RTF output selection for report builder/cfreport

When using CF Report Builder to build a report -- RTF is a
optional file output format, but it is not supported by the
CFReport Tag hence throughs it a error.
Is there a fix I can't find??

Hej!
Test the following expression and let me know if it works.
=COUNT(IIF(Fields!Staus.Value="Complete",1,Nothing))

    Is separate licensing required for Report Builder 3.0 ?

    No report Builder 3.0 is just the client side light-weight component to work with published reports & does not need any specific license however the server over which the reports are published (Eventually) must be appropriately licensed

  • Remote save for report builder

    CF Report builder does not have an option to save .cfr file
    to remote server (rds). I don't have CF installed on my client and
    every time I make changes to .cfr file I have to upload to the
    server.I wish they had remote save option for report builder like
    CF studis or deamweaver.

    My solution was to keep the cfr in the same place as the rest
    of the application. Since when creating a cfr I usually have DW
    open along with it, i just switch back to DW after a save and
    upload the cfr from DW. Not really that big of deal, or I am just
    used to now.

  • Automatic Fill colors for Report Builder pie charts and graphs are too repetitive and hard to differentiate

    I have pie charts or other graphs that show multiple results (7-20).  I set the "fill" colors to Automatic so that the results are dynamic (I don't want to specify a color for each result because I will then be limited that those results--I
    prefer it to be dynamic).
    I noticed that once you get above 4 or 5 results, no matter which palette is used, the "automatic" colors are so closely similar that it is hard to differentiate which color pertains to which result (group).  For example, you could have a
    reports that breaks the results into age groups like 1-18, 19-21, 22-25, 26-30, 31-41, 41-50, 51-65, 66-80, and 81+.  By the time you review the results, there's likely to be 3 pairs of colors (or more) that are so closely similar that you can't
    tell them apart (2 shades of yellow, 3 shades of blue, 2 shades of orange, or green, or teal, or purple or whatever).
    Is there a way to use Automatic for the color scheme (I don't care which color pertains to which category) but also specify to not use colors that seem to bleed together (so that someone viewing the report can actually tell the difference)?  Using SSRS
    2008 Report Builder, if it makes a difference.

    Hi JNehman,
    Reporting Services provides a list of predefined, built-in palettes that you can use to define a color set for series on your chart. All built-in palettes contain between 10 and 16 color values. You cannot extend the built-in palette to include more colors,
    so if you need more than 16 colors, you must define a custom palette.
    A custom palette let you add your own colors in the order you want them to appear on the chart. A custom palette is especially helpful if the number of series in your chart is unknown at design time. For more information, see
    Define Colors on a Chart Using a Palette (Report Builder and SSRS).

    Hi Cherise,
    Vishal's link looks good.
    I have commercial experience in migrating Crystal Reports to SSRS. When performing any type of migration it is always wise for the business requirements to be revisited. It is likely that the business requirements may have changed since the Crystal reports
    were initially developed, etc.
    I've done some research for you and the following link looks quiet impressive and offers a cheap trial, in terms of a direct migration. Please tell me how you get on; -
    http://www.sqlcircuit.com/2013/08/ssrs-how-to-create-report-using-excel.html
    I emphasis again I have commercial experience of lots of migration projects and it would be very unwise to not revisit the business requirements as part of the migration process.
    Kind Regards,
    Kieran.

  • Multiple Selections for Reporting

    hi BW Experts,
    I am asked by my clients to design a BEx query for a report that requires multiple selection for a data field. They want to select multiple codes (out of 10) in the selction window.
    As far I know I can have a single value (1 value) or value range (2 values) selection when defining Variables.
    How is it possible design query to be able to select 10 values in the initial selection window ??
    Is there any way ????
    Please help me ASAP.

    I think there are not enough data.
    Need to check it with the client. I will get back to you about it later.
    Also can you please tell me - how to delete Variables from the system ?
    I deleted the previous one from the query designer.
    But it's atill telling me that The Variable name is available when I tried to create new one with the same name.

  • Formatting the Multi-Valued Parameter Selection in report builder 3.0

    Hi All,
    I have a field from a data set and i assigned it to a parameter that selects multiple values.
    But i want to format(i need only substring of that field value) the data set field value for the user to select those values.
    I build a report dataset model for my report. so I am getting the field values that are present in my database.
    So, how can i change those values before assigning them to the parameter?
    Regards,
    Ganga

    Hi Ganga,
    Based on your description, you want
    a parameter get values from a query but you need only substring of the field value. Right?
    In SQL Server Reporting Service, you could add a
    Calculated Field in the data set. Using expression to substring the field from query. Then we can use this calculated field in parameter.
    We have tested this scenario in our environment. Please refer to steps below:
    Right-click the data set in the Report Data window and select Add Calculated Fields.
    Click “Add” button to add a calculated field(Named “SubString”). Use text functions like Left() and Right() to substring data filed. Type in the expression like:=Left(Fields!CalendarYear.Value,1)+Right(Fields!CalendarYear.Value,2).
    The result is like below:
    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • PS report: multible selection for report selection criteria

    Is there a possibility to define multible selections in the report selection variables of a PS hierarchy report?
    I tried to define them via
    CJE6 -> EDIT -> General data selction
    and entered valiables in the FROM column and the TO column. But when I execute the report it will not show multible selction, but only single selection. Also, I did not find a SAP standard report which has multible selection in the report selection criteria screen.
    I found the multible selections only in the DB profile selection screen and the dynamic selection, but that is not the solution I am searching for.
    Can anybody kindly help me with this?

