Root.sh failed with CRS-2800: Can't start resource 'ora.ctssd' as it is

Cannot start resource 'ora.ctssd' as it is already in the INTERMEDIATE state.
I was trying to install two node RAC on linux REDHAT, I have encountered following errors:
Start of resource "ora.crsd" failed
CRS-2800: Cannot start resource 'ora.ctssd' as it is already in the INTERMEDIATE state on server
CRS-4000: Command Start failed, or completed with errors.
Clusterware exclusive mode start of Clusterware Ready Services failed at /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/crsconfig_lib.pm line 6475.
/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/bin/perl -I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/perl/lib -I/u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install /u01/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl execution failed
How to fix this issue?
runCluvfy ran successfully.
I found out on the second node(oracle02), there is no any daemon running. But on the local installation node(oracle01):

OK, please post the css last lines in the log.
Also, if you have alert log (for crs, it should be under $GI_HOME/log/<hostname>) post it as well.
It's a bit complicated to trace it here, I'll do my best, but you might want to open an SR on this.

From the results, the ids are the same, and so is the OCR disk. But the integrity check has failed. How do i interpret this output?

PRCR-1079 Failed to start resource ora.rac.db - during installation

After successful installation of Grid Infrasturcture I proceeded with database installation on clusterware and at the stage when the installer was creating clone database I got the following errors ( this was my 2nd attempt and I got the same errors both the time ) :
Errors:
PRCR-1079 : Failed to start resource ora.rac.db
ORA-01092 : ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced
ORA-00704 : bootstrap process failure
ORA-00604 : error occurred at resursiive SQL level 2
ORA-01578 : ORACLE data block corrupted (file # 1, block # 5505)
ORA-01110 : data file 1:'+DATA/rac/datafile/system.256.799676855'
Process ID : 23498
Session ID : 63 Serial number 3
CRS-2674 Start of 'ora.rac.db' on 'rac2' failed
CRS-2632 There are no more servers to try to place resource 'ora.rac.db' on that would satisfy its placement policy
There are no logs on that node (rac2)
I am running Oracle Linux 5.4 64 bit
As mentioned above this was my 2nd attempt afresh and I got the same errors both the times, please let me know what is the problem as the rac2 is replica of rac2 in VMWare.

I tried again for the 3rd time and go the same error again, this time I rebuilt the node 2 - Can someone ple ase help me with this issue why it keeps failing on node 2 at the same stage for the 2rd time in a row.
Also please help me clone the database manually from node 1 to node 2 so I don't have to try to reinstall it again, there must be ways to do it

CRS-0210: Could not find resource 'ora.qlxdgalc001.vip'.

Hi All,
I am in a situation where I was not able to add the vip. This is the scenario:
I recently deleted one of the nodes from a 4 node cluster as some of the h/w maintenance is required for node1. after the maintenance window, I am adding the node back to the cluster. When I add the node back, I am not able to register the vip of the node with the cluster. The command and the error that I am getting are as follows:
[root@qlx001 ~]# srvctl add nodeapps -n qlxdgalc001 -o $ORACLE_HOME -A qlxd001-vip.abc.com/255.255.255.128/bond0
CRS-0210: Could not find resource 'ora.qlxd001.vip'.

Facing prcr-1079 failed to start resource ora.orcl.db problem

Hi all,
I am about installing an oracle database with asm
I have installed ASM libraries and created asm instance with diskgroup successfully mounted. I started the ASM instance in the oragrid user.
Know I runned the DBCA command to create a database named ORCL from the oracle user,
I followed up the procedure and during creation phase (at 80 %) I got multiple errors,
: prcr-1079 failed to start resource ora.orcl.db
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
is there anything wrong, or I need to grant system privileges for oracle over directories?

I have integrated 11.1.1.6 OID with Active Directory 2008 and OAM 11.1.2
I have configured synchronization profile using EM interface.
Both domain rules and mapping rules look all good and status ok.
Bootstrap of users from AD to OID worked fine.
For password authentication, I have configured the plugin using ODSM interface.
While running the ldapcompare command to invoke the plugin, it is failing with :

I can see the orcladobject objectclass exist for the user sraj. Also the orclsouceobjectdn matches with that in AD. checked this using dsquery.
Telnet to AD port 389 works from OID server
I have checked on note 395186.1 and the error matches but all solution did not work.
Any help will be appreciated to get the plugin working.

