SAP BC Developer 4.6 - Unable to locate or start compiler

Hi Everyone,
I am using the SAP BC Developer 4.6.
I have created a Java service and written some java code in it. When I try to "Save" it gives me following error:
"The source was saved, but was not compiled due to the following errors:
com.wm.util.LocalizedIOException: Unable to locate or start compiler".
Does this have anything to do with my machine's enviornment variables?

Unable to locate a suitable JDBC driver to establish a connection to URL

Hi experts,
I have developed an interface IDOC to JDBC (MS ACCESS) but when try to deliver the message in the MS ACCESS I get this error in the communication channel:
Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)};DBQ=//10.YY.YY.10/XXXX/XXXXX/pdddd.mdb' using the JDBC driver 'sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Unable to locate a suitable JDBC driver to establish a connection to URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)};DBQ=//10.YY.YY.10/XXXX/XXXX/pdddd.mdb''.
The parameters of the Communication channel are:
Driver: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
Conection: jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=//10.YY.YY.10/XXXX/XXXX/pdddd.mdb
In my local (windows) I have developed a litlle java code to check the connection with the ms access, I was fine. I'm in the same network that PI.
I don't know if the JdbcOdbcDriver is compatible with UNIX or I would need a diferent driver to connect. What driver connect PI and MS Access?
Any idea?

If you have zip file of the project then unzip it into your project location where all projects are there .then in NWDS go to file->import->multiple existing project into workspace->browse the file where you have saved it and select the comp folder inside the project folder->click finish.Now you are able to see the webdynpro project in the webdynpro explorer.If its not appearing then go to Navigatore and right click on project and click on open project, it will open the project in webDynpro explorer.

Unable to locate the LabVIEW Run-Time engine

Using LabVIEW 2011, I have built an executable and installer including the LabVIEW Run-Time engine. I built the app on a 32-bit system. I'm deploying it to a Windows7 64-bit system. When I ran the installer, rebooted, then tried to run the app, I got an error messsage stating "Unable to locate LabVIEW Run-Time Engine", stating that the LVRTE 2011 was needed to run the app, and asking if I want to download from NI. I have tried downloading the RTE and re-installing it, but when I try, I get an error message from the installer stating that there is a newer version of the RTE already installed, and the installer exits! I have tried un-installing the application, but have had no luck removing the RTE. Now I'm stuck. The re-installed executable application says it can't find the RTE, and the RTE installer says there's a later version already installed!
I can't go forward or backwards!
Prior to running the installer for this app, I had a working LVRTE for 2011, and was running some other executable LabVIEW programs on the target box. However, since this new application had additional components not included in the original install of the RTE, I built the new installer which included the additional components. Once I ran that installer, my problems began.
In my frustration, I've tried downloading from NI both the 32 and 64-bit versions of the RTE, and installing them. I realize that the app was built on a 32-bit system, so the 32-bit RTE SHOULD have run it fine, but didn't.
At this point I have removed the 64-bit RTE using the NIUninstaller. I believe I need to completely remove all 32-bit RTE components and start over, but I have not been able to. The 32-bit RTE does not show up in any un-install utilities I've found.
What could be causing this problem, and how do I get past it??

One thing I did discover in my struggles is that the RunTime engine on the target box needs to be based on the environment of the development box. So if you built the app on a 32-bit machine, you would need to install the 32-bit RTE, even on your 64-bit target box.
The RTE Uninstaller might not show up in the Windows Add/Remove Programs utility. In my case the 64-bit RTE uninstaller showed up, but the 32-bit did not. The NiUninstaller (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\NIUninstaller) did list both RTEs for uninstalling, but still didn't get me past the problem.
I was finally only able to get past the problem by doing a system restore to a point in time prior to my changing of the RTE.

