Sample Adapter Migration from PI 7.0 to 7.1

Hi All,
i want to migrate the 7.0 Sample Adapter to 7.1. I followed the instructions written in the paper
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0667f56-96c7-2b10-0e9a-c40fbd523f4d
But i get the following error message in the message-monitoring, after sending a xml:
Message could not be forwarded to the JCA adapter. Reason: class com.sap.aii.af.sample.adapter.ra.XIMessageRecordImpl:sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.sample.adapter.ra @ com.sap.engine.boot.loader.ResourceMultiParentClassLoader @ 5ab9f6b4 @ alive incompatible with interface com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.Message:interface:com.sap.aii.af.ms.ifc @ com.sap.engine.boot.loader.ResourceMultiParentClassLoader @ 7d9ab9c5 @ alive
Thanks in advance
Regards Christoph

This paper is intended to show, how the sample adapter 7.1 can be used to migrate a customer adapter 7.0 to 7.1
It is not useful to help the migration of the sample adapter itself. For migration you have to compare sample adapter 7.0 and 7.1 to see the changes.

Hi Christain,
Thanks for the information
I received a new version of that certificate to be sure that was not a problem of version .
I imported it in old system ( version 7.0 ) in a new keystore , I did the same thing on the new system ( PI 7.11).
The scenario works in the old system with that keystore and not in the new system (7.11).
The only one log I found is the log which is in the begining of my post.
Kind Regards

• Issue while migrating from File to DB based repository for SAP adapter

Hi
I recently migrated from file based repository to DB based repository.

Thread[Thread-6,6,main] [info ] Repository URL 'jdbc:oracle:thin:@db_host:1521/fmwdbqa' resolved to repositoty type: oracle
But when I restarted the weblogic server I observed that it is again reading from the file repository.

Hi Manoj
I checked the web.xml under MW_HOME/Oracle_SOA1/soa/thirdparty/ApplicationAdapters/iwafjca.war/WEB-INF folder. The iway.jndi is set to below :
<param-name>iway.jndi</param-name>
<param-value>eis/OracleJCAAdapter/DefaultConnection</param-value>
I checked the outbound connection settings from Admin console under below path
Home >Summary of Deployments >iwafjca > configuration
I can see that the properties IWayRepoURL, IWayRepoUser and IWayRepoPassword are set to blank here. Where exactly are these property values picked from ? Or do I need to manually edit it here in admin console itself?

• ABAP Adaption while migrating from Windows to Unix

Dear All,
I am working on a project where SAP system has been migrating from Windows to Unix os. Because of this all ABAP which are using Files, Operating system command has to be adapted as well.
How can I get such a list of ABAP objects which will be affected by this migration.
Example I can look for Dataset command, External OS Commands and so on..
Please advice if there is a straight forward way to get such a list?
Your prompt response would be higly appreciated.

• HT4889 Am I wrong or does Migration Assistant not work in Mountain Lion (10.8.2) when migrating from a PowerPC running Tiger (10.4.11)? Apple really needs to get on the ball or face losing people buying their new desktop products.

The title alone speaks to my frustration about this issue.
Used the process that was recommended by Apple to migrate from my "Lampshade" iMac (PPC running 10.4.11) to the new iMac (Intel running 10.8.2) and I got bupkiss...
Just a spinning wheel (not beachball) and no drive recognized using Migration Assistant for both nor when using Target Mode on the iMac running 10.4.11 and Migration Assistant on the iMac running 10.8.2. Which is ironic, or more accurately oxymoronic, since the iMac in Target Mode (10.4.11) is recognized on the desktop of the iMac running 10.8.2 but not in the Migration Assistant. And before you can misdiagnose..it is not the Thunderbolt connection since I have the Apple recommended Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter and also used the Firewire 400 to 800 cable to expedite the transfer.
On a personal note...
I'm not bashing Apple for this...they are "head and shoulders" above the competition in what they do but I've been burned a few times so I feel I can share a small bit of loyal customer advice...I understand your iOS and mobile products hold huge sway in company focus and market-share but I find it a tad unwise to slack on the desktop applications. I don't recall any app for the iPhone/iPad family being made on the iPhone/iPad...only from desktop applications if I recall correctly. And how can I clearly "Move my Mac even further ahead" as your marketing states when I can't even migrate my files from my old Mac to my new one in a simple fashion as per your instructions?
I thank anyone in advance with an answer or even a workaround for this issue and please have a great day.

