SAP customer portal notification

Hello all, when I log a message to my SAP partner for support, how do I set it up in the customer support portal to receive an email notification as soon as they respond? I would prefer to not have to check the portal constantly.
Thanks,
Lazar

Hi Lazar,
I doubt customer has such ability. It is under partner's setup.
Thanks,

  • Upgrade SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0 to 7.3 - Custom coding

    Dear all,
    we would like to upgrade an existing SAP NW Portal 7.0 to the latest version 7.3. The current installation contains a number of custom coded portal and Web Dynpro applications. As far as I understand SAP's upgrade guides, documents and notes:
    - Web Dynpro applications of NW 7.0 are source compatible to version 7.3 but not binary compatible and thus need to be manually migrated to the new platform. The manual migration consists of an import of the respective artifacts (DCs) to NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.3 in order to rebuild, re-archive and re-deploy the software.
    - Portal applications developed with Java 1.4.2/J2EE 1.3 (default version of SAP NW 7.0) are generally source and binary compatible to those developed with Java EE 5 (JDK 5/6) in SAP NW 7.3 and thus do not need to be manually migrated. However, the KMC-API and the UME-API used therein have been changed. In case an application uses these APIs, it is necessary to adjust the source code before rebuilding and re-deploying the application.
    Is the summary presented above correct? If not, could you please point out which assumption is wrong?
    Furthermore, could you please give me any details about changes regarding the portal frameworkpage? We have a highly customized frameworkpage and would like to know in how far the latter will be running on the new portal version.
    Thanks for your help and best regards,
    Markus

    Hi Markus
    Its been long period since last reply on your reply. In case you haven't yet solved your issues, I hope my reply would help you to some extent.
    As per SAP, all those WD Java applications that were developed on NW 7.0 needs to be migrated on NW 7.3 if you plan to make further modifications (on new environment) in these applications.
    For migration, all you need to do is migrate the development track, import the track into NWDS 7.3 and migrate the DCs one by one.
    However in case of Portal applications, some of our custom portal applications (TLN), worked as it is on NW7.3 but some are not working even after defining new dependencies. Since some of the Classes have been removed, we are working around them.

    c) how can we integrate iviews from apllications, whiche are not on cloud?
    d) how can portal on cloud uintegrade in the cts+ , which is not on cloud?
    Regards Oliver

    As explained in another thread of yours, there is no such thing as "SAP NetWeaver Portal on Cloud" and if your questions are about SAP HANA Cloud Portal, please post them in the corresponding space: SAP HANA Cloud Portal.

  • Custom portal service not running ni NW 04

    Hello!
    We are about to migrate from EP6 SP2 to NW04 and I'm currently testing the results of the first test run.
    One special problem I encountered is one of my custom portal services no longer running. It did without flaws back in EP6, so something seems to have changed.
    My Service interface:
    [code]
    package com.rag.ekportal.bginfocenter.kmservice;
    @author Juergen Wahlmann

    And the implementation:

    package com.rag.ekportal.bginfocenter.kmservice;

    Looks like something is wrong in the service definition (portalapp.xml) but I have no clue. Class names are spelled right, settings the same as in EP6 SP2, yet the portal engine is not able to find the implementation class of the service.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Detlev!
    The ServiceReference definition previously was located in the application config under SP2, but didn't work either.
    Now I found the solution. A sharing reference of all non-custom services in the application config and an additional sharing reference to my custom service in the portal application's config like this:
              <application-config>
                   <property name="SharingReference" value="usermanagement,knowledgemanagement,com.sap.portal.ivs.connectorservice,landscape">
                   </property>
              </application-config>
              <components>
                   <component name="BGViewer">
                        <component-config>
                             <property name="ClassName" value="com.rag.ekportal.bginfocenter.bgview.control.BGViewer">
                             </property>
                             <property name="SecurityZone" value="sbi-ruhr.de/ekportal/medium_safety/com.rag.ekportal/components/bgviewer">
                             </property>
                             <property name="ResourceBundleName" value="bginfocenter">
                             </property>
                             <property name="SharingReference" value="com.rag.ekportal.bginfocenter.KMService.BGFetcher">
                             </property>
                        </component-config>
    Case closed, thx for you hint. I awarded points.

