Issue with Date Conversion when loading XML File into Oracle 10g Database
Hello all,
I have the interface shown in the screenshot below. In it, amongst other actions, I'm mapping an XML file element representing a date to an Oracle table column defined as DATE. The source and target columns are highlighted in the screenshot.
!http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/1565/odiscr275.jpg!
When I execute the interface, I get the following error message:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at java.sql.Date.valueOf(Date.java:103)
I'm assuming this refers to the date conversion!
I've already tried replacing SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE with TO_DATE( SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE, 'DD/MM/YYYY' ) in the Implementation tab. This function was not recognised when I executed the interface, so it didn't work! The date value in the XML file is in DD/MM/YYYY format.
I'm guessing that Oracle SQL Date functions don't work in the Implementation tab. Please could somebody let me know:
1. Which Date Conversion function I could use instead?
2. Where I can find a reference for the methods/functions I can use in the Implementation tab (if such a reference exists)?
Cheers.
JamesHi.
Try to change the execution area to staging area. After You change it, write in the mapping box just SRC_TRADERS.DEAL_DATE. When You use TO_DATE, the source field typu should be varchar2, not date (as it is in your source datastore) -
How can I affix Data to a existing XML file?
Hallo.
I have to write Data to an XML file. This I have to in a stacked Sequence within a while loop. How can I write my Data to my existing XML file without overwriting my existing Data from the loop before?
ThanksI made the erroneous assumption that you were using your own XML creation code. The LabVIEW write to XML file VI overwrites the file every time. You can get around this behavior in a couple of ways.
Create your own write to XML VIs using the LabVIEW one as your base. The LabVIEW one write a header, writes your data, then writes the end tag. Split this up so that you open the file and write the header before your loop. During the loop, write your data. Write the end tag and close the file when you exit the loop. Don't overwrite the LabVIEW vi.lib function, or you will probably regret it. Copy it to a different location before you start your modifications.
Use the LabVIEW write to XML file for the first write of the loop. This will give you a file with a header and your first set of data. Still in the first loop iteration, reopen the file and position the file pointer on the start of the end tag (</LVData>). In subsequent loop operations, flatten your data to XML and write to the file directly using the file write primitive. When you exit your loop, write an end-of-line character and the end tag "</LVData>" and close the file.
If you need more detailed help on either of the above methods, let me know.
Out of curiosity, why are you saving your data as XML? There may be a better way to do it, depending on your application.

EC Sale list Spain - data of the payer
Dear all,
We have problems with RFASLD11B, EC Sales list report. Our financial experts tell us that in this report we should have the VAT and name of the payer. But, in the SD invoice, we have the ship-to VAT, because the taxes have to be determined depending on the ship-to.
So, in the EC Sales List we have the ship-to VAT, and it's not valid in Spain.
Can somebody hel us?

Static lookup lists:read data from a Java *.properties file
Hi
i need to make static lookup lists i am using read data from a Java *.properties file
i am using the Class "PropertyFileBasedLookupViewObjectImpl" that wrote by Steve Muench in ToyStore.
but i need to use the default language for that i update the loadDataFromPropertiesFile()
method to find the correct properties file
String temp=Locale.getDefault().getLanguage();
String propertyFile =
getViewDef().getFullName().replace('.', '/')+"_"+temp+ ".properties";
the problem:
For English(TEST_en.properties) it is good and working
For Arabic(TEST_ar.properties) read from correct file _ar.properties
but the dispaly character is wrong
When Debug
In the File 1=دمشق
In debug 1=/u32423Depending on your use case you can either use a programmatic VO or directly expose the JV class as a data control.

Hi All,
We are facing problem while uploading the .xml file in DMEE transaction for the new Customer/Vendor List for Italy.
We have followed the entire process given in the OSS Note(1090857).
We have SAP 4.6c and followed the below steps:
1. Created ID-FI-IT Development class
2. Added domains
3. Added Data elements
4. Tried to upload the given .xml file and got any error saying ".xml file could not be interpreted".
Also there is a .SAR file mentioned to upload if we receive any errors while uploading .xml file.
Tried uploading the .SAR file also. STill we are recieving the same Error.
Can any one of you help us out.
Thanks in Advance.
RameshOk, we upload .SAR file in this way:
1. unpack .SAR file with SAPCAR.EXE program. Yuo obtain 2 files
R492445.P9C and K492445.P9C
2. put K492445.P9C in directory \SAPMNT\TRANS\COFILES and put R492445.P9C in directory \SAPMNT\TRANS\DATA of your system (DEV, TST or PRD)
3. Use Tx STMS. If You want create DMEE tree in DEV system, go to DEV import queue. Choose menu Extras | Other requests | Add. Insert P9CK492445 in Transp. request field.

