Row_number() -SQL function throws error - SAP B1 2005 B - PL 36

hi experts,
when i try 2 run "SELECT * FROM (SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY CardName) AS RowNo,CardCode,CardName FROM OCRD Where CARDTYPE='C') AS OCRD"
query in SAP B1 2005 B, PL-36 it shows an error -server throw an exception.
anybody can comment on it
thanks in advance
jithesh nambiar

Hi,
Problem might be with your query. Server exception error may occur while accessing large number data retrieving from the data base. It is execution type of error. What do you expect/want from your sql query?
try this query
SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY CardName) AS RowNo,CardCode,CardName FROM OCRD Where CARDTYPE='C'

  • Count() function throws error in EQL query for metric

    Hi
    I am trying to use count function in EQL query for Metric Bar to show the number of occurrences of a record.
    When the record type doesn't exist i expect the function to return count as 0. Instead the function throws a runtime exception and the whole Metric Bar portlet fails, with error No Results Available. Even though other components in the metric bar have valid results.
    2013-02-21 13:03:51,216 WARN [MetricsBarQueryProcessor] The EQL query does not return any results.
    2013-02-21 13:03:51,216 ERROR [MetricsBarQueryProcessor] The EQL query does not return any results.
    2013-02-21 13:03:51,216 WARN [MetricsBarResultsProcessor] No statement results to process.
    The EQL query i am using is
    RETURN NUMBER_OCCURS AS SELECT COUNT(EMP_ID) AS NUMBER_OCCURS where EMP_NAME IS NOT NULL group;
    I tried using COALESCE but that doesn't help.
    Can some one please suggest a workaround to this?

    Srikanth,
    Two statements are used here because the original question was pertaining to the null set (where there are employees in the nav state but no employees that fit the special analytics criteria in the navigation state). The question/answer has nothing to do with what is in the COUNT parentheses clause as Counting a null set will always give you NULL, not 0, no matter what you put in there.
    What we're really doing, in the second part of the query, is writing a query over a set of data that is not the null set (i.e. the current navigation state). This allows the 0 value to come through in the case where the first analytics statement is evaluated over a null set of records. If there were truly no records in the navigation state, this too would return a null set and not zero.
    Hope that makes sense, feel free to respond (either on here or offline) if it's unclear.

  • PL/SQL Function call error while reading or assigning returned value

    Hi,
    I am getting the following error while tryih to read the value of the PL/SQL Function. I am calling a function in one of my PL/SQL Packages passing mutliple IN parametes and the function returns some value back. Now on BPEL side when I try to read the return value I am getting an error:
    *<summary>*
    empty variable/expression result.
    xpath variable/expression expression "/ns3:OutputParameters/ns3:TEST_FUNCTION" is empty at line 124, when attempting reading/copying it.
    Please make sure the variable/expression result "/ns3:OutputParameters/ns3:TEST_FUNCTION" is not empty.
    *</summary>*
    Even though in the console when I check the Invoke Output Parameter it does shows me a valid value being retuned by a Function but when I am trying to Assgn this value to some variable using Assign Activity I get the above error.
    Even though all goes fine but looks like I am not able to read or assign the value returned from the Function.
    So just wondering if this even works as to me I have a very simple example and that seems not to work. Function is called successfully and is returning the value as I can see it in the BPEL console but when tryin to read or assign that value to some other variable I get the above error.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    This issue has come up a lot. The problem is with a mismatch between the version of JDeveloper and SOA. You'll encounter namespace issues if you use 10.1.3.1 in combination with 10.1.3.3 (or 10.1.3.4). You MUST synchronize both JDev and SOA to 10.1.3.3 or 10.1.3.4 (mixing 10.1.3.3 and 10.1.3.4 is OK). We changed when going to 10.1.3.3 by adding elementFormDefault="qualified" to the generated XSD. We used the default "unqualified" in 10.1.3.1. So you'll encounter namespace issues unless you're using 10.1.3.3 or higher JDev AND SOA. The fact that I see &lt;*db:*...&gt; tells me that you're using 10.1.3.1 JDeveloper. The correct solution is to upgrade your components.