Error while installing the EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS)

Dear All,
I am trying to install the EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS) 7.1 .It got installed once but when i was trying to deploy the application i was getting an error sayind that we need to have JDK1.5 Update 14 or higher for the installation.
Now i have JDK 1.5.0_14 installed in my system.So i Uninstalled the EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS) and i am trying to reinstall it but i am getting the following error

Unable to complete action for feature "SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Facades" due to errors.

Dear Nishita,
I hope you have removed the older version of jdk before installing the new version of jdk. Also after un installation of NWDS, did you delete all the temp files and also the directories created during the original installation of NWDS. Also did you restart your system after the uninstallation of NWDS EHP1 and older jdk before reinstallation of the two softwares?

P.S. The first thing you can try is restarting the PC and try resuming the installation, if it doesnt succeed, please remove all traces of NWDS and JDK, restart pc and then resinstall both of them.

Getting an error in Java Project in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

I am getting this error in my Java Project developed in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
Exception occurred during launch Reason: Source locator does not exist org.eclipse.jdt.debug.ui.javaSourceLocator
Is this problem of not defining some External .jar file or problem with Eclipse?
I am developing Java Project which connects with SAP Master Data Management.
I am referring to a PDF named "How To identify identical master data records using SAP MDM 5.5

This may be because of the metadata(registry) cache when it was written out by a second instance of NWDS.
So the plug-in appears in the file system but NWDS doesn't see it in the metadata
Delete the .metadata file from your workspace and then start up NWDS. It might work.

Hi Shamila!
As I mentioned, you need to consult your content developer to debug this issue. In the course content(i.e. flash file) there are references to the SCORM API. These when imported in to AE loose the reference. For instance, if you have something like this .. parent.api.<some scrom function> and the parent (window or frame) has the SCORM API. This reference might be getting broken when the course package is imported in to AE. The content developer need to make changes in the code to ensure the reference to the API is changed.

I got this solution from SAP and it worked.
This is a known problem that appers due to an implementation bug,
while trying to read the proxy information. The studio expects non-
empty value for key com.tssap.config/proxy, located in
[YourDevStudioInstallationPath]\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.java.ide\pl
ugin_customization.ini file. During the installation no value is
assigned to this key (as you mentioned - no proxy in your case). The
problem will be fixed for SP14, however there is a workaround:
1. Change the value for key com.tssap.config/proxy in
plugin_customization.ini to something like this - proxy:80.
2. After this change the DevStudio should start and you'll be able to
configure your proxy settings from Menu Window->Preferences-
>Workbench->Proxy Settings. (In your case - disable the proxy
server)

TestStand Deplyment Error- Error: Unable to locate all subVIs from saved VIs because a subVI is missing

Hi,
I am a Systems and Software Engineer based in Vancouver. I developed an automated test system using LabVIEW 2013 and TestStand 2013 with custom operator interface.
I encountered 'missing VIs' problem which is kind of weird because I passed analyzing the sequence for both TestStand Sequence Editor and TestStand Deployment Utility >> Distrubuted Files Tab.
But when I tried building the installer and reaching the point 'Calling distribution VIs, it always throw an error saying 'An error occurred while trying to read the depencies of the VIs, possible because the VIs are not saved in the current version of LabVIEW. Do you want to save any modified now?'. I tried both cases (i.e. Yes and No) for this option but it did not solve the issue.
This is part of the original error message displayed in TestStand Deployment Utility:
While Processing VIs...
Error: Unable to locate all subVIs from saved VIs because a subVI is missing or the VI is not saved in the current version of LabVIEW.
The call chain to missing VIs:
1 - ATE_AccelerometerTest.vi
2 - CreateAndMergeErrors.vi (missing)
3 - LogControl_CheckForErrorSendUpdates.vi (missing) "
All missing VIs are coming from userlib.
Actions Done:
- Analyzed sequence file using TestStand Sequence Editor and TestStand Deployment Utility
- Verified 'Search Directories' include all necessary files/dependencies.
- Mass compile the directory of the missing VIs
- Added all needed files and folders in the workspace file.
The result is still the same based from the actions done.
The last debugging I did earlier is that I tried locating the sequence and steps of missing VIs as mentioned above (e.g. ATE_AccelerometerTest.vi)
and I found out that the step seems to be an empty action step. Would this be possible even if it already passed the analysis?
Other considerations include:
I am using LabVIEW 2013 sp1 and TestStand 2013. We tried building from three (3) computers and we only succeeded once to a freshly-installed comptuer.

