Room (template and content) Transport from EP6 to EP7

Hello,
We upgraded our EP from ver6 to ver7 .
We had room with content (documents) in the 6 ver and we are trying to transport the rooms to the new EP 7.
So far we had no luck.
Is it possible to do so?
If yes How?.

How to migrate UWL from EP6 to EP7

Hello,
We want to migrate UWL from EP6 to EP7. Is enough task to transport the customize XML file that is located in UWL?
Is it necessary to upload to EP7 the rest of attached documents? How?

Just install the same way you did originally. Download/install the desktop application, sign in, install the subscription application(s). You are allowed to have two working installations so you can keep the original intact if you like. If you prefer not to then you should sign out of the old installation as a minimum.

Export Customized Information Attributes from EP6 to EP7

Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to migrate User Admin customized information fields from EP6 SP17 to 7 EhP1 SP7? The standard portal user export functionality only collects the standard fields and ignores the custom attributes.
Does anyone have an idea on how this task can be achieved???

DW Template and table jump from page to page

Hi,
I have put together a rather quick, basic site for a friend
in need (meaning=bare bones here to get it started faster). It's
template-based and table-based.
The site is generally working okay except that the content in
terms of the tables jumps slightly to the left or to the right
during navigation between pages. It all hangs together, but it
shifts slightly, so I know something is out of line.
The navigation is done with Fireworks CS3, so there may be
something wrong with how my slices are set up. I've tweaked them a
bit and made them better, but everything still shifts between
pages.
I appreciate any help or assistance anyone could offer.

My iCloud icon and content disappeared from my desktop!

I realize now that you referred to an iDisk, what I can't understand is what you did with it, you can't upload files to iCloud except from an Application (usually Apple application). Unless you have installed some 3rd party utility it is not possible to do what you described and I can't tell where your files are.
If you can remember a file name that was included in that store search for it with Spotlight.

Solman project transport from one server to another

Hi All,
i have a small query , regarding project management . I have a Template project with some manually designed tamplate inside that. and test case created.
Now i want to move this project with all config. , selected template and test case from one server my another solman server.
I am hoping transport icon given below in solar_project_admin will work for me . please confirm me and let me know if other options too available . can i use solar_migration for this activity ??
please suggest all possible way for export (transport) this project from one server to another.

Unfortunately, transaction SOLAR_MIGRATION is not released to be used in the Solution Manager 4.0/7.0 and therefore is not supported.

Besides the "Transport Project" functionality in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN for projects and the transport of testpalns from transaction STWB_2 there is no other function available/supported at the moment.
you have to make sure that you have in the source system the corrections from the notes:

Extension for Embedding Room Parts in Room Templates

Hi,
I am working on SAP Portal EP6.
I have created a room template and I would like to embed a part room template to my room template.
I am following the instructions on this page:

The problem is that when I add an extension, I do not have the extension point "ON_FINALIZE_CREATE_ROOM".
The second one is that I olny have access to the room templates in the Template ID box !!
I would like to add the SAP_Public_Documents to my template.
Any solution ??

Collaboration Room Template Rebuild Failure

I was trying to rebuild a room template by using the same name. So what I did was that I duplicated the old one and gave it a unique name and deleted the old one. Then I tried to create a new template using the same name as the one I just deleted. It didn't let me move to the next step and gave an error message saying no valid name specified. The old template is gone no longer to be found nowhere not even in the backend. Any advice. Thanks

I was able to Delete the Room Template and create a new one with the same Name as the Room Template deleted before.
Steps:
1. Delete Room Template
2. Go to PCD Inspector
3. In PCD Inspector Navigate to Portal Content > com.sap.ip.collaboration > RoomTemplateVersion
4. Delete the Folder of the Template you just deleted
5. Create a new Template with the Name of the Room Template created before
It should work fine. I've done it twice.

