Rulebase - Multiple User Groups

Hi
I am building a rulebase that will be both staff facing (internal) and customer facing (external). There is a requirement to present different question and commentary depending on the user group that runs the interview.
For example:
When a customer runs the interview, the question text will read "What is your annual income?" and the Help Text will have generic information on how to calculate the annual income.
Where as, when a staff runs the interview (on behalf of the customer), the question text will read "What is the customer's annual income?" and the Help text will have generic information + a hyperlink to an internal help page that has more details on how to calculate the annual income.
So, basically I want to author the rules once - but use different question labels / commentary depending on the user group. How to achieve this?

The simplest way is to create two separate interviews in the same rulebase project. Then you can configure look and feel, screens, labels, commentary and everything else separately for the two different audiences. The benefits of this probably outweigh the small cost savings you'll likely see from reusing screens across the two audiences.
The other option is to get tricky with customizing the behavior of Web Determinations based on the audience - but that will likely get hard to maintain quite quickly - and will make it harder to quickly deploy changes to the rulebase when they are required.

  • Address Book, .Mac syncing, multiple users, groups, oh my!

So, I'm currently syncing my Address Book on my PowerBook to .Mac, and my wife's iMac is synced to that Address Book as well. She's currently been adding groups and contacts, some of which have overlapped with mine. I don't want these new ones.
I'd like to still be able to share my Address Book (I know I can do this somehow). I also have a WebDAV server which I use for iCal, but I don't think the Address Book uses this, and then delete her contacts (I'll have to just pick through carefully) off of my Address Book. I know I could set up a .Mac account for her as well, but this would be the only feature she'd be using, if she even knows that .
What are some steps to accomplish this (I know I can at least disable her syncing)? A great step-by-step would be so appreciated.
    Thanks.

    No one, huh?

  • CC&B User group Security

    Hi,
When a user is attached to multiple User groups (User group 1, User group 2), if User group 1 has access to change premise and User group 2 does not have access to change premise then the User has no access to change Premise. This is the current behavior of CC&B. Anyway to change this ? User group 1 has Change access to Premise application service and User group 2 does not have change access to Premise application service. User is linked to both User group 1 and User group 2
it appears to be only when there is custom security
Requirement is to set up like even if one User group has access then allow the user to make changes in premise. How to accomplish this ? Suggestions please

    Hi
First have you maintained the usergroup authorisations for that Z table? first do that.
Then in the at selection-screen event you have to write the code:
If R1 = 'X'.   " when one of the radiobutton is selected
if R_main = 'X'.    " when pressed the Maintain button
<write a select or other check for User group authrisation for Z table>
    endif.
    endif.
    Reward points if useful

  • [solved] Pulseaudio, multiple users, audio group?

    Hello!
I'm trying to get pulseaudio working for multiple users. According to the pulseaudio documentation, no user should be in the audio group which should theoretically make it work. I think I've also seen that information in a file distributed with the official archlinux package somewhere... But without users in that group, I'm not getting any sound at all.
    $ ls -l /dev/snd
    total 0
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 60 5. Okt 23:13 by-path
    crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 116, 7 5. Okt 23:13 controlC0

That should - according to pusleaudio docu - mean, that HAL and/or polkit will be handling user switching & stuff but it can be overridden by the audio group...? Well it does not seem to be working that way.
So... where do I start? Can't find any relevant information... everything on the subject seems to be either obsolete or just not working...
    Thanks!

I log into a tty and let xfce handle the rest. Which means the first user's X gets started by startxfce4, the second user by xinit + xfce4-session (because I don't know how to make startxfce4 use another display).
I thought those two should handle everything correctly? I took a look at the sources a while back - looked pretty complicated to me: the scripts were checking for the status of needed stuff + trying to launch everything correctly.
But I'll try it manually again next time I get to it to make sure, that ck-launch-stuff is really handled correctly. Thanks for the hint!

