Run WSDP anywhere (Tomcat, JBoss...)

Hi @ll,
Sun does not clearly descibe how to run resp. deploy web services
developed with the WSDP on any app servers. They provide a "Tomcat
WSDP" version for downloading, but this is not really what I want!
I would like to deploy my new web services into an exisitng already
running app server. Why should I install a new one?
Okay, I succeed by deploying and running my web service to Tomcat
5.5.9. To run it without any exception you have to add plenty of JARs
of the WSDP that are located in the different <sub-directories>/lib

What is the different between the original Tomcat 5.0.29 and the
Sun-patched Tomcat-wsdp 5.0.29?
[2]
I was wondering if there are defined deployment processes for the
WSDP for standalone application servers?

Does anybody know about WSDP deploying problems for JBoss?

I cant find any info on how to run WSDP on version of Tomcat other than Sun's custom container.
I would like to use Apache's Tomcat version 5.5.15 but it is not being accepted as a valid web container duringWSDP installation.

if more Number of users increases then (Active Sessions and Active Requests) the Application server has to restart once in peak time its the case when am in JBoss Tomcat Env. but Now am with ORACLE 10g so now i have to restart the instance 7 or 10 times to move my application correclty otherwise its not running its hanged

before i had use Tomcat along to develop my

get into a new project...and i heard about JBoss...
my questions are:
- is JBoss good? Good for what?
You realize, of course, that JBoss and Tomcat are two different animals. JBoss is a Java EE app server, and Tomcat is a servlet/JSP engine. JBoss has a servlet/JSP engine, just like all Java EE app servers do. It's likely to USE Tomcat.
The biggest thing that JBoss gives you in addition to servlets and JSPs is EJBs. Do you know what those are? Is that why you're interested in JBoss?
What are you planning to do with EJBs?
How easy is it to setup as compared to Tomcat standalone?It's harder, because there are potentially more moving pieces.

can directly use Apache as the web server without
much extra setup?You don't need an Apache web server to use Tomcat or JBoss. Both have HTTP servers built in.

Problem with deployment to Tomcat &JBoss

that is not tested so probably you will have problem using tomcat or jboss.
check tested configurations document for 8.2 eppm: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25030_01/English/Tested_Configurations/eppm_8_2_tested_configs.xls app server sheet.
Weblogic 10.3.5 and WebShpere 7.0 Fix Pack 19 are recommended for 8.2

At your SBTest1Servlet.java:96, you must have a call
new InitialContext(); // no parameter
It only works if tomcat is running with jboss. Also this call is for JNDI, if your jboss is not running, who is your JNDI server??? Anyway, assuming you have jboss running on "anotherHost" as JNDI server, the use the following code. If your JNDI server is not jboss, the property values are diff depending on that server.

Note: When I configure my application on the Tomcat 5.5 and java 1.5 then it runs fine. But the problem arises when I compile my code on the java 1.4 and run on the Tomcat 5.0

Hi ! I have a similar problem, well, it's along the same line ...
I'm using NetBeans 4.1, and i've coded a servlet. Using NetBeans to launch my servlet (with the bundled Tomcat 5.5.7) works fine, however i need to deploy my application unto a Tomcat 5.5.9 server.
Thus, i copied the WAR file generated by NetBeans into the Tomcat 5.5.9 webapps directory, and Tomcat expands it.
Problem is when i run my JSP pages with the form tags, they do not work on the Tomcat 5.5.9 environment. Anyone knows why?
(These work on the NetBeans Tomcat bundle 5.5.7)

In order to complile the servlet you need to tell java where to find the servlet libary (as stated above by setting the class path). or (much easier IMO)
copy the servlet-api.jar to
JavaInstallDirectory\jre\lib\ext

PHP odbc_connect on a running SQL Anywhere 16 server

Hello,
please help with the following php odbc_connect problem:
On my local machine (win 7, 64 bits) is a running SQL Anywhere 16 database. Started with
dbeng16.exe -c 8m -n xx_test "G:\DEMOS\xx\DB16\test.db"
In the ODBC manager then created a ODBC connection (xxdsn).
But the connection from PHP 5.3.8 fails:
$verbindung = odbc_connect('xxdsn', 'dba', 'sql');
It shows
Warning: odbc_connect() [function.odbc-connect]: SQL error: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Datenbankserver nicht gefunden, SQL state 08001 in SQLConnect in verbindung.php on line 4
The database is definitively runnig. Tested by opening an odbc connection from isql.
When I create an odbc connection on a database file, I can make an php odbc_connect.
This problem is only on the Win 7 machine and also with SQL Anywhere 12.
When I try the same on a (32 bits) XP machine it runs fine.
Please help, to find my mistake.

Make sure the class is in classpath or in WEB-INF/classes folder and make an entry for servlet tag in web.xml in WEB-INF folder.

After starting the tomcat and running the program html file is getting exceuted but when i click on the submit button this error is prompted
