RFFOCA_T: DME with file descriptor in first line (RBC)
Hi All,
I've customized the automatic payment run for a company located at Canada - including generated DME- file by the report RFFOCA_T. The DME file looks good - but sadly the house bank (RBC, Royal Bank of Scotland) is expecting two things different:
"Different formats now exist for the Royal Bank and CIBC from the default CPA-005 specification.
u2022 Type 'A' and 'Cu2019 records have been modified to handle RBC and CIBC
u2022 A parameter was added to job submission to request the bank type
This process has been revised to include two headers as part of the tape_header code segment.
u2022 The first header must be the first line in the file and appear in the following format: $$AAPDCPA1464[PROD]NL$$
u2022 The second header (positions 36 to 1464) must be filled with blanks, not zeros"
(taken from "SCT Banner, Finance, Release Guide - January 2005, Release 7.0")
In our DME-file the second header (position 36 to 1464) is correct, but the first header is completely missing.
RBC wrote me in an email:: "The first line of the file needs the file descriptor ($$AAPDCPA1464[PROD]NL$$). The date format and the client number is correct. When the $$ file descriptor has been added please upload the TEST file":
I could not find any solution at SAP/ OSS - can anybody help, please?

Hi Revi,
I'm not sure if I understand you in the right way.
I do not have a problem only with the $$ at the beginning. The whole first expected line as the file descriptor is missing. As we saw in the report code, it's not considered. At least I hope, there is a simple solution - like an update or else - but maybe we need to enlarge the report itself by a programmer?

I have a problem with file descriptors not released by JMF. My application opens a video file, creates a DataSource and a DataProcessor and the video frames generated are transmitted using the RTP protocol. Once video transmission ends up, if we stop and close the DataProcessor associated to the DataSource, the file descriptor identifying the video file is not released (checkable through /proc/pid/fd). If we repeat this processing once and again, the process reaches the maximum number of file descriptors allowed by the operating system.
The same problem has been reproduced with JMF-2.1.1e-Linux in several environments:
- Red Hat 7.3, Fedora Core 4
- jdk1.5.0_04, j2re1.4.2, j2sdk1.4.2, Blackdown Java

Many thanks.Its a bug on H263, if you test it without h263 track or with other video codec, the release will be ok.
You can try to use a not-Sun h263 codec like the one from fobs or jffmpeg projects. -
Excel upload with header in the first line

I have to upload a Excel sheet with data where the first line will be the Header .

"read from measurement file" reads only first line of data
Hello,
I have a problem when trying to read a .lvm file through "Read from Measurements file" with the following block diagram
Problem: it reads only the first line of data from what I can see in the probe window,.
A part of the lvm file for reference.
I haven't used Labview in a long long time, I'm trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.

I unfortunately cannot share the full vi that record the data as I am not its owner/creator. I'll try to give as much info as I can with the relevant pictures attached, I hope it allows us to at least have an hint of where the problem might be.

In the stacked sequence, the other pannels are similar to the one shown here: value read fron a variable, converted to dynamic and a signal attribute is set. The "start recording" control operation is "switch when pressed".

The attached PNG shows the code used to build up concatenated strings into a string array for the first four lines, thence to a string Array, to Spreadsheet String.vi and, finally, the use of Write to Text File.vi
The lower right corner shows the result loaded into a spreadsheet. Note the 3 blank entries marked by a filled red rectangle. Examination of hidden characters shows there is a tab at the beginning of lines 2, 3 and 4.
There is no tab shown in the code. How do those tabs get there? How do I stop them?
I have tried with the option "Convert EOL" both on and off with no difference.
The Help states that an OS-dependent EOL character is appended to each line. I can't imagine the Windows EOL character includes a tab.

Makes complete sense when you look at your code. You build a string, including an end-of-line character, and put that string into an array. Then, when you run it through Array to Spreadsheet String, it puts a tab after every array element, and new line at the end of each row in the array. The first element of your array contains a new line but Array to Spreadsheet String doesn't know about it; it still inserts a tab between that array element and the next one, giving you the tabs. -
Suddenly can't create dirs or files!? "Bad file descriptor"
Tearing my hair out...
Suddenly, neither root nor users can create files or directories in directories under /home. Attempting to do so gets: Error -51 in Finder, "Bad file descriptor" from command line, and "Invalid file handle" via SMB.
However, files and dirs can be: read, edited, moved, and occasionally copied. Rebooting made no difference.
Anyone have a clue on where to start on this?

