Rwrun.exe (10.1.2) for calling a report of command line

We have not installed Application Server. We are working with rwrun.exe (9.0.4.2.0) for special-purpose processing in a Client Server environment. Our system is running perfectly. Now we would like to install the actually Developer Suite 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) on server. Does anybody know, if we can use the rwrun.exe (10.1.2) for calling reports in batch processing? It is possible that we will get problems without installed Application Server?

If you have access to Metalink, you can use the RDF provided in the note :
Note.382952.1 RDF to Debug REP-1401 when using Oraclebarcode.jar
else, have you set the env. var. DISLAY ?
It is no more mandatory to set it for Reports but it must be set if you want to use
oraclebarcode.jar :
Set REPORTS_DEFAULT_DISPLAY to NO and initialize DISPLAY with the address of a valid "X Display Server"

I have been tasked to create a VBScript which needs to accomplish the following:
It needs to be called from a command line using 4 different arguments, the arguments in order as follows:
-   Drive letter including colon
Warning threshold in percentage
Warning threshold in GB remaining
Recipient email address
I need to be able to set up a scheduled task, to run this script, but at the same time I need to be able to specify multiple drive letters as separate steps but on a single task. The script needs to automatically run every 4 hours, starting at 06:00AM
in the morning and running no later than 22:00 at night.
The end results, need to then be e-mailed to the Recipient which is specified in Argument (3).
Following is my current script, it is not complete as I am currently pulling my hair out due to having a lack of knowledge of VBScripting.... :( The current script also loops every 10 minutes or so, and uses the incorrect way of sending the results,
we would like to use POSTIE.EXE to send the mail as we would want to eliminate web traffic (Microsoft Schema's) in this script.

How can I install just selected features( like just nidaq drivers) for NI-DAQ 693 via command line silently

I am trying to create installation program for my application which uses NI-DAQ drivers.
I want to include the installation of NI DAQ drivers with my program. I know that you can use setup.exe from command line. But for version 6.9.3 is there a way I can specify along with setup.exe , just the features I want to install.

Running report from command line with multiple value for same parameter

Hey,
I know how to run a report from the command line specifying parameters values each time but I was wondering if someone could tell me how I would go about running the same report multiple times in a batch program but specifying a list of values to pass to a parameter each time.
So for example if a parameter was 'School Number', how could I run a report in a batch program that would pass a school number to the report as a parameter using a list of school numbers generated for a sql statement or something. So if I had 300 school numbers in my list then I would get 300 different reports when the batch program finished.
This leads me to another question. How can I dynamically change the name of the report generated by the batch to use the school number value passed in, so for example if the value 3 was passed in the name would be something like School 3.pdf, if 4 was passed in the name would be School 4.pdf....etc

CUPS print job options fail when called from lp (UNIX command line)

Under Leopard this command-line print request fails to respect the specified job options:
lp -o number-up=2 -o page-border=double <filename>
Though it worked great in Tiger, the number-up and page-border job options are now disregarded. I have tried lots of things (and wasted lots of paper) such as setting them permanently with lpoptions (and they do appear changed when the lpoptions command is repeated), using lpr instead of lp, reinstalling the printer via the CUPS localhost web interface, enabling non-Bonjour scanning with the hack to the CUPS preference file, deselecting "Last Printer Used" for the default printer in the System Preferences -- nope.
I have not tried other job options; I assume that whatever is breaking these two is breaking all the others, and even if it isn't, these two are what I want.
Is something new in Leopard overriding lpoptions job options? How do I make it stop? It is sooooo aggravating when something that used to work fine breaks. The printer is an HP LaserJet 4000N connected by Ethernet and discovered with AppleTalk.

However it did not help. With or without the "-p printername" argument lpoptions does make a persistent change to its own data:

I remember there was a menu to choose different actions from (like email or so), it looked really usable and interesting. If anybody got to know the name, pls drop a line

No, it wasn't a usual terminal. It just showed a list with actions (like email, file management) and you could choose stuff to do. Those actions were mostly common tasks.
If someone knows smxi from the distribution sidux: it was something like that. I just think you could navigate with you arrow keys instead of typing letters..

Suppress writing cache files with rwrun.exe

we`re using rwrun.exe (9.0.4.2.0) with parameters to create pdf-files in a loop:

Each process write a cache file in the directory \reports\cache. Reports eats the hard disk :-(
I`ve found the EXPIRATION command in the documentation, which defines the point in time when the report output should be deleted from the cache. But this command strictly runs with rwclient.exe and reports server, but Reports server isn`t installed on our server.
Can we suppress writing cache files with rwrun.exe?

I have installed 9iDS.902 on win2000 professional,the install seem OK, but I failed to run report using command line.I typed the command in dos prompt, but got no response,the cursor just went to next line:

Hi Ray,
In 9i, the rwrun executable no longer has a GUI interface so actually, you should have gotten an error when you tried to run that command. Rwrun now acts like rwclient and starts up an in-process server. You can still use rwrun at the command line with batch=yes. If you want to use the preview, run the report through the Builder. You might want to take a look at the Obsolescence white paper on otn.

Yes. It is possible to call ur custom program using SUBMIT statement.
1. If u have data to pass then build table type RSPARAMS and use below statement.

               AND RETURN.

         I understood your requirement. What i found is, you are creating screen 500 and call it after START-OF-SELECTION,
at that time your AT USER-COMMAND doesn't work.
So what i would suggest , u should create GUI STATUS named ' PFSTAT'
having one functional key 'EXIT' that is standard u can just name it
and
other two u can assign in Freely assigned Function keys as 'BUT1' & 'BUT2'. and than in Application Toolbar u jst have it in ITEM LIST by typing BUT1 and BUT2.
For 'BUT1' text would be 'ALV' and 'BUT2' text would be 'SMARTFORMS'.
Now in Program you can code,,,
START-OF-SELECTION.
SET PF-STATUS 'PFSTAT'.
WRITE:/ 'TEST'.
at user-command.
case SY-UCOMM.
    WHEN 'BUT1'.
    WHEN 'BUT2'.

As far as I remember I had a similar problem and in my case it was due to specific font used in report definition. I did like this: first I checked if the problem persists if I use very simple report and it revealed that the problem was gone; then I started to remove parts of my report and checked if the problem shows up again. After some time I found out that one of the font was responsible - I don't know why.
