Running JMF in JavaScript

I couldn't find a 'JavaScript' sub forum on this site so I apologize if this is the wrong forum.
Can JMF run in JavaScript? If so, then why doesn't this snipped work?
                <script type="text/JavaScript" language="JavaScript" charset="UTF-8">
                    importPackage(javax.media);
                    importPackage(java.util.vector);
                    var deviceListVector = CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(new AudioFormat(AudioFormat.LINEAR, 44100, 16, 1));
                    var captureDeviceInfo = CaptureDeviceInfo(deviceListVector.firstElement());
                    document.write("Capture Device:  " + captureDeviceInfo.getName());
                </script>

    Hello captfoss!
    The Linux video drivers are buggy. If you give them video they don't like, they crash.You seem to repeat this statement quite often......but I don't think s/he is using Linux. S/He is using Solaris10 !!!
    I don't know if Linux and Solaris are same OS.............
    Thanks! And please don't take it as a comment! :-)

  • Error Running Doc-Level JavaScript from VBS

    I have the document level javascript function in my PDF document "FillForm()", (see code below).  When I run my VBS code, (see code below) I get the error:  "Run-time Error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method." on the "jso.FillForm" line.  I can execute 'jso.console.Show' without a problem.  What am I doing wrong?  (Oh, and it has to be a document level funtion, and not a folder level function.  And once I get this working, I'll be passing parameters.  I'm using a stripped down function just to get this to work).

  • Can I run an html/javascript AIR app on Android or iOS?

    Is it possible to compile an already-existing HTML/javascript app to install/run it on any mobile OS (Android or iOS, in particular)? I haven't found anything that says it's possible, only instructions for doing it with a Flash/Flex based AIR app.
    I have a large html/javascript app, with a lot of value put into it, and my client would like to be able to package it for use on tablets. Ideally, I'd like to be able to not only have it run there, but also be able to "hide" the html/js code from prying eyes, if there's a way to do that.
    Thanks much in advance... I've done considerable research trying to get an answer to these questions.

    Hi Ross,
    the certificate used for APK files is a self-signed one so at this point, no need to use Google Console yet.
    See http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/publishing-process-android-amazon-mobil e.html (Create a certificate file using Keytool)
    Testing is only a matter of installing the APK file on the device where you should be able to test.
    The Android developer account will be useful for testing if you have in-app purchases matching 'retail' folios.

  • A trigger to run an InDesign javascript at regular intervals...

    I have a javascript that needs to run in Adobe InDesign CS3 for Windows at regular intervals, say every five minutes. The purpose of the script is to test the latency of our production servers - it opens a test document, places an image, formats some text, closes and saves the document. At the end of the routine, it writes the elapsed time for this process to a log file which is monitored. This allows us to track the condition of the network and i/o on the servers since all of the test docs are opened across our network from a user work station. The script itself works very nicely but I'm looking for a way to trigger it at a timed interval. I be interested to hear any ideas the group has on how this can be done. Thanks in advance, Will

    In CS5, you can use idleTask to run the script using ExtendScript.
    Here's a tip on one way to go about it in AppleScript:

  • Running JMF applet without JMF?

    How can I get my JMF applets to run on a users machine without JMF installed on their machine?
    Can I emded a JMF plugin in the HTML code (just enough to let them run the applet!) ?
    thanks

    please dont cry.....
    one thing is u need to send all the class files required for the applet to run on the client side.
    below is the code to detect for the plug in for ie and netscape:
    out.println("<body bgColor=\"#EEEEE0\">");
                        out.println("<h1 align=center>Aspire Chat</h1>");
                        out.println("<table border=1 align=\"center\"><tr><td>");

  • Running JMF on CDC (CVM) ?

    Hello everybody.. I have been trying with much frustration to run a JMF application on J2ME CDC using the CVM. The problem lies when I try to load a JMF plugin, for example, a G723 Encoder, to convert a WAV file to a G723 file. The main error that I suspect is :
    can not load G723 Encoder
    reason : java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: JMFSecurityManager: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Unable to get link privilege to jmutil
    javax.media.ResourceUnavailableException: can not load G723 Encoder
    I am running on RedHat Linux 7.3. Have tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to where the libjmutil.so and other JMF libraries are located, but still does not solve my problem. Running the same application on J2SE 1.4's JVM works. Tried to LD_PRELOAD the jmutil library, but gives me a bunch of errors when I try to launch the application.
    Would really really appreciate anybody who could give some advice on this problem that I am facing.
    Thank you very much in advance!!

    First you may try to download JMF Cross-Platform. It's written in Java without native libraries.
    If there are native encoders/decoders for Linux you may try to use them.
    The second workaround is to use -Djava.library.path instead of setting environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

  • Running process from javascript

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to run a page process with javascript with the htmldb_Get but I have no results until now. My example is very simple, it's just click on a page link and call a javascript function like this:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function test(){
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=myProcess',0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    get = null;
    </script>
    Can someone help, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
    Tks in advance

    Hi,
    On Demand is type of application process.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/bldr_pgs.htm#sthref847
    Probably all examples what you have seen about htmldb_Get are calling On Demand process.

