RPC FAILURE: For stress test

I am working with Sun Rpc for providing the client server interface in my project. I have observed that during stress testing after approx 3 hour client start taking a lot of time to process and give back the result. Although server side time stamp is still in microseconds, whereas client side gone in secs.Do any body face such problem previously if yes please let me know the solution.

Hi Tim.
Did you figure this problem out?
I'm having some kind of the same problem.
And is curious about how you solved it.

  • Please recommend a tool for stress-testing ?

Could anyone please recommend a (free) tool to do multi-threaded stress-test, on plain java classes ?
In more detail: I'd like to do unit-test for some plain java methods (only mathematical calculations. No web interface, no swing).
The emphasis is stress test: i need to launch multiple threads, all of them repeately invoking my method. Under these conditions, I need to report correctness (has the method yielded the expected return value), and statistics on response time.
Any recommendations would be appreciated . Thanks !

Working on a project that need me read data from delimited text file, the data will be converted to a tree-structure. So it's better parse the data into XML format first. What??? Why? You've got a text file and need an object tree, why do you think going to XML in between is a good idea?
Besides j2se or jdom, any fast tool for it?What do you mean with "j2se", that's not a XML handling tool (it contains several, 'though).
SAX sounds good for building object trees from XML, but there are several XML mapping libraries out there (try google).

  • Tools for stress testing

Does any one have any idea if there are any oracle tools to perform stress test on App Server for a given application.

There are tools to perform the performance analysis of BPC, one is loadrunner.  But be careful when defining the "hundreds of users using the application simultaneously"; There are many scenarios in my mind, where you could have several hundred users using BPC, but not sending or retrieving data at the exact same time.  You might check the SAP sit eto see if any presentations are posted from the Sapphire conference this Spring.
    Hope this helps.

  • Load Scripts for stress testing any OAF related application

This may not be the correct forum. However, i'm sure many of you might have used load scripts to stress test your OAF related application.
Can any of please shed some light on how to make these load scripts for automated testing for finding the performance of OAF appls (like iPro or iExpense)? What tool do we use for these type of Self Serv appls? How can we parameterise some of the session related values inside load scripts?
Any of your experiences will give me a good start....Thanks

Answers to these questions are generally dependent on the application server to which you will be deploying, as each application server has its own means of tuning for performance.
For tuning Sun's App Server 8, see the online Performance Tuning Manual, at http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2561

  • IDOC massive loading (for stress tests purposes)

    Team,
Is there a clean and easy way to load (tons) of IDOC into SAP XI ?
Using the WE19 tcode ? Write an ABAP pgm that will loop ?
We are looking for a method to do our IDOC stress test.
    Merci !

    Hi,
in WE20 put IDOCs in collect mode (outbound profile)
then record WE19 and create a few 1.000
then bd87 and here we go
or BD10 and you can create many at once (materials)

  • Using "sapbi://" URL in web browser for stress-testing

    Hello,
I want to test the connection limits of the deployed MobileBIService in the CMC, as I've experienced some sluggish connections.
I've checked, and the "sapbi://" URI points directly to the SAP BI app, which then opens the requested report. A link example is:
    sapbi://OpenDoc/?
    ConnectionType=BOEConnection&connection_name=123&server_url=10.10.10.10:8080&cms=10.10.10.10&Type=webi&iDocID=AXtcyDP4u09Jn1_P9BSR9H0
Is it possible to mask http data coming from a web browser, as coming from a mobile device (via the SAP BI app), in order to test the mobile service/server?
If not, what is the http data request used in the app that can be used in a web browser, and still go through the MobileBIService?
Is there a way to trace the data, to make sure that that server is being stressed?
    I am using:
    Android SAP BI app;
SAP BO 4.1 SP04, with Mobile CMS deployed.
Thanks in advance for the insights!
    Best Regards,

On the other hand, my users want this. I just pushed out the Reader 8.2.3 update with the 8.2.0 install. Unfortunately, I had erroneously set the mst to "Make Reader default if both Acrobat and Reader are installed." They all want Acrobat to be their default. Can I use this same registry setting? I'm going to try it for a few people and see if it works.

  • Cloning the webintelligence reporting server for stress testing

    Hello,
We are currently running a BO XI 3.0 system (Edge version) and using 3 clones of the webintelligence server in the CMC. When doing stresstesting (with more or less 300 sessions open all  at once), we receive a message that one of the cloned web intelligence servers (services) is down: this is the message: The web intelligence server can not be reached, please take contact with the BO administrator (Error: RWI 00236) Error: INF). We presume that one of the cloned web intelligence servers is going down but we wonder if we can just clone the same server several times more or if we need to adapt the configuration parameters of each cloned service. How can we audit where the reason lies for this server to stop working or to crash?
    Can someone help us out?
    thanks in advance

  • Database base storage stress test

    Hi,
I have a ucm 11g instance up and running with SSO.
I need to test database storage against filesystem storage.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to test this?
Also I'm sure I read somewhere (but I can't find it now) that once I go in one direction I can't go back, does anyone have any details about this?
    Many thanks
    James