  • Adding multiple users into one security group at one shot

    Hi,
Is there any way we can add multiple users into one security group at one shot into PWA.
For example: I want 100 create 100 users in EPM and Providing them with custom define Team defined permissions and can I add Time sheet Manager as well while creating bulk user through resource template in Project server 2010.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
In order to add users in a security group, you can open the group, select all the appropriate resources (pressing CTRL key) and add them to the group. There is no other easy way. Otherwise a powershell script could do the job.
For the timesheet manager, if all the 100 resources have the same timesheet manager, you can go to the resource center, select the resources (sorting by resource ID will give you together the latest resources added), bulk edit the resources and select the
timesheet manager for the selected resources.
    Hope this helps,

  • Add multiple users to AD Group using AddRange

    All,
I am trying to add multiple users to an AD security group using AddRange method but no luck.
Reason why I am using AddRange method is, the memberlist is pretty big (30K users) and Quest or MSFT AD Cmdlets taking plenty of time to add them.
I am following the instruction per http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-in/library/ms180904(v=vs.80).aspx but no luck.
    Code snippet:
    $groupmembers = Get-Content C:\Temp\MemberDN.txt
    $getgroup = [ADSI]"LDAP://CN=MYADGROUP,OU=GROUPS,DC=CONTOSO,DC=COM"
    $getgroup.properties.member.AddRange($groupmembers)
    #$getgroup.properties["member"].AddRange($groupmembers)
    $getgroup.CommitChanges()
    #$getgroup.SetInfo()
I tried using ADSPATH as well but no luck.
Any help or pointers are appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi PSPR,
    I agree with David .
Also I tested that on my server2012r2 , please refer to :
    $user="cn=test1,cn=users,dc=test,dc=com","cn=test2,cn=users,dc=test,dc=com"
    $obj=[adsi]"LDAP://cn=test,cn=users,dc=test,dc=com"
    $obj.member.addrange($user)
    $obj.commitchanges()
    Hope it helps

  • How to add a default user group for multiple document type's?

    Hi,
I am trying to add same default user group for different document types when MA is created. Is there any way to setup using a single "Document Security Template"? Or I need to create different templates for different document types?
    Please confirm.
    Thanks,
    Saloni

    Hi Saloni,
Based on what your specific requirement, it might be easier to do it with scripting.
If you are doing it using Document Security Templates, you would have to create a Document Security Template for each of the 6 MA types and assign the default group. Create another one and leave the Document Type field blank, so it will apply to the other 4 MA types that don't have a default group.

  • Cisco ACS 4.2 one user in multiple local groups

Currently i have group mapping like this
    ACS Groups           Window Groups
        Grp-A-B             Grp-1 and Grp-2
        Grp-A                        Grp-1
        Grp-B                        Grp-2
For example currently one user test1 is part of both groups 1 and 2 in windows and is mapped to Grp-A-B in ACS. Is it possible if i delete the Grp-A-B mapping in ACS and can see the user test1 speratley in both groups ( Grp-A and Grp-B) in ACS?

    Salam Muhammad,
If you have a local user in ACS, that user can not be a member of two groups at the same time.
The same concept applies to the external users. They can not be mapped to two different groups at the same time.
If you remove the Grp-A-B configuration, the user test1 will be mapped to the first group in the list because ACS 4.2 process the goup mapping in order:
    '''snip'''
    Group Mapping Order
ACS always maps users to a single ACS group; yet a user can belong to more than one group set mapping. For example, a user named John could be a member of the group combination Engineering and California, and at the same time be a member of the group combination Engineering and Managers. If ACS group set mappings exist for both these combinations, ACS has to determine to which group John should be assigned.
ACS prevents conflicting group set mappings by assigning a mapping order to the group set mappings. When a user who is authenticated by an external user database is assigned to an ACS group, ACS starts at the top of the list of group mappings for that database. ACS sequentially checks the user group memberships in the external user database against each group mapping in the list. When finding the first group set mapping that matches the external user database group memberships of the user, ACS assigns the user to the ACS group of that group mapping and terminates the mapping process.

