"roll up to bars"
I am new to all this.
I just used FCP laid a video onto DigiBeta tape. It had bars in the beginning.
The client wrote back and said "the tape does not have enough roll up to bars."
Any idea what this means? Very confused.

No...Bars run from 58:30 to 59:30, then black for 15 seconds, then a 10 second slate (containing name of show, production company, running time, date, audio configuration and any other pertinent info), then another 5 seconds of black, then picture starts at 1:00:00:00.
That is a BASIC setup. Every network has it's own requirements. Some require a countdown from 10 to 2, then 2 seconds of black. And many other variations. But what I listed is the basic setting.

The navigation element is not complex at all. And you can easily change links inside Dreamweaver without ever opening Photoshop.

URGENT!!VALUES DISPLAY IN CHART BARS & COLOR THEMES !!

I want the chart to be displayed with the their values but u can see the values only by rolling over each bars.
Could anyone help me out what are the solutions to be carried out???Is there any options in the EP itself to enter the values displayed automatically when execting it????
what about the color themes to be changed for each bars as per user requirement in EP???

Few options:
1. if you are using query designer to create query and displaying it in the web analyser and choose graph there, you cant really change the colors of the graphs.
In that case you have to create the web template in the WAD for the same query in BI and make color selections in the graph control in WAD.
2.If you dont want to use WAD, you can use visual composer and try out various options of its chart control. you also have animations possible in visual composer. VC is totally in EP and you dont have to do much on BI except for the query creation.

I Have this video that I spent time on editing. it is 1:30 long. when I try saving it to my camera roll, the export bar won't move at all, it is at 0%. I tried leaving it somewhat overnight, when I came back, it is still stuck at 0%. I refreshed the app a few times but it still won't work. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but please try answering it!
Already tried that numerous times. It won't allow the search icon to drop after its been dragged. The other icons will drop. When I try the default set, everything drops except for the search icon. Its strange. I was thinking there's a corrupt file somewhere.

Odd graphics problem, eventually leads to forced reboot, or even BSOD
I am fairly certain that this is firefox related, or plug in or maybe compatability issue, however I'm getting weird blocky graphics. which occasionlly seem to begin from a flash frame within a page, but I can't say this is 100% the cause. It looks like small multicolored boxes that are in odd patterns. and causes other odd graphics, it gets worse the longer I let it set. One time for the heck of it I rolled the scroll bar up and down about 10 times very quickly and it caused a BSOD. These odd graphics do not ever appear if I don't open Firefox (have been using IE today) but they do not disappear if I see them and then shut down Firefox. Usually I'm forced to reboot the computer because they take over too much of the screen, I can't see anything. It does change though, when I move windows and such, they are not limited to the Firefox window and spread to the empty desktop too.
Checked settings for Flash and I couldn't find hardware acceleration. 1st tab on Settings Manager is "Storage" and gives options for saving information on my computer ie. "Allow sites to save information on this computer"
2nd tab is Camera and Mic "Ask me when a site wants to use the camera or microphone"
3rd is Playback "Ask me when a site wants to use peer-assisted networking"
4th (last) is Advanced "Check for updates automatically" a couple other settings but no acceleration. -
IPod and computer not recognizing hookup from USB cable
I got my ipod in september and havent had any problems. recently, my computer had to go in to be fixed cuz it was overrun by viruses. during that time i used my dads computer to charge up my ipod. he doesn't have itunes, but i charged it anyway. i got my computer back and had to reinstall itunes cuz it wasnt fully functional. now it works fine, but whenever i plug my ipod/usb cable into the computer, it makes two blippy sounds but other than that doesn't register that i plugged it in. my ipod screen lights up, but thats all. i really want to get some new songs onto my ipod. help plz!!!!!!
I got the same problem with my ipod 3rd gen. before but I was successful to solve it. All you have to do is click on Start and go to control panel --> double click on "system" --> at the top of the "system hardware" window, there are 6 tabs, click on the "Hardware" tab --> click on "Device manager" button in the device manager setting. A new window "Device manager" will appear. Roll the scroll bar down till you see the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". double click on it. A list of controllers will appear. You would be most likely to see this line "Apple USB storage" with a little yellow triangle symbol infront of it. Double click on it. Go to "driver" tab and click on "rollback driver" button. And tada ... youre done! Now your computer Should recognize your Ipod no matter what.