  • SAP SNC Portal DCM screen performance is very slow and times out

    Friends,
    SAP SNC Portal DCM screen performance is very slow and times out when user trying to pull data using customer location
    What are the cleanup activites we can do to improve the overall SNC performance ?
    We did open OSS message but so far no reply from SAP , Is there any one faced performance issue ?
    User/vendor is complaining about slowness , query is standard SAP and its taking more time  .(table - /LIME/NTREE) , It looks like number of data are huge causing this problem related to LIME/NTREE table. What are the options to improve the performance ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Hanuman Choudhary

    hi Team,
    Pls . note the advise from SAP below, IS there any have experiance of archiveing /LIME records ?
    Please advise how to start & what the steps in archiving ?
    Thanks in advance
    I had a look at the DCM query performance in PH1 system and figured out
    that most of the time is spent at the LIME layer of database. The
    following LIME tables are having far too many entries and is causing
    the bottleneck during the query execution.
    /LIME/NLOG_QUAN - 38,165,467
    /LIME/PN_ITEM - 19,116,518
    /LIME/PN_ITEM_TB - 19,154,124
    These tables are storing the historical information about LIME(stock)
    updates. Since these table grow with each change/update of stock
    information, it will slow down the performance of the system over a
    period of time. And to avoid the slow responses, the tables should
    ideally be archived on a periodic basis to keep the data volume as
    minimal as possible. You may have to discuss with the Business to
    determine the number of days of LIME record you would want to retain
    in the system. I would strongly recommend you to consider the LIME
    archival retaining the minimum days (<=60 days) of historical
    information. You can find more information about the Lime Archival
    in the Sap Help link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm2007/helpdata/en/44/2a83121dde23d1e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm.
    Kindly get in touch with your BASIS consultant for the LIME archival.
    The application performance should definitely improve after the LIME
    archival. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me in case you
    require any further clarification in this regards.

  • SAP Business One in SAP NetWeaver Portal?

    Hi,
    We have a customer that will implement SAP Business One for their backoffice.
    They want a package solution for their internet and extranet (clients and suppliers). The extranet will access SAP Business One.
    We are considering to implement SAP NetWeaver Portal for the extranet.
    Do you think this is possible? What about SSO?
    Tahnk you all,
    Olivier Marques.

    Olivier,
    I am not sure about the SAP NetWeaver Portal.  You may want to ask that question in the NetWeaver Discussion Forum.
    With respect to the SAP Business One Integration for SAP NetWeaver product ... this technology is not providing a portal in which to access SAP Business One from a web interface.  The SAP Business One Integration for SAP NetWeaver is a technology that seamlessly integrates SAP Business One with mySAP with respect to the integration of transactions and master data flow between the two systems from a headquarters/subsidiary(s) standpoint.

  • Custom Portal iView (Retrieve user; Append text to URL; Redirect to URL)

    Hi all,
    I wish to create a custom Portal iView. I wish to fulfill the following requirements using this iView:
    1) I wish to retrieve the Portal User ID of the user who is currently login in Portal. (Will the IUser class solve the purpose? I know IUser is used in Web Dynpro application.)
    2) I wish to append this User ID to another URL (a URL of some other non-SAP application). The URL is something like this:
    http://<ABC>/user=
    3) Both the above tasks have to be performed in the same iView. And then the iView should automatically be redirected to the new URL (generated in step 2).
    I wish to do this without using Web Dynpro. Can someone please help me for this requirement? I would appreciate even if someone knows the solution to only one of the three steps above, and replies to my question.
    Thanks in advance.

    Can someone help me for step 1:
    1) I wish to retrieve the Portal User ID of the user who is currently login in Portal. I need to do this in an AbstractPortalComponent.

  • SubscribeNet vs. SAP Support Portal

    Okay, I purchased a new license from TechXtend. They were good about calling me until they got my credit card. Now they are radio silent.
    Where would I see that new license? I logged into the SAP support portal but I can't figure out where to go or what to do. Awful.
    I logged into Subscribenet and I still see my licenses there and it appears that I could check them out. But I don't see the new license
    I think the SAP Support Portal should just be called the SAP Confusion Portal. Never have I seen so much crap that doesn't apply to me pushed into one page. Seriously, it sucks.
    Can I still use SubscribeNet to manage my licenses? Is there a place to manage the licenses in the SAP Confusion Portal? I clicked on Licenses and then I have to search a installation. I only see my two licenses, not the new one. So is something bogged down somewhere? I tried to check in one of my existing licenses and then I was prompted for a user id and password again must have done something wrong because I got sent to jail and now I have to pay $200.00 to get out.
    Awful.

