Row Template Condition doesnt working

"Row Template 2 Condition" - use based on PL/SQL Expression
'#DOCUMENT#' is null
The "Row Template 1" is to be show only if Column "DOCUMENT" is not null, otherwise "Row Template 2" is to be show if Column "Document" is null. I have test various examples:
'#4' is null, '#4#' is null and '#DOCUMENT#' is null. Without effect. Only "Row Template 1" is showing.
Can anybody help me?

Hi,
null in conditions would return no value rather than 'null' - you can catch this by using an empty string - so:
'#4#' = ''Andy

    in a report template, in a Row Template # Condition, based on a PL/SQL expression, the condition always fails if/when #COLUMN_VALUE# was NULL.
    I worked around this with a NVL in the query - but, is there a better way?

    Ok, I have since found out that the setting to make a report template
    available in the Based on > Visualization templates is in the
    'package.xml' file for each report. The value that needs to be changed
    is <IsQueryParameterized>0</IsQueryParameterized> and change the 0 to 1.

  • Parallel Block (ParForEach) end condition doesnt work

    hello
    I have a parallel block in my workflow (multiline) .
    In this defintion i have also configured an end condition.
    ( &Approved& = 'X'  for example)
    My intention was that the workflow continues after  the block when:
    1) all parallelblocks are processed.
    2) the end condition was met.
    But this second scenario( end condition was met) doesnt work.
    When approve = X in one block, the other parallel blocks arent logically deleted.
    is my assumption wrong? has anyone ever experienced this behaviour?

    Hello,
    In fork normally you define how many branches are required to complete a job.
    Let say u have 3 approvers for one work item  say A,B, and C.
    If one of these approve you move on to the next step so in this case branches are 3  but necessary branch required is 1.
    I believe that u must be setting flag 'X' when it is approved correct.
    So just play with the necessary branches and you will be available to do it.

    Thanks a lot for your answer. I am relatively new to this subject. Please elaborate your answer for me to maintain the settings in copy control.
    The scenario is - New condition type ZPR0 is created with group condition. And the scales are maintained as mentioned in the problem.
    Lets say Order is created on  date - 23/11/2011 with two lines
    Line 1 - Material M1 - Quantity 17 - Pricing date 31.07.2011(Maintained at item level)
    Line 2 - Material M1 - Quantity 21 - Pricing date 31.08.2011(Maintained at item level)
    With scales maintained, because of the pricing date , system picks up individual scales and it doesnt accumulates the quantity. How to tell system to accumulate quantity and then check scale based on the pricing date.

  • Conditional display in the row template!

    Hi,
    I created a report template and my report shows like this:
    col1 col2 col3 col4 col5
    a 4 5 6 7
    b 4 8 7 2
    Total 8 13 13 9
    I am able to display all the above, but the column name should be "Total" at the end of the report when i am displaying the totals. totals also coming from the database, so i am not calculating here.
    Shall i put any condition saying that if the col1 is null then col1 should display "Total".
    Please suggest.

  • Conditional bg color in row template

    I created a new row template for my report but I get the following error when I include it in the report:
    "Error ERR-1025 Error processing PLSQL expression. #missing_patches# = '-'"
    In the row template itself, I used the following values ("missing_patches" is the conditional column in the report-query):
    Row Template 1 (PL/SQL Expression): <td>bgcolor="yellow" #COLUMN_VALUE#</td>
    Row Template 1 Expression: #missing_patches# = "-"
    Row Template 2 (PL/SQL Expression): <td>bgcolor="red" #COLUMN_VALUE#</td>
    Row Template 2 Expression: #missing_patches# <> "-"
    Anybody an idea what I am missing? Thank you.

    Well, bgcolor should be inside the <td> tag, but bgcolor is depricated in HTML 4.x. You should really be using classes or inline styles.

    In a classic report using a Generic Column template, one can use the Column Condition attribute to conditionally render the column.
    But when using a named column (row template), even though the Builder allows one to specify this condition, it doesn't appear to be used.

