RSC GUI error : user and passowrd incorrect but telnet is right
Hi all, I had installed RSC on my v480 server and u10 client.when I connect to RSC by telnet ,the user and password is correct,but when I used RSC GUI, it make error : the user and password is incorrect.
after I reset RSC,the error is here. how to fix it ? thanks .
Solved it Just now! The user Name though was different in the USer accounts panel in Control Panel Windows. The actual USER name was PC. Found it in Advance USER name settings In windows.
Use that USER name and You will be able to Login without an Issue!.
PS: Cross Platform Is a goddam **** off!

First off I'm sorry if this was already posted. I've researched for the last two hours and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.
So its to my understanding then when you delete a Server Login, if you have a user that uses that Login and THAT LOGIN only, once you delete the login the user is now an orphan user.
I've been running the orphan user sp (

but recently I've deleted a login, the user still exists on the database, but it should now be an orphan user right? I know for a fact this user is not in any other group, and it should be an orphan user. So why isn't it? :(Hi Krystina,
Your question may be that sp_change_users_login didn't detect an orphan user scenario? If so, I would recommend checking sys.server_principals and sys.database_principals to verify for certain (and if you have a reproduction of the exact issue, please post
here).
Here is a demo that walks through the by-design behavior (dropping login will not equate to dropping a user, and that user will be an orphaned user).

Pls do check in SM59 transaction whether you are able to do a remote logon to R/3 system using this RFC destination which you have created.
Make sure that you are using a user id which is having relevant authorizations and make sure that you have entered the user id and password correctly.

Can Connect to PC AIM Users and Have Audio but No Video, But Worked Before!
Hi all,
I know this has been answered a thousand times in a thousand ways, but I still can't make it work. I purchased a MacBook with built-in iSight using OS X 10.4.11. For the first three months of use, I logged into AIM through iChat and was able to chat with any user using both audio and video with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Now, I can still connect to other users but they only receive audio from me and no video while I still have a video display at my end. In other cases, I can't connect whatsoever. I am not using a Firewall, so there should be not port issues. I have not once changed my settings from the time that they worked until now. Neither have my chatting companions (most of whom are on PCs, by the way). I am on the same ISP using the same modem.
I have tried every setting change in the book. I have deleted the preferences file. I've opened up ports when I don't need to. I am completely, utterly at my wits end, since video chat is one of the few things that keeps me sane in a long distance relationship.
What's gone wrong?

2 Users and 2 iPhones, but only 1 MBP. Need strategy.
I have a MacBook Pro and iPod touch. I'll be getting a roommate soon at which time we both plan on purchasing iPhones. My research on these forums indicates you can use multiple devices, e.g. a touch and iPhone from the same Mac and iTunes. I'm not clear about 2 iPhones though. Also I cannot get my head around what strategy to use with iTunes to keep different playlists, videos, songs, apps, contacts, etc., etc. straight with one iTunes? Is iTunes smart enough to know which iPhone is which and the preferences for each separate? Even if yes doesn't that mean everything from both people will have to be in the same iTunes which could get confusing.
Any advice or strategy before I start my adventure would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. You can sync multiple iPods and/or iPhones with the same iTunes library on the same computer. There is no device limit, and each iPod and/or iPhone can have its own sync preferences with iTunes on the same computer.

