Rtf template working in 10g is broken in 11g

A template containing charts and tables work perfectly fine in BI Publisher 10g, but throws an error message in 11g
The error message is this:
Supplemental Detail <Line 45, Column 103>: XML-23002: (Error) internal xpath error
@Line 45 ==> <xsl:for-each select=".//ROW[position() = '1']" xdofo:ctx="17">
I identified the section in the template related to that code:
<?for-each:ROW[position()='1']?><?DBFIELD1?><?end for-each?>
When I remove that code, the template don't error out, but all the charts in the template won't display.
Any hints would be appreciated.

<?for-each:ROW[position()='1']?><?DBFIELD1?><?end for-each?>
to
<?for-each://ROW[position()=1]?><?DBFIELD1?><?end for-each?>
//ROW and '1' as 1

  • A query which works in 10g but not in 11g.

    Hi there,
    We are in the process of upgrading our database from 10g to 11g. We have a test server with 11g, and imported all the 10g data in there. While testing the 11g server, for many queries, we get ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined error, however the same queries work just fine in 10g. Below is a sample query.
    SELECT household_name || ' - Begin Date: ' || TO_CHAR(vnsrp.effective_date,'dd-MON-yyyy') ||
    CASE WHEN vnsrp.second_return_period_type = 'NON_FURLOUGH' THEN
    ELSE NULL
    END household_name,
    second_return_period_id
    FROM vn_secondment_return_period vnsrp
    JOIN ve_household_membership vehm
    ON vehm.family_household_id = vnsrp.family_household_id
    JOIN vb_family_household vbfh
    ON vbfh.family_household_id = vehm.family_household_id
    ORDER BY household_name
    We know, in the above query, the household_name is from both views vn_secondment_return_period and vb_family_household, but to the wonder it works without any error in 10g and not in 11g.
    We have so many queries like this, so changing them to give qualified column name (viewname.columnname) would be a very tedious process for us.
    Is there any simple solution by changing DB parameter like that?
    Advance Thanks,
    Natarajan

    i mean just change the definition of one of these views: vn_secondment_return_period or vb_family_household. I think this is the simplest way.

  • Error Loading External Library - worked on 10g, now upgraded to 11g and not

    I have an external C library that have been using for years to extracy binary data (images, docs, pdfs etc) from a blob column in a table
    This has been working on Oracle 10.2.0.1 on Windows 32 bit for years.
    I have a new server, Windows 2008 64 bit, have installed 11.2.0.1, created a database and done a full datapump export and import.
    My application seems to work fine with the exception of this external dll
    I have made sure the dll is in the correct directory on the server and the library is pointing to it :
    create or replace library EXTERNPROCEDURES as 'C:\oracle\extern\extern.dll';I then have the same wrapper code that works fine on 10g, is there something I need to do on 11g to "authorise" the external dll or anything as I know the security is tighter or is there an issue with the fact this is 64bit Oracle?

    I call extract_b from sqlplus, which calls outputstring which fails with the error message posted
    Not really sure what else I can provide as I've posted the code for outputstring
    The problem is the for some reason Oracle cannot load the dll, I think the code is fine as it has run on 10g, I think the issue is maybe along the lines that there is something extra in 11g I need to do to set the external library up or it's not happy with the fact it's 64bit or the listener.ora needs to be different in 11g or something like that but I am at a loss as where to look

  • IF conditions stopped working in RTF Template

    Hi,
    After applying Financials Family Pack G and Running 'XML Publisher Re-Generate template' program. If conditions with xdoxslt:get_variable on RTF template stopped working.
    Oracle Apps version: 11.5.10.2
    XML Publisher version: 5.0.0
    Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Anil

    Hi,
    First thing I would suggest would be to patch XMLP to 5.6.3.
    This is a far more stable release than 5.0.0.
    Hopefully this should resolve your issues.

  • Rtf Templates created with BI Publisher 11.1.1.3.0 not working in APEX

    I created templates using BI Publisher v10 Desktop that I used to create Report Layouts in APEX and everything worked just fine. However, I've upgraded to BIP 11.1.1.3.0 Desktop and the rtf templates don't work. I suspect that the problem is with the graphs.
    Is there something in my APEX environment that needs to be upgraded or modified to be compatible with the BIP v11 templates? Are templates created with BIP v11 compatible with APEX Reporting?

    I'm having a similar issue with 11.1.1.3.0
    My RTF templated uploaded to APEX correctly, and seems to load and generate ok. The OUTSIDE formatting on the report (title, etc) all seem to show fine, but the actual repeating data block doesn't show any of the data or columns or boxes..... Just the column headers.
    VERY FRUSTRATING......

  • PO PDF errors when using custom RTF Template, but works with custom xsl

    Hi,
    I have done following set up steps for PO PDF
    Setup / Organizations / Purchasing Options / Control TAB / set 'PO Output Format' = 'PDF'
    setup / purchasing / document types / select "Standard Purchase Order" / Set the Document Type Layout to your new template.
    But with the RTF template the PO Output for communication completes with error. However when I use custom XSL-FO style sheet, it works.
    Can anyone help me how I can make my RTF work? When click on the preview of the template, it shows the PDF output though. Am I missing any other set up steps? Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

    I think the only way to have control over the html output is to enclose the tags or any information within a borderless table and align the text and table as necessary...
    Thanks,

  • Landscape in RTF template does not work

    Hi,
    I try to generate an XLS (Excel) document from a RTF template built with Word and the BIP Desktop tool.
    Before saving the RTF template, I go in page setup and set the layout to "landscape".
    When I generate the final document, and open it in Excel, if I go to preview the document is in portrait mode, not landscape.
    How can I do to have the landscape mode ?
    thanks.

