Running Commands in JInternalFrame from DesktopPane

I have a desktop Pane and within it, I am successfuly able to run various JInternal Frames.
The DesktopPane has its own menu bar and the JInternal Frame has it's own Menu Bar. This has a very bad look on the overall appearance of the package.
I want to combine both of these menu bars so that it appears on the DesktopPane.
But I am odds at figuring out how to run a particular command from the menu bar of the desktop pane (like inserting an image inside the text pane in the Internal Frame)
Any suggestions on where I should start?

hello,
just as poop said, create an object of the active frame by
JInternalFrame frame = desktopPane.getSelectedFrame();//create an object of the active frameonce u have the object u can access its variables and methods as long as they are not protected (encapsulated). use the dot notation to access the variables or methods, i.e. frame.someVariable; or frame.someFunction();
the other way (which is not so efficient) is by creating an interface file, store all variables used in the application there and implement the interface in all files, that way u can access the variables as well as methods but just as i said this method is not so efficient, it can work as a workaround.
hope makes sense.

  • Setting user permissions when running commands

    Here's a doosey,
    Looking to implement a system which will run "commands" being recieved from the network from a bunch of different users. I want the users to have different permissions depending on their username. I'm thinking the backing store as being an LDAP database. (easy update over the network, no using the policy editor, etc).
    Anyone got any advice, experience, existing products which do this? I"m looking at java.security.Profile and java.security.AccessController, java.security.ProtectionDomain and rolling my eyes. Kinda difficult.
    Am I barking up the wrong/right tree?
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    Keith

    I think I understand what you're saying, however i'm using the LDAP database to store the user's permissions (exactly like a policy file). So I"m not using LDAP to handle the authentication, just the data.
    It's the process of what you call "assigning the secuirty level" that I wanted to do...
    I think I've found what I'm looking for - JAAS. First I implent a java.security.Policy (in particular the getPermissions(ProtectionDomain domain) method). Then create my own java.security.Principal (containing the username) and associate that with a java.security.auth.Subject then use the Subject.doAs method.
    IN the command code then I do a AccessController.checkPermission(Permission ) method which will throw an exception if the permission is not found.
    I think this is it anyway.

  • Error while running the Discoverer report from the command line.

    Hi All,
    I've to run a discoverer report from command line and export the results in xls/html on to my local machine. This report I've to run it as batch and scheduled it.
    I have a parameterized worksheet and this has to be run from command line specifying the parameter value I wanted to run the report for. I do not get any results. Here is the command line I am using.
    dis51usr /connect user/password@database /opendb "TIMS-PCJ status Report" /sheet "TIMS observation status report (based on performed date)" /parameter "Test Number" '40351' /parameter "From Date" '05-MAY-2008' /parameter "To Date" '06-MAY-2008' /export HTML "C:\DISCOVERER_REPORT_SCHEDULING\DIS_OUTPUT\PCJStOutputinHTML123"
    I even added the TO_DATE conversion for the parameters and also gave the format of the date as 'DD_MON_YYYY'.
    Discoverer Desktop opened up, logged in and gets terminated saying 'Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
    Please anyone reply me.
    Regards & Thanks,
    P. Gayathri Devi

    Hi Gayathri,
    Try changing your parameter names to be a single word. (Change "Test Number" to Test_Number).
    Does the report run fine when run through Desktop for the same parameter values? Which version of Discoverer are you using?
    Thanks.

  • How to run a 10g report from command line ?

    Good Afternoon,
    Please advise if there is a way to run a 10g report from command line.
    We use 6i right now and our job scheduler runs reports using "D:\ORADEV6I\BIN\RWRUN60.EXE ..." executable in batch mode on a separate server. We plan to migrate to 10g Database, Forms, Reports. Is there a way to keep this functionality and create a "command" to address an report server and run a report?
    Thank you,
    Dmitri

    Steps to take.
    (1.) In command prompt type RWSERVER SERVER=repserver1 to star the rep server.
    (2.) If you get "Javaw.exe The procedure entry point psoasyn could not be located in the dynamic link library orapls10.dll." error do one of the following
            (a.) Type the full name for the server. D:\OracleDevR2\bin\rwserver SERVER=repserver1
                   or, if it does not work
            (b.) Add D:\OracleDevR2\bin to the system env. variable PATH
    (3.) Start OC4j
    (4.) Now you can access the jobs using URL like:
        http://192.161.11.143:8890/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=repserver1
          where 192.161.11.143 is your machine's IP address.