This issue is resolved now. I was using the wrong DN for the user while running the ldapcompare command.
In the ldapcompare command, I changed -b "cn=Sudeep Raj,cn=users,dc=subhajit,dc=com" and then it worked fine.
$ ldapcompare -h training3.subhajit.com -p 3060 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w **** -b "cn=Sudeep Raj,cn=users,dc=subhajit,dc=com" -a userPassword -v ******
The value ***** is contained in the attribute userPassword in DN cn=Sudeep Raj,cn=users,dc=subhajit,dc=com.

AIR 3.8.0.440 / iOS: build fails with "ld: -pie can only be used when targeting iOS 4.2 or later"

With AIR 3.8.0.440, iOS build with "adt -package -target ipa-ad-hoc" fails with a linker error:
ld: -pie can only be used when targeting iOS 4.2 or later
What's the correct option to suppress this error or does it need a fix for adt?
In the app.xml,

Can you make sure that both your old ane and new ane are not present in your extensions directory.
Also, how are you zipping/unzipping the ANE?
If you are on a Mac, try these steps on the terminal:
1) Create a new temp directory, say temp (mkdir temp)
2) cd temp
3) Copy the ane you need to make changes to into this directory.
4) unzip nameofane.ane
5) rm nameofane.ane
6) Make changes to the platform.xml file using a text editor or vim
7) cd to the temp directory again, (if you are now elsewhere)
8) zip -r nameofane.ane .
9) Copy the ane file created into your extensions directory, where you have placed the other extensions and then, package the IPA using adt.
If you are on Win,
1) Rename the .ane to .zip
2) Extract the contents of .zip
3) Make changes to platform.xml and save it.
4) Go back to the directory where you extracted the files, select all the folders/files and right click to zip them back.
5) Rename the .zip to .ane and then, package the IPA.
It should work.

Never backed up with iTunes. Can I start now?

I Have a phone that's only been backed up with iCloud. It's now saying my iCloud is out of space and can't back up my phone. Is there a away I can now start using my phone with iTunes and not lose everything? Thanks!

Not sure what you mean there ...
But if you successfully get the contacts synced to her iCloud account then they can always be recovered by re-setting up the iCloud account if she restores her iPhone or gets a new device. But keep in mind that syncing contacts to iCloud is not the same as backing up to iCloud -- you can only sync contacts to iCloud by setting up an iCloud email account. She doesn't have to use the email, but she has to set up the account in order to use the Contacts feature.
She already has an iCloud account, have her turn on Contacts in iCloud settings and she'll be prompted to set up an iCloud email account. Do that, then enable iCloud's contact feature (and optionally, other services like mail, calendar, etc.)
Finally, the reason she's getting the message that her iCloud account is full is likely because she has tons of pictures in her Camera Roll (which are part of her backup, hence the capacity issue). Once you get her contacts, calendar, etc. in a safe place, transfer her photos from Camera Roll and empty it (or at least reduce it significantly). Think of Camera Roll as a temporary holding place until you transfer photos to a more permanent location like your computer, not as a long-term storage for photos.

Delayed Write Failed - and now it can't start Windows

Help!
I'm in big trouble! I was using my Tecra 9100 (running XP Service Pack 2) and was looking at some of the files I had stored on my memory stick. I selected 'safely remove hardware' and pulled my memory stick out when I was finished. All of a sudden my laptop starts to run slowly and an error message popped up saying 'Delayed Write Failed'.
This is a first for me, and I don't know why this popped up. I read what it had to say below the error - 'Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \Kaspersky (can't remember the exact name but it was to do with Kaspersky). The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.'
My laptop became so slow it was unresponsive (although I could move the cursor around) and remained so for 10mins. I tryed Ctrl-Alt-Del, nothing happened. As I could't shutdown Windows, I was forced to hold the power off button for a few seconds to immediately switch it off. Upon switching my laptop back on, I noticed my bootscreen took about 15sec more than before and the blue screen showed up saying 'Windows needs to check your disk for constincency.'
An hour or so later I logged back into my computer and noticed my cursor was rather jumpy and not as smoothe as before. It just wasn't right and about an hour or so later the same error popped up again and my laptop froze. After another power off, the blue screen showed up again saying 'Windows needs to check your disk for constincency' and this time I waited around 4 hours!
When it was finally done, my laptop restarted automatically and the blue screen showed up again! This time cancelled the disk check and when straigh to the log in screen. I logged in and noticed the laptop wasn't up to speed as it was usually with the mouse being jumpy still. I decided to restart the laptop only to see the blue screen again.
I let it go this time and just waited for it to scan. after about 20mins nothing appeared to be happening in the scan so I powered off. Now my computer is seriuosly messed up. When I switched it back on the screen which says Last know good configuration and start windows normally showed up.
Now no matter what I select my laptop just restarts and says cannot proceed due to corrupt or damaged file in \Windows\System. You can attempt to repair this problem by inserting the Windows set-up disk.' Whats the Windows set-up disk?
My laptop is second hand and came with no recovery disks ect. and has XP Pro already installed so i dont have disk. what on earth shall i do?

