RMAN Channel - File split

Let's say I have four channels allocated for a full backup.
How does it allocates the space distribution accross. If I have more space on one mount point, how do I redirect more backup piece to that location?
ALLOCATE CHANNEL C1 TYPE DISK format '/d01/test/ora_df%chr%t_s%chr%s_s%chr%p.BKP' maxopenfiles 3 rate 6M maxpiecesize 4G;
ALLOCATE CHANNEL C2 TYPE DISK format '/d02/test/ora_df%chr%t_s%chr%s_s%chr%p.BKP' maxopenfiles 4 rate 8M maxpiecesize 4G;

  • File Split to Multiple IDocs

    Hi all
I have a problem with splitting an flat file into multiple IDocs. My attempt was to do this without BPM as mentioned in some similar posts, but I am not sure about how to get the file splitted. The flat file has multiple orders with multiple line items and each order should create a single IDoc of type ORDERS.ORDERS05. I have imported the IDoc as external definition with IDOC being 0...unbounded. My input file looks as following:
    ORDER1|LINE1|SOMETHING
    ORDER1|LINE2|SOMETHING
    ORDER1|LINE3|SOMETHING
    ORDER2|LINE1|SOMETHING
    ORDER2|LINE2|SOMETHING
I have been getting this into the appropriate PI XML structure like:
    MT_Order
    ...OrderRecordSet  (0...unbounded)
    ......OrderRecord    (1...1)
How do I get this into multiple IDocs for each ORDERx with its n LINE items? I was thinking of SplitByValue with value change on PO, but this doesn't seem to work.
    Any feedback appreciated. Thanks,
    Daniel

    Dear Daniel,
You can achieve the required by using MultiMapping without BPM. Pls refer to the following blog for the same,
    /people/jin.shin/blog/2006/02/07/multi-mapping-without-bpm--yes-it146s-possible
Apart from the above, if allowd you can changed the IDOC occurrence and change the XSD of the IDOC and you can achieve the requirement with the simple message mapping.
    Thanks

  • XML File splitting in PI

    Hi all,
We have a requirement that the receiving application can accept files only of size 2MB. So this is a limitation from the receiving application
The source system is SAP ECC system and the receiving application is a legacy application.
Technically it is a ABAP Proxy to File scenario. Receiving application can accept files only in XML format.
SAP ABAP Proxy code is written in such a way to read all the records in a SAP table and the full table load is sent as an proxy xml message to PI, PI has to split this  full xml file  in to chunks based on some condition and then transfer it to receiving legacy application.
Can we achieve file splitting in PI for XML files based on no.of records or size.
Please share your inputs/pointers to provide the best solution to this requirement.
    regards,
    Younus

    Hi,
Yes this can be done by the amount of records you send through at a time.
So lets there is 10000 records. You might only send 200 at a time and that will keep it under the 2mb limitation.
This is a simple if function on your nodes. Please see the links below that would help you.

  • How to find total size of RMAN backup files?

    Hi there
    env: Oracle 10gR2, RHEL 64bit
My client has a production database where rman backups are taken: Level-0 backup every Sunday and Level-1 Monday thru Saturday.
I have very limited access to this production database because it is being managed by third party and they won't provide me my required info (not sure why). I do not have access to their rman repository. To connect to the database I have to login to an intermediate server and then login to the database server. I have no access to Enterprise Manager. So in short, my access is limited. I want to gather the information on total size of rman backup files - both for a Level-0 and Level-1 backups separately. I understand that this info can be retrieved from rman repository. Are there any data dictionary views/tables where I may get this info?

  • Idoc to File Split Scenario..

    HI Experts,
My scenario is Idoc to File split scenario..
Idoc will be triggered from the SAP ECC system and at the target side we need to drop two text files at the ftp directory.
so Idoc data needs to be splitted and to be dropped in two differient files in the target FTP directory..
So can any one suggest how to go ahead with the scenario..
    Thanks,
    --Kishore.

    Hi,
In the idoc, some of the data will go to onefile and some goes to other files..
the structures of the two files are differient..
There is no condinal spliting here every idoc contents should be mapped according to the requirement and dropped as two files.. at the target end.
    for ex:
    Idoc
    field1
    fileld2
    field3
    field4
    in the out put side
    file1 should contain
    field1
    field3
    field4
    file2 should contain
    field1
    field2
    fileld3
This is what the requirement, if you are not getting reply back with your queries..
    Thanks,

  • Open a HDR 32 bits per channel file in photoshop elements.

