RWB Alert Inbox Subscription No Alert Categories found

Hi,
In RWB> Alert Inbox> Subscription link, I could not find any Alert Categories.
Alert Inbox wokrks fine.
In the RWB> Alert Categories, every thing works fine and I can see the alert categories.
We r on NW 2004S PI 7.0 Service Pack 09.
reg,

Hi,
You should have the subscription authorization!
While defining the Alert Category in ALERCATDEF, you need to go to Sunscription Authorization and then give the roles who can subsrbie to this alert.
Then log on to the Alert inbox with an user id that has the same role and you will be able to see the Alert Categories.

  • BPMON Alert Inbox - role based custom query

    Hello experts,
I have a requirement from my customer in BPMON alert inbox to build a custom queries and distribute them to end-users based on security access or other kind of assignment.
Say for example, we have a monitoring object "purchase requisition" defined for all company codes (regions).
We do not want region A to see BPMON alerts for region B.
So far what I have found is:
    1) the alert inbox shows all alerts to everyone who has access to BPO work center, cannot find an authorization object to restrict this.
BPM_DETAIL kind of supposed to do the trick, but it only checks the authorizations when "Detail info" button hit - way pass the initial alerts list.
We want to restrict the alerts visibility even before they come to hit the "Detail" button.
    2) Query to view alerts: seems that STANDARD query is available to everyone, and the standard query shows ALL alerts. The Filter would work, and we can create a new query to see only partial alert list, but this query is not "custom" but actually "user-specific", i.e. only person who created it can see it.
We want the ADMIN person to create queries centrally for all regions, and be able to assign those queries to the regional people, so that they can only see the query that contain data pertaining to the region.
And by the way - the "standard" query should be only assigned to ADMIN (not to everyone).
Is it possible to achieve ?
    Appreciate any comments.
    Thank you
    Elena

yes, you're correct. Basically "Associate assigned security roles with specific security scopes and collections" is required when you've more than one security role. However, do you think it's worth a try  "login
into console with respective administrative user and check the required access."
Also would that be possible to paste the screenshots of security scope properties of administrative users? That would also give some more idea.
I've noted down some of the issues in the following link ( I don't think nothing is directly related to your issue but it may give some clues) http://anoopcnair.com/2013/02/18/configmgr-sccm-2012-sp1-rba-implementation-gotchas-and-troubleshooting-tips/

  • Alert configuration or Alert Inbox-----404 Not Found

    Hi,
In RWB, When I click Alert configuration or Alert Inbox
    the following message is displayed
    404 Not Found
    SAP J2EE Engine/6.40
The requested resource does not exist.
Details: Go to main page of this application!
Is this due to installation problem ?
    How to fix this ?
    Thanks,
    ss

    Hi,
check the following entries in your Exchange Profile:
com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.r3.ashost --- Must be full qualified
    com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.httpport   --- 80<SysNo> or see SMICM -> Goto -> Services: http-Port
Normaly you only need to refresh you RWB with the following link:
    http://<System>:<Port>/rwb/rtc?op=init
if this doesn't work try to restart the complete ABAP Stack.
    Good luck!

  • Links "alert configuration" & "alert inbox" show page not found error

    Hi,
One of our test servers is at SP9, SR1 installation.
When i tried  to access <b>"Alert Configuration"</b> , <b>"Alert Inbox"</b> links in RWB, the link pages dosen't get dispalyed. It gives the follwing error
404 Page not found ... The requested resource does not exist.
Should we try redeploying RWB sda..?
    cheers,
    Siva Maranani.

    Hi Siva,
    I'm Pruthvi working in SAP-XI.
When I try to click on the Alert-Configuration and Alert-Inbox I'm getting the same error you got :
    404 Not Found
    The requested source doesnot exist
From your blog I got to know the below things :
    1) We will get HTTP port number and full host name value from the t-code SMICM -> Goto -> Services
    2) We have to give the HTTP port number value in Exchange Profile  in com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.httpport
    3) We have to give the full host name value in Exchange Profile  in  com.sap. aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.r3.ashost
    4) Also I have checked in the t-code SICF and all the required services as described in sap note 768456 were present over there.
Apart from the above do I need to check for anyother services (or) parameters that needs to be installed for setting the alert configuration.
Also You said that PMI store is already configured during post-installation steps
Can you please let me know what is PMI store and how to check it is configured (or) not and also where to see it.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pruthvi

  • Viewing alert in my RWB ALERT INBOX !!!

