SAP BW INSTALL ON MS SQL SERVER 2000

Hi
I tried to install SAP BW IDES with MS SQL Server 2000 but unfortunately it was unsuccessful. An error occurred at the last operation progress.
Here is the error :
" Unable to add acount SAPMssXPUser to group Administrators. The specified account name is already a member of the local group. "
The process of installation is stopped at : " Changing account...Server\SAPMssXPUser"
So would you be so kind to give me some help about this. Thank you in advance.
Best Regards.

Hi Markus
And thanks to your answer, it helped me to succeed in this first step but unfortunately 1 minute later during the install process I have a new error telling me :
MDB-05042 Error while executing script "CREATE DATABASE BW3 ON PRIMARY ( name = 'BW3DATA1' , filename = ' C:\BW3DATA1\BW3DATA1.mdf ', size = 11000 FILEGROWTH = 60 )....... idem for BWDATA2 ......... idem for BWDATA3   MODIFY FILE encountered operating system error 112 while attempting to expand the physical file. CREATE DATABASE failed. Some file names listed could not be create.
Could you help me to solve this error . Thank you in advance.

  • Connect SQL Server 2000 using JDBC

    Hi all,
    We have installed the microsoft sql server 2000 into 3 different pcs which is not the server. we have installed the jdbc driver into the server and wish to connect the database from the 3 pcs using that jdbc driver from the server. may i know is it possible to connect the database and if it is possible, the database url is it something like      jdbc:sqlserver://<host_name>:<port>;DatabaseName=<db_name>?
    Also may i know what is actually the host name? like is it the host name of j2ee engine or the ip address where the database resides in. also for the port is it 1433 for microsoft sql server 2000 and if it is fix meaning that only 1433 is the port for sql server 2000?
    Thanks

    The hostname is the name (or IP-Adress) of your PCs. The Port of SQL Server may vary, but by default it is 1433.

  • Can not read Chinese data when DB Connect to SQL server 2000

    Hi,
       Our BW server( BW3.5 not unicode ) is installed on MS SQL server 2000. We try to connect the BW SQL server with db connect function. We create some test views in the Northwind DB. We are be able to access data from source system in rsa1 by db connect. The problem is that all the Chinese characters are displayed as ?????. Is there any special setting for accessing multibyte characters in MS SQL server 2000? Please advise.
    Thank you,
    Jeff

    The field of VIEW in the sqlserver which code is chinese must be the nvarchar.
    You can try it.

  • Problem of loading the Driver of MS SQL Server 2000

    Is there anyone in the Sun Forum who will help me?
    I have already tried to give the full class path of .jar files to the System and User Variables but received the same error. I am doing BCA and developing my very first Project on Java.
    Please, tell me one thing. When I had installed MS SQL Server 2000 at my system first time then the 3 JAR files were present in the lib folder and all my codings of connectivity were working properly. Then due to some reasons, I had to format C drive and installed the MS SQL Server 2000 again then in the lib folder the 3 JAR files were not there. How it has happened? Then, I installed the downloaded driver of MS SQL Server 2000 for JDBC 1.4 then the JAR files were installed in the related downloaded driver folder. I manually copied them to the lib folder of MS SQL Server and gave that path to the Classpath of System and User Variables, but it didn't work.
    I am not understanding the reason that The Software which worked previously is not working correctly in second time of installing.
    I am using command line to develop my stand-alone project. Please help me.

    I have really no idea what in earth "the same error" is which you're talking about. Be specific. Post the exception type, message and stacktrace.

    Don't bother with the System CLASSPATH, more often than not, it is not even used.
    When running from an IDE, set the project's library preferences.
    When running from a web container/application server configure the applications libraries in the server/container, see it's documentation.
    When running an applet, configure the [ codebase and/or archive |http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/applet/html.html] tags properly.
    When running from the command line with the [ "-cp" |http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/tools/solaris/java.html] option, the System CLASSPATH is ignored.
    When running from the command line with the "-jar" option, both the System CLASSPATH path and the "-cp" option are ignored, configure the [manifest file|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/jar/downman.html] properly.
    When running any other way, the System CLASSPATH might be used.