  • Hi all problem with sql server 2008 in sap b1 2005 PL38,42

    Hello Sir,
    We are also facing this problem. Our client has purchased SQL 2008 & we have installed SAP B1 PL 05 & also we have to upgrade it to PL 26 atleast for installing TDS Add on 4.8 so that Project runs smoothly.
    Can u specify the status? i.e. at what stage is that upgradation? or by how much time this problem will be solved? Bcoz we are on the stage of test go live & we cant take back up of database of SQL 2008 & restore it in SQL 2005. We will have to do all settings in new company with database in SQL 2005.
    Pls reply at the earliest.

    Hi Nilesh,
    I wonder how you got B1 installed properly on MSSQL 2008, as MSSQl 2008 comes with a new Native Client connection.
    Anyway I see two options:
    (1) Keep the system as it is, meaning no upgrades of B1 and pray nothing will happen as long MSSQL Server 2008 is not supported.
    (2) In order to get a supported environment the better option would be, to try a combination of CopyExpress and DTW and get all data and settings transfered into a new MSSQL 2005 based Database.

  • DECODE SQL Function - Parsing error in Defining Objects in Universe Designe

    Hi,
    I have created a class and an object in BO XI R3 Universe designer.
    I am getting the parsing error while defining the object when using the custom SQL as
    select decode(matteraction,null,decode(matterissue,null,'MATTER','ISSUE'),decode(matterissue,null,'TYPE IS ACTION',' ACTIONu2019)) as TYPE from wh_cf_cmsu
    The object Type is "character", i have tried with Long Text, Number, Date as well and the same sql works fine by returning String values through TOAD.
    Do we have any constrains in using DECODE in BO XI R3 or any other syntax please....
    Please guide me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks,
    Karthik.

    Hi,
    1.At back end check the data type for matteraction column and define it accordingly in object definition.
    2. Try to break your select clause definition into smaller parts and check it where the exact issue is  as below
    i.select decode(matterissue,null,'TYPE IS ACTION',' ACTIONu2019) ............
    ii.select decode(matteraction,null,decode(matterissue,null,'MATTER','ISSUE') ..........
    iii.select decode(matteraction,null,decode(matterissue,null,'MATTER','ISSUE'),decode(matterissue,null,'TYPE IS ACTION',' ACTIONu2019)) as TYPE from wh_cf_cmsu

  • PL/SQL-Function for validation

    I wrote a PL/SQL function in order to validate that the SUM of input-values doesn't exceed 100.
    I used validation rule from APEX for PL/SQL-expression (same like SQL-expression):
    f_page_16_validation(:P16_PSP_PSP)<=100 (Condition: CREATE, SAVE)
    source code for function:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION f_page_16_validation
    (pi_p16_psp_psp VARCHAR2)
    RETURN NUMBER
    IS
    vl_sum NUMBER(5) := 0;
    BEGIN
    SELECT NVL(SUM(psp_anteil_projekt),0) INTO vl_sum
    FROM st_psp_projekt_psp
    WHERE UPPER(psp_psp) = pi_p16_psp_psp;
    RETURN vl_sum;
    END f_page_16_validation;
    When I check in SQL*Plus against database: SELECT f_page_16_validation('A_TEST_UHL_PSP%') FROM dual;
    I get the correct value. When I input into APEX-Application the validation rule doesn't fire (CREATE). If my SUM is over 100 and try to change
    one value (in order to come under 100) (SAVE) - the validation rule fires but quite independent of the SUM - it accepts NO VALUE!!
    Apex-Version: 3.1.1.00.09
    Can somebody tell me what's wrong? Is there any other way - SQL,PL/SQL-expression, PL/SQL-function body (bool, error text) didn't work.

