Running an Oracle Enterprise Manager job in Oracle SQL Developer

Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0 - Production
Is it possible to run an Oracle Enterprise Manager job in Oracle SQL Developer? I have looked through the Oracle help documents for 9i and it does not seem to cover this topic.

  • Enterprise Manager Job for Scripting DataPump Export for Oracle Database Running On MS Windows Server 2008

    Greetings,
I would like an example of an Enterprise Manager Job that uses an OS Script for MS Windows that would effectively run a datapump export of my Oracle 11g database (11.2.0.3) running on a Windows 2008 server.  My OEM OMS is running on a Linux server with an Oracle 12c repository.  I'd like to be able to set environment variables for date and time, my export file name (that includes SID, and export date and time, job name, and other information pertinent to the datapump export.  Thus far, I have been unsuccessful with using the % delimiter around my variables.  Also, I have put the "cmd/c" as the "Interpreter" but I am not getting anywhere in a hurry :-(
    Thanks  Million!!!

    1. Try to reach server with IP )(bypath name resolution)
    2. Disabling IPv6 is not good idea
    3. What is server operating system and what is workstation operating system?
    4. Is this new or persistent problkem?
    5. If server and workstation has different SMB version, set higher to lower one (see Petri web for procedure)
    6. Uninstall AV with removal tool and test it without AV
    7. Use network monitor to diagnose network traffic.

  • How to check the datfiles from oracle SQL Developer(enterprise Manager)

    hi,
Iam using Oracle SQL Developer as enterprise manager in my local pc.I want to check the size of datafiles using this enterprise manager.could u pls help me out..
    Thanks in advance ,
    R.Ratheesh

    What?
Sql developer is not enterprise manager.
Size of datafiles? Read the documention, and read the concepts and administration manuals for your release.
I am not going to provide links, because you have not given your database version number and secondly if you found this forum you can find the docs.
    But I will give you a clue....DBA_DATA_FILES...

  • How to see job section in "Oracle SQL Developer"

    Hi,
I am using oracle SQL developer to connect to oracle instance unlike procedure, tables, views i am not able to see job section (we have can see in toad as job section) please help me to get locate the same.

There's no support for jobs yet. Vote on the existing feature requests at the SQL Developer Exchange if you want to add weight for future implementation.
If you have trouble handling them manually, you can always ask help on the SQL And PL/SQL forum...
    Thanks,
    K.

BTW, there are some job reports (Reports - All Reports - Data Dictionary Reports - Jobs), but those will list only DBMS_JOB stuff, not the DBMS_SCHEDULER ones.
You can also create your own reports and/or User Defined Extensions to add a Jobs node inside the connection navigator, but that's for more advanced users...

  • Running Stacked Queries in Oracle SQL Developer

Is it possible to run stacked queries in Oracle SQL Developer???
    Something like this...
    SELECT *
    FROM TABLE_1
    SELECT *
    FROM TABLE_2
    SELECT *
    FROM TABLE_3
And give my 3 different result sets in my Query Result window
I tried "BEGIN" and "END" and Oracle SQL Developer did not seem to like it.
Can someone let me know if this is possible and what the syntax might be???
Thanks in advance for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Wrong forum!
Please post this in the sql developer forum.
    SQL Developer
You can run multiple queries exactly the way you posted them but you need to use F5 - the run script toolbar button.

  • Can i run all the SQL And PL/SQL in Oracle SQL Developer?

    hi all
I have heard that Oracle Sql Developer is a free editor for Oracle DB from Oracle.
Is it possible to run all the the procedres and functions in that editor
is there any limitation for that ,can i run all the things that we can run on the SQL Plus
if anybody knows please let me know
    thanks & regards

    Interesting way of putting it.
When it comes to SQL and PL/SQL, SQLPlus and SQL Developer do not really 'run' very much.
Most of the time, these things are just shells that pass the SQL and PL/SQL requests to the appropriate engine (database) which will run the command.
    The challenges are:
    - will the shell interpret the request as something to pass to an engine?
    - will the shell display the response from the engine appropriately?
For answers to those questions, TongucY provided approriate links.

  • Run sp from Oracle SQL Developer

    Hi,
Anbody can help me to find why I cant' see output after running my simple sp lke below. When I ran create View from sql it's fine, I see <Statetement Output> window displayed, and see new View.
Not the case when I do sp, I can compile it and get "compiled" status on Messages pane, not sure is't compiled sucessfully or not. But then pressing RUN green arrow, or right click - RUN nothing happenes, no new view, no any output.
I defenetely has all rights to run sp as per our admin.

I see that you running it all from command line, right ?
It's still different on my SQL Developer session, I don't have anything on messages pane and again I don't see output i.e. View created.
Can anybody share opinions how to run this sp from Oracle SQL Developer? I expect to see newly created V2c View in my object list upon execution.

  • Oracle SQL Developer Screen hangs up

I am facing an unusual problem in Oracle SQL Developer. When I try to compile a store procedure it hangs up the Oracle SQL Developer Screen and I can't do any activity, except to kill the SQL developer instance and start again.
But when i start he instance and try to compile it, i again get the same error.
Anybody faced such problem? I am new to oracle.
For one or two instance I waited for 5 to 10 min and got this error
ORA-04021 timeout occurred while waiting to lock object
But I am the only person working on this instance of Oracle

That would indicate some other session is currently running the proc. Check out Tools - Monitor Sessions, or the Enterprise Manager. If necessary, you can kill the locking session from both.
    Hope that helps,
    K.

