Running samples not working...

I could run these samples before, but now they do not work with the following error. Any idea why this is happening? I solved it once by deleting files in the temp directory, but now that does not work. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Looks like your JDBC is not ok on the middle tier machine. You need to be able
to connect using JDBC from the middle tier to the database.

Adding multiple locales to TwitterTrends mobile sample - not working

Hi All,
I have been having trouble adding support for muliple locales in my application so I desided to try it out with TwitterTrends sample application. Should be easy, but not working for me...
What I did:
1. Add locale folder under assets with an en_US sub folder
          src/assets/locale/en_US
2. Create a properties file for en_US and save to src/assets/locale/en_US
     src/assets/locale/en_US/twittertrends.properties
3. Add a single resource key for the home view in 'twittertrends.properties'
     views.home.title=Twitter Trends
4. Update the TwitterTrendsHome.mxml to use fetch the title from the properties file
     title="{resourceManager.getString( 'twittertrends', 'views.home.title' )}"
5. Add the locale folder to the applications source path, I did this by modifying the additional compilter args for Flash Builder:
     -locale en_US -source-path=assets/locale/{locale}
Result:
No title is displayed..
I am not sure what I did wrong. Any help is much appreciated.
Has anyone else seen/not seen this issue?

The problem is that the compiler isn't smart enough to tell that you're using the 'twittertrends' resource bundle unless you tell it so via [ResourceBundle] metadata. It doesn't try to analyze the ActionScript code inside of databinding expressions to determine what parameters you are passing to ResourceManager functions, etc.
If instead of databinding you use the @Resource() compiler directive, as in
title="@Resource('twittertrends', 'views.home.title')"
then it should be able to figure this out without the [ResourceBundle] metadata. But this way of doing it doesn't support switching the locale at runtime.

Tree Binding sample not works on iAS 10.1.2

I have downloaded sample Tree Binding - Tree View Control (http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/jdev/index.html)
and opened with jDeveloper 10.1.2.
On Embedded OC4J it works fine but after deploy to iAS 10.1.2, the tree control on departmentTree.jsp is void.
Is there any problem with tree on iAS 10.1.2 ?

The Servlet that made the Ajax functionality used a datasource, and the same was in the Embedded OC4J Preferences. The ADF Business Components part was changed to use the datasource declared on the iAS. The Servlet however was not...
So, all works now.

Samples not working in EXS24 and Kontakt after volume change.

So I recently swapped my optical drive for an SSD and have elected the SSD as my new boot disk (my internal hard drive was the boot disk before). When I installed the SSD, I installed Lion onto it and then used a time machine backup to restore it to a replica of my old internal drive.
Now when I open a recent project, I see only a few instances of Kontakt without instruments loaded (factory 808 kit works still) and all instances of exs24 (about 3 or 4) are showing that my samples are loaded in the edit window. Exs24 shows the samples emitting audio in the track list, but not in the inspector windows. Playing by midi doesn't work either, the only things that DO work are audio tracks and instances of synths.
About my volumes:
- I load my samples (including audio samples and libraries) from an external drive via usb.
- My projects are also kept on the external drive.
- The only task allocated to my SSD (or initially my hard drive) is to run logic and run my plugins
- Old internal hard drive has been formatted and I'm not really using it at all
What seems to be the icing on the cake is that my most recent project works perfectly fine and is running many instances of kontakt and exs24.
Can someone please save me from this technological ****?

FDS samples not working "send failed"

Hi all,
me again with another problem .....
I have installed FDS at the default location c:\fds2...
I am having problems running the sample apps that can be
accessed from the page :-
http://localhost:8700/samples/
The Integrated Flex Server is running in a cmd window as
required.
However, when I try to run the sample CRM app at
http://localhost:8700/samples/dataservice/crm/companyapp.mxml
(or any Data Service samples ) I get the initial screen showing
with the 2 panels BUT then get an error message "Send failed"
popup. When I say OK to this popup, I get not data returned.
I am sure it's a fairly easy problem to solve for you
talented folks.

Something is wrong with your installation because I've
istalled today the two versions because I want use Tomcat and the
CRM application works fine with JRun.
I have your problem with the J2EE installation wich gives me
a "Channel disconnected" and "send failed" message. I overcome this
problem running Integrated Flex Server before open CRM application
in tomcat. Now I have the two versions running without any problem

Ultrabeat Samples Not Working?

