Running Java apllets with in C++ applications
How can I run a Java applet in a C++ appliction? I need to make my application load and run a Java applet and communicate with it. Possibly use a little Java native so the Java applet can better communicate with the C++ application.
So how would I dod this, if I can?
Check out this part of the Java tutorial:

Accessing Java Object with out any application servers
Hi,
I would be much thankful if any one guide/suggest me how to
access an java object with out using any application servers.I am
having an java object which holds dummy data and an mxml file which
contains some text fields. My plan was to access the java object
and put the dummy data in the text fields. I am using RemoteObject
for this. I am not able to proceed further. Please help me.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Karun KumarYou can check The Merapi Project it's still in the
development phase but it'll allow to an AIR app invoke a java class
and run it as it were inside your app. But that's something you
can't take into production yet, why don't u wanna use a server
backend? -
Distributing Java Directory with my custom application
I would like to distribute a JRE with my custom application.
On a fresh machine, I have managed to copy the entire j2re1.x.x_x directory and have been successful in running my applicaiton without running the usual Windows J2re installer.
Do I risk losing any J2RE functionality by doing this? Like the ability to run applets in internet explorer...etc???
It seems that the j2re1.x.x_x directory is self contained...
Thanks,

Run SAP BPM with alternative portal applications ?
Hi BPM experts,
Is it possible to run SAP BPM without SAP NW Portal and use an alternative portal application instead?
The general idea here is to use alternative SAP-independent frontend technology and use SAP BPM for process control "only".
Best regards,
PeterBenjamin,
thanks for your reply. Does this mean that there's defnitely no other way and one MUST use SAP NW Portal in order to run a SAP BPM application (at least with the current release)?
Best regards,

Running java program with arguments in Unix
Hi
I am a new newbie to java so pardon if this is too simple for you .
This is my scenario. I have a java program which parses an xml and writes a .dat file. I execute this testparser.java in unix environment like this
java testparser xml1.xml
and it retuns me a .dat file
But my issue is I have to run my parser program for 40 xml files. The requirement is I have to create a script file and possibly with a for loop which will loop through 1-40 xml files and return me the .dat file.
I am really at a loss here. I am new both to Java and Unix
So pls help me out
Thanks in Advance
GYou could just do this in Java. Make it take all 40 xml files on the command line, and convert them all with one program invocation.
If you want to do it in shell script, you can do something like
for tmp in `ls -1 *.xml`; do
java testparser $tmp
donedepending on your shell, etc. -
Can't run java apps with System.out.println on any builder.
Hello,
I'm currently using Vista RC2, which is the immediate problem.
Classes with System.out.println won't launch the console window. As I'm a student and practicing on these steps, I do have quite a problem on my hands. I click on run, build succesfull, nothing happens.
I have tried Netbeans and Jcreator, and gave up on trying different builds, as I reckon I'll have to find some other way to counter this; any way to get println messages working in vista?It is run as a desktop app, and other runs with commands such as JOptionPane do function, only the println windows don't appear at all. So I think JRE is installed and working.
I did notice there was one command for input where I'd be able to enter it at the bottom of Netbeans.
Like just now I clicked build and run for the following code
import java.util.*;
public class FirstProgram
public static void main(String[] args)
System.out.println("Hello out there.");
System.out.println("I will add two numbers for you.");
System.out.println("Enter two whole numbers on a line:");
int n1, n2;
Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
n1=keyboard.nextInt();
n2=keyboard.nextInt();
System.out.println("The sum of those two numbers is");
System.out.println(n1+n2)
}Resulting in a brief flash of "input" in the output window (which is below the coding window) and it dissapears. But this also occurs when I don't include system scanner code.
Using commands in cmd
java -jar "C:\Users\Alegis\Netb\MyApp\dist\MyApp.jar"
Does not yield desired results either. Nothing happens. -
Deliver the JRE with own desktop application - without installation
Hi,
the Java license allows to distribute Java along with a software application, if Java is needed to run this application. I do not want my users to worry about operating systems, java versions and installations. So my idea was to include the JRE in a subfolder of my application and to use a native launcher to start the jar containing the main program, using the JRE in the subfolder.
It seems to work - and I'm quite sure that previous versions of the eclipse IDE did this exactly this way. Unfortunately, I'm not able to find any download containing the JRE without an installer. And first installing and then copying the extracted files seems to be a dirty workaround. Also it's not really clear if this would be conform to the java license.
So my question would be if there's any clean approach for this.927748 wrote:
Thanks for the pointer - although it's weird that there's no zip or something similar only containing the files (without an installer).That used to exist, but it was dropped in favor of only an installer (for Windows) long before the Oracle takeover. I guess the main reason was that when you provide the runtime as a zip file, that does not install any "default Java" (IE. a java.exe / javaw.exe in the windows system folder). Having a default java, which means being able to run java stuff without ever having to modify any PATH variable yourself like was already the case on Linux for ages, was kind of a big deal for Sun back in the day. -
Running java program as a server
Please advise of what's difference in running java program with -server option and just runing it like java program1?
Thx-server option uses the server VM for the program and if you use -client it will be run using client VM. Default is client.
The main difference is the optimations. When you are running with -client option the program is optimized to startup faster and to give better response times.
-server option optimizes for better resourse management which is important than start up time in server systems -

ThanxCan i use EJB components in it?Yes, you can use EJB components. IIS uses Tomcat as a plugin and Tomcats feeds IIS with HTML code. Tomcat performes all the JAVA work including EJB. This links shows you how to install it:

Shoud be the same for version 4.1 -
Error while running Java Application as NT Service using INSTSRV
Hi,
I am trying to run Java Application as an NT Service using Instsrv.But when i start the service It works fine.when i stop the service it does not stop and it continues to run the application.When i uninstall the service It still executes.When i reboot my machine it stops .Is there any solutions for this.Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.I actually had similar situation. I used autoexnt.ext tool (it creats a service that can be called when rebooting) to start a batch file which in turn run a java program. After the program starts, it can only be stopped through Task Manager or Ctrl-C at the dos window (it creats a dos window) or close the window directly. Stopping the service has nothing to do with the program. I feel this is reasonable because the only function of the service here is to start the application. After that the service does not (very likely) have any connection with the program so whatever you do with the service will not affect the program itself. I wonnder if you are in the same situation.

That'll pop up another consoleI'm under the impression that the console window he is seeing is the one which cmd.exe opens when it is executing the batch file. And that batch file won't return until the java process has completed because he didn't start it in the background to let the batch file continue and terminate.
So I don't think just simply substituting java with javaw will do much good either. Still think he needs a "start" command in that batch file.
So now he can try:
start java -jar ...
or
start javaw -jar ...Fair point -