Migration from Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger to OS X Lion
Migration from Mac OS X v10.4 computers to OS X Lion over your Wi-Fi or a wired network is not supported. However, if both Macs are equipped with a FireWire port, you can use Target Disk Mode to transfer your data:
Verify that both Macs are equipped with a FireWire port. Note that different model Macs may have different FireWire connectors, which will require an appropriate cable, such as FireWire 400 to FireWire 800.
On the Mac you want to transfer data from, Restart, and immediately hold the T key.
Wait for the FireWire logo to appear on the screen. If it does not, restart and try again.
Connect both Macs via the FireWire cable.
On the Mac you want to transfer data to, Open the Migration Assistant application.
Select the option "From another Mac, PC, Time Machine backup, or other disk" and click Continue.
Select the option "From a Time Machine backup or other disk" and click Continue.
Select your other Mac's volume, such as "Macintosh HD", from the list, and click Cont
EDIT: Actually I realize you did follow these directions and if your drive is seen on the new Mac it should work. You're entitled to free Apple support with the new purchase, I'd give them a call.

I'll venture that your problem here is that you're using two very different versions of Mac OS X. The USB adapter has been useful to me when making big downloads or while using other networks, but it might not be your case.
Here's what I would advise, though it may be less than stellar: Copy the files you need into folders and move them through a USB flash drive or using that external hard drive of yours. (Could the format be the reason your MBA can't see it?). Some stuff like calendars and contacts can be exported too. At least in Lion, I haven't used Tiger in a while.
Good luck.

• Migration from OAS 10g to Weblogic 10.3

Hello,
I migrate large app from OAS 10g to Weblogic 10.3.
1.
The main part of the job was to prepare descriptors for Weblogic. Unfortunatelly I don't find any tool that could do the job:( There are some problems with descriptors namespaces. This schema and namespaces given in 10.3 docs are not working (not available):
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/ejb/DD_defs_reference.html
So I use the one from 10 release in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:
weblogic-ejb-jar xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0/weblogic-ejb-jar.xsd">
and form 9 release in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml:
<weblogic-rdbms-jar xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/weblogic-rdbms20-persistence.xsd">
There are also some bugs in docs about ejb relations.
After fixing some schema compliance exc this step success.
2. Next the EJBComplianceChecker - its much more restrictive than OAS verification. So updates in ejb interfaces are necessary. It is not a problem with small app but when there ale a lot of code/branches to migrate it's become a problem. I have been looking for some switch that could help with this but with no result/
EJBComplianceChecker - Spec veryfication level
3. Now after EJB compliance checker done its job with success I have an exception that I do not understand:
An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
Exception
preparing module: EJBModule(corpo_ejb.jar)

Could you please give me some point where the problem could be? I don't have any idea where to start looking for..
What are your experiences with migrations from OAS to Weblogic 10?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Stoigniew Sztank,
I am working on migrating Enterpirse application developed using Struts, Ejb2.0, JMS. Its been deployed on OAS 10G and Websphere, but I need to deploy the application on Weblogic 10.3. It seems you have migrated a J2ee application from OAS 10G to Weblogic 10.3. Please can you list me the steps that you followed to migrate the application.
As per my understanding follwing things needsto be taken care of:-
1) Weblogic Descriptor files:
1.1 Weblogic.xml:- we added security roles and ejb-reference-description for the ejbs.
1.2 Weblogic-ejb-jar.xml for all the ejbs used in the application.
1.3 Weblogic-application.xml
1.4 Resource Adapter
2) JMS queue set up
3) JDBC set up
It would be a great help if you can let me know what are the steps to migrate the application.
Thanks and Regards

• Forms Migration from 4.5 to 10g

Hi ,
I want to migrate my forms from 4.5 to 10g so i did following steps:
1. Installed Developer suite 10g
2. Took a sample form developed in 4.5 and comiled it in 10g builder utilized the
sample.fmx file for 10g the test was successful ,
I need to migrate a complete application developed in 4.5 forms to 10g and I have
some existing libraries which I use in my forms , now i'm stuck how to utilize them for
10g as whenever I open the forms in 10g builder it asks me to remove the library.
Can please anyone inform me how to utilze the my own user built libraries and esp .
how to repalce D2KWUTIL with WebUtil and is the way i'm approaching for migartion
correct ?
Thanks.
Jonty.

Hi ,
Thanks for the reply ,
but still i'm not clear how to utilize my libraries as even if i migate to Forms 6i
which in turn also supports D2KWUTIL ,so how to utilize Webutil instead of
D2WUTIL while migrating from 6i to 10g.
Is there any document or paper in suport to it.

