RICEF work in SAP Carve-Out Project
Hello,
I am looking for a high level overview of the RICEF development work involved in an SAP Carve-Out project.
We are installing a new SAP ERP system and intend to carve out the required functionalities from the source system to the target vanilla system. Any ideas on what kind and amount of RICEF work would be involved in such a scenario?

Hi Tilak,
Although I am not 100% sure, I have not heard specifically of any transport mechanism in SAP HANA.
This can however be achieved by Export and Import functionality available in HANA..which can Export/Import content models, tables etc.. it can be accessed from the Quick Lauch screen.

If the company require a new company code?
Is it for new business and is it for reporting purposes.
What is the Copy company code to create new company code?
What are all the changes you need to modify for the new company code after you copied? Name, address and some configurations
Get acquainted with the country specific settings for Tax and Assets for Accounting Purposes.

Is there a way of working collaboratively on a flex project with a small project group?
Is there a way of working collaboratively on a flex project with a small project group?
I am part of a small group of developers who wish to work on a single flex project together. Is there a way to set up flex so that the project can be developed by multiple people at the same time. I have seen one thread out on the internet about working locally and then uploading to SVn but this is not an option in this case.
Any ideas.

DaveI would say that rushing into development without a source-control system will cost you more in the long-run. If your organisation is serious about developing software it then it needs to invest in the necesary infrastructure, so you should get that process kicked-off as soon as possible.
In the interim you could set-up a source control server on one developer's machine or commandeer a spare machine to use as a temporary source control server. Just make sure you have it backed-up regularly. Or you could use one of the online source control services; many will support private repositories for a small fee. -

Mentioned details are SAP client (i.e., DEV, QAS) specific settings. So, you can use these for roll out projects.

This is Business requirement how they want to have / see the equipment in SAP. You can go with external number range or internal number range with external number in Technical identification field in equipment master.

Task lists can be copied from existing one, but not maintenance plans.
4. Please provide me information on Classes and classification how they should be done.

Script Works In Simulator, Fails After Project Build
I have a DSP3 project that consists basically of the following:
One menu with 5 buttons.
5 tracks
I wrote a script that uses SPRM8 to determine which button was last used and to display that button when the user returns to the menu.
The script works fine when run in the Simulator. The last button used is always displayed. After building the project and testing it in DVD Player I find it doesn’t work. I burnt the project to a DVD+RW and tested in an actual DVD Player desk, but as expected it didn’t work.
Works in Simulator, but not after being built.
Can anyone suggest something I’ve either overlooked, or have gotten wrong?The question is, the script works in the DSP3 simulator, but not after the build.

I'm trying to set up the DVD so that you can jump back to the menu from any point in the track, and from any track, and still have the last active button displayed. And without going to the end of the track.

Many peoples says that BI , APO , BW and HANA are the highest paying modules.
But with the passage of time the value of the professional decreases because many people go work with this modules then ...supply and demand = decreases.
Only the people that really knows continue making lots of moneyand the characteristic of these people are the same:
They always read the SDN community of his modules.
They really study the sap help.
They do not want to make lots of money early on.

IF client is on SAP and runing SAP
now he purchases new p-lant or set up new plant
then going on to sap for this new plant is roll out
IF client is on ECC5 and he want to go to laterast ecc6 or 7
then this project for ecc5 to ecc 6 is call upgrade
or conversion for non unicode to unicode client its also cale upgrade project
So roll out project means you have to copy what are all the things in the old plant configuration, that things you have to copy that in new plant code..
1.Company code is already maintained
2.give plant code
3.give storage location (how many storage location in new plant)
4.purchase organization for this new plant
5.Purchase group
6.if any ware house module is there you have to give the bin, rack and related shipping point and delivery point,sales org, sales channel .picking and packing .
7.pr number ranges, document type and output type
8.po number ranges and document type and output type for taking printout.
9 gr document number ranges and out put type and document type(mb90)
10. invoice screen config and output type .(mr90)
11.pricing procedure
12.plant settings both inventory and mrp related settings ..(u have to ask this information from your client)
13.material master settings
14.vendr number ranges and related settings in account group
15.rfq and qutotation related settings ..
16.if you have contract arrangement .then you have to give number ranges and document type and output type for taking printout

Getting "error in XML task" when trying to check out projects
I get the following error when I try to check out projects on our SAN (where everything is):
Here's the error in full:
error in XML task: error writing XML document: You do not have appropriate access privileges to save file “002800.xml” in folder “0000000000004f17”.
Anybody got any clue? Appears to be a permissions issue with the Version.bundle file contents. We just set up users and groups on the SAN with LDAP Open Directory, added the Groups to the FCS System Pref Pane, but are getting no joy when logging in as a User who is a member of a Group that has been added.