  • VCenter Single Sign-On Permissions Assignment for Members of Multiple AD Groups

    Hi all,
I ran across an interesting issue whilst assigning permissions using Active Directory groups within vCenter.
    Environment
1 vCenter Appliance managing 2 Datacenters (1 Datacenter with 2 Clusters, 1 Cluster with 2 Hosts, 1 Cluster with 4 Hosts, 1 Datacenter with 1 Cluster containing 1 host.)
vCenter has an SSO Identity Source configured using Active Directory (Integrated Windows Authentication).
vCenter and all hosts are domain members of child1.parent.com.au
The Active Directory Forest contains a parent domain, let's call it parent.com.au, and two child domains child1.parent.com.au and child2.parent.com.au.
Although the Identity Source was configured for my child domain, using child domain credentials it added the parent domain and subsequently both child domains. Okay, so there are trusts, I'm okay with this. The interesting issue is yet to come.
Two Active Directory Groups were added. Deployment Admins A and Deployment Admins B.
Two vCenter Roles were created with similar names. VM Deployers A and VM Deployers B
Deployment Admins A was assigned the Deployers A role to Cluster A (Cluster, VM Folders, Datastore Folders)
Deployment Admins B was assigned the Deployers B role to Cluster B (Cluster, VM Folders, Datastore Folders)
Note: No objects overlap. All hosts, vms and datastores are isolated to each cluster.
So the next step is assign an child1 AD User to the Deployment Admins A group. As expected the user using credentials child1\user can connect to vCenter via the VI Client and see all the relevant objects. Great!
So now I assign the same child1 AD user to the second AD group Deployment Admins B. Now we wait and nothing happens. The permissions don't change. The user logs out and logs back in using the same credentials and still the permissions don't change.
So I remove the user from both AD groups and get them to log out and in and sure enough they can't.
This time I assign the child1\user account the roles as set out previously. So child1\user account is assigned to both roles in place of each AD Group. The expected behaviour is observed. As I add the second permission set, the objects become visible within the VI client.
Okay so now I remove the explicitly assigned permissions and reassign via the groups and this time I ask the user to log in via the UPN ([email protected]). Whoa! It works.
So it seems that assigning permissions for the same user in multiple AD groups across multiple roles can only be achieved when the user uses a UPN login to the VI Client.
Has anybody else found this to be the case?
If so, were you able to fix it?

    Hello,
I have found this to be the case and think it is more due to SSO than AD. If you look at how you login as the 'administrator' when you first configure SSO it is in effect using UPN. I would raise this as a case to VMware and make sure they are aware of the issue. There are some issues with SSO being worked each day.

  • Sharing iTunes on a single computer with multiple users

    Greetings,
I have been troubleshooting a problem sharing iTunes on a single computer with multiple users that cropped up a few weeks ago and have not had very good luck.
Several months ago I successfully set up my wife’s G4 Laptop (PowerPC processor) so that we could share iTunes on that computer. I had just gotten her an “My Book” external hard drive (Western Digital). The iTunes Library will go on this new unit because the internal drive was running out of room. I successfully set the privileges, moved the entire library onto a “Share” directory and everything worked fine.
In this way, when I got a new CD I could add it to iTunes (under my login, administrator privileges) and she could access it (under her login) to listen to while working on the computer or using her iPod. This arrangement went well for quite awhile.
About a month and a half ago, when I tried to launch iTunes from my login I received this message:
“The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file.”
I think the permissions must have changed when there was an update because my wife is pretty careful about what she does on her computer. Updates were the only thing I could think of that had changed since I had set her computer up. I also noticed that some of the iTunes defaults were different from the last time I had used it to add a CD.
So, I did some reading and went back through the motions of trying to set it up again. I re-formatted the My Book hard drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) added the files back to the external, reset permissions on the external hard drive. (Owners: System, Access: read and write - Group: wheel, Access: read and write – Others: read and write).
When I now launch iTunes under my login I get this message:
“The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items.”
What gives? I am the original owner and have always had top-level privileges.
Can someone point me to any articles or clues as to how I need to set-up iTunes on a single computer to be shared by more than one user? Also, I am considering upgrading to the newer system in a few weeks, so if a solution for OS X 10.5 is available, that would work too.
    Tim

Was your wife logged into the libray at the time you tried to log in? I have had a similar problem and it was because another user was logged into the library when I attempted to. I got the permission denied banner.

