Rotative Banner

I would like to know how to add Bannerad in my website using JSP.
These banners that has the links in a database, shall appear randomly in accord with the priority that i set in the database and every banner,when cadastring it in the database, will have start date and expiration date.
Anyone can give me some sugestions??

How to create rotating banner ad?

Hi,
I am a complete and utter newbie when it comes to flash. I've bought Flash Professional CS5, and I am looking for a tutorial/help to create a rotating banner ad similar to the one on www.play.com.
Example: I've got four different pictures I want to rotate within let's say 3-4 seconds per picture. Each of the picture needs its own link, so people can click to get to the correct place. I want the pictures to "fade out to the left" when changing) How do I do this? Is there a simple tutorial? I've heard "flash is so easy", but I am having a hard time to grasp around it.
Anyone got any tips?

Trying to use a Rotating Banner Script

Hi All,
I know that some of you are very well versed in iWeb '08 so I thought my question could be answered here.
I would like to use a rotating banner script on each of the pages on my iWeb made website on the .mac server. I'm not sure how to do this. The script will rotate 5 pictures. When you load one of the pages a picture will appear on top of the page. When you reload the page, you'll see a different picture.
What I need to know in order to accomplish this rotation is: 1) Where do I upload the pictures to be used 2)what will the link to the pictures be that I need to insert into the script and 3) How do I get the script onto my webpage?

the site is far from finished so there are many dead links but the banners work. what the app does is upload the banner on my .mac then I paste the code in the snippet. and the snippet looks for the banner. So if I guess right the important is that you place the banner where you tell your page to look for it regardless of where you place it. Promoted links with Image Carousel (Rotating Banner)

Hi,
I am using promoted links webpart. I want to have cycle of images. For eg: I have 10 images . With the slider , I can go to next image horizontally. Once I reach the 10th image,there won't be any next option. I want to display the 1st image after
the 10th. Means, the sliding should be never ending. How can I achieve this. I think I can use javascript to override the default promoted links functionality. Please suggest on how to do this. Thank you

Can someone please help clean up my rotating banner file?

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to make a rotating banner with buttons on it (check the uploaded FLA... I had to set the extension to *.zip to get it uploaded, so once you DL it, change it to .FLA). It sorta does what I want it to do right now, but my code is really... REALLY awful. The only thing I can say about my code is that the functionality is close to what I'm looking for.
Basically, this is what I want it to do:
1) banner consists of 3 different banners that rotate out with an animation in a continuous loop.
2) little buttons in the lower right hand side will whisk you to the appropriate banner, but will NOT be clickable on its specific banner.
3) rolling over the main banner img or the button will also pause the movie
4) clicking on the main banner img will send you to a URL
I have a very hard time finding a way to be able to call a function over and over again without remaking the function and renaming it. If you have some time, please take a look at the FLA and pass me some pointers. I am using Flash CS3 if that matters. Thanks all!

there's a way to ask for help and maximize your chances for receiving help: post only the relevant information related to one problem along with the relevant code (if it's a code related issue).

XML Driven rotating banner ad question

Now everything works right so far, my question is how would i make the banners/images into links so when the banner is clicked i can add a link to it so they are taken to that product.

That code does not go on the button like you would do with on(release) code. That code will go with the rest of the code you showed. You will assign an instance name to that button... if you use the code I showed, that instance name will be "btn"--you assign it by selecting the button on the stage and entering it into the Properties panel where it says <Instance Name>. You will also declare the urlVAriable where that code is...

As for the xml end of things, I will leave you to solve with a little help. Look at the parse function and try to see how the current xml information is captured and later utilized.   You will essentially create another parameter in each xml node to go with the current "path" parameter. You can call it "link" or something like that, and it will contain the url that clicking the button will lead to.

It seems to work in the sense after a little bit it does change the banner auto and after you stayed on a banner for a while, but it always changes to the same banner.

Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content) and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. There IS a way to disable it from the registry http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#IncognitoModeAvailability

Hello you guys,
Im working on the development of a rotative banner, for someone that doesnt know what it isis a banner (in several web pages you can find one) that change the image present in it once on a while (every certain time), and each one of those image represent a point of entry for accessing to an specific placein almost all of the cases, different web pages in my case a specific portals role, user profile. The images that I want to present in the banner are store in the km repository. I found a solution that serves me well for my purpose, but I need to find another solution for achieve my goal and now I going to explain why:
Im using a JSPDynpage PAR, as a parameters of this *.PAR , I get the all the paths where the images are physically store on the server, the names of those images and the paths of the roles (in the PCD) associated to each one of those image. In the before output method, I get the complete path where the image is store, and put it (render it) on my iview, then is executed a wait method and finally with the SUBMIT method, I send again the information (some variables that I need to change the image in the banner) to the browser and that result in the continuing refresh (request response cycle) of my browser. Its important to know that only the iviews *.PAR is refreshing when the submit method is execute, not all the page. Know, like I said before all works fine, but the problem is that I want to do this but I dont want that my browser refresh every certain timeso the question is: is there another way to do this using EPCM API and avoiding the use of the submit method (no refresh the browser)?

there is a possibility to make a request to the server without refresh. You can use the XMLHttpRequest object.
1. create an AbstractPortalComponent component, that will return the desired output into the response (image with link). Let's call this component DataComponent.
2. create a component, that will output a DIV object with ID for example "myDivId" and a Javascript, that will periodically call a JS function (some JS <i>setTimeout(JsFunctionToCall(), waitTimeInMiliseconds)</i>). In this function you will create a XMLHttpRequest object (different for Mozilla and MSIE):

How to get flash banner to play back on iphone

Hello,
I have website (basic) that i created with a flash rotating banner. Banner works fine on all computers but won't play on iphone. I'm aware that there are limitations at this point with flash and iphones. How are webdesigners creating rotating banners and the like that play on iphones? Can this be done in flash cs3? thanks, Owen

Well you are on your way to success then, GOOD JOB!!
Here's the simple, easy way to get this going:
Download swfobject ver 1.5 here (my site):
http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/swfobject.js
Let's just put all your Flash files in the the same folder to simplifly things during testing... later you can move them to any folder you want, just remember that the paths to those files then need to be changed to be relative to the Web page that your .swf file is on, not the physical location of the actual file.
Practice in a brand new html Web page......copy and paste this into the code view, or copy and paste into NotePad and save as file type .html
Be sure to put the swfobject file, the Flash .swf file, the .mov file and this html file all in the same folder during testing.

Edit to match your .swf and .mov file names and change dimensions to suit.
I've purposely "turned off" swfobject by giving it an in-correct file name "swfobject_off.js"... so initially it will NOT work..result is you will see your "alternate content", the .mov.
Once you can confirm that your alt content is working, edit the swfobject file name to "swfobject.js", removing the _off part.
Now your browser will find that file.. swfobject will try detect the Flash plugin, if it finds it, it will

rewrite the div id=flash with the Flash content and violla... you'll have your Flash banner and iPhone users will have theirs!