Photoshop elements 4 with a hdr 32 bits per channel file in rgb mode opened and being converted to 8 bits using the built in hdr conversion dialog.

If you want to open RAW files with JavaScript I would recommend you record the process with ScriptingListener.plugin and use the resulting code.
It is possible with the Document Object Model, too, though.
To see the properties you can refer to ESTK Help > Object Model Viewer or Photoshop-CS6-JavaScript-Ref.pdf.
But if Muppet Mark’s advice applies maybe you can stick with AppleScript for this.

  • File-splitting based on content.

    Hi Experts,
    This question is regarding file-splitting.
Its a BAI2 file with multiple records in it.
a)I need to split the file based on an identifier and make those many sub-files ( with header and trailer added to the file )
b)And can we ensure we have the same name for the files? ( with a count suffixed in the end )
The forum talks about BPM, Enhanced Interface/Receiver Determination, Message Mapping split etc..
Which would be the best approach for this?
    Please advise.
    Thank you,
    Rakesh.

    Hi,
Using Enhanced Interface/Receiver Determination approach is best one.
1.If your version is 7.1 and above, you can also try using enhanced interface determination. Please go through the below link
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/90dcc6f4-0829-2d10-b0b2-c892473f1571?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true
2.In the Receiver Determination, you need to select " Extended" in the Type of Receeiver determination.

  • Restore database to another host - I have only rman backup files

    Hi all,
The PC where Oracle was installed is crashed.
I have only the RMAN backup pieces in other computer.
I want to restore/recover this RMAN backup to other PC.
I know the commands, restore database, recover database,
but I've always used these commands with rman into existing rman

How can I restore/recover database to other PC using these files?
The steps are? create other database, create a rman user, register
the rman backup files in this new rman, and restore these files
in this new database already created with the same name?
    thank you!!!!

  • Transfer Responder to Channel - File Export

    Hi everybody!
I am working on campaign automation and I would like to ask if workflow "Transfer Responder to Channel" works with communication channel "File export". It worked for Leads, but it does not start with file export.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
This workflow can be used for file export provided you have a preceeding element which is maintained in such a way that it resuts in some kind of respondents, for eg the previous element can have a survey, and in the succeding element you can say transfer responder to channel. then it will collect all the BPs who have responded to your survey.
    Hope it helps

Enterprise Manager was reconfigure with create repos

However, if you recreated the database, then your database will now have a new DBID after it was recreated. You can see the current DBID of the database to see if it matches the one above.
If it is a standby database and it is logical standby, then it will also have a different DBID.

    EXPORT FILE을 SPLIT하여 받는 방법
    =================================
    PURPOSE
이 자료는 export시 2GB이상의 export dump file을 만들지 못하는 제약사항에 대하여 여러 export file로 나누어 받는 방법을 설명한다.
    Explanation
    Export command:
    echo|exp file=>(split -b 1024m - expdmp-) userid=scott/tiger tables=X
    사용예> echo|exp file=>(split -b 1024m - expdmp-) userid=scott/tiger log=scott.log
위와 같이 split하여 export를 받을 경우 file name은 expdmp-aa, expdmp-ab...expdmp-az, expdmp-ba... 으로 생성된다.
    Import command:
    echo|imp file=<(cat expdmp-*) userid=scott/tiger tables=X
    사용예>echo|imp file=<(cat expdmp-*) userid=scott/tiger ignore=y commit=y
    split와 compress를 같이 사용해도 가능하다.
    Export command:
    echo|exp file=>(compress|split -b 1024m - expdmp-) userid=scott/tiger tables=X
    Import command:
    echo|imp file=<(cat expdmp-*|uncompress) userid=scott/tiger tables=X
    Export command:
    1) Make the pipe
    mknod /tmp/exp_pipe p
    2) Compress in background
    compress < /tmp/exp_pipe > export.dmp.Z &
    -or-
    cat p | compress > output.Z &
    -or-
    cat p > output.file & )
    3) Export to the pipe
    exp file=/tmp/exp_pipe userid=scott/tiger tables=X
    Import command:
    1) Make the pipe
    mknod /tmp/imp_pipe p
    2) uncompress in background
    uncompress < export.dmp.Z > /tmp/imp_pipe &