Problem with room template

Hi All,
I have created a new Room template and have added other iViews besides the Room calendar.
Everything is working fine in the room except the Room calendar. I get the following error
"Invalid RID: 20b1bad6-5c27-2810-d199-d91203b5c46f", which i guess is the Room Id.
I even tried copying the "Calendar and Sessions" page from SAP Team room template into my template, but that also doesnt work. If I create a room using SAP Team Room template the calendar works fine, but not in a room created with my template.
The following mapping have been done
In the page com.sap.netweaver.coll.CalendarAndSessions_0
the property com_sap_netweaver_coll_gwui_roomid is set as room_id for component com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomCalendar
The stack trace shows the following error

The characteristics of the InfoCube selected in the query
The characteristics required for a join with other InfoProviders in the InfoSet.
Furthermore, as a prerequisite for using aggregates, all the data required by an InfoCube must be readable using logical access. For an InfoCube within an InfoSet with InfoCubes, it is no longer possible to read part of the data from one aggregate and part of the data from another aggregate or the InfoCube itself.

Room Parts and WebDynPro Iview

Hi,
I have created a custom room template and now want to add an additional webdynpro iview to only a specific set of users who's room used this template. Can I create a custom room part based off of a webdynpro iview or do I have to create another custom template that contains the webdynpro iview? Any assistance would be most appreciated.
Our environment is NW04 Stack 16.

Have you try your suggestion?, because that's the way I'm working and the folder always appears. The Folder has the Room Part name you give at the time you added it to the Room. The custom workset don't have folders, just pages.

Transport package creation in EP7

We have recently migrated from EP6 to EP7. While creating transport package in EP7, I found that the "include dependent" option is no more there in EP7. Can someone tell me how do we include dependent objects in EP7.

In the Properties pull down list, select "Export Settings" and click "Resolve References" Radio button to Yes.
References Filter is used to "com.xxx.*"

Export/import content from EP6 into NW04

We are upgrading from SRM3.0/EP6 SP2 (source) to SRM5.0/Portal NW2004s (target).
The only thing we need to preserve from the source portal are the users and roles. We plan to re-apply the business package for SRM 5.0 after the migration is completed. We are not using any Collaboration Rooms.
I know there is a migration path from EP6 SP2->EP6 SP9(NW04), followed by an upgrade from NW04->NW04s.
My question is:
- is it possible to export content from EP6SP2 and import it into NW04/MW04s? this will eliminate the complicated migration path from EP6 SP2 to NW04.

As long as you only need to transport PCD content, I would recommend using normal PCD transport (just did an upgrade from EP6 SP2 to NW04 SP13 and used normal PCD transport without any problems. Will do the same for another upgrade to NW04s). Only if you have KM content you are forced to use the migration tools.
I am not quite sure about users and role migration since I've only use LDAP as a user store (we manually repeated the AD group to portal role mapping since there were very few)

Is it possible to restrict Content Administrator from a room?

I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around this one so please bare with me.
The client wants the following situation:
- they want a collaboration room that is restricted to 4 individuals in the company
- this room needs to be secure so that only those 4 individuals can access the content in the room, these are end users
- the Portal admin person will setup the room initially and then should no longer be able to access the room or content
I can't think of any way to do this. I've thought that maybe we could create a custom Content Admin role that has all access except to the room folder but this doesn't seem to be possible. From my testing it looks like you can see all the documents in the room from Content Admin -> KM Content if you have the Content Admin role (or a copied version of it).
Currently the portal team has Super Admin in production. We'd obviously like to keep that access because maintenance and support becomes difficult without it. The client would allow for special Super Admin access for temporary periods but it seems that we'd have to create a scaled down admin role that we would have all the time and then when we needed further access we'd need to get special approval to get the Super Admin role for a temporary period.
So, is there any way that we can revoke all access to a room and it's content except for the specific users assigned to that room? Any other ideas?

I'll explain what I am trying to achieve.
I've written phone book application. Each person has his/her personal card with his/her picture. In order to display the picture I need it to available in http. I've created an HTTP Alias (Like can be done on IIS). What I do is simply conctenate the HTTP alias the unique id number of each person which is also his picture's file name. The workers have an option to show or hide their pictures if they want to. The problem is that once creating an HTTP alias (or virtual directory on an IIS) this url becmes available to every person inside the LAN and the whole pivacy cocept is lost. If I could reveal this alias only to users who are entering the portal I could have control over the displying of the pictures but like this everyone can see every picture if he wants to. I beleive I can change the method of the picture retreival so it will take it from the file and not from http, but this methos is much more faster and simple.