First of all, take a look at File Store Provider (here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e10792/c02_settings005.htm#CSMSP445)
In general, filesystem storage is always used even if you store data in the database, in the end. It is, though, understood as a temporary storage. In theory, you can keep your files in both locations and I see no reason why you should not be able to go from FS to DB and back, BUT you have to consider consequences (you might have to rebuild indexes or even migrate data from one storage to the other).
As for stress tests, first you have to decide WHAT you want to test. Potential candidates are:
    - checkin of a single item (wasted effort: since FS is always used as an intermediate storage it will always be a bit faster)
    - mass checkin (e.g. from Batch Loader - especially if you use Fast Checkin settings, db can be a bit faster, but you will need a real lot of small files)
    - search
    - update (metadata - wasted effort: should be the same)
    - backup
    - migration of content
Then, you will have to setup two environments with more-or-less the same conditions (CPU power, memory, disk speed).
And finally, you will have to create and run you test cases. I'd suggest to automate stress tests via writing a program calling the same services with the same data. Use WebServices (if non-Java) or RIDC (if Java).
Alternatively, if your task is "to get results" rather than "perform stress tests", you could try to approach consulting services or project managers to provide some normalized results for you. Something can be obtained in this whitepaper: http://www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/content-management/ecm-extreme-performance-wp-077977.pdf

  • Stress Test Tool

Dear Experts, I have here installed the Enterprise Portal only in JAVA, NW2004s 7.0.
Our Go-Live is near and I want to know if haves any tool to stress the access to my Portal.
Somebody know any free tool to stress the test that I need to do?
    Thanks for all.

    Hello Marcos,
we have used the "Web Application Stress Tool" for stress tests:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e2c0585a-062a-439e-a67d-75a89aa36495&displaylang=en
You can record a typical task in your portal and after that you can make a stress test with it.
After your stress test you will get an overview of the response times and performance. If you wish you can go in detail too.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Stress Test Software

    Hello,
I like to stress test my Oracle 9i database, can someone recommend a software for stress testing. Thank you.

There are a variety of third party load test tools available, generally part of a suite of QA tools. You can also build your own test harnass.
99% of the work, however, is in figuring out what to run to put a representative stress on your application and, thus, your database. Figure out a representative number of OLTP users, a representative number of DSS users, an appropriate overlap in time and in data, etc.

  • SAP performance test, stress test using HP LoadRunner

    Hi experts,
Our project is going to Go live soon, customer want to ensure about performance of SAP system and require some testing.
I am preparing HP LoadRunner script and perform a most complex scenario for stress test. But with performance test, we cannot perform because we do not have enough transaction data
Please advice me some solution for this case
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Luong Doan

    Hello,
If you are looking for simulating load using minimalist tools, a crude way to do this would be configuring Ecatt scripts and running them from multiple machines
But I think it doesn't work for web based transactions.

  • BIP 10g stress test

    Hi everyone,
Have any one idea about how to perform an stress test to a BIP installation? Which are the KPI a customer is looking for to aprove a clustering solution?
There is any official tool from Oracle? or should I ask 20 people to run reports at the same time to see how it answer?
    Thanks,

You could use a product like LoadRunner for stress testing. I am not aware of an official tool from Oracle..

  • SQL connection errors when stress testing mobile service: SQL failure after 3 attempts

I have created a Mobile Service (node.js), which has been running for a few months with 50-100k api calls per day with no issues.
The usage of the service will be scaled up soon, and it will receive much higher traffic, so I am running stress tests (on a staging deployment of the same service).
The api in question queries data from the sql database that is attached to the mobile service, but caches the resulting data in a redis database for 5 minutes, so each call with identical parameters will not access the SQL database, just the redis cache.
My first test never has any problems:
Run a single api calls as fast as possible using the program wrk (https://github.com/wg/wrk). This test never has a problem, and I have run it an hour continuously with a sustained rate of 200 req/s and very few timeout errors.
The second test always causes problems:
I created a list of 5 different api calls to the same service (same endpoint, but different parameters), and I run those randomly interweaved as fast as possible. I use the program locust (http://locust.io) for this, spawing 10.000 clients at a rate of 500
per second. For the first few seconds everything goes ok, but then connections start failing massively.
    I get mostly:
Error: SQL failure after 3 attempts. Error: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]TCP Provider: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected
    host has failed to respond.
     (SqlState: 08001, Code: 10060)
And I see this in the http response:
ConnectionError(ProtocolError('Connection aborted.', gaierror(8, 'nodename nor servname provided, or not known')),)
The strange thing is that since I am running the same five calls repeatedly, only the very first of each call will actually access the sql database, every subsequent call will just return data directly from redis, and not try to access the sql database at
    all.
In the azure console for the sql database in question, I see 1860 successful connections and 11 failed connections, which does not explain the massive failure rate I am seeing.

Thanks for sharing your tips on this forum, as it will be useful for other users, that run into this issue.
Feedback like this will also help us improve error reporting in the next release, as missing class files in the packaged application is a common issue when developers are moving from the embeded oc4j instance packaged with JDewveloper to standalone instances.