    E.g. S_ALR_87013532
    here you can see multible selection in the DB profile selection group, but not in the report selection group. I would like to use multible selection in the report selection group, as mentioned above.
    I am aware of the possibility of creating a new DB profile, but this is only my option B.

  • Data Selection for report based upon a 'Prompt Value'

    I want to report information in my report based upon a 'user input prompt value'
    for example:
    'Enter Shareholder Selection - A-Active, I-Inactive, B-Both Active and Inactive'
    if the user enters 'A', the report selects only active shareholders
    if the user enters 'I', the report selects only inactive shareholders
    if the user enters 'B' the report selects all shareholders, active and inactive
    the field in the database that this based upon is their total share value.
    if this field is greater than zero (>0) they are considerd 'active'
    if this field is equal to zero (=0) they are considered 'inactive'.
    I have tried creating some type of filter,  but am not having any luck.
    I saw a few examples within the forums that I have tried without any luck....unfortunately most of the examples I've seen are base one only two choices.
    I'm sure I need to create some type of 'independant varible' but am not sure how to do that either.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Daryl,
    I Tried this unsuccessfully in DESKI . We can't Eliminate Rows having Empty Measure Values or Measure with 0 as values using Table Level Filter as FIlter can't FIlter rows based on Prompt value selection dynamically. Filters filter rows at a time and not based on 3 condition as Active, Inactive and Both. thus filters are of no use.
    I Tried this in WEBI, and it is working perfectly you donu2019t have to create any Object in Universe, you can do it using function UserResponse() at report level.
    Hence if you are comfortable using WEBI for Generating this report then Follow the steps.
    1. Create Report With Name and Shares Object. It will display all Shareholder Names and No.of shares they hold.
    2. Use Status Object in Query filter, use condition as u201CEqual Tou201D and Select prompt. It  contains Active, Inactive and Both as values.
    3. Report will Display all Shareholder names and No. of  shares  like 45, 789, 0, 4562 where 0 is inactive Shareholder and all other are active shareholder.
    4. Create Variable using Formula.
    =If(UserResponse("Enter Status:")="Active" And [Shares]>0;[Shares];If(UserResponse("Enter Status:")="Inactive" And [Shares]<=0;[Shares];If(UserResponse("Enter Status:")="Both";[Shares])))
    5. Remove Shares Object from the report and Put Variable created with Names of Shareholders.
    6. Select Table-> Properties-> Display-> Uncheck the Option u201CShow Rows with Empty Measure Valuesu201D
    7. Report will display Value correctly as per your Prompt value selection.
    I Hope this Helpsu2026
    Thanksu2026

    ==Date ====== Sales ==
    01-01-2012 === $2,325
    01-02-2012 === $1,975
    For this report I got to put two select lists....Year and Month.....
    If the user selects only Year, then it has to display all the dates of that year in the report.....If they select Year and Month then the report shows that year, month rows.....
    I am using variable :P20_YEAR, :P20_MONTH in the report sql where clause with 'AND' condition, who can i modify the sql to achieve above requirement......please suggest me your ideas....

    Something like the following should work:

    AND    TO_CHAR(date_col, 'MM') := NVL(:P20_MONTH, TO_CHAR(date_col, 'MM'));
    Think those should be just regular = signs - you are mixing pl/sql with sql. :)

    Hi hussein,
    I have already applied the patch 6194129 for my windowsXP for Oracle Apps 11i reports and revision.
    My Oracle Report at Linux Apps server is also 6.0.8.28.
    I copied the report from the Oracle Apps server side (Linux) to my client PC windows XP.
    Then I open the report and compile at test run. I did not do any revision yet, but just compile it at the client side.
    But I got error:

    I remember customizing report it R12 using 10g reports but they are not behaving like this. Can I compile my report using 10g instead? for Oracle Apps 11i?

    Thanks

    Hi,
    I remember customizing report it R12 using 10g reports but they are not behaving like this. Can I compile my report using 10g instead? for Oracle Apps 11i? You should not do as Developer 10g is not certified with Oracle Apps 11i.
    For the REP-1212 error, please see (Note: 297522.1 - How to investigate printing issues and work towards its resolution ?).