    Hi,
    Are you able to start the Standalone Agent(KANBAN) and test it in the Topology?
    Check the value of the ODI_MASTER_URL variable in odiparams file(at the path <ODI_HOME>\oracledi\agent\bin) of the agent.
    Specify the full the JDBC URL properly not like localhost(until the DB is on same machine as your ODI).

  • How to run executable Java app from command line: No Main( ) method

    This is the opposite question from what most users ask. I have the Java source code and a running Java executable version of the program in a windows environment. I don't want to run it in the normal way by double-clicking on it or using the executable. I need to be able to run the same application from the command line. If I can do this, I can then compile and run the code on my Mac, too, which is what I am ultimately trying to accomplish.
    Normally, this would be easy. I would look for a Main method, normally public static void main (String[] args ) or some variation. I cannot find a main() anything, anywhere when searching the files. There must be some windows executable that links to the Java classes. It's very clever, no doubt, but that's not helping me.
    I am trying to run what I can determine as the Main class, with a standard command line call, but that is not working either.
    It is a Java graphics program, so mostly Swing container stuff.
    I am not finding a manifest.txt file, telling me where a main method is, nor anything about the Main Class. There is no readme file for the program.
    Any insight that would point me in the right direction? What should I be looking for?
    Thanks in advance, Bloozman

    It's possible there's a clever Windows executable that runs the class. But if it's a plain old Java class then there's a good chance there's a constructor. Look for that; it's possible you may be able to start by writing another Java class that creates an instance of your mystery class.
    When you have that done, try running it. It's possible that just creating an instance might be sufficient to run it. Swing programs are sometimes written like that. If not, then start looking for methods with names like "run" or "go" or "start" that your little controller program can call.

  • Use SMA to run commands inside VM created from WAP

    Hello,
    I didnt find any SMA specific forum, so I post here.
    Im new to SMA and have a question that I cant find the answer to.
    We are about to deploy a new Hyper-V/SC/WAP enviroment.
    We use virtual networks and I have problem to connect and execute powershell on the virtual machines.
    I want to do some cutomizations on the VM after they are deployed (Windows Server 2012R2) from a Gallery item in WAP.
    In VM Clouds in Service Management Portal I have activated an Automation with Object = MicrosoftCompute VMRole and Action = Create.
    In my Runbook I check the status on the creation of the VM and when the status is complete I want to execute some powershell on the new server.
    So far so good, but here is my problem, I cant connect to the new VM.
    I have tried:
    $ComputerName = $ResourceObject.ComputerName
    InlineScript {
    Get-Service | Out-File “c:\test.txt”
    } -PSComputerName $ComputerName
    I have tired to add -PSCredential after -PSComputername aswell.
    The Runbook will enter a Suspended state with the following exception:
    Connecting to remote server Fredrik-Test failed with the following error message : WinRM cannot process the request. The following error occured while using Kerberos authentication: Cannot find the computer Fredrik-Test.
    It looks like SMA have no clue how to access the new VM.
    I went to the VMM server and ran the following script:
    $adminpasswd = ConvertTo-SecureString “xxxxx” -AsPlainText -Force
    $adminCredentials = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential (“administrator”, $adminpasswd)
    $VM = Get-SCVirtualMachine | Where-Object {$_.Name -eq ‘Computer013′}
    Invoke-Command -Computername $VM.ComputerName -ScriptBlock {Get-Service | Out-File “c:\test.txt”} -credential $adminCredentials
    And there I got same error:
    [Computer013] Connecting to remote server Computer013 failed with the following error message : The WinRM client cannot process the request because the server name canno
    t be resolved. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.
    + CategoryInfo          : OpenError: (Computer013:String) [], PSRemotingTransportException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ComputerNotFound,PSSessionStateBroken
    How do I run commands inside the VM that is created from WAP in a Tenant cloud and use virtual network ?
    Regards
    Fredrik Ljus

    I get same error.
    Because I use Network Virtualization it looks like SMA or VMM cant find the VM.
    But how does it work if you for example make a gallery item that will install SQL.
    In that case the server will be installed from the original image with only the OS and then the SQL server will be installed after.
    How does the VMM/SPF communicate with the VM to install the SQL server? Bacause when installing the SQL server it mounts a VHD with the media and trigger the install localy on the VM.
    So, somehow it must be possible to communicate with the VM without using NAT and go through the Gateway server?

  • URGENT: How to run a Java program from a different directory?

    Hi.
    How do I run a Java program from a directory that the file is not located in? So lets say im in c:\Java. But the file is in c:\Java\abc\efg\.
    What would be the command to run the Java file from c:\Java.
    I can't remember it and I need it asap.
    Cheers.

