The Second Widget needs to display images as well within the

I also included a much better alternative than iweb rss feed widget but you will have to do much of Yahoo's Pipes studying.

  • Execute script from Flash Widget

    Hello everyone,
    I'm on a panel, and I just wanna know:
    is it possible to execute a script from a flash widget, and how?
    I was thinking of Flash' "getURL()" function, without any success.
    The idea is that I want to make some sort of form in flash (since it's the only way to give the user custom input, according to me) and execute a script using the user's input...
    Any ideas??
    TIA, Robin

    Please refer this article

    You also can create a Flash Panel which can call extendscript with FlexBuilder/FlexSDK + Adobe Flash Panel SDK.

  • Spry RSS Feed widget works in IE but not Firefox or Chrome

    I've been trying to use the Spry RSS Feed widget (6/9/2011 - via the Widget Browser) to feed a Wordpress blog I have onto my site.  I customized the widget and installed the widget to my page, but it only works in IE (Version 8), and not in Firefox (9.0./1) or Chrome (16.0.912.63 m).  I thought maybe I had something conflicting with it on my page, so I even tried inserting into a completely blank page, but I get the same results.
    I've scoured the web for options to get this feed onto my site, and found PHP solutions, and a bunch of other tools, but I'm not much of a coder, and haven't been able to get them to work at all.
    I'm using CS 5.5
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks!!
    Here's the code from the blank page I tried:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

    <script src="SpryAssets/xpath.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryStackedContainers.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script type="text/xml">
    <!--

      <oa:widget wid="2567023" binding="#OAWidget" />
    </oa:widgets>
    -->
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    // BeginOAWidget_Instance_2567023: #OAWidget
    var ds1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss", "rss/channel/item");
    ds1.setColumnType("description", "html");
    // EndOAWidget_Instance_2567023
    </script>
    <div spry:region="ds1" class="StackedContainers">
      <div spry:repeat="ds1" class="RowContainer">
        <div class="RowColumn"><a href="{link/@href}">{title}</a></div>
        <div class="RowColumn">{description}</div>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>

    The problem is that XML data cannot be transmitted cross domain.
    This example, http://pleysier.com.au/rss/, uses Spry.Data.YQLDataSet to overcome the limitation, see here https://github.com/3rd-Eden/Spry-YQL-DataSet

  • Need Help Putting a Flash Widget into an Image Being Exported into HTML

    Hi, I'm making a banner for the top of my band's MySpace. I only got into making layouts and such because we didn't want to spend the money on hiring a professional, so I'm kind of new to this and I don't know if anyone can help but what I'm trying to do is put a flash widget (for Twitter) into an image on Photoshop which I will then export into html. Can I do this on Photoshop or do I need to do it on another program. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    No, this requires you to learn HTML and create the proper embedding code and page layout.

  • Cp6 - Creating a TOC button (without Flash widget)

    Hello everyone,
    I am working on a elearning template that doesn't use a time slider bar so, navigation is done through the use of back/next buttons.
    I am also employing the Captivate TOC as a overlay. The problem I am having is that the default trigger to open the TOC is not only intrusive in it's default top-left corner location (affecting our branding), it is also a potential source of confusion for learners (to find it).
    Apparently, there is a way to implement a TOC button on the master slide (without using a widget) in Captivate 6. Can someone please tell me how this is accomplished?
    ---------------- FLASH WIDGET IS A LAST RESORT
    As a last resort, I will consider a Flash widget for now. Apparently, there is a good one here: http://www.cpguru.com/toc-button-widget-for-adobe-captivate/
    The problems:
    1) We want to avoid Flash, if possible, because our elearning content will eventually need to be outputted as HTML 5.
    2) CPUGURU's widget source is not available and it is not in AS3 code (AFAIK). We will need the source for further customization.
    Does anyone know how to open and close the TOC without a Flash widget?
    Thank you,
    Doug

    Hello Doug,
    Do you have the playbar enabled? In that case, if you set the TOC as overlay there is 'TOC' button which appears automatically in the playbar. Are you looking for something else?
    Thanks,
    Vish

  • Rss Weather Widget

    Does anyone know of a good rss Weather widget that will not
    only display text, but the appropriate weather image (sun, rain,

  • Why won't the images display in this flash widget?

    why won't the images display in this flash widget?
    http://www.coffeeandcandles.com/Wholesale_s/41.htm

    more info would help. If you're using actionscript and
    loading images from a folder maybe your path to that location is
    wrong. It's possible that your images aren't in the right layer or
    level but noticed that when initially published.

  • How to integrate adobe flash widgets from Adobe captivate with Adobe Presenter?

    Hi all,
    We are a group of students who are creating a number of flash widgets that allows them to create e-learning  activities. We are creating specific widgets in Flash  for use in Captivate and then the results of the widgets in Adobe Presenter. The  client noticed that widgets that work in Adobe Captivate don't always work in  Adobe Presenter. Is there a way to make this function  correctly?
    Secondly, if it  isn't possible to make that work correctly through the first method, is it  possible to utilise Adobe Air to do the same or similar process. The client  would prefer if we could integrate anything we use with an LMS and SCORM. But we  believe it may not be possible to do this with Adobe Air.
    Would someone be able to help us out with this?
    Thanx

    Some of the functionalities of CP4 (I assume that you use this version?) only work in a CP-published SWF, p.e. using the right mouse click as a trigger. I have inserted several CP-SWF's into Adobe Presenter, while using some of the widgets provided with CP4 and did not have any problems with these (p.e. Flash button). But I do not know what kind of widgets you created. Do they function all right in CP4 itself?

  • Super Simple Flash Game Tutorials?