    Hi all
I have read the blogs/forums in order to implement my alert inbox but until now I don´t know why my I can not see my alerts in the Run Time Workbench Alert Inbox.
Please see the steps that I have performed.
    In the Abap Side
I have created an alert category D with this information:
In the properties tab  I fill  the values fields for Description, priority,Max no of   dels, expiry time in min, escalation active, escalation recipient, tolerance
In the container tab I have entered some variables
I fill the long and short text for email
In Settings ---Configurations      I have only filled the status handling mails  for errors status and the logging fields
In the Runtime Work bench Alert Configuration
I have created a new rule for my category
When I go to the rwb alert inbox , no error was triggered
In the SLG1 transaction for alert  I have this error : No e-mail address is entered in Customizing for XML forwarding
Do I have to enter an email address in the Settings ---Configurations?
My purposes are to show the error alerts in RWB alert inbox …
In my above descriptions do I had to configure something else?
be aware that services are running ok .Please give me a step by step action that I have to realize in order to trigger the alerts in the RWB alert inbox.
I have already read the forums, blogs and note for this, I am a little confused because my implementations are not working.

    Hi,
    Try this...
         1.      From the alert category definition environment (transaction ALRTCATDEF), choose Settings -> Configuration.
           2.      Ensure you are in change mode.
           3.      If you want to be able to confirm alerts by SMS or Internet mail, you must enter the user created to receive all incoming mails in the Inbound Processing section. For more information, see Alert Confirmation.
           4.      In the Status Handling for Mails section, you can specify which statuses are to be reported. The first setting refers to the system being informed, and the second refers to a status mail being sent to the sender.
           5.      In the Logging section, select Write Log only if you want additional information about the actual processing of the alerts. This information is logged using the standard application log and can be viewed in transaction SLG1 (object ALERT).

  • Alert Inbox and Alert Config does not open in RWB

When I open RWB I am not able to open Alert Inbox and Alert Configuration links. Its says " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" . When I exequte the command ALRTINBOX from Abap stack, it opens the Alert Inbox page.
Can someone tell me if there is any setting that I need to change in my Internet Explorer. I even tried using Mozilla, but same issue. My team members are able to open these links, hence it may be some setting on my machine.

    Hi Chiraj/ Navneet,
Thanks for your reply, I have already tried these setting and my team members are able to login from their comps. Also i have tried using SUPER USER id which has all access, still the same issue. Hence I believe it is an issue with Internet Explorer setting.
    Thanks

  • RWB Alert is not comming  in Alert Inbox

RWB Alert- i am unable to get alert in my Alert Inbox but when i am triggering through FM it is showing in inbox, can anyone suggest me what more need to be done so that i can recieve automatic?
FYI--I have done all the steps required for configuration  and also schedule background job.

    Hi,
    And also check
    2. Settings in the Exchange Profile
    Access the exchange profile at
    http://<J2EE-host>:<J2EEport>/
    exchangeProfile, where
<J2EE-host> is the host name of
    your J2EE Engine, and <J2EE-port>
stands for the HTTP port of the
    engine.
    Make sure that the following
    exchange profile parameters for the
    central monitoring server have
    correct values:
    • com.sap.aii.rwb.server.
    centralmonitoring.
    httpport
This is the HTTP port of the
    ABAP stacks.
    • com.sap.aii.rwb.server.
    centralmonitoring.r3.
    ashost
    • com.sap.aii.rwb.server.
    centralmonitoring.r3.
    client
    • com.sap.aii.rwb.server.
    centralmonitoring.r3.
    sysnr
If you are using a separate
    central monitoring system,
    enter its values here.
If you are also using the
    Integration Server for
    monitoring, enter the
    corresponding values as
    well.
    3. Refresh Exchange Profile
    Parameters
If you change the parameters, you
have to update the RWB. You do
this by either restarting the RWB
    application in the Visual
    Administrator or calling the following
    URL:
    http://<J2EE-host>:<J2EEport>/
    rwb/rtc?op=init

  • Alert by mail or Alert by RWB alert inbox....

    Hi
If  I am in setting -> configuration->Smtp forwarding as XML  in order to set up a mail for XI Alert error did that mean that won´t receive alert in the RWB alert Inbox ?
Can I implement both of functionalities (alert by mail and alert in rwb alert inbox ) at the same time ?
Thank U for your feet back

SMTP forwarding as XML will forward the Alert as XML message and will not send a alert to alert inbox . This is standard functionality.
If you want both mail and Alert in Alert inbox , procedure is a bit different,
    1. Do not select SMTP Fowrdingas XML . Let it be none.
    2. Make sure that the recipeient of the alert has the email id associated with him in SU01
    3. Log on to Alert Inbox , and go to Personlization --> TIme Independent Delivery --> Email and this will forward now theAlert to both mail and alert inbox.
Mail will be a text mail though
    regards