    If the class you are trying to run is MyApp.class, try
    c:\Java\>java -cp abc\efg MyAppThe actual classpath you specify will depend on whether or not MyApp.class is in a package (I've assumed it isn't) and whether or not any 3rd party jars are involbed (I've assumed not).
    Edited by: pbrockway2 on Apr 1, 2008 6:42 PM
    The command arguments read as "Run the MyApp class using as a classpath abc\efg relative to here (c:\Java)".

  • How I run a shell script from the scheduler on 10.2.0.2.0 ?

    Hello Oracle People,
    I'd like to run a shell script from the Scheduler in my 10g database.
    Right now it is a simple shell script.
    Eventually it will wrap RMAN commands to back up my DB.
    I wrote a simple pl/sql script to create a job:
    -- cr_job10.sql
    BEGIN
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.CREATE_JOB (
    job_name => 'my_backup_job',
    job_type => 'EXECUTABLE',
    job_action => '/h/oracle/scripts/tst.sh',
    start_date => '06-SEP-07 5.33.00PM US/Pacific',
    repeat_interval => 'FREQ=DAILY',
    end_date => '08-SEP-07 4.00.00PM US/Pacific',
    enabled => TRUE,
    comments => 'My Backup Job');
    END;
    I see no errors when I run the above procedure.
    I checked DBA_SCHEDULER_JOBS and the job is in there.
    The scheduler, though, errors out with an error which I see in a trace file:

    There, I see some evidence that I need to configure something inside
    of Oracle to run shell scripts from the scheduler, but possibly just
    for machines running windows. I'm running Solaris.
    Do any of you know what I need to configure inside of Oracle to
    run shell scripts from the scheduler?
    -Owen

    Hello people,
    I should have added this bit of information:
    "The script runs fine from oracle's crontab."
    "The script runs fine from a shell owned by oracle."
    I'm getting responses telling me to check my env variables and permissions
    which would be helpful to a UNIX novice.
    I have a feeling that no one is using the scheduler to run RMAN scripts.
    Tim Hall suggested I take a close look at these files:
    $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/externaljob.ora
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/extJob
    Currently I'm setup like this:

    I am focused on this error:
    ORA-27369: job of type EXECUTABLE failed with exit code: 274662
    And I am focused on this exit code: 274662
    What does 274662 mean?
    If the Scheduler gives me an error like "274662" rather than some English,
    it's obvious to me the Scheduler is a POS and I should not use it.
    And of course,
    If I cannot run RMAN from Oracle Scheduler, I'll use cron.

  • Run a batch file from demantra workflow

    I am trying to run a batch file from demantra's workflow by creating an executable step.
    I am getting the following error.
    Error description ’’Invalid command line:’’"D:\Oracle Demantra Spectrum\Collaborator\demantra\sop\populate_staging.bat"
    I am giving the following value in command line of executable step.
    "#application_root#\sop\populate_staging.bat"
    The batch file exists in the appropriate folder.
    Following code is in the batch file.
    sqlldr userid=msdem/msdem@demsbx control=load_item_hier.ctl
    Please help me.
    Thanks

    This should work for you-
    Create a batch file on your current server (ODI) and write in the path to the other batch file on the other server.
    //Server2completename/D$/Path/yourbatchfile.bat
    From ODI call your batch file that you created on the same machine.. which will inturn call the other batch file on a different machine to execute batch client.
    Also can you paste the errors that you may be getting.. need to check if you are getting any specific issue related to this.
    Thanks

  • How to run a Dos batch from SSIS based on SQL table content

    Hi,
    I have a very simple package with an execute sql task. This task checks if a certain record is present in the DWH or not. This record is always a row in a table where the task checks if the time of the latest data import equals today's date. I would like
    to extend tis package so that if that record exists,so the latest data imoprt was succesfull in the DWH then package runs a .BAT file from the file system, if the reocrd is not present do nothing.
    Is there a TSQL command to run a .BAT file from my file system? I did  not really find my answers on the net so any help is appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi Vaibhav,
    Thanks, but variable still does not want to pick up the value from the SQL query.
     I changed the SQL statement (it counts how many values with 4 days lag are in the FTDA column):
    and changed the Result set:
    Created a variable:
    Set precedence constraint:
    and still the variable takes value 0,which is the default.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Check if mapping is proper and datatypes of resultset vs variable is same.
    Then it will work fine
    You can also put a breakpoint on post execute of execute sql task and check the variable value once it reaches there.