Sounds like a mean software crash to me. I understand you need to rescue your data before you delete all your files and proceed with a recovery.
What I would do in your situation (did it actually some days ago on a friend's notebook), is:
1) remove the hard drive from my laptop (it's not that hard to do it yourself)
2) purchase an empty external housing for a 2.5" drive to USB (about 10 US$)
3) Install the removed drive into that new housing
4) Backup all my important data at my Office/Friends Computer through the new adapter (you have access to all data areas of the hard disk through USB). Keep the HDD even leveled during this procedure as it might be a damaged drive due to wear and tear of the motor bearing... In such incidents you can hear a changing noise while altering the level of the drive during operation. Maybe you have to keep it in a vertical position to minimize the noises during the final rescue process of your data.
Finally once everything is restored, I would:
5) reinstall the Drive back into the notebook (in order to test its functionality) and do a proper recovery-CD installation.
6) Purchase a new spare drive and have it ready, just in case the old drive reveals as broken.
This is the easiest and most safe way to rescue your data.
You might ask yourself: What caused this to my notebook:
Here are some possible reasons:
- a Virus/malware/incompatible program (30 % chance)
- a broken hard disk (does it sound strange (noisy) lately?) (45 % chance)
- a HDD controller/motherboard problem (10 % chance)
- bad moment like an instant power loss or another undefined reason (15 % chance)

BTW, my friend was very happy to have his broken 60GB Toshiba drive replaced with a new more silent 120GB Samsung drive.

I recommend removing and reinstalling iTunes using these steps:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

1)Problems with Fusiondrive 2) Can't start from USB-Stick to repair

I have a big problem witn my self created fusion drive on my macbook pro. For weeks it worked fine and fast. But since the last week more and more errors ocured, such like stopping com.apple.medialibrary service etc. The system ran hot and hanged sometimes or shut down suddenly..
Now, it won't start anymore.
Following message appears after turning on:

I tried to start from my mavericks-usb-Stick, which works on my second Macbook (nearly the same settimg) fine and without problems. I pressed the "alt"-key while system start and could choose the stick as startup medium.
But after a few seconds the same error messages appear... The system won't start.
So I can't reformat and create a new Fusion drive. I have erased the NVRAM, which solved the problem, that the startup chime was missing...
I tried also to start with cmd+R, but the errors stayed the same...
Please is there anyone who can give me a hint. I need my macbook and I have only today a little time to fix it...

Thank you for your answer. I have put me internal DVD in an external case to make place for the hard disk (the ssd is at the old place of the hard disc).
I can't choose the externalDVD to start when I press "alt"-key...
Any other idea?

11G R2 root.sh failed on first node with OLE fetch parameter error

Now it's coming to install 11G R2.2 on Redhat 5.4 64bit with HDS storrage.

Restarting the db fails with PRKP-1001 and CRS-0215

Hi,
i have a 2 node RAC, restarting the DB is not starting both the instances. only one instance is started.
PRKP-1001 : Error starting instance inst1 on node nodexyz1
<nodexyz1.vip>:IP:<ip address> is already up in the network (host=nodexyz1)
<nodexyz1.vip>:IP:<ip address> is already up in the network (host=nodexyz1)
CRS-0215: Could not start resource 'ora.rac.inst1.inst'.
the above error is not consistant.... in the above case it started inst2 and failed to start inst1...
when i tried a couple of times... its failing to start inst2 and starting inst1 with the error against VIP on node2.
Even restarting the CRS did not solve the problem.

CRS socket become stale which refuse the connection from srvctl command.
1. as oracle: srvctl stop nodeapps -n <node>
2. as root: crsctl stop crs
3. as root: rm /var/tmp/.oracle/*
4. as root: crsctl start crs
this way new socket will be created and instance 2 on node 2 start properly via crs and srvctl command.
