Safari 7 in Mavericks doesn't show movies in local file pages.

After upgrading to Mavericks, locally stored web pages with movies (type .mov, .mp4, or .m4v) do not show. I just get the "Q?" icon. Movies on Web locations (such as Apple's site) do show OK. The local web pages used to work fine before the OS upgrade, and they STILL work using Firefox and Chrome. I made sure that the Safari preferences for the Quicktime plug-in were set to "Always allow". Quicktime 7 Player (7.6.6) shows the movies OK.

Workaround: the video had been embedded as
<object type="video/quicktime" data="mov.mp4"
height=470 width=550>
</object>
I changed that -- using the HTML 5 video tag instead --
<video height=470 width=550 autoplay>
<source src="mov.mp4" type="video/mp4">
</video>
This works. Perhaps the prior syntax is deprecated?

Of course, you do have plug-ins enabled. Yes? Quick double-check? Safari -> Preferences -> Security tab -> checkmark at "Enable plug-ins"...

Mobile Safari mail link to doesn't show Exchange group

Has anyone noticed that while attempting to forward a URL from mobile Safari (iPhone/iPad), the composed message doesn't show Exchange contact groups?
If you have an Exchange contact group:
From Safari, try to Mail Link to this Page, then select the + icon in the To field in order to bring up contact groups. I haven't been able to forward a URL from Safari to an Exchange address book recipient.
Other applications do expose the Exchange group: Photos and the Mercury browser, for example.
iPhone 4 (ATT), version 4.3.3. Not sure what version of Exchange, but it's at least 2007. Windows Live group doesn't show, either, FWIW.

"All My Files" doesn't show all of my files

When I select the "All My Files" view in a Finder window, it correctly shows my files sorted by file type "Presentations", "PDF documents", "Images", etcetera. The problem is that many, if not most, of my files aren't listed.
For example, on the "PDF documents" row, the right-hand side of the Finder window says "Show all (58)" when I in fact have over 700 .PDF files. Likewise, the Finder window only shows one file of the type "Presentations" and one file of the type "Spreadsheets", even though I have almost 150 of each. If I perform a Spotlight search on ".ppt" or ".xls", all of my files show up correctly and are identified correctly by type (i.e. "Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation" or "Microsoft Exel Workbook"), so I know that Lion knows what type of files these are. So why is only one of each showing up in the "All My Files" view?
I've also noticed that the only images that show up in "All My Files" are the ones that *aren't* in iPhoto. Likewise, the only music files that show up in "All My Files" are the ones that *aren't* in iTunes, but I'm guessing that this is because I'm supposed to access those files through iPhoto or iTunes rather than through the Finder?
Any help would be appreciated. I can actually see the "All My Files" view as being a useful feature, but only if it would in fact show all of my files.

1st Gen iPad doesn't show movies imported from iTunes

When connected to iTunes the iPad shows that they're in there, but when we look on the iPad in the Videos.app there's no movies. The option is not even there. They all work fine in VLC, but that's without metadata, so it's not ideal. We have restored the software twice, from two different backups but this didn't solve the problem. Thanks for your assistance.

This my "stock" answer for this issue and I'm sure that you have tried the first thing, but take look at the second suggestion and see if that works for you.
Quit the video app and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit the app by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the video app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the video app icon to close it. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Try the app again and see if the movie is there and will play.
If that didn't work - Search for the movie. From the home screen swipe to the right and the Spotlight Search feature will appear. Type the name of the movie in the field at the top, if the movie shows up in the search, tap on the icon and hopefully it will begin to play. Let it play for a few minutes then tap Done. Return to the video app and see if it is in there now.

This work fine and show the search result. Now I've customized the Search Result Page, but it seems that wwsbr_search_api is navigating to a standard (fixed layout) search result screen (square item/folder links in stead of tabs) and not to my customized Search Result Page. If I click the submit button in the result screen then it navigates to my customized Search Result Page.
So why doesn't wwsbr_search_api navigate to the customized Search Result Page, or am I doing something wrong ?

Latest Firefox doesn't show google adds on my pages.

On www.alternativa.hr no Google adss are shown and Facebook and Google+ extensions doesn't work as well.... On other browsers and on older versions of Firefox, no such problem - everything works just fine.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

Hi all, My first post here, so please bear with me. After I received my EX2 I've been looking for an easy way to provide friends and family with access to my NAS so they can up/download vacation pictures and movies without having to install anything. While logged in as admin, I'm able to do all the stuff I want to under Apps --> Web File Viewer. Browse all folders, up/download, rename, etc. But when I'm logged in as another user, I'm not able to even see the shared folders. There's absolutely nothing under the Web File Viewer tab. It only loads for a short while (please wait shows up) and then the site is blank. DVD burn has SATURATED reds, yellow font doesn't show well as iMovie file

hello all. I am burning a DVD for a film festival submission and I am running across a color problem. I am on a PowerMac G5 last version running 10.4.11 using Toast to burn a DV or MOV file of the movie. the result is a DVD where all the reds come out in the picture. The actors faces have visibly more red in them. Yellow fonts for the credits do not show well. The iMovie project and DV and QT files all look great. Can anyone help on something I may be doing wrong? This is for a film festival submission, the film has a great chance to make it, and this burn makes it look terrible. HELP!

Help! "Select Volumes to Mount" doesn't show G5's local drives

Hello all,
After months of successfully connecting to a computer's hard drive on my local network through the "Connect to Server" function in the Finder, I've recently started having problems.
When I connect, I log in as a registered user on that computer that has administrative privilages. Up until a couple of days ago, I would see 4 available shares: the two user accounts home folders on the G5 and its two internal SATA hard drives. I used to connect directly to the secondary hard drive and store file on it. Now, the two hard drives don't appear in the "Select Volumes to mount" dialogue, and all I have are the two user folders to choose from.
Does anyone have any idea what may have happened? I do know that an external Firewire drive I had hooked up to the computer has been behaving funny recently (freezing the system, etc.) but I disconnected it and the sharing problem didn't resolve itself. It's probably unrelated, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I Have similar trouble: I have a ethernet network with a number of macs which I regularly sync with each other
I came up with a peculiar behavior of the type you describe: When I connect to either computer with an administrator pass, I cannot access any other user than my own; volumes on the other hand mount ok.
If I now login with a user that doesn't have administrator privileges, I can't access the volumes on the mac but CAN access ALL users... seems absurd!
I wish apple had a built in filtering system in prefs whereby you could determine who could access what drives from what location with which user (kind of built in security filtering you have in airport & wireless networks

Place panoramic window in Acrobat but it doesn't show if converted to a page flip brochure

I am using Acrobat to insert a swf file of a 360 degree window so a user can view a room all around. This can be added to a PDF document no problems but I would like to convert the document to a page turning brochure. I have tried converting the document with the swf file in the PDF but it is not showing in the page flip brochure.
Does anybody know if this is possible or reasons why it is not working or can be corrected.
