Sample BPEL processes

I want to know where are the sample BPEL processes located. There are some samples that are in dev kit but they are all invoked from Workflow to do some other operation not related to OCS.

In 10.1.2.0.2 of BPEL, I believe there was an Apache AXIS version conflict that was possible when BPEL server-side classpath was modified to include the Content Services stubs and axis supporting libraries.
That was the reason I believe why we packaged these libraries individually with every project - at the expense of a much longer deploy time.
With SOA suite 10.1.3.1, the BPEL team removed their AXIS dependency - and thus I believe these jar files now can be included directly in the server classpath - thus preventing the need to deploy these with every project.
You may want to confirm this with guys on the BPEL forum though
cheers
Matt.

    I do the same thing.
    Take wsdl from axis and save it somewhere.
    Then you can create a standard project in Oracle BPEL PM. Create partnerlink, give a name and click on first icon to take your wsdl. It will add some needed code, you answer always yes. Then you can create receive, assign, invoke, assign and callback or similar and deploy it.
    Try it through BPEL Console...

  • Format of location of deployed bpel process - to access from osb

    We have oracle 11g Soa suite installed. I deployed a sample BPEL process in the server. I want to call this BPEL from OSB.
    For this, wsdl of the bpel process should have http url specified in "wsdl:service" element
    What is the format of http url for the BPEL process wsdl to specify in wsdl:service-->soap:address location

    If you want to call 11g bpel from osb 10.x you can't use the bpel10g transport. So for as far i know you just use the wsdl of the bpel process and use http transport to call it from osb.
    The wsdl-url of the bpel service you can just find in the 11g console

  • How do I call a simple java class from a bpel process?

    Hi.
    In JDeveloper 10.1.4.3.0 I've created a simple java class that does an ftp get operation followed by an unzip. The class uses some 3rd part libraries (jars).
    I want to use a simple bpel process to schedule a daily execution of this java class, and deploy it all to our SOA-server, - and was looking into using the <bpelx:exec> function.
    The java class and the bpel process is all stored in the same JDeveloper project.
    How do I put this together so that both my java class and the necessary jars are available to the bpel process?
    I've looked into the JavaExecSample.bpel, and it's says something about "...the class com.otn.samples.javaexec.CreditCalculator is locally packaged with this BPEL process".
    How do I do that?
    Can I make it and test it all locally from my workstation (only JDeveloper installed, I guess there's nothing that can execute the bpel code?), or do I have to compile class etc (make war-file?) and deploy to SOA server (BPEL-INF/lib or classes?) before anything can be tested?
    (I guess all this is simple, once you know how, but being a newbie to this I need a shove in the right direction :-)
    Regards,
    -Haakon-

    To create a java class and dependent jars inside the BPEL process project you need to do the following:
    1. Right click on your BPEL process project and select New and then Java Class from the Items.
    2. Make the BPEL process project, JDeveloper would compile the java classes and add them into the BPEL suite case jar, see the output folder and check the BPEL suite case jar file for java classes and dependent jars.
    You can test your Java classes from JDeveloper IDE, no need to deploy the classes on SOA server. When you make the BPEL project it compiles .bpel files and Java classes. You can test your classes once .bpel file and java classes compiled successfully.

  • Calling a BPEL process from java (STRUTS)

    Hi,
    I´ve a workspace where I have all the deployed bpel processes, and I´ve other workspace with a Struts project. I deployed my Struts project in the OC4J Server where the BPEL processes are deployed.
    I´m trying to initialise Locator instance in a .java file. The Locator will search the bpel processes in the default domain. I get an exception when I run the project, dont know what I´m doing wrong. (can´t copy the exception from the Embedded OC4J Server)
    THE CODE:
    static Locator locator = null;
    static String bpelDomain = "default";
    static String bpelDomainPassword = "bpel";
    static String orabpelPlatform = "oc4j_10g";
    static String javaNamingFactoryInitial = "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory";
    static String javaNamingProviderUrl = "ormi://develc15:23791/orabpel";
    static String javaNamingSecurityPrincipal = "admin";
    static String javaNamingSecurityCredentials = "welcome";
    static String dedicatedRmiContext = "true";
    public static void invokeProcess(String processName, String operationName, String sXml)
    try
    Properties props = new java.util.Properties();
    props.setProperty("orabpel.platform",orabpelPlatform);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial",javaNamingFactoryInitial);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.provider.url",javaNamingProviderUrl);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.security.principal",javaNamingSecurityPrincipal);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.security.credentials",javaNamingSecurityCredentials);
    props.setProperty("dedicated.rmicontext", dedicatedRmiContext);
    locator = new Locator(bpelDomain, bpelDomainPassword,props);
    } catch (Exception r)
    r.printStackTrace();

    I tried to call an async BPEL process from simple Java client. The only difference that I see in your code and mine is, that I haven't specified the "orabpelPlatform" and "dedicatedRMIContext" properties. Also, another diferenece is the ProviderURL used. I have copied the settings as found under "samples/tutorial/102.InvokeProcess/rmi/Context.Properties".
    While setting the properties use -
    Context.INITIAL_FACTORY
    Context.PROVIDER_URL
    Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL
    Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS
    instead of specifying java.naming.xxxxxx class names.
    Please check the file to see what are the Context properties set during installation for your BPEL PM. Use the same to define Properties to be passed as parameter in the Locator constructor.