  • Alert inbox in RWB

    Hi,
whenever i executed a program of RSALERTTEST,
testing alerting message was sent by executing RSALERTTEST with alerting category i define by ALRTCATDEF to alert inbox in rwb as well. but i made deliberate receiver determination error, then i could not see any alerting message in alert inbox in rwb.
so what am i missing for alerting?
    i am on SP15, XI SP 15
    thanks in advance
    venjamin

    Hello All,
    some remarks.
The report RSALERTPROC does not need to run to deliever RWB alerts. These alerts are pushed directly to the receiver. Only if you want escalation processes or if you want to forward CCMS alerts to the Alert Mgmt. you need to schedule RSALERTPROC.
From SP 14 on PMI-free alerting was introduced. That means before SP 14 one has to configure and activate the End-to-End Monitoring, and to schedule the report SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET in order to extract the alerts from the PMI data. For SP 14 and higher, that's not longer necessary.
If no alerts are being delivered, please check if "Suppress multiple alerts of this rule" is checked for your rule.
For SP 14 and higher you could also have a look at the report sxmsalert_logreader. This report shows some information about alerts being created or not.
You'll find more information about trouble shooting the alerting in SAP Note 913858.
    Rgds.,
    Andreas

  • Alert inbox - Alert Categories - Container elements

    Hi all,
I have configured alerts in alrtcatdef tcode. I am able to receive the alerts in the alert inbox. But the container elements are filled in. When tried <b>with checking the Dynamic Text</b> there is no long text in the alert received in the alert inbox.
    We r on SP 17.
    Did any one try this.
    reg,

    naveen
If u had typed the container elements then u may need to delete those and again insert thru the std option (an icon where you can fetch it). Also check the corresponding data type for the container element. If you are using a wrong data type, which is not valid for that container element, you might face problems.
Check Note : 947738 to solve this issue. Also check Troubleshooting Note specifically 913858.

  • ALert Inbox & Alert Configuration Page in RWB

    Hi,
When I click on the alert Inbox tab or run the transaction ALRTINBOX. I get an "error page cannot be displayed".
I have applied all the SAP notes checked all the services in SICF for alert configuration on PI, checked the exchnage profile parameters all is correct.
There is also an issue when I test the service for Alerts through SICF it gives me the same error in browser " Page cannot be displayed".
The service has a fully qualified host name. Does anybody has a clue here.

    Hi Alexandar,
I unlock the two BSP applications & all the services in SICF are running.
But still it gives page cannot be displayed.
I think its do with the HTTP setting & none of the BSP applications are working. even in Excnhange profile I changed the port.
    Any more clues ..
    Thanks

  • Disappearance of alert message from alert inbox

    XI Experts,
We are using XI 7.0, We have configure alerts for many of our scenario and it is working good. Whenever messages is failed in IE or AE we get an alert in our alert inbox in RWB and for MS outlook. But I observed that alert messages disappear from alert inbox in RWB after the expiry date of the alert message.
I would like to know why my messages are disappearing from alert inbox in RWB after the expiry date? Do we need to do any setting in the system to keep the alert messages in the alert inbox of RWB after the expirty date of message?
    Any helpful input is appreciated.
    MP

Well it makes to clear the alert inbox by having a expiry time but if you do not want one, set the Expiry time in ALRTCATDEF for your alert category to a high value.
    This is explained here,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/96/f1033c128f4a7de10000000a114084/content.htm
<i> In the Expiry Time in Min. field, you can enter a life span for alerts of this category if the alerts will no longer be relevant after a specific period of time. If the expiry time elapses, the alert is removed from the alert inbox and is no longer delivered using any other channel.
Expiry times can be derived from various sources. Priority is given first to the data provided by the triggering application, second to the BAdI ALERT_EXP_DATE, and third to this field in the alert category definition. If none is found in any of these sources, the default expiry of 31.12.2099 applies.</i>

  • Alert Configuration and Alert Inbox Does Not Show Up

    Hello All,
We are having a strange problem regarding alerts in XI. We are on NW2004s XI 7.0 SP 9. The TCode 'ALRTCATDEF' works fine. But when we go for configuring alerts in RWB, it says '404 Not Found: The requested resource does not exist'. Can anybody suggest what is the error behind this?
    Thanking in anticipation,
    Amitabha

If you cannot open your alert inbox check if your alert inbox service is properly activated in SICF:
    - go to TCODE - SICF
    - check if the service alertinbox is activated (you can test it from here)<br><br>
