RTMFP standalone - RTMFP with RTMP fallback integration with FMS

Hello,
I have written a current application using stratus (cirrus) (peer to peer webcam connections). I was wondering what is involved technically and how time intensive it is in integrating flash media server into my current application to use RTMP as a fallback to RTMFP?

If you have already done that - please ignore. Do let me know if you have already gone through this link and have set up everything properly and its still not working.
Also have you checked http://cc.rtmfp.net/ - this is RTMFP connectivity checker - try it out - you will know if things are set up properly.

How to work rtmfp with fms 4.0?

I'm working on an application to make a video chat between two people with actionscript 3 and flash media server 4.0. To do this, I followed the tutorial of Tom Krcha to do a P2P video chat with cirrus: http://flashrealtime.com/tuts/p2p-in-flash.html.
My application works fine with cirrus but not with fms:
The broadcasting netstream through a NetConnection in rtmfp works but the receiving netstream(video of the another person) doesn't work.I put a listener on the receiving netstream video(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS) but it returns nothing.However, this code works very well whith cirrus.
Miss I a configuration on the fms server?
I currently use two server side applications to make a video chat: multicast (which was already present on the server) or live (which was also present). Moreover, in Adaptor.xml, rtmfp is enable.

With one to one video chat, using rtmfp with FMS is not advisable as it will use your server bandwidth. RTMFP is useful for multicasting a video. Also, if you are trying to use FMS for one to one video chat, you will have to handle both client side code as well as server side code yourself and the same piece of code will not work which worked with cirrus as with FMS, you will need a server side application in which you need to handle both the published streams. Also, Developer's key is not required for FMS.

RTMFP with Flash Media Server

I'm trying to get the Cirrus sample application (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cirrus/samples/) to work together with the FMS. For my understanding the RTMFP technology is available to the FMS, so it should be no problem to make the example run with a FMS. As I don't have much experience with FMS, I don't know what I am supposed to do, to get it working.
I already managed to get an ID from the FMS for each peer, but it seems that they are not able to connect to each other. Using the Cirrus beta/developer server hosted by Adobe it works without any problem.

Thanks for your interest in RTMFP.
Yes, FMS after 4.0 version, supports RTMFP in its full multicast functionalities. The developer key process is meant only for connecting to Cirrus, and when you want to try out RTMFP on your local servers, you do not need it.
Install FMS, and there is a default application 'multicast' that comes along with the installation.
You can use this application for all your multicast trials.

FMS RTMFP with Amazon WebServices

I managed to run the FMS on an EC2 instance and I am able to use admin console. So I think I can say, that the server is running. Now I want to connect to the multicast application, which is delivered with the FMS as an example, via RTMFP. I can't get it to work... With an FMS 4.5 development server I didn't experience such problems. It seems to be a problem with the AWS. It might be, that I missed something to configure. But what? Does anyone have experiences with FMS and AWS?

Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

Does anyone know as to whats the issue with using -pack + -standalone switches with Weblogic ? Its been mentioned in the documentation that its not advisable to use those in combination when we build and EAR. We have been doing this in our project for atleast a month now and have not come across any issue due to this.
Please share your thoughts.

1. Yes all the dat needs to be copied
2. You can just assign the users in your orginazation structure to the profiles(Master data specialist, steward etc.) in BRF+
3. After copying the data to your standalone ECC 6.0 instance, all the process of data governance happens on your standalone system and once it is done you can replicate the data to your SAP 4.7 system. According to my experience, no functionalities will be missing.

I have installed the SMS Portlet (downloaded from OTN) onto Standalone OC4J with PDK. However, when I try to login, I get a No route to host error. What values should I set proxyHost and proxyPort to run it from my local desktop.

actually the error message doesn't point to the problem because its a generic message. The HTML page message is the one you build and modify when creating the Webstart project in JDeveloper.
The configuration looks okay.

STANDALONE Apps with DPS?

Hi. I am looking to create STANDALONE apps with Indesign and Digital Publishing Suite.
I've tried to do it, but I can only create contents for Adobe Viewer!! I need to make an app "independent from a viewer".
Can DPS do it?
The exemple i've seen is the app "Hangar Soul" for iPad (is a free app you can download), with a top menu, a "page scroll in the downside" and interactive pages (they seems to be made with Digital Publishing Suite!!)

It is not clear if I can personalize the viewer with my icons and a new navigation logic with the Single Edition.
For exemple:
If I have these pages (folio1 folio2 and folio3, each one made by three pages, a b, c)
1a. 2a. 3a.
1b. 2b. 3b.
1c. 2c. 3c.
I need to navigate ever in the A level when I scroll in left or right folio. Not so in Adobe viewer.
Exemple Adobe Viewer: 1a > 2a V 2b<2a
Exemple I want: 1a > 2a V 2b<1a (NOT 2a!)

Versions professional and enterprise made the same things of Single edition, and other features, too? Or only Single edition make apps standalone?

Making P2P Video Chat with FMS

Hi, I'm trying to make a P2P video chat application with Flash Builder 4.5 and Flash Media Server 4.5.
First, I've tried a simple sample application using Cirrus(Stratus). It worked very well!
NetConnection -> NetGroup -> 2 NetStreams -> netstream play and publish -> last, netgroup post
The sample was all OK.
But now, I've changed the server url to my flash media development server.
rtmfp://p2p.rtmfp.net/XXXXXXXXXXXXXX -> rtmfp://my-fms/application
Here is my application trace log about NetStatusEvent:

I think I have a similar problem. I am using FMS 4.0 and I can't receive any NetGroup event except NetGroup.Connect.Success. There is no events as NetGroup.Neighbor.Connect or NetGroup.Posting.Notify. I made a discussion (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4429330#4429330) and one of the Adobe employees wrote that I don't need to write any bootstrapping (any server side code):

Configure VBrick encoder to work with FMS

I'm wondering if anybody knows of a guide or a step by step process for configuring a VBrick HS.264 encoder to send video to my FMS for live broadcast. I'm experiencing issues configuring the Transmitters on the VBrick admin panel and unsure how to have FMS recognize the video stream to publish it.
Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Has anybody used a VBrick encoder with FMS?

I have never used VBrick Encoder but i did some search and came across this page : have a look at it - it might be helpful:

Flash Player 10 with FMS 2 results in connect reject

I have an application that works fine in FP 9 with FMS
1.5/2/3 through IE and Firefox, but when I upgraded to FP10, my
connection is getting rejected. When I run the application locally
(no browser), it works fine in FP10, so there must be a new
security restriction. I cannot get the connection locally (through
a browser) or when I test it on the web (I have the SWF's on one
domain and I have the application on Influxis).
I'd greatly appreciate any help on this!

Through reinstalling FP10, I got it to work on the web, but
it does not work via localhost. It sounds like a policy file issue,
though I don't believe my host changed any policy files in the
brief time I reported it.
Does anyone know why there would be a problem via localhost?

How to round the quantity with FMS or SP for only some items in the composition of Production order (lines) and the bill of materials like a box or a stick that should not be with commas.
Exemple of Production Order

and others will not be rounded