  • Setting up multiple users

Does Yosemite offer any new options for setting up multiple users on one computer akin to family sharing with separate ID's for each user?
    Thanks.

Sure, just create user accounts for each user on the Mac. (System Preferences>Users and Groups)

  • HERE'S HOW TO SHARE iCAL w/ MULTIPLE USERS on 1 Mac

Here's how to share iCal calendars among multiple users on a single Mac.
What you need to do is to move the iCal folder to a shared folder that is accessible to all users and then replace the iCal folder in each user's library folder with a "symbolic link' to the shared iCal folder. The symbolic link looks like an "alias", but if you try this using "aliases" to the shared iCal folder it will not work (trust me). You can create symbolic links using the Terminal, but I have no idea how, and the idea of using the Terminal scares me. The easiest way that I know of to create a symbolic link is with a shareware application called Cocktail. It allows you to do a number of different things including System Maintenance, Network Optimization, etc. It took me a while to remember how to do this; I originally found the information in the Discussions when iCal was first released, but apparently none of those original postings are listed in the forums anymore.
Here's how to do it (you must have Administrator privileges):
First locate your iCal folder (your user name > Library > Application Support > iCal) and make a copy of it (Finder > File > Duplicate). Drag the copy to your Desktop until you're sure iCal is being shared between users.
Next move the original iCal folder into a Shared folder in the Users folder (Hard Disk > Users > Shared > iCal). To make sure all users can access the information, select the Shared folder, choose File > Get Info, click the little Lock icon, then under "Ownership & Permissions -> Details" make sure that the "Owner" is "System", "Group" is "Wheel" and "Access" for Owner, Group and Others is "Read & Write". Do the same with the iCal folder within the Shared folder, but this time, under "Ownership & Permissions -> Details" make sure that the "Owner" is "your user name", "Group" is "Staff" and "Access" for Owner, Group and Others is "Read & Write" and click the "Apply to Enclosed Items" button. I basing this information on what the Ownership & Permissions are for each of the folders in my system.
Open Cocktail (I'm using version 3.6.5). Once the app is open (you must enter an administrator's user name and password) click on the "Files" button, then click on the "Links" button. Where it says "Create Symbolic Link" click on the "Choose" button. Navigate to the iCal folder (Hard Disk > Users > Shared > iCal) and click "Choose" again. In the "Save As" box that appears enter "iCal", then navigate to the Application Support folder in your Home folder (your user name > Library > Application Support) and click "Save". Quit Cocktail and open iCal. You should see all of your calendars as you did before.
Log in under each additional User, move that User's iCal folder (user name > Library > Application Support > iCal) onto the Desktop, then create another Symbolic Link to replace it, using Cocktail as described above. In each case you should see the same calendar information as when you were logged in under your user name. As a test, add a New Event or To Do in iCal under one user, log out and back in under another user and you should see the changes when you open iCal.
Once everything appears to be working, you can delete the iCal folders from each User's Desktop.
As an additional maintenance measure, use Disk Utility to repair Disk Permissions.
Unfortunately, if each User has his/her own calendars in iCal they will not be in the shared calendars. Only the calendars in the first iCal folder used to set up the shared folder will be available and I don't know of any way to merge or combine the other user's calendars into one.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Unfortunately, if each User has his/her own calendars in iCal they will not be in the shared calendars. Only the calendars in the first iCal folder used to set up the shared folder will be available and I don't know of any way to merge or combine the other user's calendars into one.
If every user first exports their calendars (with unique names) and then the "First" user imports them, before all the other set up, everyone's calendar will be there.
Also, iCalShare lets you publish and subscribe on a computer or across a local network, without having to let everyone see and edit all your calendars.