Data Source errors with OLE DB for Oracle
We tried to install Oracle 10g 10.2.0.1.0 x64 Client for Windows on:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition Service Pack 1 (64 bit)
SqlServer 2000 Enterprise Edition SP4 (32-bit)
When trying to create a Data Source (from a UDL file or Analysis Services) we get the following errors:
"Provider is no longer available. Ensure that the Provider is installed properly"
"Test connection failed because not all properties can be set. Window Handle (BAD VALUE)"
The Oracle Client install completed "Successfully" and ODBC connections work fine. Also, tnsping works fine. Just the OLE DB connections are failing.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JMaybe you can try the below method to configure the oracle provider for OLEDB.
1.Open SQL Server Management Studio
Click on the + to expand the tree for the <Machine Name> SQL Server. Where <Machine Name> is the name of the machine where Microsoft SQL Server is installed on.
The first level of the tree is called <Machine Name> SQL Server,
The second level of the tree is called Linked Servers,
The third level of the tree is called Providers.
a list of Providers are shown.
Right click on the Oracle Provider for OLEDB and select Properties.
Check the check boxes for "Dynamic Parameters" and "Allow InProcess". -
I have a website that uses Spry Data XML DataSet to list common pests for the current month. http://www.shspestcontrol.com/
Each month's list of pests is in a separate xml file (e.g. pests-august.xml)
Rather than manually updating the file name each month, can it be setup to automatically change the name
For instance on January 1st, file name changes to pests-january.xml, Feb 1st changes to pests-february.xml. etc.
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
var dsPests1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("xml_files/pests-august.xml", "gallery/pests/pest");
//-->
</script>
Any advice if this can be done and if so how to go about doing it would be much appreciated
Thanks, Toni<script>
var dsPests1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("pests-september.xml", "gallery/pests/pest");

List all documents types in a XML file...
Hi, i want to list all document files that are on the portal and make a XML file with result. I found the Interface Query where i can use "search" method. Is there a way to use the APIs from hyperion, i try to do a servlet and obtain a list of all document type like with NAME, DATE CREATED, TYPE, UUID, DESC, etc.. The list can be order by NAME, DATE, etc... And put the result in a XML file. Is it possible to do this with that Hyperion API, or i spend my time to find the solution with this restricted/limited APIs? And first, is there a documentation for the developpers on what we can do with API's Hyperion? The JavaDoc Hyperion just give a little bit information, nothing consisting!! Thanks in advance for any help : [email protected]!Max

Install RMS 13.1 How to add data boundaries in the ddl files for UK?
Hello Retail Gurus,
I have installed RMS 13.1 without running the partition.ksh script while installing the Retail Database for RMS and it created some sample data too, I have seen the Install Guide and especially looked at the Partitioning Steps in the Guide , Can anyone give a hint ,how the data boundaries are modified in the ddl files for UK?. Since I am a DBA i am little confused , from where to get these data? as the installation guide mentions that the RMS_partition_defintion.xls has to modified and used for a production installation combined with partition_attributes.cfg for a production installation.
Thanks in Advance
-- VivekHi Vivek,
Let's see...
UK means united kingdom of great brittain? I think there are no UK specific DDL statements related to RMS.
If you look at the installer (unpack the zips from edelivery.oracle.com for e.g. RMS 13.1), checkout the folders
V16908-01\rms_13.1_install\rms13dbschema\rms\dbschema\dbscripts_rms\examples\part
V16908-01\rms_13.1_install\rms13dbschema\rms\dbschema\dbscripts_rms\ddl\part
This contains a ksh script that is driven by a config scripts and some lists of specific partitions in folder data_def.
This partition.ksh script can recreate some table's DDL from non-partitioned to partitioned.
The mentioned XLS file can also be found in this folder and helps in setting the number of partitions and doing one dimensional or e.g. multi-dimensional (e.g. range/hash).
The whole process is explained in quite some detail in the last chapter of the merchandise implementation guide, merch-131-impg.pdf.
When your system already containts data, this should be saved and re-placed.
Please note that the indexes on partitioned tables may need partitioning too, at least some reflection on this is required and afaik the RMS installer tries to cater for this too.

How to extract data from an arbitrary xml file and export in a nice csv file?
Hallo,
I'm facing big problems in the use of XML files. I have an
application which generates XML files with clusters containing arrays
and scalars like in the example pasted below. My task is to
read it and export the data in a human-friendly CSV document.
Since I don't know the actual content of the cluster, I need some kind
of intelligent vi which goes through the XML file looking for arrays
and other data structures in order to export them properly in the CSV
format (columns with headers).
Thank you

Go to Solution.Thank you again,
I'm forwarding my vi draft with many comments and an xml file sample.
Data in cluster is stored according to the LabVIEW schema, infact it is generated by LabVIEW.
What I'm trying to do is to access the element of the cluster and read their content using the Invoke node and Property node functions. Could you give it a look, there may be something wrong, I'm not able to access cluster children.
Which funcions should I use? Could you give me an example? You may use the draft I enclosed...
Then write these data in a csv file
should be the easier part.

When I try the above CTL file; geting the following error..

SQL*Loader-951: Error calling once/load initialization
ORA-02373: Error parsing insert statement for table "XYZ"."XXXX".
ORA-00917: missing commaPossible Solutions
Make sure that the data source is valid.
Is a member from each dimension specified correctly in the data source or rules file?
Is the numeric data field at the end of the record? If not, move the numeric data field in the data source or move the numeric data field in the rules file.
Are all members that might contain numbers (such as "100") enclosed in quotation marks in the data source?
If you are using a header, is the header set up correctly? Remember that you can add missing dimension names to the header.
Does the data source contain extra spaces or tabs?
Has the updated outline been saved? -