Many Mac OS X (10.3.9) ManyIndeed. This whole episode has exposed rather woeful lack of robustness on the part of the X Server and XRAID... various things failing and server hanging completely as a result of a few bad files on disk.. with lack of useful feedback as to what was happening.
Best I can tell, we had reached the stage where the next available disk location for directory or file was bad... blocking any further additions.
I've embarked on the process of copying everything off, remove crash-provoking files, replace one bad drive (hot swap didn't work), erase all, perform surface conditioning (bad-block finding) procedure, and maybe later this century will be copying all files back.
Looks to me like the bad block finding procedure is finding a few bad blocks on the supposedly good drives... presumably will isolate those, but maybe we need to get more new drives.

Collecting Responses only collects first line in distributed form
Does anyone know if this is a common problem with a known solution? I have a distributed dynamic form which starts out with one line. The user fills it in, then adds additional lines when necessary. User then uses the submit via email button on the form to email the form back to me. I receive the form, and am prompted to save response into a response file. However, when viewing the response file, only the first line of the form is entered, even though the user has added and filled in multiple lines. Any idea what is causing this?

Edit: Actually, when I export it as a CSV file and open it in Excel, the data is there, but it is spread out...i.e., each line that has been added by the user is appended as additional columns, not as additional rows. I really only need to view it in Adobe, so is there any way of getting ALL of the collected data to display in the Adobe form collector?http://forums.adobe.com/community/livecycle/livecycle_es/livecycle_designer_es

Uploaded text file has a new line added at the top using BSP MVC applicatio
I have a BSP MVC application that uploads data on to the application server. When I open the uploaded text file, the very first line on the file looks like the line below. ->

Need help with java File IO ( Removing the first line from a file )
Hi guys ,
I am currently doing a project in which I need to extract out the values from the second line of a file to the end. The question is how do I ignore the first line ??
I thought of two possible answers myself. One is to use randomaccessfile to read and rewrite. But the file may be HUGE so storing the whole file in memory is not a very good idea.
Second is to jump to second line before doing while ((str = in.readLine()) != EOL) ... or just delete the first line from the file. Can anyone suggest a better solution or show me some sample codes ? Thanks.

How do we deploy a war file, which doesnt have weblogic.xml nor web.xml in it ?
We have these xml files.
1- How do we include these xml files ? any command line to do that ?
2- Which is an easier approach to deploy a war file
a) include these xml files into the war and then deploy with WLS using weblogic.Deployer or
b) explode the war and then copy these xml files to its WEB-INF ?
Is there an example we could use to follow to deploy our war file ?

Arraylist only reading first line of file
I am reading a text file using an arraylist. my file has a single value on each line e.g.

however this method is only reading only the first line of each file. is it because of this statement:

I would like to change the method so its not expecting numbers in a single line.. but reads each line and adds it to the collection... how can I do that?

Removing first line in text file... Memory and HD concern
Hello all,
I want to remove the first line of a text file. This is easy... One way
to do it, is to find the first "end of line" caracter, strip the string
and re-write the sting in file with the "strip to sreadsheet" VI.
Since the file can be quite large (about 120000 lines), is this a good
way to do it. Will it re-write all the line or just moving the "begin
of file" pointer to the second line? If it re-write the whole file,
this option is not very good since I could have to do this operation
quite often. (I want the file to be a kind of circular buffer / backup).
What do you think is the best way to do this?

VincentI think you would have to read in all the data and write it to a new file, you could either keep the data in RAM or simply write to another file then delete the original, and then rename the temp one. So obviously that is a lot of data and memory.
My main question is are you trying to use a text file as a circular buffer? If so can you tell us more about the data, ie is it strings of a constant length? Does a user ever need to read the file or could we head binary?
A solution would be to truly make the file a binary file, so you could actually seek through the file easier, and maybe make the first data chunk the location of the most recent write. The obvious danger is then writing over existing data. This solution is still risky because of the data writes.
You may want to look at some of the other file formats like HWS which maintains a hierarchy of data for you so you can simply add and remove data from it. However, a user will not be able to easily read it. -