Hi,
Changing the the network adapter to VMXNET 3 before switch version might cause this issue.
Could you please try the following:
- restore the vm using the working vmx file (with the existing network adapter)
- Upgrade to 10.5 and do a switch version
- Then power off the vm and change the the network adapter to VMXNET 3

• Migrating from MacBook to new MacBook Pro

My current model is MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and new model is 15" MacBook Pro. Old one has firewire 400, new has firewire 800. I think I might need a 6 pin to 9 pin firewire cable ?? to migrate my stuff but the cable sold at Apple Store seems to be failing after a few months according to a number of reviews. Is there another alternative?

Thanks for the link. I found an adapter at OWC that should work. I have an OWC firewire drive with both 400, 800 firewire and USB 2.0. I have a bootable clone of my MacBook on that drive. Would it work to plug the OWC drive into my new MacBook Pro and migrate from the clone? That way I could use the 9 pin to 9 pin cable I already have.

• Fast migration from MacBook Pro to MacBook Air

Hello
I have ordered a MacBook Air and will migrate from my battered MBP15 mid-2009. I understand the process and software sides well but I have two hardware questions:
1) Migrating to an SSD
Folk wisdom when migrating to a spinning hard disk is to start with applications because they will install on hte outside of the disk first and will therefore read faster. Obviously SSD not being a spinning device this doesn't apply but are there similar tips to extract maximum performance from an SSD?
2) Using Thunderbolt on the MBA
I cannot use the MBA's ethernet/USB adapter because my USB port is broken on the MBP15. I have looked everywhere for Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 or even 400 adapters and none are for sale (even if Apple claims they are as at teh bottom of this page ...
So I'm stuck using over the air migration... One thing I have thought about can be as follows:
- Start up MBP15 in T mode
- Wire it to a FW800 drive with multiple interfaces
- Hook the drive to the MBA. With a bit of luck both volumes should mount
Anybody has used something similar? Other ideas?
Many thanks
François

Thanks for the tips. There is actually a 3rd question...
I was thinking of doing a clean install as I have not done one for almost 10 years! I have issues of general speed, probably lots of junk files and specifically Safari bringing my machine to a complete stop (uninstalling/reinstalling has done nothing). It would obviously be faster to use setup assistant first to install the apps and then do a manual migration of my user files.
How confident should I be that the apps migration will be 'clean' and that a lot of the garbage will be left behind?
Also, what are those Gigs of 'other files' which are neither apps nor user data? - Obviously fonts, but what else? Worth migrating or leave behind (and then search manually)?
I am asking because I did a true clean install last month and it took about a week until I had full confidence that nothing had been missed...

Re: Migrate from JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2

• How to test the sample adapter code on PI 7.1?

Hi,
I would like to test the sample adapter on PI 7.1.
I followed these explanations:
/people/gowtham.kuchipudi2/blog/2006/01/04/testing-sample-adapter
How-to deploy Sample Adapter in PI 7.1
but I still can't get things working.
The com.sap.aii.adapter.sample.ra.jar file I retrieved from the server doesn't contain any ra.xml file so I took the SampleRA.xml I found in the sample_ra.jar file fetched from a PI 7.0 server.
I used this XML file content to fill the adapter metadata in the integration repository.
The sample adapter is deployed and its JNDI name is
deployedAdapters/com.sap.aii.adapter.sample.ra/shareable/com.sap.aii.adapter.sample.ra
I don't know where to put this information in the metadata.
As a result my sender and receiver communication channels are said to be running in the runtime work bench but there is no message thrown when I put the expected file in the source directory.
The sender communication channel stays blind.
Could someone help me?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Olivier

Hi,
Thanks for your answer but there is no sample_ra.rar file on my PI 7.1 server.
Instead I have a com.sap.aii.adapter.sample.ra.jar file that is located at

• Error in Service designer with sample adapter

Hi all,
I try to use SampleAdapter. When I create a master service based on Sample Adapter (wich is correctly in the classptah on the server). I received the following message : The Master Service does not have an adapter definition.
I ignore it and I create an alias for this Master service. I test it in request manager and the service created with the sample adapter work ??
What can I do to supress error message in Service Designer ?
Thanks

Vasanthakumar,
in my previous experiences with internal/external parties communication, I've found out that the best practice is to create an integration scenario and then create the configuration scenario from scenario wizard. It is much simpler and easier.
Briefly, you'll have to create a dummy party/service in order to "wrap" your internal system, since the external party should not receive information regarding internal systems (Business system name, for example).
Regards,
Henrique.