  • JDBC for Microsoft SQL Server 2000

    Hello,
    I have installed Microsoft SQL Server 2000 to establish a connection with JDK 1.4.1 and run the following code:
    import java.sql.Connection.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    public class Connect
    private java.sql.Connection con = null;
    private final String url = "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://";
    private final String serverName= "localhost";
    private final String portNumber = "1433";
    private final String databaseName= "cbi";
    private final String userName = "sa";
    private final String password = "";
    // Informs the driver to use server a side-cursor,
    // which permits more than one active statement
    // on a connection.
    private final String selectMethod = "cursor";
    // Constructor
    public Connect(){}
    private String getConnectionUrl()
    return url+serverName+":"+portNumber+";databaseName="+databaseName+";selectMethod="+selectMethod+";";
    private java.sql.Connection getConnection()
    try
    Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
    con = java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(getConnectionUrl(),userName,password);
    if(con!=null)
    System.out.println("Connection Successful!");
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println("Error Trace in getConnection() : " + e.getMessage());
    return con;
    Display the driver properties, database details
    public void displayDbProperties()
    java.sql.DatabaseMetaData dm = null;
    java.sql.ResultSet rs = null;
    try
    con= this.getConnection();
    if(con!=null)
    dm = con.getMetaData();
    System.out.println("Driver Information");
    System.out.println("\tDriver Name: "+ dm.getDriverName());
    System.out.println("\tDriver Version: "+ dm.getDriverVersion ());
    System.out.println("\nDatabase Information ");
    System.out.println("\tDatabase Name: "+ dm.getDatabaseProductName());
    System.out.println("\tDatabase Version: "+ dm.getDatabaseProductVersion());
    System.out.println("Avalilable Catalogs ");
    rs = dm.getCatalogs();
    while(rs.next())
    System.out.println("\tcatalog: "+ rs.getString(1));
    rs.close();
    rs = null;
    closeConnection();
    else
    System.out.println("Error: No active Connection");
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    dm=null;
    private void closeConnection()
    try
    if(con!=null)
    con.close();
    con=null;
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
    Connect myDbTest = new Connect();
    myDbTest.displayDbProperties();
    but, I received the error that ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver, No active Connection.
    I added the 3 .jar files msbase.jar,mssqlserver.jar and msutil.jar to the System variables but it is not working. Is there any syntax for adding these .jar files to the System Variables?
    Please, help me and give me the solution for establishing the connection and loading the driver class. If I am doing anything wrong then please, tell me the right step.
    I am developing a project on Java and I have very little time left to accomplish it. Please help me.
    Thankyou.

    I had already given the .jar files to the User variables and System Variables but the driver class is still not loading. I had simply given the .jar file name for instance, msbase.jar;mssqlserver.jar;msutil.jar and also tried the path of .jar files i.e., C:\Microsoft SQL Server\-----------\lib\msbase.jar;C:\-------------lib\mssqlserver.jar;C:\----------------\lib\msutil.jar; but, both ways are not working. When I installed the MS SQL Server 2000 then in the lib folder, the 3 JAR files were not installed then, I downloaded a driver for MS SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC sp2, then, the JAR files were installed. Then, I copied those files to the lib folder of MS SQL Server and gave that path to the User and System Variables but it didn't work then I gave the original path of files where they are installed i.e., of the Driver's path which I downloaded from Microsoft but still now, my problem is not solved. Please help me.

  • Where to find the API documentation for MS SQL Server 2000 JDBC

    I Downloaded and installed the MS SQL Server 2000 JDBC package, but I found that it does not provide enough help docs such as API documentation, demo and etc.
    It would be most grateful if you would provide some information about this driver.

