macroses are running in opened Word document process memory. In Sharepoint code is running in IIS process, so you probably have to rethink your requirements and see how you may do the same actions not by macroses, but e.g. by event receivers.

I am a teacher and want to switch from using microsoft office on my macbook pro to using pages/number/keynote. Create an AppleID under different email addresses for each family member at http://appleid.apple.com
If they don't already have their own email address just setup a free one with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or whoever you prefer.
Then on each device sign into iMessage with the users own AppleID in:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Tap AppleID at top > Sign Out, then sign back in again with the correct AppleID.

I don't think any conversions are needed, just get yourself an external USB 3.5" floppy drive and drag the documents onto your iMac's HD. You should be able to locate one on Ebay or maybe even Amazon. To open them you will need something that reads .doc files like Pages, MS Word for Mac etc..

Need to modify header & footer of all Word documents in a SharePoint library

We have lots of Word documents in a library where we need to adjust all of the documents' header region's distance from top of page. (A standard setting under the Header & Footer tab in Word). Since we wouldn't want to do this manually for all these
docs, I am looking for a solution to update these by running a script or something. Any way of doing this by Powershell, or other suggestions?

I am having trouble getting the script to do it's thing. I seem to have gotten it to run through the right document library, but it fails right at the start. Seems to me that it can't get to load the template file to get the header of the template. Can you
see what the problem is from the log? I included the initial errors from start to opening the first file in the library.

How do I solve the problem?

Hi,
For an Update termination you need to go into the System Log to check the real cause of the termination.
My guess is that the document number has already been used. It has happened to me and I found no cause for that.
I did the following then:
I checked the highest used document number in that number range and corrected the from number of the number range.
Then I went into the TABA table and corrected the entries there that they corresponded to the number range.
Then I did a manual reconcilliation between AA and GL. In my case they matched, If they don't you would need to post manually to the GL to get them to match.
Then I ran recalculation of asset values. and finally an unplanned depreciation run.
For me it solved the problem.

Run applescript on all open documents

hi all,
I have an applescript that was created to run on the active document. I dont have any applescript abilites but would like to change it to run on all open documents. the script removes all unused master pages and i would like it to run on all opened docs. what do i need to change to make it work?
here is the script....

Rather than using the numeric index, you can also leave that to AppleScript.

All Word documents are transformed into textedit format when mailed

The problem is quite irritating as customers on PCs have problems opening the documents I send to them.
This problems exist both Mountain Lion and Lion OS. I would be really grateful, if someone could help med with this issue.

It showed that the default solution seemed for the system to open a file in TextEdit. I chose Word instead and have now tried to send back and forth between different servers. And right doc extentions now seem to be just right.
I am very grateful for your help. I would wish that there was somewehere in the system, where I could check that documents should open in the format that they are sent.

Can you point me to the setting that reopens all word documents on startup after the laptop shuts down due to loss of power? I'm a mac book pro user. Many thanks!

The option is in System Perferences on the General section (first Icone in Sys Perf) down near the bottom.
It's called "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps".
But that may not be the setting your are looking for.
There is also a setting on the Shut Down and Restart windows that says "Reopen windows when logging back in".
But is you computer shutting OFF, "I Mean Really Shutting OFF", or just going into Sleep mode.
If it is really turning complete off then that setting is not saved. For that to work the computer has to be shut down or re-started properly allowing the OS to save that App state.

Word opening in Client Application in SharePoint document library when feature is not activated in manage features in site collection

Hello, I wish for all Word documents to open in the browser for my SharePoint document library on my team site.
The feature 'open in client application' is not activated in Features for the site collection and the setting in the document library is set on 'Use the server default (open in the browser)
When I select File > new> from the ribbon in the document library - it still opens Word in the client application?
Any ideas on this?
Is there a general Office 365 setting over riding SharePoint somewhere?

Okie don't open up a ticket. Can you please open internet explorer...See if its the latest version. Once you have done that can you login to the SharePoint site. Then go to the internet wheel option in top right corner > select manage add on >
Click on toolbars and extensions on left > then click on SharePoint open documents in client and disable it. Close the browser completely now for the changes to take effect. Open internet explorer once again and then try to go to site collection click on
file and create new. The word will open up in browser now. This has to be done on each and every machine in your firm so that users will be able to open up only in browser. Out of the box there is only one way is to customize the ribbon and remove the new
option from there or creating an all together new ribbon for your SharePoint from visual studio.

I teach online, and my students post Word files to a Gradebook where I can click on the link and download their papers. Recently, because I got tired of having to tell Firefox what to do, I checked the box that tells it to open all Word documents with Word automatically. Now, it downloads the files, but they don't open in Word anymore, so I have to go to Downloads and open them manually. I don't know why this changed--I thought I was saving myself time. Going to Applications doesn't work--it says, when I type in Word documents (that doesn't appear in the list unless I type it), that I've chosen "Always ask." But when I click on the link, I don't get that old dialog box anymore! Help!

Microsoft Word - Times New Roman will not print from my iMac. People send me Word documents, I must select all and choose another font. How can I fix this?

When anyone sends me a Word document via email as an attachment and I attempt to print it out, my printer always spits out a blank page. All Word documents seem to arrive using Times New Roman font. I must then return to the document, select all, reassign a different font, and it then prints okay. How can I fix this? It appears that Times New Roman font is part of my Font Book, and each version of the font (Italic, etc.) appears there in duplicate.

Open the Font Book again, select the Times New Roman font set.
You'll see the duplicate warning. Select the fonts and go up to the EDIT menu,
and go down to RESOLVE DUPLICATES.
You might check for other duplicates while you're there, and resolve them.
RESTART your Mac to have the changes take effect.
Then try your docs again.

Covert excel to ipad app and run macros and links to word

I am looking for an app that will convert the excel and word files I have. The excel version will need to run macros. The word version will need to be able to access links from excel.

Where did this Word document come from? Was it originally sent to you from another Windows user? If so, it could have been infected with something by that Windows user.
Alternately, it's remotely possible (depending on your version of Word) that you could have been infected with a Word macro "virus." This would run only within Microsoft Office and embed itself into documents you create. If you're seeing this problem with all Word documents you create, this is probably the cause. When I open documents with Word 2010 they appear in some odd script of letters, numbers and symbols.

Does this issue happen on all Word documents or just some of them? If just some, where do you get these documents?
This issue may occur if Word haven't accurately detected the encoding standard of text in the file.
To fix the issue, we can specify the encoding standard to use to display (decode) the text:
1. Click the File tab > Options > Advanced.
2. Scroll to the General section, and then select the
Confirm file format conversion on open check box.
3. Close and then reopen the file.
4. In the Convert File dialog box, select
Encoded Text.
5. In the File Conversion dialog box, select
Other encoding, and then select the encoding standard that you want from the list. You may need to look up the encoding standards that are available in Word in the following article. See the "Look up encoding standards that
