Safari Colormanagement on Vista

I downloaded Safari because one have told me that this browser is color managed but I recogniced that the colors are exactely as wrong as they are with IE.
It seems that Safari use my monitor profil (as IE) instead of SRGB.
I`m using a wide gamut monitor thats why this is very disturbing.
Can anybody tell me were I can find the settings in Safari for colormanagement if there are settings or what I make wrong. PS and other color managed applications show the colors correct.

You are in the iSync forum. You should probably post this question in the Safari 3 for Windows forum.

  • Safari on WIndows Vista...HELP!

    Hey,
I just download Safari yesterday because I heard it is now available for Windows!
But so far I'm "OK" with it but I still like IE 7. There is one problem I'm having is the "JavaScript". Every web site that I been to require "JavaScript" or "Adobe Flash Player" it doesn't works!
    Error on YouTube:
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.
    Error on Myspace:
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player.
My JavaScript is not "turned off"!!!! It works just fine on IE 7!
Anybody know how to make JavaScript works on Safari for WIndows Vista?!
    Thanks in advance! :-D

Wow! 3 mouse-clicks and a plug-in too hard? I didn't realise Windows had become so easy.
Though I am surprised Apple don't include common media plugins (Safari or Quicktime) as part of the install to send the 'easy' message.

  • Can't Download Safari $ on Windows Vista

I click "Download Safari 4" and it goes to a new page that says "Thank You For Downloading Safari 4" but Safari 4 isn't downloaded on my machine.

I am having all kinds of trouble with 10g XE on Vista Ultimate 64-bit. The first time I tried to install it caused a blue screen during the service registry, causing me to have to manually delete the services (sc delete from the command line) before reinstalling. The second time it states that it installed successfully, but now it is missing most of the essential files like EXPRESS.DBF, SYSTEM.DBF, CONTROL.DBF etc. so I cannot mount the database. I tried running XE.bat manually but it complains that these files are missing. I googled on how to create these, but most are restore oriented. What I read describes running commands to create them from the database, but since I don't have a database mounted I am out of luck. I think I will uninstall and try to reinstall one more time tonight. Wish me luck! :)

  • Please Help!  I need the latest version of Safari for Windows Vista

      Hey Guys!
I don't recall it being so difficult to upgrade Safari on my computer.  I have Windows Vista and I love Safari!  But every where I go it is telling me that "this site is not supported by your current browser, please upgrade"
No problem.  Except it is!   I use to be able pop over to Apple and upgrade but now it only gives you the choice to upgrade a Mac.  Please don't tell me that I can't use Safari any longer on  Windows Vista.....

I knew someone was going to ask me why I still have Vista!   My computer works great with no problems!   I have had this HP Mini for over four years and not one problem!
    Until now:(
       Thank You!

  • Safari on Windows Vista doesn't function very well

I recently installed Safari web browser on my Windows Vista OS. I tried it a few minutes and soon it didn't function anymore. When I use any of the buttons in Safari, the programme gets stuck and Vista reports an error and closes Safari automatically. I can only use it to browse websites; that's it. I cannot add bookmarks or anything else. Oh yes, I can change some settings too. I reinstalled it several times and rebooted my system. None of these has helped this problem away. Does anyone has some suggestions?
(ps I know my English isn't that good at all. I live in Belgium you see...)

I was able to install, but in my corporate environment where we use Microsoft ISA server as a Proxy I get prompted for my credentials and then the browser crashes hard.

  • OT: Safari for XP/Vista

Apple has just released Safari 3 public beta web browser for
    Windows
    XP/Vista.
I just installed it and it is fast. But I wonder if the page
    rendering on
PC is really the same as on a Mac. Anybody with dual OSs care
    to compare
    the two?
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
    --Nancy O.

Thanks for that confirmation. Additionally, I've found it
    ignores
<acronyms>. It ignores the print page form buttons on
    iframed pages.
Browser window isn't resizable except for min & max -
    nothing in between. It
doesn't open local files easily and is thus useless for
    previewing pages
from DW. And it's been hacked so security isn't what they
    claim.
Honestly, I had no interest in using this as my default
    browser. Was just
wanting to know if it would be reliable for cross browser
    testing of web
    sites. Evidently not.

  • Safari for Windows Vista 32 Bit Ultimate

Installation went fine, trying to run it... no way!
it shows Report error and close ... it wont even load !

I installed it on Windows XP Pro. The browser came up in junk characters! Has any testing really been done on Windows at all before unleashing this mutt out the door? Here's a screenshot: http://sniptools.com/toolsreviews/apple-safari-beta-for-windows

  • How to download mac version safari on a vista pc?

Apple website keeps automatically making me download a windows version of safari - how do i download the mac version?
    thank you

    Hi,
I assume you mean for Leopard 10.5? If so, try this:

  • Safari 3 - Dual-monitor problem.

