SAP Banking Services solution related to SOA and is newest solution for banking from SAP. There loans management is built on the same base as Deposits. CML and classic DM (up to 4.0 release) is from older SAP Banking package.
CMS as far as I see has not been rebuilt so much and should be more or less the same as older release on ECC6 platform.

  • Dual "Define Account Determination" under SAP Banking ??

    Hi, all
There are two "Define Account Determination" transaction under IMG SAP Banking:
    1) SAP Banking -> Loans Management -> Transaction Management -> Update Types -> Define Account Determination, which is the same as the one under FSCM/Treasury and Risk Management.
    2) SAP Banking -> Loans Management -> Functions -> Accounting -> General Ledger Update -> Define Account Determination
By trial and error, it seems that the later one should be used in Loans Management. Could anyone tell me under which conditions should the former one be used?
    Thanks.

We use product types under both SAP Banking->Loans and FSCM/Treasury and Risk, but I never realized that the Account determination for FSCM was included in the IMG path for SAP Banking->Loans....  When I learned Loans configuration, I was pointed in the direction of the Account determination under Functions, and never noticed it elsewhere.
I poked around the IMG a little and it looks like you would use the Account Determination under Update Types if you set up your Loans for parrallel valuation - that is if you need to maintain multiple valuations for Loans.  It appears the Account Determination under Update Types appears to be needed for the postings to the parrallel valuation areas.
We don't use parrallel valuation for Loans, so that would be another reason I've not needed the Account Determination under Update Types.
From what I'm seeing in the IMG, I would say that if you only need one valuation for Loans, like we do, then you shouldn't need the Account determination under Update Types - just the one under Functions.

  • Bank Guarantee and Cash Credit Limits in SAP

    Dear SAP Gurus,
How  Bank Guarantee or Cash credit limits are maintained in SAP? How to do configuiration of it?
    Thanxs
    Regards,
    Divyesh.

    Hi,
Credit limits are set for the Customers depending on the nature of business, their repayment pattern.
This comes under Credit Management which you configure through Credit Control Area and set
credit limits to monitor the customer credit worthiness and ageing analysis.  Regarding Bank Guarantee and letter of credits, they are normally for export customers which comes under Risk and Credit Management in Sales & Distribution Basic data.  You refer to SAP pdf searching through Google for SAP's SDBFCM pdf file which gives you total scenario regarding setting of credit limits and Bank Guarantee etc.

  • SAP HANA One and Predictive Analysis Desktop - Time Series Algorithms

I have been working on a Proof-of-Concept project linking the SAP Predictive Analysis Desktop application to the SAP HANA One environment.
I have modeled that data using SAP HANA Studio -- created Analytic views, Hierarchies, etc. -- following the HANA Academy videos.  This has worked very well in order to perform the historical analysis and reporting through the Desktop Application.
However, I cannot get the Predictive Analysis algorithms -- specifically the Time Series algorithms -- to work appropriately using the Desktop tool. It always errors out and points to the IndexTrace for more information, but it is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue.  The HANA Academy only has videos on Time Series Algorithms using SQL statements which will not work for my user community since they will have to constantly tweak the data and algorithm configuration.
In my experience so far with Predictive Analysis desktop and the Predictive Algorithms, there is a drastic difference between working with Local .CSV / Excel files and connecting to a HANA instance.  The configuration options for using the Time Series Algorithms are different depending upon the data source, which seems to be causing the issue.  For instance, when working with a local file, the Triple Exponential Smoothing configuration allows for the specification of which Date field to use for the calculation.  Once the data source is switched to HANA, it no longer allows for the Date field to be specified.  Using the exact same data set, the Algorithm using the local file works but the HANA one fails.
From my research thus far, everyone seems to be using PA for local files or running the Predictive Algorithms directly in HANA using SQL.  I can not find much of anything useful related to combing PA Desktop to HANA.
Does anyone have any experience utilizing the Time Series Algorithms in PA Desktop with a HANA instance?   Is there any documentation of how to structure the data in HANA so that it can be properly utilized in PA desktop?
    HANA Info:
    HANA One Version: Rev 52.1
    HANA Version: 1.00.66.382664
    Predictive Analysis Desktop Info:
    Version: 1.0.11
    Build: 708
    Thanks in advance --
    Brian