    999G999G999G999G990D00For the Row Template, the Row Template 1 setting contains an empty space (you have to have something in there otherwise Apex adds back in a default row containing five cells!). The condition for this is:
    TO_NUMBER('#COMM#','999G999G999G999G990D00') < 100The template will see the data as a string, so we use the same number format to convert that string back into a number and compare this to 100. If we didn't use formatting on the numbers and we are sure that every row contained a number (hence the use of NVL()), then you could use:

  • Custom report row template

    Few questions when using a custom report row template. Followup to the discussion Report Row Template: Column condition
    1. The row template allows full control how the entire row is rendered. I can see this being used when the report query returns a single row and we need to format it in a very specific way. But when the query returns multiple rows, how is the specified Row Template used? i.e the first row is "consumed" and rendered as per the template. If the same process is repeated for subsequent rows, how can we control whether successive rows are rendered across the page (left to right) or down the page (top to bottom)?
    2. When a custom row template is used to render a tabular form, the hidden columns (marked Edit=Y, Show=N on Report Attributes) are present in the markup even when they are not specified in the row template! i.e. the MRU process works. Of course, this is a good thing but I was curious to know what exactly controls this, what part of the report template controls where the hidden form elements are placed?
    3. Any number/date formatting specified declaratively on the Column Attributes page appears to be taken into account when column values are substituted in the template using #COL# notation. But all the other Column Attributes are ignored (alignment, sum, show, link, etc). Is there a way to use the Link attribute to declaratively specify the link so the value of the column #COL# as seen by the report template includes the A tag?

  • Problems with template condition

    Hi,
    I would like to set a condition for a report template by the column header content.
    I have tried the following statement:
    instr(#COLUMN_HEADER#, 'TITLE')>0
    and I have got the error message:
    "ORA-06550: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "#" when expecting one of the following: ( ) - + ..."
    Do you have any idea why it doesn't work?

    I want to create a report with news on the start page of a htmldb application. So I have created a table with 3 columns: DATE, HEADLINE, CONTENT. Now I want to create a template for the layout. Every record in the news table should be showed in the following way:
    HEADLINE DATE
    CONTENT
    My idea was to create 3 conditional templates for every column of a record depending on the column's name. For example a new table row (<tr>) for the content column etc.
    The column template conditions based on PL/SQL expression (e.g. instr(#COLUMN_HEADER#, 'CONTENT')>0) don't work... :-(

    I have the following sql report snippet (as an example):
    select a,b,c,apex_item.checkbox(1,active_flag,DECODE (active_flag, 'Y', 'CHECKED','')) as "Active"
    from tableA
    Attached to this report, is a report template which I am trying to attach Column Template Conditions as I basically want to display all rows that have an active flag of 'N' as red or leave as default colour but unfortunately I can't seem to get this to work.
    I believe my Column Template Expressions are not correct as I have also tried "ACTIVE" = 'N' and still no luck.
    I have the following setup within the Generic Column Template, i,e:
    Column Template 1 = <td class="t12datavalue"#ALIGNMENT# style="background:red">#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>
    Column Template 1 Condition = Use based on PL/SQL Expression
    Column Template 1 Expression = '#1' = 'N'
    Column Template 1 = <td class="t12datavalue"#ALIGNMENT#>#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>

    I think the issue here might be because the field you are trying to evaluate in the column template is a Check box. I tried this and it worked :-
    select a,b,c,apex_item.checkbox(1,active_flag,DECODE (active_flag, 'Y', 'CHECKED','')) as "Active",active_flag
    from tableA
    In the report attributes set the second active_flag column to not show (i.e. the one that is not the check box).
    In the Column Template
    Column Template 1 = <td class="t12datavalue"#ALIGNMENT# style="background:red">#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>
    Column Template 1 Condition = Use based on PL/SQL Expression
    Column Template 1 Expression = '#ACTIVE_FLAG#'='N'
    Column Template 1 = <td class="t12datavalue"#ALIGNMENT#>#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>
    Column Template 1 Condition = Use based on PL/SQL Expression