  • Oracle SQL Developer freezes and locks up computer randomly

I attempted to find a solution to this before posting. I looked through the first 40 pages of this forum and on Google, through the Developer documentation, etc. with no luck.
The problem: while using Oracle SQL Developer, the computer randomly freezes. Things work, but it hangs too often and for too long to use. This is random - it can happen every 10 seconds or every 2 minutes. The mouse will lock up, and the keyboard buffer will get all messed up. For instance, if it happens to freeze while I'm hitting "backspace", it will delete many lines of text (I've lost a bit of work because of this in the past). The freezing will last about 2 to 20 seconds, and the only way out of it is to ctrl+alt+delete and kill SQL Developer.
If SQL Developer is running, and I'm in a different window - it will freeze the other windows as well. Again, it's impossible to use unfortunately. My coworker doesn't have the same problem, and he's connecting to the same database with the same version using Windows Vista. It must be something on this computer. I reformatted about 1 month ago, so it's a pretty fresh install and I haven't installed much of anything yet.
    I'm using Windows Vista Enterprise 32-bit w/SP1.
This was occurring with older versions of SQL Developer (1.2). I'm using the newest install that included the Java JDK. I've completely removed Java, my Oracle installs, and a host of other attempts to fix this, and nothing changes. I've tried running the .exe in the bin directory as administrator as well.
    Currently using Oracle Developer 1.5.1.54.40.
    Any ideas?

I tried dumping the contents, but the java dump wasn't showing anything at all, and it would never freeze while I had the console window in focus, so it wasn't very helpful unfortunately.
I fixed this issue by uninstalling the Java runtime on this machine and installing the Java JDK 6 Update 7 from java.sun.com/javase/downloads . I then downloaded the SQL Developer 1.5.1 version without the Java runtime included, and pointed it to the Update 7 .exe file upon first load.
I was using JDK 6 Update 6 previously, and it must have been behind the errors. Note that the Update 7 has to be downloaded from that website as it's a new version that hasn't been posted on the regular java.com site yet.

EdStevens, thanks for your quick answer, sorry for my explain was doesn't clear, i open oracle sql developer and choose new connection i set connection name system_orcl username:system password:*i set my password that i create when i setup database*
-Now the link that i got after finish install database is https://Ahmed-HP:1158/em so i have question about this point Hostname and port if the link to access database is this https://Ahmed-HP:1158/em so this mean i typing at Hostname:localhost and port:1158 ?
because the message when i test connection always is filed and I'm sure i typing username and password and SID:orcl as i set when install database.port 1158 is what the dbcontrol (Oracle Enterprise Manager) is listening on. OEM is NOT the database. As far as the database is concerned, OEM is "just another client".
Actually, the database doesn't listen for requests on any port. There is another process, the "listener" that listens for requests to connect to the database. Typically, it listens on port 1521. You should have a tnsnames.ora file set up to resolve a connection request to the correct host. You can read more on this at http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/02/09/sqlnet_overview/

  • Oracle SQL Developer and Errors (Line Number Incorrect)

First, I wanted to state that Oracle SQL Developer 2 is a standout job.
I wanted to report, though, that when Oracle SQL Developer 2 can't compile a block of code or a simple SQL statement has invalid syntax, it does not have an option to accurately go to the line of code in question. GOING TO the erroneous line of code doesn't need to be a feature, but often times the line no. REPORTED by Oracle SQL Developer is incorrect by 50+ lines.
Is this something I could fix on my end? I have five other developers griping about this.
    Thank you!

I don't know if this is the situation you are talking about, but line numbers for errors in SQL in a SQL Worksheet are not line numbers within the statement but rather line numbers in the worksheet. For example, with the following SQL in the worksheet:
    select * from dual;
    select * from dual;
    select * from dual;
select from dual;Running the "select from dual;" statement (as either statement based on cursor position, selected statement or as script), the error is reported on Line 4, Column 7. As I show line numbers (Tools | Preferences | Code Editor | Line Gutter | Show Line Numbers), this makes sense. Without line numbers showing or having the option to go to the error and with more realistic examples with SQL statements scrolling off the page, I can see that the line number in the errors wouldn't be helpful.
I think -K- is talking about the PL/SQL code editors not reporting the correct line number based on the error line not counting the "create or replace" line at the start of a package (and more for triggers).

  • Oracle sql developer Data Modeler -er diagram

    Hi
I tried to Oracle sql developer data modeler for show relational ER diagrams.
Tables are came on data modeler but not shown relations between tables.
    like this
How can show relations between tables?
    http://i54.tinypic.com/30wxq1e.jpg

SDDM cannot create an ER diagram with only simple table definitions. It requires that primary keys (PKs) and foreign keys (FKs) be defined first. My guess is you imported these table designs from an existing database. If so, that database does not contain those constraints. (I have found this to be an issue in many organizations over the last 20 years - including my current job). You will have to determine:
    1. The PKs for each table (either via data profiling or talk to someone who "knows" what they are supposed to be, or by reading application logic/code used to manage the tables).
    2. The FKs between the tables. You may be able to guess some of that based on column names, otherwise you will have to figure them out (same as above)
Then you can update the model in SDDM with the PK definiions (manually). You must do that first before you draw in the FKs between the tables. Now if you want a true Entity Relationship model you need create a logical model from this relational model. The SDDM utility for that will convert the tables to entities and the FKs to relationships.
I have the basic steps with screen shots outlined in a presentation I gave in Denver in late 2009. It was an earlier version of SDDM but the basics are the same. You can find the presentation is here: http://www.rmoug.org/QEW2009/SQL%20Developer%20Data%20Modeler%20(2).pdf. Start at about slide 12.
