Same project, 2 PC's

I want to be able to develop on two different PC's the same Labview project.  The machine that actually runs the program doesn't have a network connection.  Is there an easy way to transfer projects back and forth?  If I choose File>Save As... and try duplicating the project, it gets messy and doesn't really work anyway because the location of your dependencies starts changing and you'd have to manually copy folders.  If version control software is the only real way then what's the most painless one to use with Labview?  Thanks.

I think I agree with Natasftw, particularly if you do all of your development work from the Flash Drive.  I may be restating an earlier opinion (I apologize in advance if so), but if one of your Development machines is networked, you can "have your cake and eat it, too" by making the Flash Drive be the SVN "Working Copy".  Let's say you have the Latest Version on the Flash Drive, but nothing (yet) in Version Control.
Plug in to Networked Computer.  Build Repository to hold Working Copy (on Flash Drive).  Get Working Copy installed in SVN Repository.
Disconnect Flash Drive from Networked Computer.  Current State -- Working Copy has been committed to SVN.
Plug Flash Drive into Isolated Computer.  Make modifications to Working Copy.  Unplug.
Plug Flash Drive into Networked Computer.  Before making modifications, Commit (adding notes about changes made on Isolated Computer).
Modify Working Copy (Flash Drive) on Networked Computer.  Commit, with notes about Networked Computer modifications.  Unplug Flash Drive.
The code stays on the Flash Drive during development.  Modifications are only made to Flash Drive (Working Copy).  When plugged into Networked PC, commits are done first, then code, then commit, then unplug.  If anything happens to Flash Drive (like you lose it), simply plug a new drive into Networked Computer and do a Checkout.
Now that I think about this, I've actually done something like this once or twice, but was always very nervous doing development on a machine without access to SVN ...

Oh yeah.  You get so used to being able to back up your stuff when you want that it's scary when you can't.

  • Can two different members of Creative Cloud, to share the same project?

I work with a partner who also has a Creative Cloud account. If we need work in the same project, how can she access to my web accounts from her computer  and viceversa?

    Yep,
Two ways, you can either add the other person as a user or contact support and they can add the other account to your site.

  • Can two users work on different files of the same project?

Sorry if this has been asked already...but can two users work
on different files of the same project? How would that work? Would
    it work something like this?
    1. From RoboHelp 7, user A checks out the entire project.
    2. User A checks in the files they are not working with.
    3. User B checks out the project but can only 'edit' the
files that have been checked in by user A.
Is this how the source control works?

That's the basic idea. User A doesn't actually have to check
out the whole project, though. RSC will selectively check out only
the files that are actually getting changed. Both writers will have
a complete copy of the project on their local machines, but the
files are read-only until they are literally checked out, which is
on an as-needed basis unless the writer explicitly checks them out.

  • How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?

OK...this is a probably a very basic question but I'm not sure how to word it clearly.
How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project? What I mean is that I have a bout 50 minutes of video and I want to make two DVDs using different clips from this original 50 minutes of footage. It would be a real pain to have to re-import the video AGAIN for the second DVD. I suppose I could drop anything I don't want to burn to DVD back into the clips pane but that would wipe out all my transitions wouldn't it? I want to save each project in their “raw” form so I can burn additional DVDs later otherwise I would just do them one at a time and not care about one of them being destroyed.
Wow...that was a mess. Does anyone understand what the heck I’m asking? I hope so.

How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?
You can't. You make separate projects using the same or different clips, segments, transitions, titles, etc. You can even duplicate the first project and then modify/make the desired changes in the duplicated project. Each project can then be burned as a different DVD or as different titles on the same DVD if there is enough room.

  • Can an editor and I work on the same project, at the same time in PPCC?

I'm trying to figure out if two people can edit a project in live time... I'm currently struggling with the 20gb cloud limit for my projects and I think I'm just going to bring an in house editor into the mix.
Can he and I edit the same project from a NAS drive?
    ---Trav

As far as I know, "regular" Premiere Pro does not have any provision for the kind of file locking/unlocking required for 2 people to edit the same project... so if YOU save an edit and your other person saves after you, your edit is going to be overwritten and lost

  • Can two different account work on the same project?

I work for a non-profit organization and we are think about switching platform for our website, we are looking in to Muse, our graphic designer already have a Adobe Muse account and we would like to get an other account for the organization, will it be possible for both our account to work on the same project? With an account we can only have two computer with Muse and there will be 3 working on the website.

    Hi Alexandre,
At any given point not more than one person can work on a .muse file. Muse is not yet designed for a workflow like this. You can update the .muse file using three different accounts as long as the file is not opened at more than one end at the same time and the file needs to be shared manually in between the accounts once one person is done working on it.

  • Use multiple themes in the same project?