    Thank your for your kind attention.
    For example, I want to get a ConnectionPoolDataSource object to get a PooledConnection object, but I don't know which class implements the interface.
    import java.sql.*;
    import javax.sql.*;
    import <classes related to connection pooling>;
    ConnectionPoolDataSource cpds = new <MS impl>;
    <lines for setURL()/setUser()/setPassword, etc>
    PooledConnection pc = cpds.getPooledConnection();

  • Error Establishing Socket with SQL Server 2000

    I have a java application that uses JDBC to connect to a source of data.
    The application has been installed on many platforms using many different data sources, but one combination has beaten me.
    I am using Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000 Enterprise, when the application starts up it fails to connect to the database with the following message:
    [Microsoft][SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC] Error Establishing Socket
    I have looked at a lot of forums and tried many things but nothing has fixed the problem for me:
    To summarise:
    The URL I am using is jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://locahost:1433
    I have also tried using the name of the machine and it's actual IP address
    I have checked that TCP/IP is enabled and using the correct port (1433)
    Both SQL Server and Windows authentication are enabled and I can connect using both method from ODBC
    I can connect to it and use it with c#.net, vb.net and ODBC from the same machine
    I have installed the latest SQL Server 2000 service pack
    The application works with SQL Server 2000 Developer on Windows XP
    If anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to hear from you.

    If you printed out the SQL state and error code that would be a bit more info:
    catch (SQLException e)
        e.printStackTrace();
        System.err.println("SQL state: " + e.getSQLState());
        System.err.println("SQL error: " + e.getErrorCode());
    }Maybe that will give you more detail as to exactly why this is happening.
    The only other thought I had was security. Maybe there's a permission to access the port that would have to be granted explicitly as part of M$'s new emphasis on security. You did say it was Windoze Server 2003. Maybe that's the difference between all the other installs and this one.
    No joy from me, sorry. - MOD

  • Unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005 on Satellite A205-s5831

    Hello everyone.
    I Needs some helps from all of you.
    I have Toshiba Laptop Satellite A205-S5831.
    Its Have Windows Vista Home Premium.
    And I am unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005.
    I also Unable to Install Windows XP SP2.
    Problem is SATA driver.
    Plz Help me ...!
    Response me

    Hi
    The Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install it on the notebook with SATA HDD controller.
    The SATA driver can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.
    I would recommend using the nLite program to include a SATA driver into the new Windows XP CD and then to boot from the new created XP CD.
    Here you will find all details regarding the nLite:
    http://www.nliteos.com/
    Regarding SQL server issue;
    Maybe you will be able to install in on Windows XP. Possibly there is a compatibility issue between the Vista and the SQL server software

  • Installing Oracle 8i on server with SQL Server 2000

    We have One Server (HP with: 4 processors XEON, 100 GB HD Raid 5, 8GB RAM). And this server has SQL Server 2000 running with some databases. We NEED to install ORACLE 8i for a product that they use that DB. IS THERE a problem to install and use ORACLE 8i on the same server that has SQL server 2000? Do you know any issue related to this "experience"?

    You CAN run both at the same time. I have done this on a few boxes without issue. MS tells you not to, but I think it's because they don't want you running Oracle. Their comment was 'we don't recommend it.'
    Remember that you will have TCP 1521 tied up with Oracle (by default) and TCP 1433 tied up with SQL Server (by default). If you have installation issues, it's not because you are running two separate DBs. In this case you have a different issue. If you can't run both successfully, simultaneously then you have another issue altogether not related to the software. You should be fine as long as you are not sharing TCP ports.
    Several years ago I was responsible for an HP Netserver LX Pro that ran Oracle RDMBS 7.3.2 and (probably 4.2 or 6.0) SQL Server and had no issues. I have been running both RDBMSs on the same box since even though the boxes have changed - HP/DELL - didn't matter.

  • Sap4.7 and sql server 2000 on windows2003:when install di ,error:MDB-05039

    sap4.7 and sql server 2000 on windows2003:
    when install database instance ,there is a error,at change  tempdb
      MDB-05039:Unable to stop server dev ,
    please help !!!!

    Every time you start SQL Server it also creates a new tempdb. When you change the layout (physical structure, size) you have to restart SQL Server in order for these changes to take effect.
    It seems that the installation routine has changed the layout (it does that according to your input!) and is now trying to stop and restart SQL Server. When you run into this error, have you tried to stop and restart SQL Server manually? After that choose the Retry option of the installation routine. Just a guess...
    Do you have some more log information?
