Risk Profile level needed for HIPAA
The VMware Security Hardening Guide says this:
"Risk Profile 2: guidelines that should be implemented for more sensitive environments, e.g. those handling more sensitive data, those subject to stricter compliance rules, etc."
If I am targeting HIPAA compliance, should I assume that I need to comply with Risk Profile 2 on all points at a minimum, or is it not that simple?
Hello,
You MUST meet HIPAA regulations, however there is nothing in there about exceeding those requirements. If you feel the guidelines are for you then by all means implement. Regulation is the bare minimum that is required and set by committee usually. If you feel more comfortable meeting HIPAA regulations AND risk profile II then do both, but meeting risk profile II does NOT mean you meet HIPAA regulations.
Regulatory Compliance is the starting point it is not the end all of security. Being secure however does not imply you meet regulatory compliance requirements.
The VCM team has done a mapping for you. Go by that. Or if you rather not use VCM then you can use HyTrust, Catbird, and several others. Whichever tool you use, ensure you trust their mappings. That trust is critical. Personally, before I pick a tool to help with Compliance, talk to your Compliance officer and see if they have even heard of the tool or would recommend some other. If the 'other' does not work within a virtual environment properly then you need to start educating the compliance officer because they need to fully understand before they audit for that compliance.

MO Operating Unit Profile Option Needed for Mass Allocation in R12
Mass Allocation does not work in R12 unless you set MO Operating Unit profile option at GL Responsibility level. Is that an official requirement from Oracle or is that a bug? A client should be able to implement and use GL without setting operating units as they are needed for subledgers.
Hi
I have found the below mentioned information on MO: operating Unit Profile option from the Oracle E-Business Suite Multiple Organizations & Oracle General Ledger Reference Guide which directly or indirectly requires the setting of the profile option at the appropriate level (responsibility, site etc)
Profile Options not Owned by General Ledger:
The following profile option affects the operation of General Ledger, but is not "owned" by General Ledger:
• MO: Operating Unit - This profile option controls which operating unit a particular responsibility is assigned to.
Note: General Ledger's Account Inquiry window ignores the setting of this profile option. This allows you to drill down to your subledgers independent from their multiple organization setup. As a result, when you drill down to subledger details, General Ledger will show you all of the transactions that comprise an account balance, regardless of which organization originated the transaction.
To use multiple organizations, you must define an accounting setup with at least one legal entity, a primary ledger that will record the accounting for the legal entity, and an operating unit that is assigned to the primary ledger and a default legal context (legal entity).
You must set either the MO: Operating Unit or MO: Security Profile profile option for each application responsibility to use Multiple Organizations context sensitive applications. When you connect to the Oracle Applications, you sign on by entering your user name and password. Then, you choose a responsibility that is available to your user. After you choose your responsibility, there is an initialization routine that reads the values for all profile options assigned to that responsibility. Oracle Applications allows you to see only the information for those operating units that are assigned to your responsibility.
Hope this helps.
Thanks and Regards

Dear S&OP community,
I am getting following error while creating a planning ares in a newly installed sandbox. "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level".
This what I did...
1) Created new attributes and master data objects and activated them successfully.
2) Time profile created and activated successfully
3) Trying to create planing area by assigning time profile in step 2 and assigned master data from step1..Unable to save the data and system returns
this error - "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level"
My understanding is time profile needs to be active but doesn't have to have values...
Any help is appreciated.

BAdI needed for transfer order split with the maxi.of 5 item level
Hi,
BAdI needed for transfer order split with the maximum of 5 item level.
If a transfer order contains 12 item level, three separate transfer order should be created with item level 5,5 and 2.
This transfer order is for the material which bound to flow to production from warehouse.
Can anyone explain the step by step procedure to implement this BAdI?
It would be great if the procedure is for New BAdI.

Need for Speed not supported on current profile
Hi Folks,
I just got a playbook today and when I try to download Need for Speed from the app store it says "This item is not supported by your current device profile"
The tetris says the same thing, I can download other apps without issue though.