    Thanks Chris.
    That is the way that I would have preferred to do it. I am now waiting a full three business days for the license. Funny, you can buy direct, but I cannot. I guess I must have pissed of Sue Dunnell with one of my previous posts because she was the one to tell me that said that only customers can go direct to SAP, but I would have to go elsewhere. Odd that most people here, including myself have been using the product since the early 90's. What does make a customer Sue?
    And I still have no definitive answer on using SubscribeNet. It still shows my old company name and that one of my licenses is associated with a server that no longer exists while the other license is correctly associated with my workstation that did not exist previously.
    I suspect they goofed up the migration.

    I need to create a new message into SAP support portal. But I don't find my systems. Using the System Search window I find my customer and product into dropdown lists , but If I run a search with this criteria I don't have nobody as return system. Checking in data admnistration I find my systems with correct customer,  license and installation number.
    Someone Known what can be happened?
    Thanks in advance.
    Corrado.

    Hello there,
    You could open a support message about the SAP Service Marketplace, and ask them to check the system information in the marketplace. The component would be XX-SER-SAPSMP-SYS.
    If you don't manage to open support messages at all, you could call your Customer Interaction Center with the contact information you can see at note 560499.

  • The future of Collaboration in SAP NW Portal?

    Hi all,
    I have a mandate from management to implement SAP Collaboration Rooms in our SAP NW Enterprise Portal (NW 7.0); basically, to increase the usability of EP for business users.  However, I have had a hard time convincing myself (and thus management) that SAP Collaboration Rooms would be the tool/product to use going forward (in terms of collaboration).
    First of all, maybe it's just me but I noticed that SAP have gradually separated and dropped the "C" from "KMC".  Then, 'collaboration' is hardly mentioned (as a feature/functionality) in portal's roadmap/release strategy, for releases after NW 7.0; in fact, the latest release strategy for LE only mentioned Duet Enterprise briefly.
    I went to the SDN's main page of 'Collaboration'
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-collaboration#section4
    only to find the 'Update on SAP NetWeaver Collaboration Services - Status Quo and Outlook' blog, which is supposed to provide up-to-date information, dated back in 2008.
    And then I found this blog (with a footnote on KMC)
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/17524
    to be very interesting.
    So, if I understand correctly, SAP expects its 'partner ecosystem to deliver solutions based on Duet Enterprise' (quote from the release strategy) and is encouraging its customers to use third-party software for collaboration such as MS SharePoint, etc.
    It'd be much appreciated if we can have an official confirmation from SAP about the future of SAP Collaboration Rooms in NW Portal and some suggestions as to what would be the best alternatives for its customers if we are to continue using SAP NW Portal.
    With all due respects, this thread is meant to have an open discussion (not to blame anyone or any product) and I'm seeking advice from experienced SDNers; so, all helpful suggestions are much welcomed/appreciated.

    The dual support of server and client object models are required.
    - the CSOM provides sandbox isolation, support for SharePoint as a SAAS platform (Office 365), and provides support for interoperability with other languages (via JSON, web services, etc)
    - the SSOM provides on-prem installations with more integration capabilities than can be provided via app models/etc. For example, I'll be developing a custom claims provider for ADFS integration starting Monday, which can ONLY be installed as a farm solution.
    Microsoft has been focused on updating SharePoint with newer server-side technologies. WebForms has been outdated for a while now, and SP has been working to include newer technologies such as MVC. This is evident in some places, such as search result templates,
    which have a very MVC-like approach.

  • Custom Portal Service Scalability and Performance

    I want to know if Custom Portal Services are scalable enough to handle 300 concurrent users ?
    We are developing custom portal services to consume web service to get response and to send request to an endpoint.
    These portal services will be accessed by portal components.
    We are expecting around 300 concurrent users.
    So whether the custom portal services are scalable ? Does SAP provide support to this kind of architecture ?
    thanks in advance

    HI,
    the portal can support several thousand concurrent users. You only have make a proper sizing (SAPS) and  setup your landscape correctly.
    As for the custom portal service: of course this is scalable, but the performance depends on your coding skills and what the service will do.
    AFAIK SAP offers support for running custom code running on the platform, but not for errors made by the custom code. There is (was, will be) a service from SAP were they check your code for known issues.