Initially we have the environment as below:-
Production :-
Server1 : AIX Environment manager (dealing with conductor, web, db)
Server2 : NT Node manager (dealing with outlook)
Development :-
Server3 : NT Environment manager (dealing with conductor, web, db)
Server4 : NT Node manager (dealing with outlook)
Currently, we intended to change the production environment via
changing the Server1 to Server3, as the new environment
manager, while the node manager unchanged.
Things that we've done in Server2, the node manager for
production environment:-
1) Pointing to Server3 instead of Server1, by changing Forte
Control Panel and changing registry entry.
2) Re-deploy the needed libraries in the new environment, so
that it can has the updated version.
3) Re-olegen the vb component.
4) Re-deploy the whole application.
However, we're facing the following problems/error messages
for the newly deployed Forte application:
1) Failed to bind to object named (/wfuseraccessobj/odbso/1)
2) Failed to bind to object named (/wfuseraccessobj/emailso/1)
These errors are actually refer to the libraries that used by
Conductor in order to perform database retrieval, and emailing
functions. These functions were worked properly in the initial
environments.
NOTE: The first error could be okay when refreshing the internet browser
(as our system is a web-based system), somehow it keeps on occurring every
now and then.
Please advice on this matter and reply ASAP as the project
delivery is crucial for our side.

Yes. I organize all my film rolls by name. If I import new pictures that don't fit into an existing film roll name I create a new film roll with a name appropriate to the theme of the new pictures. No problem with this.
However, if I import pictures at a later date that I want to move to an existing film roll, there is a problem if scrolling is required to bring the existing film roll into view in the display pane.
For example, I have a film roll called "Flowers & Plants". I later import a roll that contains some pictures that I want to move to the Flowers & Plants roll. The Flowers & Plants roll is not visible in the display pane so scrolling is necessary. I select and drag the new pictures up (the new film roll is always at the bottom of the display pane) to reveal the Flowers & Plants film roll. However, the film rolls scroll by so fast it is virtually impossible to stop on the Flowers & Plants roll's title bar.
This was not a problem with earlier versions of iPhoto on slower Macs. I really appreciate the much improved iPhoto/Mac performance but I wish there were some way to control this aspect.

How can I setup ?? a second website for playing around and testing things I like to do.
I can setup a TEST page in my website that I already have, BUT when things go wrong I will probably loose everything.
I like to test some buttons, roll-overs, navigation bar, pictures in action, etc ...
So, how can I dot this?
DimaxumI prefer to build each website on a separate domain file.
To create a new, blank one, drag your domain file from Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb into the trash and launch iWeb to create a new one. Save this and either rename the Domain.sites2 file to something like Test.sites2 or put it in a separate folder.
After doing this, remember to retrieve your original Domain file from the trash.
To launch an individual site just double click its Domain file.
This method of creating a new Domain file is a preferable to duplicating your old one and deleting all the pages as it avoids the possibility of future Domain file corruption.
Keeping your test pages on a separate file avoids the possibility of polluting your main website files with the disasters of experimentation! It also makes it a lot faster to load and publish. -
Hi. I'm stumped. I have a project that's about 1:33:00 long. But today I opened it and I can't see the first hour. The left locator will only go as far back as 59:42:00. The bar ruler starts at 1, but the 1 is at 1:00:00.
I'm really hoping this is something easy and obvious that I just don't know about since I'm new to Logic (after many years with Cubase).