I'm running OS version 1.0.3.1868 and connected to wifi.
Anyone know what causes this or how I can get around it?The question is WHERE are you?
I'm in the UK and had this problem until yesterday.
I wouldn't be surprised if you're in a region that doesn't have the PlayBook on commercial release yet.
To get around this, you need to set up your PlayBook's network connection to use a USA public proxy, so that App World thinks that you're in North America. Look at this page: USA Open Proxy List
Hope this helps you.

Need some intermediate and advance level website for SQL
Hi Gurus
I want to improve my SQL skills, is there any website through which I can improve that skills.
Need some intermediate and advance level website for SQL.
appreciate your suggestion. Thanks
Regards
Shuif you have a lot of time you can follow some of the larger threads on AskTom. I think Mr. Kyte can do almost anything with SQL. And there are also some recurrent contributors as Stew Ashton provinding very interesting solutions.
Another option is to take a look at the answers in this forums: some participiants as Frank Kulash or Solomon Yakobson (to name just two of them) come up with astonishing pieces of SQL frequently. -
Need lens profile rokinon 14mm for sony nex7
Please does anyone know if there is a Lightroom 5 lens profile for Rokinon(aka Bower/Samyang) 14 mm for sony nex 7??
ThanksThe Adobe Lens Profile implementation is not camera model specific. Cameras with the same sensor size should theoretically be able to use the same lens profiles regardless of the camera make or model. Adobe also provides the capability of using lens profiles from larger sensor size (full-frame) cameras with images shot using smaller sensor (APS-C) camera models (i.e. Crop Factor). As best I can tell the Adobe and User created lens profiles are agnostic, except for image file type. Different lens profiles are required for raw and JPEG images. As long as the lens profile crop factor is the same or smaller than the target camera it should work just fine. The Sony Nex7 has a 1.5 Crop Factor sensor size, so any lens profile with a 1.5 to 1 crop factor should work. Lens profiles with the nearly same sensor size 1.6 crop factor should also work.
The Adobe Lens Profile Downloader lists numerous lens profiles for this lens under 'Camera Make' Nikon for both raw and JPEG. You could also use any of the lens profiles that appear under 'Camera Make' Canon.
1) Download and install the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader for Windows or Mac.
2) Launch the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader, select a suitable lens profile, and download it. Add as many as you like!
3) Close and reopen LR, select an image shot with the 14mm lens, go to Develop> Lens Corrections panel, and select 'Make' same as you downloaded (i.e. Nikon), and under 'Model' scroll down to the bottom of the list and you should see the downloaded profile(s). Test it with the 14mm images.
4) If satisfied select in the Lens Profile panel Setup> 'Save New Lens Profile Default.'
These profiles are created and submitted by users with varying degrees of technical-expertise. The lens profiles have a 'Rating,' based on some metric. Please keep in mind that 100% distortion and vignetting correction can actually make the image look worse, especially with a wide-angle lens. Most wide angle lenses have barrel type distortion and when corrected with the LR Lens Profile tool you will see corner "stretching," which creates cropping and volume anamorphosis. Images also tend to look more natural when there is a slight amount of vignetting left in the image. I typically use 0% Distortion and 50% Vignetting and only adjust them higher in images where it is visible. YMMV..... -
SAP PS Module Report, Help needed for the Right Logic.
Hi,
I have to develop a PS module Report . This spec of this report is when you enter , project # , month , date , proj type it should display all the projects and only the billing levels with different fiels like ITD cost, ITD sales, ytd cost, sales, awards etc etc.
Right now Iam getting the O/P : in the following manner, There are many fields I am just showing the desired ones which have to be changed.