I'm making a slideshow in iMovie 09. It consists of approx. 200 pictures. Those 200 pics are then broken down into 5 distinct groups. I've applied the Scrapbook theme to the first 40 pictures. I tried to apply a different theme (Filmstrip) to the next 30 pictures. When I did that, however, it changed the theme for the original 40 pictures to Filmstrip as well.
Am I able to use multiple themes within the same project? I don't think its possible.
Is my solution to make the 5 sections of the slideshow in iMovie 09 using a different theme for each section? I'd export as a movie file and then create the final slideshow that would consist of the 5 movies previously made (each with a different theme).
Thanks in advance. This project is due in 3 weeks.
    Martin

This is not possible in iMovie (to use multiple themes).
However, you can do this using your idea of joining multiple movies into one. You can do this with QuickTime Pro, or with MPEG Streamclip. [Here is a video Tutorial by venerable forum member Jon Walker|http://web.me.com/jrwalker4/QuickNotes/MPEGStreamclip/Entries/2008/5/25_Tutorial015.html] which shows the MPEG Streamclip option.

  • Use a sequence template multiple times in same project

I have created a lower-third animated title and saved it as a sequence as it has sound. What I'm confused about it how I import that sequence and use it multiple times in the same project and change the content of the title for each sequence. If I import the sequence and change the title in one instance, it changes the title of all instances. I would like to use the sequence and be able to change each title. I have even tried copying sequences and renaming them but any editing still seems to affect the parent sequence file.
I know this must be really simple but I'm going round in circles here. Any pointers appreciated.

Take a look at this thread:
    style sheets for titles?
I'm not sure if an AFX Live text will bring over the audio, it is not something I have tried.

  • How to work on the same project on two machines at the same time and also exchange progress seamlessly using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014?

We are working on a film project on Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014. Two editors are working on the same film project (same pproj file ) on two machines. As a result the bin structure and the file structure is exactly the same. We even bought two licenses for the respective machines to make matters simple (at least we thought it would).
Now when we share a sequence between the two machines, every time we have to import and re-link media. Also each sequence import comes with its own set of files, which are actually already present in the project. Basically the new sequences are looking to re-link the media to the original/ source files only and are completely ignoring the file structure present in the project.
In all editing softwares, timeline/ sequence sharing is a very common practise when working on multiple machines. Why is it so tedious in CC 2014? Every time we share a sequence between the two machines the media gets doubled and tripled in the project. As a result the project file size is increasing perpetually. Already Premiere CC 2014 is extremely laggy and slow, and this stupid bug is making it more difficult for us to finish our work on time.
Has anybody ever faced this issue? How do we solve it? We are willing to try out any workflow that you can suggest.

Concurrently working on the same project it requires a specific implementation in all editing programs like Avid's Unity/ ISIS shared storage. That's what you are simply not considering. none of your issues would be any problem if your projects resided on a commonly accessed server or something like that. Check respective hardware solutions.

you can't, GB is restricted to a single time signature per project
however, the time sig is really more cosmetic, it doesn't affect the way the project plays back, so you could set the project to 2/4 when working on the 2/4 parts, and 3/4 when working on the 3/4 parts

  • Is there a way to add multiple trailers to the same project?

Is there a way to have more than one trailer in the same project?  I can copy the video from a trailer into another project but cannot copy the soundtrack.

Probably the Easiest way would be to create each Trailer that you wanted to eventually combine separately. Then export each one using the Share Menu > Export Movie... (save as Large size to the Desktop). Then combine each one of these by importing them back into iMovie and stitching them together by dragging them into a New Project.

  • I would like to import two different cf cards from two different cameras into the same project/folder and have them be in order of the times they were taken, is there a trick?

I would like to import two different cf cards from two different cameras into the same project/folder and have them be in the order of the times they were taken, any ideas on how to do this?

Just import them normally and sort the project by date. They will fall into place. If you tried this and it isn;t happening then make sure the data and times on the two cameras are identical and make sure you are sorting by date and time and nothing else.

  • Different zoom levels for different clips in the same project?

    Hi
I am making a movie with videos from two different cameras. As a result some of the clips are cut down in size to a small portion of the screen. This can be solved if it is possible to use different zoom levels for different clips in the same project. I have not been able to do this. Is it possible?
    kind regards
    Soren

You can scale the small clips up to the same size of the larger one... but you will get a quality loss.
Using Motion or Scale to Frame Size commands
Better to scale the large ones down to a Sequence that matches the smaller clip dimensions.

The required jar file is <b>servlet.jar</b>, this is present on your server under

  • I would like to save footage to a hard drive and stiill be able ot edit the footage. I would like to reuse the cards on the  same project. Is this a sensible option. Camera JVC  GY-HM100

Hello I wonder if anyone would be able to help.
I have a JVC GY-HM100. I have footage from a ongoing project saved on SDHC cards. I want to save money by reusing the cards while i carry on working on the same project.  I wondered if I could save the footage from the SDHC card too a hard drive ; delete the footage from the cards and reuse them. would i still be able to edit the footage stored on the hard drive alongside the footage which will be imported straight from the camera..  I have heard that this camera works well with final cut pro but if the info is saved to a hard drive first and subsequent footage is straight from the camra and SDHC cards will it work or is it a false economy to reuse the cards.
    Hope that makes sense