Hi All,
We were able to resolve the issue. First to note is that the release notes in TestStand 2013 is outdated and we confirmed from NI Engineer in Austin that TestStand 2013 works fine with LabVIEW 2013 SP1.
Secondly, we played around TestStand Deployment option that resolved the issue. Attached are the images.
We just enabled the 'Remove Unused VI Components'. It could be one of the libraries (lvlib) we included in the build but we haven't figured it out yet because we verified that all VIs are working. It could be also something else that I think very difficult to find based from the information. However, if anybody experienced the same issue, this could be helpful.
Again, we revert back in using TestStand 2013 and LabVIEW 2013 SP1.

Unable to locate variable

Hello all,
I am attempting to put together an application in which a single host retrieves data from 1+ RT-system(s). I am using shared variables to communicate across the network. Because the system may have more than one data acquisition system sending data, I would like to host the SVE on the host computer (running Windows 7). However, I have been unable to get the library to deploy properly when it is located on the Windows PC - I get error -1950679035, "Unable to locate variable in Shared Variable Engine. Deployment of this Variable may have failed" when I attempt to read one of the SVs. The communication works seamlessly when the SVE is located on one of the targets, but I want to get away from this as there is the possibility that the machine hosting the SVE is not present if it is on one of the DAQ devices. I know that I am probably missing something basic (duh), but does anyone have any thoughts? I have attached the project (it is very simple).

Haha...obviously mine is fairly limited also. So, here is the story: my starting point is quite simple and illustrates my problem clearly. Pretend that there is not two devices that I am attempting to communicate, but simply (for right now), two VIs in a single project on the same machine for which I am using SVs to communicate between. Pretty basic right? This is what is throwing the error. I can move the SVE to another machine (a cRIO chassis) and all is fine. The trouble all starts (regardless of config) when I attempt to place the SVE on the Windows machine. I suspect this might be some kind of firewall issue, but it is unclear to me what might be going on. Anyway, thanks for the help.

I have installed sap bc developer 4.6 successfully.
But when i try to run it through start>Programs>sap bc--->sap bc developer4.6,it just flashes a window and doesnt work further.What must be the reason?

The Windows version of SAP BC 4.7 is not shipped with a JVM anymore!
Therefore you need to install a JRE/JDK first. The supported JDKs for the SAP BC Runtime and for compiling services with SAP BC can be found in attached SAP note 309834.
After installing the JRE/JDK you have to perform one of the following options:
Copy the content of the JRE directory to <server>\jvm and <developer>\jvm, where <server> and <developer> are the installation directories of the SAP BC 4.7 Server and SAP BC 4.7 Developer respectively. Thus you don't need to update the server.bat and integrator.bat.
Example: If your JDK/JRE is installed in c:\jdk1.3.1, then copy the content of c:\jdk1.3.1\jre to the jvm directory.
Edit the server.bat and integrator.bat and set the JAVA_ROOT variable to the location of the JDK on your system.
Example: If your JDK/JRE is installed in c:\jdk1.3.1, then change server.bat as follows:
SET JAVA_ROOT=C:\jdk1.3.1\jre

SAP Netweaver Developer Studio Updatesite problem

I have installed SAP Netweaver Developer Studio CE 7.1 SP09 in my desktop. I am trying to connect to local update site.
I am getting the below mentioned error.
    Network connection problems encountered during search.
    Unable to access "http://<host_name>:<port>/updatesite".