Proj, Title, award, ITDsales, ITD cost , ytd sales, ytd costs,
14148, New prj 123 -- --- -
14148-B01, bill1 -
234 -
456 -
14148-B02, bill2 -
789 -
123 -
14148.001 wbs1 -
123 -
456
14148.001 wbs2 -
567 -
890
But for me the desired output must be only for project and the billing levels. It shouldnt be for WBS elements xxxx.001 and xxxx.002.
Desired output:
Proj, Title, award, ITDsales, ITD cost , ytd sales, ytd costs,
14148, New prj 123 -- 690 -
1346
14148-B01, bill1 -
234 -
456 -
14148-B02, bill2 -
789 -
123 -
The ITD costs and YTD costs must be added 123 + 567 = 690 and
456+890 = 1346.
And these values must come on the project level.
P.S: I can restrict the values for wbs elements , means I can filter them at PRPS table by giving prps-stufe LE 2. Then I wont get the wbs level, But I want the values of these to be added up and then show it on the project level.
Please go through this code and let me know where exactly I need to put the right logic to work in the desired manner.
Thanks in advance
Dan

How to find out profile optoins value for user from database?
I have PA debug enabled for a particular user in my ebusiness suite environment. I need to find out for what user is it enabled.
FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS shows that its enabled for user and responsibility level. But I am not able to find out for which user/responsibility is it enabled, as this only shows flags.
Can someone please tell me what table/view I need to check for that.Hi;
Please see:

Is an anti-virus needed for a new macbook pro?
Is an anti-virus needed for a new macbook pro with retina display?
1. This comment applies to malicious software ("malware") that's installed unwittingly by the victim of a network attack. It does not apply to software, such as keystroke loggers, that may be installed deliberately by an intruder who has hands-on access to the victim's computer. That threat is in a different category, and there's no easy way to defend against it. If you have reason to suspect that you're the target of such an attack, you need expert help.
If you find this comment too long or too technical, read only sections 5, 6, and 10.
OS X now implements three layers of built-in protection specifically against malware, not counting runtime protections such as execute disable, sandboxing, system library randomization, and address space layout randomization that may also guard against other kinds of exploits.
2. All versions of OS X since 10.6.7 have been able to detect known Mac malware in downloaded files, and to block insecure web plugins. This feature is transparent to the user, but internally Apple calls it "XProtect." The malware recognition database is automatically checked for updates once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders.
The following caveats apply to XProtect:
It can be bypassed by some third-party networking software, such as BitTorrent clients and Java applets.
It only applies to software downloaded from the network. Software installed from a CD or other media is not checked.
3. Starting with OS X 10.7.5, there has been a second layer of built-in malware protection, designated "Gatekeeper" by Apple. By default, applications and Installer packages downloaded from the network will only run if they're digitally signed by a developer with a certificate issued by Apple. Software certified in this way hasn't necessarily been tested by Apple, but you can be reasonably sure that it hasn't been modified by anyone other than the developer. His identity is known to Apple, so he could be held legally responsible if he distributed malware. That may not mean much if the developer lives in a country with a weak legal system (see below.)
Gatekeeper doesn't depend on a database of known malware. It has, however, the same limitations as XProtect, and in addition the following:
It can easily be disabled or overridden by the user.
A malware attacker could get control of a code-signing certificate under false pretenses, or could simply ignore the consequences of distributing codesigned malware.
An App Store developer could find a way to bypass Apple's oversight, or the oversight could fail due to human error.
For the reasons given above, App Store products, and other applications recognized by Gatekeeper as signed, are safer than others, but they can't be considered absolutely safe. "Sandboxed" applications may prompt for access to private data, such as your contacts, or for access to the network. Think before granting that access. OS X security is based on user input. Never click through any request for authorization without thinking.
4. Starting with OS X 10.8.3, a third layer of protection has been added: a "Malware Removal Tool" (MRT). MRT runs automatically in the background when you update the OS. It checks for, and removes, malware that may have evaded the other protections via a Java exploit (see below.) MRT also runs when you install or update the Apple-supplied Java runtime (but not the Oracle runtime.) Like XProtect, MRT is presumably effective against known attacks, but maybe not against unknown attacks. It notifies you if it finds malware, but otherwise there's no user interface to MRT.