    I'm looking for some super simple flash game tutorials that students can complete in about an hour.  I don't want a lot of actionscript, but some is necessary and that's fine.  Drop any links you may know of or any book titles.  I don't mind buying a book if it is what I'm looking for.  Flash CS5

    This is an old technique but it works great using php:

  • Editing swfobject.js code so hyperlinks inside the flash widget open in a new window

    0down votefavorite
    I have a flash calendar widget (code shown directly below) and I do not have access to anything other than the compiled .swf file (no access to .fla).
    The widget contains some hyperlinks to other websites, these links are dynamic and changes based on a number of things.
    There is also a corresponding swfobject.js file that is used to add functionality to the flash widget. The swfobject.js code is shown further down this post.
    Currently, the way the code is now, when I click any of the hyperlinks that are available to me in the widget, the destination website that hyperlink takes me to opens in THE SAME PAGE as the flash widget which is a big problem.
    I need to edit the code below so that any hyperlinks that are clicked inside of the flash widget open in a brand new browser window and do not take the user away from the original widget other than opening a new page with new content.
    Because the hyperlinks that are available are always changing, the swfobject code below uses some functions and parameters.
    I am hoping you can show me exactly what code I must insert, and exactly where I must insert it, in order to alter the behavior that happens so that when a user clicks one of the hyperlinks inside the flash widget, so that the content at the other end of the hyperlink opens in a new window, instead of opening in the same window.
    See code below.
    Thank you in advance for any help you can provide

    In that case, I will have no choice but to decompile the .swf to get the .fla because the original .fla is un-obtainable. Unless there is a way to edit the contents of the .swf file without decompiling it.
    I can see the code inside via various decompile tools and it seems that I would need to add the equivalent of <src target=_blank> to some of the lines I have shown below.
    obj_xml.load(appurl + "loadconfig.aspx?calendarid=" + calendarid);  -- need to edit this so it opens in a new window using something similar to target = _blank
    dest_page = appurl + "default.aspx"; -- need to edit this so it opens in a new window using something similar to target = _blank
    I know a lot of decompile tools can get you the code and the .fla but once you edit and re-compile and attempt to replace the original with the new & updated file, the decompiler did not necessarily generate the properly formatted flash pro project file, so compiling it back into an operational .swf often ends in failure.
    Do you know or can you recommend a tool that has a very good track record of re-compiling the decompiled modified.fla into a workable and usable .swf?

  • Can't open flash widgets on all Apple

    On my Macbook Air, I can open websites with flash widgets.  But on all other MacBook people I know, they are not able to open the same flash widgets even though they seem to have all the same flash setting as I do.  Any suggestions?

    I found the solution. After searching the web for what seemed
    like an eternity, I found the following on a Google Groups page:
    quote:
    1 - How can I make my PC play a flash file on my local hard
    drive?
    Unless you buy Macromedia Flash (the authoring environment)
    you can't play them just straight off, you have to open them with a
    browser which has the Flash Player plugin installed. To do this,
    either right-click on the .swf and select open with... (internet
    explorer) or open IE and then go to file... open.... etc.
    Then I realized that I started having the problem about the
    time I got my new laptop. I didn't install Flash MX on my new
    laptop because I don't really use it anymore, I use Swish, so I
    didn't install it because I hate installing programs I don't use.
    Anyways, I installed Flash MX on my new laptop and walla, I can
    open .swf files on my machine again.
    I didn't realize I had to have Flash installed (the program,
    not the player) in order to be able to open .swf files on my
    machine as opposed to viewing them in a browser. Guess I know now!
    I thought I'd post what I found in case anyone else had the
    same problem and didn't realize it.
    Thanks!

  • Passing Captivate variables to Flash widget

    Hello,
    I'm developing a simple progress bar widget in Flash to add to a Captivate course I'm building.  I believe what I want to do is very simple, but I appear to be missing something.
    Quick synopsis:
    I have created a variable in Captivate 5.5 called intProgress which should be a percentage of a student's progress through the course. I set this manually via an Advanced Action upon entering the slide.
    I've also created a Progress Bar widget in Flash 5.5.  It consists of nothing more than a manual progress bar component in Flash.
    I want to feed that intProgress value from Captivate into my Flash widget, and have the progress bar update accordingly.
    Here is my function (aPb is my progress bar) -
    function courseProgress(intPercentage)
              aPb.setProgress(intPercentage, 100)
    And here is how I am trying to pass the variable over:
    courseProgress(MovieClip(root).intProgress);
    It doesn't look like the variable is coming across from Captivate to the widget.  How can I correctly do this?
    Please let me know what I'm doing wrong and/or what I'm missing here.
    Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
    Daniel

    Cool - I've found out how to access my custom variable thanks to your help.  Right now, I'm using a simple text field as a debug (instead of the progress bar) just until I get everything sorted out.
    In the cpSetValue function of the widget, I tested with the slide name variable you provided first:
    myText.text = "label:" + m_VariableHandle.cpInfoCurrentSlideLabel;
    And then progressed onward to my custom variable.
    myText.text = "prog:" + m_VariableHandle.intProgress; (my custom variable)
    So I have full connection to those, they're reading perfectly.  That m_VariableHandle is giving me the connection I need (good to know for the future).
    They're just not getting updated.  It just keep showing the values for the first slide - for both the SlideLabel and the custom variable. So now my trouble lies not in the reading of the variable, but the updating of it - to get the most current value.  That's a step forward though, very happy about that.
    To answer your question - yes, I'm doing a variable modification on every slide enter.  I'll set my intProgress variable to 5, then maybe 10 on the next slide, then 15, etc.  It's very important that I set that manually, as my project is not linear.  In other words, there may be a trail of 10 slides later on that are a "side" branch - and not part of the course progression.
    So, thanks again for your help. I'm a whole lot closer than I was before!
