RSS feed: Invalid XML

Hello everyone.
I want to submit my podcast to iTunes, but I have a problem with the XML file.
Feed Validator said to me:
Sorry
This feed does not validate.
line 1, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:1:0: not well-formed (invalid token) [help]{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1036{\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset ...
Source: http://*********/RSS.xml
{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1036{\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Verdana;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Calibri;}}
{\colortbl ;\red68\green68\blue68;}
For more details, here is the XML file.
I really hope you guys well be able to help me.

You appear to have created your feed in a word processing program: it's full of formatting codes such as \par, and the opening couple of lines are full of garbage: the required xml declaration is missing.
This page includes a sample basic feed so you can see what one should look like: your feed must be plain text.

    Error parsing feed: invalid XML: Error Line 1: Content is not allowed in prolog
    this is my URL

    That's not a feed, it's a web page. Your feed is at

    and this can be subscribed to successfully in iTunes.

  • Download RSS feed as xml file from Sharepoint Online using PowerShell

    Hello
    Our company sharepoint (Office 365) contains also several RSS feeds.
    How it is possible to download xml file out of this feed (website) using PowerShell?
    I can authenticate with sharepoint using CSOM but do not what to do next.
    As service user is not administrator I cannot use "SPOService".
    This script works OK for standard website, but not for Sharepoint.
    $doc = New-Object System.Xml.XmlDocument
    $doc.Load("http://www.{CompanySite}.com/feed/")
    $doc.save("C:\temp\feed.xml")
    I am getting this error when using for company Sharepoint:
    "The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden."
    Thanks for your time considering this question.

    Hi Scott,
    thanks for advice.
    Combination of WebClient and Sharepoint Credentials is working OK:
    $client = New-Object System.Net.WebClient
    $client.Credentials = New-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.SharePointOnlineCredentials($User, $SecurePassword)
    $client.Headers.Add("X-FORMS_BASED_AUTH_ACCEPTED", "f")
    $client.DownloadFile($SiteURL, $file)

  • Newbie here trying to load an rss feed thru xml in Flash AS 2.0

    I have never looked into RSS feeds before, I now have someone that wants  Yahoo rss newsfeed  embedded in his main.fla. I have an AS 2.0 rss newsreader he sent to me, knowing nothing about RSS I started to look around and eventually got to a point where I went to a Yahoo RSS feed and copied the source page and dropped it in the xml file that came with the feedreader. When saved, published and uploaded to the server the file displays the feed from yahoo fine, but it never update the stories. I would think this has to do with the xml as it is embedded in the page so it can't change so my question is how do I get an rss feed converted to xml to update???
    I gotta be missing something here, I hope this isn't too dumb of a question.
    RD

    Yep, as I suspected a dumb question. All I had to do was replace the xml file name with rssurl and it worked.
    sorry guys. I have another question regard this I will post separate.

  • Getting rss feed to xml

    ok does anyone here know if there is a way to have a geocites html site into a xml, if not do u know a free websitie that i can put my rss feed on. thanks

    You can use Blogger, GCast, Blogspot,... Then use Feedburner to point to your RSS feed at the free site and only give out the Feedburner URL.
    The real issue is in the free hosting of your MP3 files - Gcast offers that, you can also use Internet Archive.

  • RSS Feed invalid

    Hi,
    please check the RSS feeds on the HTML DB, as they have errors. Check out this one http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/studio.popular.rss
    best regards
    Carsten

    Look also at the Oracle HTML DB Studio Recent Additions. It gives a nice Oracle error message:

    Please when you have a query post the URL of your feed, not its contents.  Is this your feed? -
    http://kpssctoxicology.org/Podcast/kptoxcast_test_rss_092711.xml
    You have a number of cases of a string of spaces in titles: you also have one in a URL which will render that link invalid.
    But what is rendering the whole feed unreadable is your category link:
    <category>Science & Medicine</category>
    The presence of an ampersand ('&') by itself indicates the start of a code sequence, and in the absence of one, and its closing character, invalidates everything which follows, and thus the entire feed. You must replace the ampersand with the code
    &amp;
    Additionally, your opening lines should read thus:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
    (with the 'purl.org' line if you like).
    If you are going to submit a feed to iTunes you might want to reconsider have 'test' in the filename: apart from the Store having a tendency to reject obvious test podcasts which may not reflect the finished version, you will be stuck with this URL and though you can change the feed URL it's an additional hassle.

  • Error parsing feed: invalid xml

    Just got an email yesterday that my podcast was taken down due to technical problems. But it was fine for the last 3 years. I use feedburner and everything seems to be fine on their side. my feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/bolttalk
    Apple please help!

    It's all fixed.