    I have been working on the BPEL Process Manager for some time and now facing problem in invoking asynchronous web service from a BPEL Process. I have implemented a web service in Java using Axis but wasn't able to invoke it.
    I have gone through all the meterial available on this site but couldn't get any great help.
    Can some one help me in resolving this issue. A pointer to any example or sample material/tutorial will be appreciated.
    thanks
    Farooq

    I do the same thing.
    Take wsdl from axis and save it somewhere.
    Then you can create a standard project in Oracle BPEL PM. Create partnerlink, give a name and click on first icon to take your wsdl. It will add some needed code, you answer always yes. Then you can create receive, assign, invoke, assign and callback or similar and deploy it.
    Try it through BPEL Console...
    Ema

  • Error while invoking an asynchronous BPEL process

    Hi ,
    I am trying to call an asynchronous BPEL process through java client.
    Following is the code which I got from SOA bpel samples present in the following location
    <SOA_HOME>\bpel\samples\tutorials\102.InvokingProcesses\rmi\com\otn\samples\async
    The code fails while registering the callback
    String convId = GUIDGenerator.generateGUID();
    nm.setProperty(NormalizedMessage.CONVERSATION_ID, convId);
    deliveryService.post("HelloWorld", "initiate", nm);
    // register the callback
    watchdog.registerAsyncCallback(convId, testAsyncHandler,
    locator.getDomainAuth());
    The error says java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/collaxa/thirdparty/json/JSONString
    I tried to search for this in google. But it seems noone has got this error or maybe noone has used this at all.
    Maybe I am missing some jar file, but I am unable locate that.
    Can someone help me in this please.

    Hi,
    These sort of class not found errors come when you are running from a client which does not have all the jar files requried to invoke BPEL using the client API.
    org/collaxa/thirdparty/json/JSONString is orabpel-thirdparty.jar.
    The complete list of Jar files you would need in the classpath are:
    ejb.jar ($ORACLE_HOME/home/lib)
    oc4j-internal.jar ($ORACLE_HOME/home/lib)
    optic.jar ($ORACLE_HOME/opmn/lib)
    orabpel-common.jar ($ORACLE_HOME/bpel/lib)
    orabpel-thirdparty.jar ($ORACLE_HOME/bpel/lib)
    orabpel.jar ($ORACLE_HOME/bpel/lib)
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Shanmu.

    Hey,
    no big deal, this is because the Locator you use, runs in, say local mode,
    use the other API constructor in locator, which gets a hashtable.
    Tutorial is available in samples\tutorials\102.InvokingProcesses\rmi
    Locator locator = new Locator("default","bpel",props);
    The reason why you get that "notFoundEx" is because you are not in the same rmi.context bel runs in.

    Sancho,
    Thanks for the prompt reply. We trying to automate the following process:-
    1. The user select multiple documents from a folder in a library that contains all released documents.
    2. He then locks the documents.
    3. Selects the locked documents and copies it to a folder in the personal library.
    We are trying to lock and copy the documents as a 1 step process, because its difficult for the users to select all of the documents locked earlier and then copy it the personal library.
    We are trying to take the folder name as the user parameter, when the files are locked, so that the process and create the lock the files, create the folder and copy the files in this folder.
    Thanks again for your time and help.

  • Invoking bpel process from another bpel process in same app server

    Hi,
    When I invoke a bpel process from another bpel process in the same oracle AS
    1. Is it a SOAP call or is there any optimization?
    2. If there is some optimization where can I configure this?
    3. Is there any similar optimizations if I invoke a bpel process from a
    java application deployed in the same server? If so can you please provide
    a sample?
    Thanks for your help
    Raj

    By default the BPEL 10.1.2, it will do a local call to the process. It will not execute a SOAP request, no network access is done.
    It can be configured at domain level:
    Parameter: optSoapShortcut (SOAP local optimization)
    Turns on "short-cut" for local SOAP request; local SOAP calls are normally done via an internal call instead of sending a message through the SOAP stack.
    The default behavior for the engine is to optimize all. To disable optimization specify a value other than "true" or "yes".