  • RMAN / channels and device types

    Hello,
    I have a question.
In the RMAN documentation (for instance in "Oracle Database Backup and Recovery Advanced User's Guide 10g Release 2") one can find the description / instructions how
to allocate RMAN channels and define the device types.
There are 2x described device types - DISK and SBT (Tape).
    My question is:
IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE A PIPE AS A RMAN DEVICE TYPE ?
If it is not possible to define direct, perhaps there is a possibility to define it
indirect and to use a pipe to write data.
    Regards.
    Neitour

Thank you for the link. Is it this RMAN 'duplicate database' option, what you
would like to recommend me to use?
I think, it is not exactly what I really need. For 'duplicate database' I will need
to have as a source a backup of the database and not a running productive
    database.
    Is it correct?
If it is, it is not what I'd like to do.
I'd like to make a copy of a productive running database, which is placed on ASM
storage, to another server creating such a way a database also placed on ASM
storage. I'd like to do it directly. I think the best possible way can be
    RMAN / BACKUP --> PIPE --> RMAN / RESTORE.
The issue is - how can I configure RMAN to write BACKUP into a PIPE and
to read data for RESTORE from a PIPE.
    Any ideas?

  • SQL to find rman backup files required for recovery?

    Hi folks,
I'm looking for a sql statement that I can use to query the database and return a list of the RMAN backup files needed for a successful recovery based on a SCN or a point in time. I want to do it through SQL (not though rman) because I want to script an automated refresh process. My databases are backed up online, so I would need any archive log backups done during the database backup as well. So for example...
    I do a database backup
Then do an archive log backup.
Pass a SQL script the lowest and highest scn numbers during the backup.
It returns a list of the rman backup pieces needed to do a successful recovery.
I've got a script, below, which shows the lowest and highest scn during the last full backup (all datafiles which exist have been backed up), if someone understands what I'm looking for and has done something similar, I would really appreciate any insight you may have. What I'd want to get back from the SQL is the names of the rman backup files (handles) which would be needed to get the database recovered to the highest scn during the backup.
    SELECT MIN(VBD.CHECKPOINT_CHANGE#), MAX(VBD.CHECKPOINT_CHANGE#)
    FROM V$BACKUP_DATAFILE VBD, V$DATAFILE VDF,
    (SELECT
    CREATION_CHANGE#,
    MAX(COMPLETION_TIME) COMPLETION_TIME
    FROM V$BACKUP_DATAFILE
    WHERE CREATION_CHANGE# IN (
    SELECT CREATION_CHANGE# FROM V$DATAFILE)
    GROUP BY CREATION_CHANGE#
    ) QUERY1
    WHERE VBD.CREATION_CHANGE# = VDF.CREATION_CHANGE#
    AND VBD.CREATION_CHANGE# = QUERY1.CREATION_CHANGE#
    AND VBD.COMPLETION_TIME = QUERY1.COMPLETION_TIME;
Thanks very much for your time,
    -Adam vonNieda

In case anyone's wondering, here's the answer. The following query returns the min and max SCN numbers contained in the last online backup.
    SELECT MIN(VBD.CHECKPOINT_CHANGE#), MAX(VBD.CHECKPOINT_CHANGE#)
    FROM V$BACKUP_DATAFILE VBD, V$DATAFILE VDF,
    (SELECT
    CREATION_CHANGE#,
    MAX(COMPLETION_TIME) COMPLETION_TIME
    FROM V$BACKUP_DATAFILE
    WHERE CREATION_CHANGE# IN (
    SELECT CREATION_CHANGE# FROM V$DATAFILE)
    GROUP BY CREATION_CHANGE#
    ) QUERY1
    WHERE VBD.CREATION_CHANGE# = VDF.CREATION_CHANGE#
    AND VBD.CREATION_CHANGE# = QUERY1.CREATION_CHANGE#
    AND VBD.COMPLETION_TIME = QUERY1.COMPLETION_TIME;
This next one gets the session key for that backup.
    Select distinct session_key from v$backup_datafile_details
    where checkpoint_change# >= <min scn# from above> and checkpoint_change# <= <max scn# from above>;
And finally, this one returns all files written out during that RMAN session, which includes control files, data files, and archived redo logs
    Select handle from v$backup_piece_details
    where session_key = <session key from above> order by completion_time;