Using the African kit and some of the samples are not sounded when I play them on the ultrabeat interface whilst others work just fine. Any suggestions on how to sort this?

You can't run a non Universal Binary of Logic (i.e., < 7.2) on an Intel apple computer. This 'crap updates' is absolutely essential.

[SOLVED] vsftpd on Local Mirror, running but not working

I'm building a Local Mirror on a vm (vbox) with bridged adapter and fix-ip by following this wiki.

After the painful rsync and those setup, I tried pacman -Syu from another Arch vm (no firewall). I received the following error.

I've tried by nmap on the hosting PC and find that the vsftpd should be running.

In the wiki, it suggests to use "ftp" to replace "mirror" for ftp_username & nopriv_user. I tried both.
I also find that there is no "archlinux" under my /home/mirror/files as "suggested" by the following statement in vsftpd.conf

anon_root=/home/mirror/files/archlinux
I tried both (1) amend the vsftpd.conf to remove the "archlinux", and (2) manually add that directory with owner/group=mirror.
Meanwhile, I only find under /home/mirror/files 6 items - community core extra community.lastsync core.lastsync extra.lastsync. Have I completed the rsync successfully? Or, something is missing. Is the directory structure correct?
Is the sample vsftpd.conf in the Local Mirror wiki updated? I've cross reference it with the vsftpd wiki but I'm not knowledgable enough to find things useful.
What else should I check?
I love ArchLinux so much that I really hope that it can work.

I have tried couple of Linux distro to learn Linux/Network. I like ArchLinux's "simple" concept, light weight, updated packages, nice document and fast bootup/shutdown. I have installed over ten times ArchLinux in different virtualmachines and netbook in the past week. I will keep some, delete some and create more. I don't have a fast internet connection and that's why I would like to set up my local mirror. I am a newbie here, so please feel free to let me know if I am taking too much (bandwidth) from the community, and it is not encouraged for my case. And sorry if I have already created any trouble.
Well, back to my problem.
1. After the rsync, including everything, the / now occupies 14G harddisk space. Is it a normal size for a local mirror?
2. I have inserted "Server = file:///home/mirror/files/$repo/os/i686" as the first line in its /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
pacman -Syy looks fine.
pacman -Syu gives a list of warning (xxx: local is newer than core), end with "there is nothing to do"
pacman -S mplayer starts installtion normally, but need mirrors on internet cause a large portion of software is missing/inaccessible on my local mirror.
3. I have tried to login by FileZilla from an Ubuntu vm, and receive this error message (on FileZilla)
Status: Connecting to 192.168.100.100:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 421 Service not available.
Error: Could not connect to server
Seems I have issues on both the mirror and the vsftpd. I prefer to resolve the vsftpd problem first, but all suggestion/comment are very welcome.
Lastly, did I post my question in a wrong place? If yes, please let me know.

Color Sampler not working outside my window! Urgent, please help!

I just installed Photoshop on my Surface Pro 3. I am doing a presentation in a few hours where I will need to be able to demonstrate the use of the Color Sampler outside the window. It doesn't work. It goes up to the edge of the workspace but does not sample beyond that. I've tried using the pen, the trackpad and the mouse. None of them work. If I try to do it on my Windows 8.1 desktop, it works fine. Help!

Just looked into this and have found a resolution. Always learning new tricks!! So forgive me I was wrong in the first post.
You CAN do it by clicking within the workspace and then dragging outside so continually holding down then letting go outside the workspace.

Running Total not working

Dear all,
I am creating a new report which needs a conditional running total.
I need to sum the credits quantity if the following condtions are met
line_type="S" and
line_no<3
I used running total like this
Field to summarize: lab_credits2.credit_qty
Type of Summary: SUM
Evaluate: Use formula
{lab_credits2.line_type}="S" and
{lab_credits2.line_no}<3;
Reset: On change of group (Reason Code).
When I ran the report, it did not produce the right results, so I placed the line type and line no into the same Group footer and ran the report.
I found out that the report is not filtering the linetype and line no.
Result shows
Line Type ="S" - 100 - Line number =1
Line Type = "M" - 200 - Line number=6
and so on.
The report is grouped by Reason Code.
Any ideas why would it not be filtering the records?

{lab_credits.credit_status} = 2;
Status=2 is needed there to filter the Order numbers correctly.