    Hi,
If you use CSV or XLS data source you will be using Native Algorithm or R
    Algorithm in SAP Predictive Analysis.
When you connect HANA, SAP Predictive Analysis uses PAL Algorithm which runs
    on HANA server.
Coming to your question regarding difference,
In SAP PA Native Algorithm, we could provide the Data variable, Algorithm
picks the seasonal information from the Data column. Both R and SAP HANA PAL
does not support Date Column. We need configure seasonal information in
    Algorithm properties.
    R Properties
    1) Period : you need to mention the periodicity of the Data
    Monthly : (12)
    Quarter : (4)
Custom : you can use it for week or Daily or hourly.
    2) Start Year: need to mention Start year.
Start year is not used by algorithm for calculating Time series, but it helps
PA to generate Visualization ( Time series chart) by simulating year and
    periodicity information.
    3) Starting Period:
if your data is Quarterly and you have data recordings from Q2, mention 2 in
    start period.
    Example.
If the data periodicity is Monthy and my data starts from Feb 1979, we need to provide following information,
    Period: 12
    Start year: 1979
    start Period: 2
PAL Properties. : Same as properties defined in R.
    Thanks

  • BI and SAP Banking

Has anyone worked on SAP Banking extracts from both legacy and SAP Banking system.  If so can any information be provided. Thanks

    Hi Niten,
well, most of the information can be found at http://help.sap.com (in the business content, goto the industry solutions and check out the folder banking). As you know all extractors, datasources, infosources are explained there. Depending on the release you are working on, you might get some performance issues while loading the loans, and here specially the extractor for the cash flow will be a big mess. Addionally you need to adjust your loads to bw to the so called 'day end processing' and the 'day start processing' of the source system. These are processes runing, depending on the day, for hours and you will find only a small time frame for your loads. We also had to find some workarounds to get it to work performantly. If you have further questions feel free to ask.
    regards
    Siggi

  • SAP GRC AC: Organizational rules at Batch risks analysis and Dashboards

    Dear All.
I would like to know GRC AC is able to consider the organizational rules defined (for example: risk only affected to Company, BUKRS 0001) at the Batch risks analysis and at the Dashboard. I already know that for the ad-hoc reporting you can filter by the Org.rules created but i would like to know if this filter is also able for the Batch risks analysis.
    Thanks and regards.

    Dear all.
As per my knowledge this parameter only sets the flag of Consider Org.Rules at the filters. This is what the guide indicates:
"Setting the value to YES automatically selects the Consider Org Rule checkbox on the Risk Violations tab of the Access Request and
    Role Maintenance screens."
So how are you so sure about that indicating this flag to YES will take into consideration the org rules at the Dashboards?

  • SAP Bank Analyzer in Banking services

    Hi All,
Need some details about the SAP Bank Analyzer in Banking services.
    Thanks,
    Ulrich

    Hi,
SAP best practices are showcased towards this objective in collaborating with different toolsets available to achieve IFRS goal. Bank Analyzer is a solution portfolio that can be recommended to achieve the IFRS goal. Bank Analyzer provides the application for Calculation, Analysis and Valuation of Financial products and supports the Financial and Risk Management processes for overall Bank control of financial products and the targeted architectural strategy for analytical solutions is marked by SAP Net weaver based on e-SOA concepts.
IFRA embraces layer architecture to ETL the Non Valuated Financial data in the SDL, Do the Calculation and Valuation procedures (CVPL/PML), Integrate different applications and consolidate the Valuated Data in RDL and report the desired data in SAP BI.
The changing requirements like SOX compliance, Basel reporting, IFRS give challenges to Banks to go for a software solution (BA) that is open and easily adjustable for all Bank controlling processes. All financial data Consolidation, Consistency, Data exchange across all application is called for. The changing new requirements call for a solution to combine the Revenue generating area (Financial products) and the Operational area (Business support). Hence the architectural solution IFRA in BA will provide the basis for Consistency, Transparency and Data exchange across FA, MA, RM and RR.
Bank Analyzer  breaks the silo reporting by integrating internal and external reporting both in the management of Financials as well as risk and reduce the gap between FA and MA as well as RM and RR. Bank Analyzer   Is a modeling environment which can be understood better when we elaborate the aspects of IFRA.
Firstly FDB provides the Single source of Truth as the core Financial and risk information are concentrated and integrated, secondly the Layer Model suits the adaptability to new requirements and further Strategies like Modularity, Openness makes Bank Analyzer focus on Bank Value chain Performance measurement on all aspects towards success.
Bank Analyzer   has Analyzers to evaluate SAP AFI with Merge Scenario based on Multi GAAP results and Sub Ledger solution with GL integration. SAP Basel II solution, SAP Limit solution
Please let me know if you need more details.