No, I did not set up anything like that - this is a pretty plain jane setup, just trying to check out an FCP project. Some work was done on the SAN while I was away, and now we can't get it to work. The IT team (I'm just the FCS guy) says permissions appear to be correct, but it isn't working, and it did before.
I presume that if user A is trying to check out a project, that FCS is doing the dirty work at a permissins level, so it'd be the FCServer machine's admin account that set up the FCS install that needs permissions....right? Or user A? In either case, we can't get it to go.

Ranking feature not working in RoboHelp 8 - FlashHelp project
I'm testing RoboHelp 8, we use FlashHelp because we like the skins. I just converted my project from RH7 to RH8 and am doing testing of new features.
After I generated my converted FlashHelp project, i selected to view it on my C drive. I did a search for "wash account". The results display 18 topics but NO ranking information.
Out of curiosity, I generated the same project using WebHelp --- the Ranking works fine.
Search setup in the project layouts for FlashHelp and WebHelp are the same:
Enable Highlight Search Result (with gray color selected for highligh)
Enable substring search
What's the problem with FlashHelp in RH8 with ranking?
Will I have the same problem when I finally get RoboHelp Server 8 up and use FlashHelp Pro as our primary layout?
Please don't tell me that ranking only works with WebHelp or WebHelp Pro in RoboHelp 8.Hi! Ranking works with WebHelp Pro when project is published using RoboHelp Server 8. You do have to make sure if you want the topic to be ranked highest that the keyword is in the topic title and sub-titles as well as in the body.
I've done no more testing in regards to ranking with FlashHelp Pro because we haven't moved to RoboHelp 8.

RFC calls are taking too many work process -- system knock out
Hi,
I have an interface remote function, which is going to be called by a java program.
Data is going to be sent to the system, processed and sent back syncronous to the caller.
The calls are working on SAP tables, so I needed to lock and unlock the tables. The java program
is opening many parallell threads and starts them the same time.
That means, that the sap system is getting attacked by many rfc calls on the same function, with the
same user at the same time.
The system has in development 15 dialog work processes set up. If I run that with up to 15 parallell rfc calls, all is working ok!
Let me now explain the problem:
I have programmed the table lock, that it´s trying to lock the table at the beginning of the function.
If it´s not possible it tries it again. At first I have just inserted a one second wait and let that run maximum 3 times. If the table is still locked, it breaks down with an error.
But because the calls come nearly to exactly the same time to the system, the first call locks all others out, and the rest ran out of the 3 seconds and ended up with an error.
So I tried to build an endless loop, which is just ending, when the table could be locked again, or when the runtime of 5 seconds has reached. That means, it´s not waiting for a second, if the table is locked, but it´s trying again and again up to 5 seconds.
That is all ok, because sometime the table is free again and all calls are then processed alright.
BUT if I now run that with MORE than 15 rfc calls from the java program (15 dialog processes are set up), the system got knocked out! It is using all free work processes for the RFC calls and get stucked. I think, the first call is locking the table, and the got stopped by the system. And then all the others are running in the endless loop....
So, shouldn´t be there a limit for dialog processes taken by RFC calls? For example here for this user? In this case it should f.e. be set to 10 free processes with 5, which are reserved for other users...
Any advices?
The second is, how can I change the lock mechanism, that I don´t use an endless loop? Waiting for one second and doing that 3 times, is not good enough... Because all the rfc calls wait then for one second, up to 3 times, and end with an error....
Is it possible to wait for half seconds, or defined milli seconds?

What I have understood is you are trying to lock the table in a loop and just checking the duration by explicitly putting wait statement.
Hope you are NOT locking the entire table rather a particular record in each lock.
No need to use explicit wait statement rather its better to let SAP thinks when to lock the table T1 when its already locked by another work process. So just set the wait parameter for the Enqueue function module as 'X' and check how it behaves. Until the table is not unlocked the process will wait.
If you see the wait parameter for the Enqueue function module is not available then create your own lock object for the table and use that. Make sure its getting dequeued else you can understand better

OK... I'm using the latest PP CC with Windows 7 64-bit on an iMac.
I recently formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Premiere, and since then I've been unable to render in timeline (pressing enter). I can still export media without rendering, and it all works perfectly, but when I try to render it always freezes and I have to force quit program.
In addition to this problem, when I try to re-open the project I was working on it says "This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type".
I've read some threads on this, and I'm able to make a new project and import the sequences from the corrupted project onto it, but I don't want to have to do this every time! Is there any way to fix these problems?

The error message that you have given occurs mainly when Premiere Pro is not activated properly or even sometimes when Creative Cloud Desktop app is not updated or you are not signed in.
To troubleshoot, first make sure your Creative Cloud Desktop app is updated and you are signed in. Next launch Premiere Pro and sign out and sign back in to Premiere. Next try to open your particular project.
In case you still get the same error, check your hosts file (hosts file location: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc).

Under mySAP SRM you will find links to various scenarios like Plan Driven Procurement, Strategic Sourcing etc, selecting these links will provide you with the Business Scenario config guides as well as the Master Guide.