It shouldn't get confusing. You can create your iTunes playlist and transfer your selected playlist to your iPhone only. The same for podcasts, video, 3rd party apps, and for photos transferred to your iPhone. Your roomate can do the same making the desired selections under the various tabs for his/her sync preferences.
The problem will be if you won't be sharing the same/existing iTunes account, and syncing contacts with the Address Book and calendar events with iCal.
A Mac is designed for multiple computer login accounts with each login account having its own Home folder directory that is kept seperate. You can enable Fast User Switching to make the process of switching between multiple login accounts a fast and easy process.
Your roomate can access his/her email accounts only with the Mail.app under his/her login account, the same for contacts in the Address Book, calendar events in iCal, iPhoto library, the iTunes library with a different iTunes account, along with all user data with both login accounts kept completely seperate. Each login account has a Shared folder where documents can be placed to be shared between each login account. Each login account can have its own wallpaper, screen saver, various computer settings, etc., etc. giving each login account the impression the computer is his/her own computer. Each login account has access to the same applications, and you can give another user account computer admin privileges or not. -
Login Error. Username Pass wrong - but they ar right
I have iCloud on my mac and iPhone.
I have to user accounts on my mac. One works without problem the second brings an error.
It says username or password wrong I should try again. The Username and password are correct because they work on my second account, my iPhone and online.
I just get the message I should try again.
What can I do, any ideas?I found the solution. Go to you User folder:
User / Library / Application Support / iCloud
and either delete the folder Accounts or rename it.
Quit Systempreferences and restart it and login to iCloud.

SMB on Server 10.5.6: Vista user needs to enter user and pass after restart

What could we do?Is your server bound to AD, and your PC clients as well (probably) ?
First, stop SMB.
Then, backup /etc/smb.conf
Then edit it (use nano or vi or emacs via the Terminal. If you must use the GUI then use TextWrangler.
Make sure the file permissions are preserved.
under the [global] section of /etc/smb.conf, make the following modifications (add the entry if it's not there):
security = ads
windbind separator = +
; auth methods = guest opendirectory
ie: comment out "auth methods" via the ";"
Start smb and compare. Anytime you make a change in the GUI tools, verify your edits are preserved. -

User and owner password have same access permissions

I'm trying to implement standard encryption (128 bit RC4 for now), and as far as I can tell it works.
The one thing that worries me is that, even when I use the owner password, I have restrictions. I get access to the document with (and only with) the user and owner passwords, but in both cases I can't print if I disable it. In PDF 32000-1:2008, pag. 59 it says: "opening the document with the correct owner password should allow full (owner) access to the document". Both Acrobat Reaqder 7.0 and Foxit do this, and I've tested other encrypted documents that show the same behaviour.
What can I do to enable printing as owner, but not as user?

Thanks for the help but I am able to change the title, authors name etc from the Postscript file so that prompted me to think that we may well be able to set passwords using the same. Any other source via which I can set password like ghostscript or some other open source , third party tool ?

Importing user and group database from 2.6 to 4.0

I need to import the user and groups from version 2.6 ACS to version 4.0. The 2.6 online documentation talks of using the CSUtils to create a .txt back up of the users and group. But I cannot see how to import that into 4.0. Has anyone done this. Any info would be appreciated,

I looked at what I had imported using the instructions you had supplied me and it looked fine, all users and group, tacacs privelege levels had been imported. I modified a router on our network to point at the ACS 4.0. on testing it looks like the passwords hadn't been copied across successfully. Logins are failing with 'invalid CS password' in the failed authentication log. If I changed the password manually it was fine.
Have you seen that before?

My iPad receives email on the hotel wifi but will not send. The error message reads "user name or password for smpt......is incorrect" but both are correct and unchanged. Restarting iPad did not help.
I did try this too, but when I access my webmail on the iPad, the iPad doesn't allow me to type my message. I am able to enter in the "to" address and the "subject" line, but then the keyboard will not come up for me to type my message. Is there some trick to this? Very frustrating!

Hi Allan, thanks for that. I've already set up a log in for my wife and that is all working fine. The problem is that when she logs in and opens iTunes and trys to associate her library with her iTunes account she gets the error message "This computer is already associated with another iTunes account". Whilst this is true, the computer is associated with my iTunes account under my separate log in, which should have nothing to do with hers. If she transfers the association to her account it will lock me out of my content on my log in for 90 days - I'm trying to work out how to associate each of the log in accounts with a separate iTunes account so we can access our music independently of one another without locking each other out. Hope that makes sense!