5. XProtect, Gatekeeper, and MRT reduce the risk of malware attack, but they're not absolute protection. The first and best line of defense is always your own intelligence. With the possible exception of Java exploits, all known malware circulating on the Internet that affects a fully-updated installation of OS X 10.6 or later takes the form of so-called "trojan horses," which can only have an effect if the victim is duped into running them. The threat therefore amounts to a battle of wits between you and the malware attacker. If you're smarter than he thinks you are, you'll win.
That means, in practice, that you never use software that comes from an untrustworthy source, or that does something inherently untrustworthy. How do you know what is trustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install a “codec,” “plug-in,” "player," "extractor," or “certificate” that comes from that same site, or an unknown one, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim. (Some reputable websites did legitimately warn visitors who were infected with the "DNSChanger" malware. That exception to this rule no longer applies.)
Pirated copies or "cracks" of commercial software, no matter where they come from, are unsafe.
Software of any kind downloaded from a BitTorrent or from a Usenet binary newsgroup is unsafe.
Software that purports to help you do something that's illegal or that infringes copyright, such as saving streamed audio or video for reuse without permission, is unsafe. All YouTube "downloaders" are in this category, though not all are necessarily harmful.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. If it comes from any other source, it's unsafe.
Even signed applications, no matter what the source, should not be trusted if they do something unexpected, such as asking for permission to access your contacts, your location, or the Internet for no obvious reason.
6. Java on the Web (not to be confused with JavaScript, to which it's not related, despite the similarity of the names) is a weak point in the security of any system. Java is, among other things, a platform for running complex applications in a web page, on the client. That was always a bad idea, and Java's developers have proven themselves incapable of implementing it without also creating a portal for malware to enter. Past Java exploits are the closest thing there has ever been to a Windows-style virus affecting OS X. Merely loading a page with malicious Java content could be harmful.
Fortunately, client-side Java on the Web is obsolete and mostly extinct. Only a few outmoded sites still use it. Try to hasten the process of extinction by avoiding those sites, if you have a choice. Forget about playing games or other non-essential uses of Java.
Java is not included in OS X 10.7 and later. Discrete Java installers are distributed by Apple and by Oracle (the developer of Java.) Don't use either one unless you need it. Most people don't. If Java is installed, disable it — not JavaScript — in your browsers.
Regardless of version, experience has shown that Java on the Web can't be trusted. If you must use a Java applet for a task on a specific site, enable Java only for that site in Safari. Never enable Java for a public website that carries third-party advertising. Use it only on well-known, login-protected, secure websites without ads. In Safari 6 or later, you'll see a lock icon in the address bar with the abbreviation "https" when visiting a secure site.
Follow the above guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can practically be. The rest of this comment concerns what you should not do to protect yourself from malware.
7. Never install any commercial "anti-virus" or "Internet security" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good, if they do any good at all. Any database of known threats is always going to be out of date. Most of the danger is from unknown threats. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use one of the free anti-virus products in the Mac App Store — nothing else.
Why shouldn't you use commercial "anti-virus" products?
Their design is predicated on the nonexistent threat that malware may be injected at any time, anywhere in the file system. Malware is downloaded from the network; it doesn't materialize from nowhere.
In order to meet that nonexistent threat, the software modifies or duplicates low-level functions of the operating system, which is a waste of resources and a common cause of instability, bugs, and poor performance.
By modifying the operating system, the software itself may create weaknesses that could be exploited by malware attackers.
8. An anti-malware product from the App Store, such as "ClamXav," doesn't have these drawbacks. That doesn't mean it's entirely safe. It may report email messages that have "phishing" links in the body, or Windows malware in attachments, as infected files, and offer to delete or move them. Doing so will corrupt the Mail database. The messages should be deleted from within the Mail application.
