RMAN backup in RAC failing with error ORA-19566

Hi all, i have 2 node RAC and i am trying to take rman backup of the database which is in ASM filesystem.
There is a corruption in SYSAUX file and rman is failing to take backup of the sysaux datafile and error thrown at the end like
piece handle=/home/oracle/orabackup/BLOOM_LVL0_20120627_1qnejueh_s58_p1 tag=TAG20120627T185538 comment=NONE

*ORA-19566: exceeded limit of 0 corrupt blocks for file +DATA/bloom/datafile/sysaux.257.775475317*
Then i tried to validate the backup in rman of the datafile sysaux nad fired the following query
SQL> SELECT * FROM v$database_block_corruption;
FILE# BLOCK# BLOCKS CORRUPTION_CHANGE# CORRUPTIO
3 32011 1 0 ALL ZERO
3 32049 40 0 ALL ZERO
3 32034 1 0 ALL ZERO
3 28964 1 1399837 LOGICAL
3 32015 2 0 ALL ZERO
and found all the blocks in the table WRH$_SQL_PLAN.
Then dropped the table, and tried to take backup of the database and it is failing again with the same error..
ANY SOLUTION TO TAKE BACKUP OF THE DATABASE.
anyhow we can SET MAXCORRUPT FOR DATAFILE 3 to value, but does this works all time...
Thanks in advance,
TEJAS

Both are good suggestions, but

    Solution :  As in above case, I have started the database in mount and then alter it to the open mode but it doesnot work out. After some analysis ,troubleshooting and googling, we have decided to flush the shared pool  component of the SGA . So, we have started the database in mount stage and then flush the shared pool and further alter it to open stage . Below are the steps performed to solve this issue .
    SQL> shut immediate

    Also Can anyone let me know if it is possible to run CDC Set-up without DBA Privileges. i,e once the CDC Set-up is done, if we revoke the DBA Privilege will the Capture work properly. I know that for creating Change Table, Set and Source we require DBA Access. But once the set-up is done, do we really require DBA Privileges?

    Hi Shashi,
    As CDC is built on top of Oracle streams framework, for better responses you can post this ques under {forum:id=70} category.
    "ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column" is usually encountered for NUMBER datatype columns. At what level did you check the datatypes? Please confirm if the precision(for NUMBER datatype) are also similar.
    Please attach output for the following queries:
    select error_message from dba_capture;
    select error_number, error_message from dba_apply_error;Please re-validate the data types and then run the same API with remove_ddl = 'Y' option, like this:
    exec DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH.ALTER_CHANGE_SET(change_set_name=>'CHANGE_SET_NAME' , recover_after_error=>'Y' , remove_ddl=>'Y');
    Hope it helps!
    Cheers,

    I assume you installed Oracle as "Administrator" user. If so, make sure you are running the job from the same user. Optionally open "services.msc" and go to the "ORCL Service" or whatever it may and check "Log on" tab. It should be "logon as" value should be "Local system". If you are using a domain then give credentials accordingly. Make sure you are part of "DBA" group.
    The ORA-12546 TNS:permission denied points to "Insufficient permissions to trace/log files" - check the trace/log destination is writable and requisite permissions are given.

  • Expdp fails with error ORA-39006: internal error writing on a windows share

    Hi!
    I need to get the following configuration working:
    Linux Server (CentOS 5 32 bits) with Oracle 11.2.0.1.0
    Windows Server 2003 SP2 32 bits.
    On the windows server I have created a user called oracle, who is member of oinstall and dba groups. (On Linux username, and group membership is the same).
    After that, I share a directory on D:\data_pump (I gave the full control of directory to oracle user). I mount the windows share on my linux as follows:
    mount -t cifs //winserver/data_pump /u04/oradata/data_pump -o user=oracle,password="pass",uid=oracle,gid=oinstall
    As the linux oracle user I'm capable of create and edit files, but:
    I connect to my database, create the directory called DATA_PUMP pointing to my cifs mount point, and, after that, I issue the following expdp sentence:
    expdp system DIRECTORY=DATA_PUMP DUMPFILE=test4.dmp LOGFILE=test4.log FULL=yes

  • Package compile faile with error ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication..

    Hi There,
    We're trying to compile a package and we're getting this error that we're not sure how to debug and/or tackle. Your assistance is highly appreciated.
    create or replace

    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
    Process ID: 4252
    Session ID: 1149 Serial number: 5910
    The package use to compile without any issues; also we have it working in other environments. We can't see any differences at this stage.
    Oracle Version:11.2.0.1 x64
    OS: Windows 2008 Server R2
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Thanks

    I have tried dropping the package and re-compiling it but to no avail. I can compile other packages/procedures/functions without any issues.
    Also, trying to run either EXEC UTL_RECOMP.recomp_parallel(4, 'SCHEMA_NAME'); or @?/rdbms/admin/UTLRP.SQL gives the following erros:

  • Create database fails with error ORA-01505: error in adding log files

    hi all,
    hope someone can help me out, I'm trying to create a database using a SQL script, the content of the script is:
    create database testora
    user sys identified by oracle
    user system identified by oracle
    logfile group 1 ('/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testora/redo01a.log', '/u02/app/oracle/oradata/testora/redo01b.log') size 100m blocksize 512 reuse,
         group 2 ('/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testora/redo02a.log', '/u02/app/oracle/oradata/testora/redo02b.log') size 100m blocksize 512 reuse,
         group 3 ('/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testora/redo03a.log', '/u02/app/oracle/oradata/testora/redo03b.log') size 100m blocksize 512 reuse,
    maxlogfiles 5
    maxlogmembers 5
    maxdatafiles 100
    character set US7ASCII
    national character set AL16UTF16
    extent management local
    datafile '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testora/system01.dbf' size 400m reuse
    sysaux datafile '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testora/sysaux01.dbf' size 400m reuse
    default tablespace users
         datafile '/u02/app/oracle/oradata/testora/users01.dbf' size 500m reuse autoextend on maxsize unlimited
    default temporary tablespace tempts1
         tempfile '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testora/temp01.dbf' size 20m reuse autoextend on maxsize 4g
    undo tablespace undotbs1
         datafile '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testora/undotbs01.dbf' size 200m reuse autoextend on maxsize unlimited
    It fails in creating the database with the following output:
    SQL> @/home/oracle/Oracle_Scripts/testora_db_script.sql
    create database testora
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced
    ORA-01501: CREATE DATABASE failed
    ORA-01505: error in adding log files
    ORA-01184: logfile group 1 already exists
    Process ID: 3486
    Session ID: 1 Serial number: 3

    sorry to revive this thread but i have one more issue with this. I created a database with DBCA insetead of CREATE DATABASE command and selected option for Fast Recovery Area space. This automatically set initialization parameter db_recovery_file_dest and db_recovery_file_dest_size, but did not create a OMF redo log group, but instead created three redo log groups with 1 member each.
    select * from v$logfile returns:
    1          ONLINE     /u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb2/redo01.log     NO
    2          ONLINE     /u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb2/redo02.log     NO
    3          ONLINE     /u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb2/redo03.log     NO
    Any idea why if creating a database with create database command and specifying db_recovery_file_dest creates an OMF redo log group and with DBCA it doesn't?

  • RMAN backup on RAC

    Hi,
    DB=10.2.0.4 OS=RHL (RAC with 2 nodes db01,db02). Following are the types of automated RMAN backups taken on db01.
    - OCR
    - Voting Disk
    - Talespaces Snapshot
    - Archivelog (every hour)
    - Backup Incremental level 0 (SUNDAY)
    -- backup incrementa level 1 (Mon-SAT)
    - Autobackup of Control file and SPFILE (CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON)
    Two main questions please. First, are these backups/backup types are enough FOR FULL RESTORE when talking about RMAN backup on RAC environment with 2 nodes? If not please suggest what else I need to backup?
    Secondly, backup home location is /rman which I can see on db01 ONLY. This /rman directory I cannot see on db02. My question is that In case of db02 failure can I restore from this /rman directory? or do I need to automate backup schedules also on db02 separately?

    Hi,
    THanks alot for your feedback. Makes my life easier :) . But actually I started studying this all subject because of the following error message in the log file. I found out about this error that doesn't seem to harm. Just wait for the job to finish or it will sort out automatically. Here are the lines from the log file.
    Fehler in Backuplogs gefunden:/oracle/log/fcp11-backup-2300.log: RMAN-00571:
    ===========================================================brRMAN-00569: ===============
    ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============brRMAN-00571:

    Control File and SPFILE Autobackup command on c1 channel at 02/08/2012
    06:10:41brORA-00230: operation disallowed: snapshot control file enqueue unavailableI studied few important lines from one of my book, Oracle 11g RMAN backup and recovery (Roberg G Freeman) that I am going to write after the following MAIN ISSUE:
    Node 1
    RMAN> show all;
    CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '/oracle/product/10.2.0/db/dbs/snapcf_fp11.f'; # default
    Node 2
    RMAN> show all;
    CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '/oracle/product/10.2.0/db/dbs/snapcf_fp12.f'; # default
    Thing which I just noticed regarding the above RMAN error is that snapcf_fp11.f can be seen on the Node 1 on todays date but snapcf_fp12.f was only on 10th jan.
    [oracle@db01dbs]$ ls -lrth
    -rw-r----- 1 oracle oinstall  20M Feb 27 15:10 snapcf_fcp11.f
    [oracle@db02dbs]$ ls -lrth
    -rw-r----- 1 oracle oinstall  20M Jan 10 13:28 snapcf_fcp12.fTHe few lines from the book which I mentioned above are: (Though you might not need to read those lines):
    "You need to move the snapshot control file to a shared location if you plan to run backups from more than one node. If you do not move the snapshot control file to a shared file system such as OCFS or an ASM disk group, then you must make sure that the local destination is identical on all nodes."
    My question is of course, how to sort out the above log file error. Becuse in our case, backups are run only from one node, and snaphost control file is not being moved to ASM disk groups. Local destination is also same on both the Nodes, isn't it (with different names). Why on Node 2 last snapshot was taken on 10th jan while on Node 1 it is todays date which seems fine.
    Control file and SPFILE which I noticed are stored on ASM disk groups also, so being shared between the two Nodes.
    (Sanme names/same location for control file and SPFILE on Node 1 and Node 2)
    Control file:
    +REDO1/fp1/controlfile/current.256.652803827
    +DATA1/fp1/controlfile/current.441.652869697
    SPFILE:
    +DATA1/fp1/spfilefcp1.oraPlease suggest.
    Thank you.

  • How to RMAN backup in RAC with OCFS

    hi,
    Iam using RAC 10.2.0 in windows 2003 server with OCFS .. i want to take backup using RMAN utility. can any sugest me how take RMAN backup..
    Thanks
    harish

    The only real consideration in RMAN on RAC is a one-off configuration issue as to whether the snapshot controlfile is written to the shared disk or not (it needs to be on the shared disk, or on a location that is common to all nodes, otherwise a backup that includes the control file will fail at the point a node tries to write it to a destination directory that only made sense to another node).
    Otherwise, there's not a lot that's different about an RMAN backup in RAC versus non-RAC.
    Simple answer, as a result: open a DOS window, type rman target /, then type backup database;