  • I am unable to submit my RSS feed into iTunes

    Podcast RSS feed not being accepted by iTunes
    I have registered my main podcast RSS feed in iTunes successfully. I want to migrate this RSS feed from feedburner to PowerPress, but I want to prototype it first before I move the real feed. To that end, I created another Blogger blog site and Feedburner rss feed that has the same settings as my main feed. The feed is using SmartCast to configure the RSS feed for iTunes compatibility. I cannot get the test feed to load into iTunes though. I get this error message:
    Podcast cover art must be at least 1400x1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.
    I had the artist give me a 1400x1400 pixel version of the logo in RGB color space (I’m not sure how to verify this).  Here is a link to the logo, if anyone can tell by looking at the picture or site what is wrong that needs to be fixed. http://s24.postimg.org/lvuuf7v91/ARP_logo_i_Tunes.jpg
    I have read as many forum posts as I can to try and solve this issue and nothing has worked so far. Can someone tell me what is wrong with my image or RSS feed that is causing iTunes to reject the feed?
    Here is the RSS feed:

  • Is it possible to create an RSS feed in Dreamweaver CC (Mac 10.8.5)?

    I'm a relative beginner in terms of HTML/CSS and Dreaweaver CC. I've created a site using the dynamic layout option in Dreamweaver CC and now want to explore sharing out my content via RSS feeds. I've tried to install the Dreamfeeder extension but it doesn't work and I can't find much posted on this topic. What are my options here?

    hi i am using action script 2.0
    i have a url to a RSS feed, can someone tell me how to
    display the contents of the url in a textarea.

    An RSS feed is XML - you will have to parse the XML (see the
    XML class) and
    display the contents... no way to automagically do it.

  • RSS feeds and Safari

    When using Safari under Leopard my RSS feeds aren't working correctly. Using my existing bookmarks, I pull down to one of the RSS bookmarks, just as I did with Tiger. I then get an error message like
    "Safari can’t open the page “feed://www.sfgate.com/rss/feeds/news.xml”. The error was: “The feed could not be loaded because the content is not in a known feed format.” (PubSub:2) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message."
    All I have to do is click on the Reload button and the feed shows up fine. So why doesn't it just go ahead and show the feed the first time. The URL does not change at all after hitting the Reload button, but the page shows up as it should then.

    I cannot help because I have the same problem. It comes and goes. Started last week and went away. Then it happened again this morning. It will NOT work when I hit reload. I am glad to know I am not the only one. I reset permissions, cleared history and cache and am going after the library files next. But I cannot associate any action I have taken with the mysterious return of the capability of Safari to read xml.

  • How to create an XML/RSS feed from a SQL recordset?

    I've been trying to find either a tutorial or extension that will allow me to take a SQL recordset, and create my RSS feed on the fly.  Not having much luck... anyone out there have a suggestion??

    Thanks PC!
    I made it work using:
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    factory.setIgnoringComments(true); // We want to ignore comments
    // Now use the factory to create a DOM parser
    DocumentBuilder parser = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    //TransformThisStringBuffer is a string buffer wich contain the 'XML document (String)'
    InputStream in = new ByteArrayInputStream(TransformThisStringBuffer.toString().getBytes());
    // Parse the InputStream and build the document
    Document document = parser.parse(in);
    But which one is faster InputSource or InputStream, were would you put the "new InputSource(new StringReader(yourString))" in the above code?

  • Using xml rss feeds in dreamweaver

    I used dreamweaver to configure a rss feed in my webpage.
    One thing led to another and I was forced to reinstall my php
    server via
    xampp
    Now when I load the page on my computer I have this error:
    Fatal error: Call to undefined method domdocument::loadXML()
    in
    N:\INETPUB\xampp\htdocs\1purpose_bethel\includes\MM_XSLTransform\MM_XSLTransform.class.ph p
    on line 303
    I checked the includes folder and I do have the class file
    MM_XSLTransform.class.php
    but what I am wondering is if there is a place in my php.ini
    file that needs
    to modified to allow for the RSS feed? Or is there something
    else that I am
    over looking?
    any insight would be greatly appreciated
    thank you
    Kevin

    Hi, I'm also having the same error. I found in some other
    forums that I should do the following (I think its you David who
    suggested it):
    comment the line --> $xml =
    DOMDocument::loadXML($content);
    then add these two lines
    $doc = new DOMDocument();
    $err = $doc->loadXML($content);
    Well, actually when MM_XSLTransform.class.php was created it
    was already updated. But I'm still getting the error.
    I'm still a baby in PHP and I've been trying to figure it out
    for 2 days and nothing is happening.
    Please, please...your response will be highly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Jeng