  • Error running JMF MAC + Lion

    Hi guys, I am trying to setup JMF on my mac.
    I've downloaded cross-platform JMF, unzipped it and added the jmf.jar to /Library/Java/Extensions folder.
    just to make sure, in my intellij project i've added the jmf.jar as a library itself.
    When I run example project i got of the web i get this error:
    JarDiff: [-nonminimal (for backward compatibility with 1.0.1/1.0] [-creatediff | -applydiff] [-output file] old.jar new.jar
    Would be good if someone explained me the error or pointed me in the right direction to solve it.
    Thanks

    If you have only the minimum required ram installed to run Lion (2gb), that may be why.  4gb is best.  Clean installs aren't risky and complex as long as you have a backup of your data.  A clean install would involve first erasing your hdd via disc utility, powering down, then powering on while holding down the option key (same as holding command+r, but one less key to hold) to get you into Lion recovery.  Install Lion, and it will look as if you just bought the machine new.  Then, you would need to selectivley restore items from a backup (if you do a normal install by just restoring everything from your backup, you will have defeated the purpose of a clean install in my mind).  You will also need disc 2 that came with your mac to reinstall GarageBand, iWeb, iDVD, and iPhoto or else you will lose.  There are plenty of tutorials online and many experienced people here who can walk you through it.  May, sound intimidating, but it can be done if you can follow directions (they aren't complicated)

  • How do i create permanent javascripts that do not have to be run using the javascript console

    I have written a code that adds footers to the bottom of an adobe pdf and i have been running that code from the adobe console.  I would like to create a permanent script that can be called from the edit tab and will ask for two user inputs and run without opening the console

    yes, however i do not have adobe pro so i added the show console:
    app.addMenuItem({cName:"Show Console",cParent:"Edit",cExec:"console.show()"});
    and i would like to add:
    app.addMenuItem({cName:"Add Footer",cParent:"Edit",cExec:"addFooter()"});
    however i am unsure how to make add footer run as an independent function or if it should be a subroutine and furthermore where it needs to be saved?

  • Can't run JMF Applet in IE

    OS: win2000 professional
    JRE: Jdk-1.4.0._01
    JMF: 2.1
    Borwser: IE 5.0
    I have completed installing the JMF, but no JMF Applet
    can be shown in IE, the messages always are
    "class Not Found, javax.media.ControllerListener" or
    "class Not Found, javax.media.Player"
    anyone can help me? thanks!

    I think I found where the problem comes from.
    In one machine I installed jmf as admin I found following registy key:
    LocalMachine--software--microsoft--javavm
    there is one value called classpath which contains the jmf directory.
    I suppose this key make java plug-in find our jmf library.
    However in anothre machine I installed jmf without admin privalages. I didn't see that key contain my jmf directory. This is because I don't have the privalages to modify this key. The installation doesn't give me any warning messages. I think this is the problem.
    When Iinclude that tag <APPLET archive="jmf.jar" in the html pages. The java console said that the applet don't have the permission to use capture audio devices. So..... It still don't work
    Any suggestions?

  • Different results running the same Javascript - CC vs CS6

    I'm having some issues setting a text field's font size using Javascript. For some reason I always get 2.88 point font as opposed to what I set it at (in this case it's 12). Anyone know what is wrong here and why PS isn't recognizing the command to set the font size?
    #9740928 - Pastie
    Line 42 is where I'm setting the size.
    Line 27 is where the variable is defined. I've tried just punching in an integer with the same results.
    Thank you for any help.
    So I think there might be an issue with Adobe CC or perhaps some changes in it's developement as far as how it's handling Javascript. I've ran multiple tests today and did some reading. At the end of the line I decided to try the script out on CS6 and I got the correct results. So the script works on CS6, but not CC? I made an example script that I did my tests on for the Adobe team to take a peak at. It's at the end of this post.
    I'm no script master by any stretch of the imagination, but I find it odd that this script works properly on Adobe CS6, but does not modify the font size correctly on Adobe CC. I'd expect that same results. If any of you come up with anything please let me know. Cheers.
    //START OF THE SCRIPT
    var defaultRulerUnits = preferences.rulerUnits;
    preferences.rulerUnits = Units.PIXELS;
    var AD = activeDocument ;
    theSize = 53;
    var TextLayer = AD.artLayers.add();
          TextLayer.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;
          TextLayer.opacity = 90;
           var txtRef = TextLayer.textItem;
                txtRef.font = "Impact";
                txtRef.contents = theSize;  //The defined size of 53 is reflected accurately in CS6 but when this script is ran on CC it is not. Sometimes it's 12, sometimes it's 2.88.
                txtRef.size = theSize;
    //END OF THE SCRIPT
    ^I'm saving this as a .JS

    The messing up of DOM font size somewhere in CC 2014 is a known issue.
    Re: Did CC 2014.2 break textItem.size?
    The alternative would be using AM code.