I have put all three in detail and used the filteration and it worked under detail section however the results when used in total SUM is produced incorrectly.
I suspect it might be of database table linkage? or maybe I have done something wrong in the report.
I am going to create another report and see if that works.

Right I found the issue however I don't know how to resolve it.
I have 4 tables in the database
1: Lab Credits - Order_num, Credit_status, Reason_code
2: Lab Credits2 - Order_num, Line_no, Line_type, Credit_qty
3: Lab Reasons - Reason_code,Reason_description
4: Oetrn2 - Order_num
This is how they are linked up
Lab_Credits_Order_num = Lab_credits2_order_num and oetrn2_order_num
Lab_Credits_Reason_code = lab_reasons_reason_Code
Report Grouping
Grouped by Reason Code
Date range - month to date
Report Record Selection
{lab_credits.credit_date} in monthtodate and
{lab_credits2.line_no}<3 and
{lab_credits2.line_type}="S" and
{lab_credits.credit_status}=2;
Now the issue
When I add sum of qty of lab_credits2_credit_qty into the report Group footer,it produces the right results However when I add
DistinctCount of Oetrn2_Order_num into the Group footer, it creates totally different Sum of Lab Credit Qty results. (Please note: The oetrn2_order_num results appear fine, however they messup Sum of Lab_credit_credit_qty).
What do you think where am I doing wrong?
It has to be something to do with table linkage.

SAPOsCol running but not working (shared memory not available)

Dear Forum,
We have just set new passwords for SAP AD users (incl SAPService<SID> and <SID>adm), after this restarted SAP instances and servers / clusters). Everything came up well and all services, incl SAPOsCol started up automatically with the new passwords.
Everything works fine - only this morning i wanted to have a look in ST06 and the program tells me "SAPOSCOL not running? (shared memory not available).
The service is running tho, would a restart of the service do any difference, and is there any possibility that a restart of the service on a live and running system would force a system restart? (i couldnt think of any, but I hate restarting services on a live running production system).
Would it be an option to stop/start the collector from ST06?

Increment date paramters each run is not working

i have a schedualed concurrent request that take a date prameter, i schedule the request to run daily with the option "increment date paramters each run" but it runs daily without incremeting the date what could be worng

You mean it was working earlier ? yes and still for all old request but not the new ones.
Do you by any chance use a sql to define the default parameter (like select sysdate from dual) ? yes i do i user select sysdate-1 from dual because i need it to run to the preivose date
Try to use paramter type = date, and default = Current Date, and check the increment date run. will try but i dont need the current data, i need current date -1

Quick Font Sampling Not Working in Illustrator CC 2014 18.1.0

I just updated Illustrator CC 2014 to version 18.1.0 and have lost a feature I've come to depend upon to try out different fonts. I don't know what to call the feature, but this is how it worked:
With a type box selected or type highlighted, I would go to the font menu and with my up/down arrows on my keyboard, start going through the list. This would cause the selected text to change. It was a super quick way to run up and down my font list to see what different type would look like.
Any ideas what's gone wrong?
What I'm running:

3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB RAM

I can change the font with the arrow tool, but it wouldn't change the text block I was applying it to unless I then hit "Enter." In the previous version of AI, I didn't need to do this until I landed on a font I wanted to use.
However, after an hour-long chat with Adobe, they were able to see my issue and provided a very simple fix:
1. Quit Illustrator CC 2014 18.1.0.
2. Go to: User>Library>Preferences>Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings, select the folder "en_US" and change its name (they had me rename it to "2en_US")
3. Relaunch Illustrator and the problem should be resolved. Illustrator creates a new preference folder.
4. You can go ahead and delete the original, renamed preference folder.
I hope this is helpful to others that have had the same problem.

Samples not working: class not registered

P.S. here, while I am writing, for I don't know what reason, it seems that after I press Enter at the end of the line, all the text goes below and thus, my first line became last, and my last phrase (this) became first. I only hope it's a problem only here, not at the display as well.

When I try CoCreateInstance, for instance, I always receive errors "class not registered".
I have tried the basic samples, but it seems that it cannot register the CLSIDs (CLSIDFromProgID: there is no ProgID "AcroExch.AVDoc" in windows registry, for instance! and the CLSIDs I have gotten from the type lib (AcroRd32.dll) seem not to exist in the windows registry.
I have downloaded the acrobat reader sdk because I needed to use some classes like CAcroAVDoc.