I've just installed Safari on Windows Vista Business. When I move the windows on my secondary monitor, a soon as I try to maximize it, it desappear. The program is still in my taskbar, but I can't minimize or anything. The options are greyed-out. The only thing I can do is to kill Safari and restart it.
Is anyone has experiencing the same problem ?
    DELL Inspiron 6000   Windows Vista

I've just tested Safari on a multihead Windows XP system and suffered the same problem. Display 1 is laptop primary display, and display 2 is configured to the left of laptop display and is an external LCD.
If you right click on the Safari button in the TaskBar and select Move, the cursor appears at the top left hand corner of display 2, and I think I can see a one pixel edge down the left hand side of display 2 that may be the Safari window. It starts a few pixels down from the top left and appears to be black 1px wide, and when you close Safari it disappears.

  • .url files launch in IEplorerer instead of Safari

.url files launch in IExplorer instead of Safari, how can I fix it. I try to associate .url file (Internet Shortcut) to Safari, but windows vista does not let me change the Default Program (Internet Explorer. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I think the programs like to manage these settings, instead of manually changing the File Associations.
Start IE and click Tools -> Options. Set it as your default.
Then open Safari and it should ask you. Click Yes.
Not sure why the file associations are ignored.

  • Acid2 Test - Vista Yes, XP No . . . Hmmm . . .

Interesting. The Acid2 Test works in Safari with Windows Vista, but has problems in Safari with Windows XP. Until I saw the Acid2 Test in Safari with Windows Vista, Acid2 only rendered 100% corrrect with Opera.
    http://www.webstandards.org/files/acid2/test.html
Hope some Apple developers see this.

i already metioned (somewhere in the second paragraph) that i installed ALL the toshiba drivers
and i'd also like to mention another thing: the first time i installed WXP, it did not recognize the bluetooth, and i had to make it search for bluetooth drivers on the net.
Since the drivers page does not have them (windows eventually found them).
Since the second WXP install, the system does not see the bluetooth at all... :(

  • Preview in Safari Beta for Win not working

    Hello All,
    Anyone else having this problem?
I installed the new Safari beta for Windows (xp) and added it
to my Preview in Browser list in Dreamweaver, pointing it to
safari.exe, but when I try to preview, Safari opens and displays
the home page, not my Dreamweaver project page.
    Any thoughts,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
Safari beta for win has a number of problems. Loading local
    pages is one of
them. I found if I preview in another browser like FF from DW
    and then copy
and paste the page URL into Safari it works sometimes. Search
    this newsgroup
    for "OT: Safari for XP/Vista"

  • Safari 5 on different Windows versions?

I use Safari 5 on Windows XP. Works great! I'm a fan of the font rendering (because of my displays), but I also like the Top Sites feature, the Reader feature, the Web Inspector, too many to mention.
Anyone running Safari 5 on Vista or Windows 7 without any problems? I see a lot of posts about Safari crashing, but usually it's their PC or the installation, or they didn't reboot, or something.
I'll try it on Vista and Windows 7 in the next few, but I hope it's running OK. Anyone have any good stories on Vista or Win7?

Web Inspector works, but it is now part of the Safari window (not a new window). I can't undock it.
The URL bar has a new loading background, and the Reader button is also on the bar. It usually shows the RSS button; the Reader button replaces the RSS button if it is 'available' for that web page.

  • Why is safari, on my pc, showing funny writing on facebook?

I'm using Safari on my Vista PC. Everything else works fine, However when opening facebook . com the homepage looks messed up. Can anyone lend an idea as to what this is?
    Thanks for your help.

Safari for Windows was discontinued a few years ago. It's no longer standards or security compliant.  You're better off using another browser

  • Safari + WMV = error

    Hello,
I've got a weird problem with Safari 3.0.4. I wanted to play wmv in safari, so I installed wmv firefox plugin, but safari couldn't find it. I tried to reinstall Safari and plugin with no luck. The I installed Firefox and that resolved this problem - don't know why but Safari now sees wmv plugin. But... the problem is.. whenever I try to open a web page with wmv video or wma audio I get an error message with title: "EVR Fullscreen Window: Windows - Bad Image" and information "Exception Processing Message 0xc000007b Parameters 0x000007FEFDBE75C 0x000007FEFDBE75C 0x000007FEFDBE75C 0x000007FEFDBE75C". FF and IE open those web pages without problems. The worst thing is that when Safari triggers this error, I get this error message whenever I open Computer or IE. I have to restart my computer to get rid of this error message.
PS. I'm using Vista x64, maybe that's the problem?

Hmm now I'm sure that the problem lies in Safari combined with Vista x64, cause I reinstalled vista, then I installed only the necessary drivers, firefox, safari and this wmv plugin mentioned on the http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html and the error still shows up when I try to play a wmv video inside a web page. Firstly I installed Safari, then I checked the "installed plug-ins" link and there was no entry from something like windows media plugin. Then I installed wmv plugin and still no sign of plugin in "installed plug-ins" in Safari, next I installed Firefox and reinstalled this wmv plugin and voila - safari detects wmv plugin used by Firefox, but... while Firefox is playing wmv videos without a problem, Safari shows this "Bad Image" error. The only difference now is that the error message has changed to " is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support". Too bad that this message doesn't tell me which program to reinstall...
PS. Compatibility setting makes no difference - error always shows up... I think I'll stick to Safari on my iBook only... and I'll use Opera instead on my PC box...