As PKX mentioned, do a Save As. Alternatively, Alt-Drag the project folder so you've got a complete backup. OK, let's start.
You say that the left locator goes back only to 59:42. I take it your song is at 160 BPM. Can you confirm that?
Open: Media > Bin
Are all your audio files there? If so, the worst you'll have to do is recreate your project using them.
Don't worry about the SMPTE starting at 1:00:00 - that's quite normal. Videographers like to start the video work at 1:00:00 because that allows them to have pre-roll headers (colour bars, countdown etc) and, if their video started at 0:00:00 then Professor Einstein would like to know about how they do that, negative time and so on.
Something that might help is the Undo History. Use Edit > Undo History
Have a look in there (scroll around but don't click on any of the items in the list). Can you see anything that might have deleted huge chunks of audio?
In the top right hand corner, there's a box marked "Drag". What's the setting in that box? That affects what happens when you delete things. If it's Shuffle L, then if you delete the middle three audio regions n a track, it shuffles the right hand one up to the left. That might account for how your later audio got to the beginning of the file, if you accidentally deleted stuff.
If none of these help, you might be able to rebuild your project, assuming the audio files are still in the Audio Bin.
Let us know how you've got on with the above suggestions.

Is it just me or Logic Express 8 has a bug on the display of hours in the SMPTE region of the Transport Bar? It displays '01' hours even when the playhead is at the first seconds of a project. Shouldn't it display '00'?

spinnnNot a bug. This is standard protocol for SMPTE. It allows one to perform a pre-roll (start before bar 0) to allow synchronized devices to lock before the song start. SMPTE 'rolls over' to 00:00:00:00 after 24 hours- many devices stop at 24 hrs, some hiccup at the roll-over. Starting at 01:00:00:00 is SOP, because it makes handling SMPTE 'hits' easier to manage.

Server Side Includes and Javascript
Can one safely include javascript in a server-side include
(SSI) file? It seems to work but don't know if it will create
problems down the line. I am using a roll-over navigation bar
created and generated in Fireworks. It seems to defeat the purpose
of using SSI if you can't include the javascript since if there was
a change at some point to the navigation bar you would have to
change the javascript that went with it. And it is nice to keep all
that extra coding out of every file on the site. IS there an
official word on this or some process in creating a SSI file that
could prevent any problems?

I'm a University student and have a roommate. When I'm using the computer and my roommate is sleeping, I'm pretty much stuck in whatever OS I'm using, because he's a very light sleeper and I for the life of me can't figure out a way to disable it. The first thing I tried was to mute the volume on Mac, but that didn't work.

Unfortunately, the software that is linked to doesn't seem to work on Leopard. I installed it and selected "mute" and just to be sure I rolled the volume bar of the startup sound all the way to the left. My computer still made the startup sound! I also tried holding down the mute button on startup to no avail.
Can someone tell me how I can disable this extremely annoying and unnecessary sound? I'm using a MacBook Pro.Try this other solution. No downloads needed.
I encountered this problem too and it is so annoying. Searching on this site there are two main threads for dealing with this issue but there is an important factor that has been overlooked. I have a line going out from the 'Audio Out' jack on my iMac to an external Amplifier and you MUST remove this to turn down the volume. Try this out....it works!
1. Go to System Preferences in the Dock (the Cogs looking icon)
2. Click on Sound.
3. You should now see 3 buttons a the top - Sound Effects, Output and Input
4. Click on Output
5. When you've got an external device attached ie Heaphones or line out to Amp etc you will see Headphones as the Device for Sound Output Name. In this pane, you have overall control over the output volume and Balance.
6. REMOVE the line out from the Audio Out jack on the back of the iMac (the one with the Heaphone looking thingy!)
7. Immediately you will notice that the sound output device has now changed to INTERNAL SPEAKERS.
8. Got to Output Volume and slide the volume control bar to the left.
9. Plug your external speakers/headphones back in an and you will notice that Heaphones returns.
9. When you restart your iMac the StartUp Sound will now be significantly lower. -
ColumnSeries / DataTip problem
Hi there,
I'm busy to create a ColumnChart, that contains one
ColumnSeries and two LineSeries. I'm also using a DataTip, that
will be visible when the cursor of the mouse hits one of the given
Series.
My problem is ColumnSeries will show the DataTip only at the
lefside (33 percent) of a bar. When I'm over 33 percent, the
DataTip was invisible. In case when I'm only using the
ColumnSeries, it works correct.
Is there anyone who can help me? In fact I want to display my
DataTip, when the mouse is rolling over a bar. Even more than the
33% percent it is now.

for that). My Chart-component is using a dataTipRenderer.
A research has learned that it is possible to set a type
(stacked, overlaid, 100%), but this gives me the same result as
now.
