Ribbon tab exists even after uninstalling PowerPoint Add-in

I have created an application level Add-in for PowerPoint 2010/2013 using C# VSTO. The add-in is installed from msi installer file.
The problem is that after I uninstall the add-in from the control panel and open a new PowerPoint presentation, the ribbon tab is still visible with all the functionalities correctly working.
To remove the tab I have to do either of the following two things:
Remove the add-in from the COM Add-ins list from the PowerPoint Developer tab.
End the running instance of PowerPoint from Task Manager.
I have called the dispose methods(in ThisAddIn_Shutdown method) for all the initializations I have done in ThisAddIn_StartUp method but this is not helping.
private void ThisAddIn_Shutdown(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
this.Application.WindowSelectionChange -= Application_WindowSelectionChange;
this.Application.SlideSelectionChanged -= Application_SlideSelectionChanged;
this.Application.SlideShowBegin -= Application_SlideShowBegin;
this.Application.SlideShowEnd -= Application_SlideShowEnd;
}I figured out that this is happening because of the task-pane objects created inside ThisAddIn_StartUp, which I have disposed in ThisAddIn_Shutdown, Application_PresentationClose and Application_PresentationCloseFinal. But still I have no luck.Please let me know what else is to be done!Thanks

Hi,
This is the forum to discuss questions and feedback for Microsoft Office, the issue is more related to develop the add-in, you'd better post your question to the MSDN forum for VSTO

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding.

    Even after uninstalling, reinstalling Firefox, the Firefox profile folder is empty, and I get the message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." I have followed all the directions I can find, on my computer and Firefox Support. Still, the same message comes up, and "firefox" is not shown in my Windows Task Manager.
    What can I do?

    Delete the profiles.ini file and let Firefox create a new default profile.

After my 2011 MacBook Pro 17 died, I had to purchase a new MacBook Pro 15 to replace it.  I performed a Time Machine installation from that 2011 machine, and only Distiller and Acrobat would launch (none of the rest of the creation apps).  So I ran the CS5.5 installer, uninstalled, then reinstalled, producing the same result. When I try to launch, nothing happens.  What next?

    That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
    Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots  and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

    The error message I get in Application Manager is:

    Help!

    Can you please try installing the Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.
    If that doesn't work then the safest course would be to remove all Adobe Creative Software using the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  This should then remove the Adobe Application Manager folder also inside Utilities.  Once the software is completely uninstalled and the Adobe Application Manager is removed then you should be able to reinstall from https://creative.adobe.com/.

  • A window asked me to close firefox.exe so it could do something (AVG I think). Now, I can't open Firefox at all even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

    When I took my laptop, which is running in XP, to get rid of a
    number of trojans, etc, the computer tech put AVG on it. Since
    then, I have been getting random notices from AVG. I got a
    notice and clicked it before thoroughly reading it, assuming it
    was another one of these. It said something about closing
    Firefox, and I thought it needed to close Firefox so it could
    scan something. Ever since, I click on the shortcut or the file
    itself to no avail. Nothing happens. I've even tried
    uninstalling and reinstalling. Have I unknowingly changed my
    administrative settings?

    Annette,
    #In the menu bar, at the top of the Firefox window, Go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions.
    # Locate ''each ''of the following extensions by name and click the disable button
    #Restart Firefox as prompted and see if the undesired toolbar has been removed.
    #The extensions to disable are: '''Crawler Toolbar''', '''MP3 Rocket Toolbar''', '''MSN Toolbar''', '''Search Helper Extension'''
    If you don't need some / all of those toolbars, consider leaving them disabled.
    You can probably remove these toolbars permanently from Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

  • After installing LV 7, MAX 3, NIDAQ 7, can not target to LV 6.1 RT even after uninstalling and loading older version.

    We have started using LV 7 for all of our new projects but still have to support a number of older projects made in LV 6.1. After installing LV 7, MAX 3 and NIDAQ 7, we can not do remote DAQ configuration on the older version of RT and can not target to the RT system either. We used NIs uninstall for MAX and NIDAQ and then reinstalled the older versions, but we still can not remote DAQ configuration. Computers that have the older versions of MAX and NIDAQ and have never had the newer versions installed have no problem with remote DAQ configuration or targeting.
    How can we go back to the previous version of MAX and NIDAQ and get it to work? What is left
    after uninstalling the newer versions?

    Rob,
    I would recommend creating a Service Request on-line and contacting an Application Engineer. There are several possible reasons that software might not be completely removed, and we have some utilities that will make sure this does not happen. There also might be some issues with downloading the code to the "target". We could quickly reformat the controller and make sure to get the older software on the system.

  • Segments exist even after dropping tables

    Oracle 11g on AIX.
    I dropped all the tables from my schema, but the following query
    shows this:

    ABC                            BIN$hA51n8nqcCjgQ59/4sFwKA==$0So my question is, why are segments still allocated even after I've dropped
    all the tables in my schema?
    Is there some command I can use to free them up?
    Thanks.

    They are just recyclebin objects given to you so that you can recover the dropped tables after the drop command too. Please see,

    To drop these objects, you can use

  • Web2pdf continues to prevent me from making Adobe PDFs even after uninstalling web2pdf

    On FireFox's sync site, it endorses web2pdf. It doesn't work and it prevents my making PDFs with Adobe.
    So I got rid of web2pdf by closing out the add-on. That uninstalled the add-on, but I still can't print out any pdfs. I removed Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502, couldn't find Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45, and didn't understand the Mozilla page on plug-ins.
    "Adobe PDF Properties" tells me my PDF printer is working properly, but when I attempt to print a PDF, I get a pop-up window that informs me of an "error printing PDF." If I try again, the popup window tells me that my "Adobe PDF" is in "error status" until I remove the queued document.
    I never had this problem before I downloaded print 2pdf, and now that I've uninstalled it, the problem remains.
    How do I regain my Adobe PDF function? Any steps I can take to set my system back to its original operational state? Would reloading my Adobe CS3 solve the problem? Is there anything I should/can do before I resort to that (a very timely process)? My OS is Win8.

    Regardless of whether I try bookmarking using ⌘D or the star on the right of the address bar or using the drop down Bookmarks tab, Firefox will not bookmark the page. It doesn't matter what page I am trying to bookmark, I can't bookmark any of them. And when I tried importing my bookmarks from Google Chrome, it imported the folder names but not the contents.
