(.CSV)

    Hi,
I have a requirement where i need the Excel Queries to be displayed in Flat file(.CSV) format.
To be more clear i have an excel query but  my client requires this query to be displayed in a Flat file format. Can someone explain me how i can acheive this.
    Thanks

    Hi All,
Thanks for all the information provided by i missed mentioning one point, actually thse queries are to be automatically schedule. the requirement is like this i need to bring to extract data and build queries export it as a .CSV file these queries are not end user queries so they have to be automatically scheduled and will be picked up by an interface so they do some mapping with the .CSV file we provide.
So we decided to do it in Reporting Agent in Excel format and automate it and send the file to a specific location from where the Interface team can pick it. which doesnt need an user to run the query.
so can someone tell me if i can automate a query and as well as have the query in .CSV format?? I hope i was clear
    Thanks.