An anti-virus app is not needed, and should not be relied upon, for protection against OS X malware. It's useful only for detecting Windows malware. Windows malware can't harm you directly (unless, of course, you use Windows.) Just don't pass it on to anyone else.
A Windows malware attachment in email is usually easy to recognize. The file name will often be targeted at people who aren't very bright; for example:
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!!!!!H0TBABEZ4U!!!!!!!.AVI♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.exe
Anti-virus software may be able to tell you which particular virus or trojan it is, but do you care? In practice, there's seldom a reason to use the software unless a network administrator requires you to do it.
The ClamXav developer won't try to "upsell" you to a paid version of the product. Other developers may do that. Don't be upsold. For one thing, you should not pay to protect Windows users from the consequences of their choice of computing platform. For another, a paid upgrade from a free app will probably have the disadvantages mentioned in section 7.
9. It seems to be a common belief that the built-in Application Firewall acts as a barrier to infection, or prevents malware from functioning. It does neither. It blocks inbound connections to certain network services you're running, such as file sharing. It's disabled by default and you should leave it that way if you're behind a router on a private home or office network. Activate it only when you're on an untrusted network, for instance a public Wi-Fi hotspot, where you don't want to provide services. Disable any services you don't use in the Sharing preference pane. All are disabled by default.
10. As a Mac user you don't have to live in fear that your computer is going to be infected every time you install an application, read email, or visit a web page. But neither should you have the false idea that you will always be safe, no matter what you do. The greatest harm done by security software is precisely its selling point: it makes people feel safe. They may then feel safe enough to take risks from which the software doesn't protect them. Nothing can lessen the need for safe computing practices. -
Time-Profile-Level Error on Activation
Hello,
I am in the process of creating an S&OP Model and so far created the following.
1...Master Data & Attributes
2...TimeProfile with 2 Levels(Daily and Weekly)
3..Planning Area with Storage Time Profile Level as 'Daily'
4...Two Planning levels at Daily and Weekly levels
5. Two Stored Key Figures. One at Daily Planning Level and the other at Weekly Planning Level.
Now, on activating the Planning Area I keep getting the following error.
'Time-Profile-Level and Time-Profile-Level root attribute for plan-level "WEEKLYCUSTLOCPROD" are not consistent'
When I delete the Key Figure that I created at the Weekly Planning Level, it seems to be activating fine.
Can someone tell me what is it that I am doing wrong here. I need to create atleast 2 keyfigures at the weekly planning level.
Thanks,
GeethaHi Geetha,
Try going back into your planning area and checking if your time profile for the planning level has a 'root' defined.
In my experience, upon creating planning levels you must explicitly check a root on the time profile.
This is different behavior than when selecting regular Master Data Types to include in your planning level. Those default to having the key of the MDT being set as the 'root' for that planning level. -
Multi-level Categorization for Transaction type "Appointment"
Good day, Experts,
I have been struggling in this solution for a while. Now here is the situation.
1. Business Area: BUS_ACTIVITY have been activated in sytem.
I have copied standard Appointment '0000' into 'ZAPP'. I guess there is no further setting needed in this step.
2. I have created new Business Transaction Profile for my Appoint 'ZAPP', activated multi-level categorization for it.
3. I had problems on the Categorization Profile.
I copied standard profile 'DEFAULT' into 'ZAPP2LVL', but I'm not sure what 'Ctxt.ID' should be used when added 'Categorization Context'. I have tried use 'BA' to represent 'Business Activity', but system keep warning me the 'ZAPP2LVL' was not from allowed namespace.
4. I have created Categorization Schema with 'IC manger' role already, and activated it.
ID: ID_41
Application Area
Appication ID: Business Activity
Parameters: Subject Profile
Subject Profile: Well defined before.
Please at least tell me if it's possible to do multilevel categorization for Appointment, Thanks a lot.No category modeler for win IC