    1. If your PL/SQL expression is written as you stated:
    f_page_16_validation(:P16_PSP_PSP)<=100then you will receive an error message if the total is <= 100 and not if it exceeds 100.
    2. Where in your code do you consider the input values? I see that you are selecting from a table, where your already inserted values are but I see no input values. Are you using a form or a tabular form? If I look at the names of your buttons then I wouls say you are using a form.
    3. You are talking about condition. What type of condition you use? I would use a PL/SQL Expression like this:
    :REQUEST IN ('CREATE', 'SAVE')4. I would suggest to use a validation of type PL/SQL Function Returning Error Text since you can put all the code in one.

    I tried modifying one of my packages to include dbms_lock.sleep in my code and then compiled the package.
    while running the package i got some error related to locking.

    I tried restarting the timesten server and then also the same error exists.
    How can i resolve this?

    Hi,
    This looks like a problem with the SQL*Developer Early Adopter release itself so it would be better if you opened a new thread in the SQL*Developer forum -
    SQL Developer
    That is monitored by the developers more than this thread so they are more likely to see it.

  • Invoking a PL/SQL function from BPEL throws fault.

    Hi, I'm trying to invoke a PL/SQL function that inserts data in to a table from a BPEL via DB Adapter. The process, when I test it, throws a runtime fault as follows:

Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'EmpRegister' failed due to: JCA Binding Component connection issue. The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution.*
    Also, the fault description was a s follows:

    I know, it looks like a JCA adapter error, but when I do a DB to DB table synchronization with this connection factory, no problems happen. Is ther any special procedure I should follow in mapping input data to db schema?

  • What (the hell) is SQL Exception called Function sequence error?

    ...doing in a code like this:
    ResultSet friends=...executeQuery...
    while (friends.next())
    log.append(friends.getString("sendergsm"));
    somewhere in between that loop, or sometimes the loop runs out fine, and sometimes it throws SQLException called General Error. Not guite normal...

    Thank you for replying... that must be agains some of the policies of the sun, to make methods that may be called normally, but may cause an error.
    Anyway, this is my first database application. The number of problems I've had in few days is unbelivable. I wonder does it load the drivers from disk or something everytime it reads one record from database. I mean when I did the above query, the table had about 10 entries (the program showed 5 to 10 before function sequense error) and displaying each record to TextArea took over second. (In paradox (The dosversion) this would have taken less than a second).
    And paradox tables doesn't work at all because it raises exception: Table isn't expected format. If I set paradox 4.0 drivers and put paradox 4.0 tables, you would guess that the format would be expected. And you cannot create paradox tables with SQL. Now I need to use access databases. How can database containing 60 records be 500kb:s? When it will contain 50000 new records every day, i guess I'll be in problem. Each tranaction (say 5 simple queries) taking minutes... heelp meee!!

    CallableStatement cStatement = null;
    cStatement = connection.prepareCall(sql);
    cStatement.registerOutParameter(1,Types.VARCHAR);
    cStatement.setString(2,startDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(3,endDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(4,meType);
    cStatement.execute();
    msg = cStatement.getString(1);
    Actually above function requires three input parameters and one return parameter.
    During execution of above java code it throws SQLException and shows PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC' error.
    I have run this function directly from oracle with three parameters and run successfully and finally it returns string.
    But I am unable to figure out why it doesn't run from above java code.
    Please help regarding this.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Shardul Banker

    Try this:
    String sql = "begin ?:= EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC(?, ?, ?); end;" ;
    CallableStatement cStatement = null;
    cStatement = connection.prepareCall(sql);
    cStatement.registerOutParameter(1,Types.VARCHAR);
    cStatement.setString(1,startDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(2,endDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(3,meType);
    cStatement.execute();
    msg = cStatement.getString(1);Regards,

