Most probably a corrupted structure. An IDML is actually a ZIP file, containing many different file types. The ZIP itself could be damaged or one of the files inside. Not easy or even impossible to fix that. Sorry, don't know how.

Pdf arrives via email that I can not open and I can read the following description "Can not open document- The file may be corrupted."
If I put the mail with the pad to another pc the document is readable, printable, etc. If I open my mail with Ipad pdf is usable.

Salve ho appena aggiornato a Mavericks ma, purtroppo, con il mio macbook air 11" da 2 GB non riesco ad aprire Mail, App Store, iBooks, e Mappe. Qualcuno può aiutarmi?

Well, what actually is the file supposed to contain if it doesn't display anything? What are your local security settings? Are you sure the fiel was actually properly sent and encoded on the other end?