    Development has previously confirmed that Page Orientation is not supported for Excel output (ref. bug 8435974). There's an open ER / bug 9818198 which you may want to track via My Oracle Support.

  • How to call a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value

    Hi Gurus,
    Its about calling a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value.
    My requirement is like:
    I got a quote report from Siebel, based on the product PartNumber I need to pull product description or literature from another database database.
    My approach is something like; get a partnumber from quote report pass it to another rtf template which uses the partnumber and get the data from table using DataSource. When user pull a quote report from siebel this new rtf template should attach to the quote at the end.
    I've gone through all available blogs about sub-reports and white papers from Oracle they are not much helpful since I need step-by-step.
    http://www.adivaconsulting.com/adiva-blog/item/36-working-with-rtf-sub-templates.html
    bip-subtemplate-1-132933.pdf
    I'm using 10g obiee integrated with Siebel.
    Just started learning BIP.
    Thanks in advance.

    How to call a rtf template from another rtf template by passing a value try in main template create hyperlink of url with parameters for another template
    http://bipconsulting.blogspot.ru/2010/02/drill-down-to-detail-or-another-report.html
    When user pull a quote report from siebel this new rtf template should attach to the quote at the end.it'll be only another report
    IMHO you can not attach it to main. it'll be second independent report
    you can try subtemplate but it's not about rtf from rtf by click
    it's about call automatically rtf subtemplate from main rtf based on some conditions
    for example, main template contain some data and if some condition is true then call subtemplate and place it instead of its condition

  • "Or" condition in RTF Template

    Hello,
    In my RTF template, I try to test a statement for two values. I tried
    <?xdofx:if :A!='0' or B!= '0'?>
    <?if:A!='0' or B != '0'?>
    It doesn't work : there isn't any error but the result is wrong.
    Is there another syntax I've got to use ?
    Thanks

    Condition usage looks fine.
    Do these conditions individually work? Whats is your requirement?
    If possible paste a sample xml here

  • Xslt graph in a rtf template. Can an external variable be used inside the graph definition?

    I'm working with BI Publisher 10g, building an rtf template that would display a table and a graph by iterating on one of the xml tags from the input file.
    I got the table working using am xslt variable set when the xml tag associated value changes (DATAGROUPID).

    <PUNFAV>4</PUNFAV>
    I can include a complete sample on request, I thought this would be enough to illustrate the issue.
    I'll appreciate any help you can provide.

    I kept researching, I found some possible solution in this blog:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/category/Oracle/Templates/RTF
    so, I created a local SITE variable inside every cell to get the external SITE info:
    <Cell>
    <xsl:variable name="DIMID" select="DIMID"/>
    <xsl:variable name="SITE" select="{xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'SITE')}"/>
    <xsl:value-of select="/DATA/SITE/SITE_DATA[DATAGROUPID = $SITE]/YEAR[SURVEYYEAR = 2012]/DIM[DIMID = $DIMID]/ITEM[ITEMID = 0 and PUNFAV != 0]/PFAV"/>

  • Relative path for images in RTF templates

    Hi everybody!
    When I insert an image in a RTF template, I put its path into the web dialog, in order to see correctly the picture when I open the report from the xmlp server, in this way: url:{"http://servername/analytics/res/Images/image.bmp"}
    How can I make this path relative, in order to see the images even if the server name changes?
    Thanks so!
    Francesco

    Hi Tim,
    I am using BIP 10.1.3.3.2. I am able to access system variable CURRENT_SERVER URL.
    Steps:
    <?param@begin:CURRENT_SERVER_URL?>
    <xsl:value-of select="$ CURRENT_SERVER_URL"/>
    CURRENT_SERVER_URL is getting printed in BI Publisher. Value displayed is http://xx4697.xxx.co.in:9704/xmlpserver.
    Now we are importing xsl into RTF template. File aaa.xsl is stored at [BIP_Installation_Directory\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\default-web-app]
    We have hardcoded the path for XSL in RTF. The path is <?import: http://xx4697.xxx.co.in:9704/aaa.xsl?>
    As we want to set dynamic path we changed hardcoded xsl path to <?import: {$CURRENT_SERVER_URL}/../aaa.xsl?> but it is not working. Sometimes BIP is taking local path of MyDocuments folder and sometimes Desktop path. If I put that XSL file in MyDocuments folder or Desktop, it is working fine. But ideally it should refer [BIP_Installation_Directory\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\default-web-app] path...
    Thanks,
    Amit D

  • .rtf template and bi server repository failure (newbee tutorial)

    I've installed BISE1 on Windows Server 2003 and followed the tutorial. I successfully fulfilled all the excercises except the last one: the creation of Oracle BI Publisher Report from BI Server Metadata. I have created .rtf template in Word. The preview of the template is working showing data. But when I connect to BI Publisher and open From BI Server report and click View I get the message: "The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator." And as the error detail: String index out of range: -1
    What could be the reason of that problem? Or where to search for the solution of that problem?
    Any help for newbee will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Adam

    Hi,
    I am having the exact same issue.
    I've created a .rtf template using Oracle BI Publisher Desktop. I insert a very simple table and a very simple Chart (a bar graph) just to test it out. The table and the chart wwere showing correct data in the rtf and the pdf when I preview it on the BI server located on my local machine, and when I click on validate template in word, no errors were found. However when I run the pdf in the client BI Publisher Server, the charts doesn't show up in the pdf output while the other contents (headers, tables) are displayed correctly. If I select the html output in the client BI Publisher server, it gives the same error mention above: The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator." And as the error detail: String index out of range: -1
    What security configurations do I have to check? If anyone can give a more detail explanation on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