  • Row Level Security not working for SAP R/3

    Hi Guys
    We have an environment where the details are as mentioned below:
    1. Crystal Reports are created using Open SQL driver to extract data from SAP R/3 using the SAP Integration Kit.
    2. The SAP roles are imported in Business Objects CMC.
    3. Crystal Reports are published on the Enterprise as well.
    3. Authorization objects are created in SAP R/3 and added as required for the row level security as mentioned in the SAP Installation guide as well. The aim is when the user logs into the Infoview and refreshes the report he should only see data that he is meant to so through the authorization objects.The data security works very much fine when the reports are designed directly on the table but when the reports are built on the Business View it doesnt work hence the user is able to see all data.
    Any help in this issue is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    In order for row level security to work for you using the OpenSql driver, you need to configure the Security Definition Editor on your SAP server.  This is a server side tool which the Integration solution for SAP offers as a transport.
    This tool defined which tables are to be restricted based on authorizations.
    However since you are seeing the issue on reports based on Business Views, you need to identify whether the Business View is configured in such a way where the user refreshing the report is based on the user logging into Infoview.  If the connection to your SAP server is always established with the same user when BV is used then you security definition is pointless.
    You can confirm this by tracing your SAP server to identify what user is being used to logon to SAP to refresh the reports.

  • Row highlight does not work when class has a background-clolor

    This is more a CSS / javascript question but since the problem occurs in Apex I'll try my luck here.
    I try to implement a row highlight feature that worked in 3.2 but not in 4.0. The difference is that the style that is used for the table cells contains a background-color in the 4.0 template and it did not in 3.2.
    This is how it works.
    I created a report template with "before each row" : <tr onMouseOver="cOn(this);" onMouseOut="cOut(this);">
    The javascript does this:
    function cOn(td) {
       if(document.getElementById||(document.all && !(document.getElementById))) {
          if (td.previousSibling != null) {
              td.style.backgroundColor="#FFFF99";
              td.style.color="#000000";         
    }My thought was that td.style.backgroundColor="#FFFF99" would overrule the background color given by the class but when this happens from within javascript this does not work. Is this proper behaviour? Are there other methods that will work?

    Application ###>Shared Componets>Templates>Edit Report Template
    Column Template 1 looks like:

    I am trying to use the value in "Column Template 2" when to value of the #COLUMN_VALUE# < 0

    I get the following error when I run the page:

  • How to refer a column value of a single row in conditional column display?

    Hello,
    does anybody have an idea, how i can refer a column value of a single row in conditional display of a column?
    So my idea is, that a report has a column, which value is only displayed, when another column value of this row has a specific value.
    I want to solve this problem with condition type: PL/SQL Function Body returning a boolean.
    But I do not know how to refer the column value of each single row!

    Here's a solution that, to me, seems easier to implement but, that's, of course, in the eye of the implementer.
    Rather than using APEX to generate a link column for you, actually create the link as part of your SQL.
    select '<a href="f?p=102:3:491847682940364::::P3_CONTACT_ID:' || CONTACT_ID || "><img src="/i/themes/theme_1/ed-item.gif" alt="Edit"></a>' CONTACT_LINK, ...
    etc.
    Test this out. You'll see that it works just like making a column a link using the column attributes.
    Next, we'll change the SQL to use a DECODE statement to either display the link or nothing depending on what your criteria is. For example, let's assume you only want a link for active contacts.
    select Decode( CONTACT_STATUS, 'A', '<a href="f?p=102:3:491847682940364::::P3_CONTACT_ID:' || CONTACT_ID || "><img src="/i/themes/theme_1/ed-item.gif" alt="Edit"></a>', NULL ) CONTACT_LINK, ...
    etc.
    This will not display the link in any rows in which the CONTACT_STATUS is not active, i.e. "A"

    {code}Where do you see this? It looks like there's a mismatch between the report columns returned by the query and those referenced in the report template. Or the data contains unsafe HTML characters that aren't being escaped.
    Yes, my report query has a column called ID and it's set as Hidden. This could be the problem. In a report based on a named column template any columns referenced in the template must be +shown+ in the report, even if (as in this case) the column value is not visible to the user: the positioning of the <tt>#ID#</tt> column placeholder in the <tt>onclick</tt> attribute rather than in a table cell is what makes it "hidden". *The Show checkbox for the ID column must be checked.*
    From the gobbledygook being generated it looks like there could be a row selector checkbox column in this report as well? Named column row templates must include substitution placeholders for every shown column. It's also advisable to keep the columns in the same order in the SQL, report column attributes and row template.

Otherwise we're likely to and up with a lot of tedious to and fro here posting bits of code and attribute values.