  • Error on calling PL/SQL function

    Hi All,
    I have a code to call an existing PL/SQL function as following:
    PL/SQL function:
    FUNCTION pub_pkg.get_acc_rule_id (
    i_pub_id IN NUMBER,
    i_issue_id IN NUMBER,
    i_item_type IN VARCHAR,
    i_start_date IN DATE,
    i_end_date IN DATE
    RETURN NUMBER;
    Java Code:
    public Number getAccountingRuleId(Number pubId, Number issueId, String itemType,
    Date startDate, Date endDate)
    Number ruleId = new Number(-1);
    String sqlstatement =
    "BEGIN " + "\n"
    +" :1 := pub_pkg.get_acc_rule_id " + "\n"
    +" (p_param1 => :2" + "\n"
    +" ,p_param2 => :3" + "\n"
    +" ,p_param3 => :4" + "\n"
    +" ,p_param4 => :5" + "\n"
    +" ,p_param5 => :6" + "\n"
    +" );" + "\n"
    +"END; " + "\n";
    OADBTransaction trans = this.getOADBTransaction();
    OracleCallableStatement cStmt =
    (OracleCallableStatement) trans.createCallableStatement(sqlstatement,1);
    try
    cStmt.setNUMBER(2,pubId);
    cStmt.setNUMBER(3,issueId);
    cStmt.setString(4,itemType);
    cStmt.setDATE(5,startDate);
    cStmt.setDATE(6,endDate);
    cStmt.registerOutParameter(1, Types.INTEGER, 0, 10);
    cStmt.execute();
    ruleId = new Number(cStmt.getNUMBER(1));
    cStmt.close();
    catch (Exception ex)
    throw OAException.wrapperException(ex);
    finally
    try
    cStmt.close();;
    catch(Exception e)
    throw OAException.wrapperException(e);
    return ruleId;
    But I got error as following:
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06550: line 2, column 8:
    PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'GET_ACC_RULE_ID'
    ORA-06550: line 2, column 2:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    Can anyone help me to point out where is wrong with my code?
    Thanks & Regards,
    KJ

    That's a nice summary of this thread discussion, KJ. I hope other guys also start doing the same when their issue gets fixed.
    To add to above summary, if you want to call a procedure instead of a function, then you need to modify the line
    String sql = "begin :1 := package.function(:2,:3,:4); end;";
    to
    String sql = "begin package.procedure(:1,:2,:3); end;";
    In and out parameters can be as per the actual procedure.

  • PL/SQL function body returning SQL - report error:ORA-01403: no data found

    Hi,
    I am working on Application Express 4.0.2.00.06, and 11G database.
    I have a problem with classic report area of type - PL/SQL function body returning SQL query. Query works if I define region area as - Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only), and does not when I define it - Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query.
    I am getting error:
    report error:ORA-01403: no data found
    This is my query that is returned from function, and displayed with htp.p, and it works ok and returns data in SQL Developer and SQL Workshop (in Apex).

    As you can see, I even tried with workaround that I found on the previous post on the forum, and that is to put /* select 1 from dual */ to start query.
    Any help would be appriciated.

    /* select 1 from dual */ SELECT SIFPRO, NAZIV, VODITELJ, DATPZA,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2010/46',BRDJEL,null)) as "2010/46" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2010/49',BRDJEL,null)) as "2010/49" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2010/50',BRDJEL,null)) as "2010/50" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2010/51',BRDJEL,null)) as "2010/51" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2010/52',BRDJEL,null)) as "2010/52" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/01',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/01" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/02',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/02" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/03',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/03" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/04',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/04" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/05',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/05" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/06',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/06" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/07',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/07" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/08',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/08" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/09',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/09" ,SUM(DECODE(TJEDAN,'2011/10',BRDJEL,null)) as "2011/10" FROM (SELECT * FROM PMV_PLAN_TVRTKA) GROUP BY SIFPRO, NAZIV, VODITELJ, DATPZA ORDER BY SIFPRO, NAZIV, VODITELJ, DATPZA
