SAP HA failover script for RHCS

Hi Guys,
We have built a SAP HA system on RHCS and the services are not automated due to scripts un-availability. So everytime when the server node goes down we
are manually moving the services and starting the SAP and DB.
So can anyone help me by providing or suggesting on the failover scripts for SAP HA on RHCS.

Hello,
the SAPInstance resource agent must be configured for SAP services and SAPDatabase must be configured for the database so that they can be managed by cluster. these resource agents will take care of starting/stopping the SAP/DB related services
the sapstartsrv also will be managed by the cluster automatically. incase if this service is running in both nodes for ASCS/SCS instances stop them so that it will started by the cluster framework in the appropriate node
also check if SAPHOSTAGENT in installed in both the nodes

if these Resource agents are not configured then you need to only start/stop them manually

Here are HA stop & start scripts that you should be able adapt for your particular circumstances. Based on earlier versions of SAP / Oracle but assume should be a reasonable guide

 In order to create a page for each line item what you have to do is in the script part where you have written the values.
for eg: if the line item details(VALUE) are in an internal table "I_DETAILS"

During the installation, I would use the same <sidadm> existing as it is in the PRD.
If I tell you to install it during the same <sidadm> it will overwrite what already exists, or do I just enter the password of existing <sidadm>?

SAP VB script for updating texts in purchase orders

Hello,
I am trying to create a SAP script for updating texts in purchase orders. It is in the last third - Item Detail, Texts tab.
The script is ok apart from the fact that it always deletes whatever text is in there and than add a new one.
I would like to keep history in the texts tab and always just add one line to existing texts. Is there any way (command) how
to keep existing texts and only add a new line to the top?

Yes, you are exactly right. I have already figured it out as well. I did not expect it would be that easy. But thanks a lot anyway for replying on this!
Now I am struggeling with changing SAPLMEGUI in vb scripts for ME22n. Sometimes, there is SAPLMEGUI:0010 and sometimes SAPLMEGUI:0015. Even when the users have the same screens in the beginning the SAPLMEGUI number differs. They also do one item by hand and than it changes. It keeps changing between SAPLMEGUI:0010 and SAPLMEGUI:0015
Is there a way how to have the same number of SAPLMEGUI or how to eliminate this issue?

Dear ABAPer's ,
I am working on a SAP Script for Delivery(Item wise).The requirement is I need a print out for each line item in a delivery.I am using tcode VL71 for taking prinout.
I have modified the routine RVADDN01 according to my requirements.But the problem is i am not able to capture
which line item is selected.Whichever lineitem i select it is giving the details of all the line items.
Am I using the correct routine or someother routine is available for item wise details.
Please clarify.

hi,
 the reboot of a system can be of broadly two types.
1) done by the user
2) abrupt shutdown say due to power failure.
 if you closely look at the file inittab under /etc/ you will find different files are executed for different run levels. For powerfailure also there is a script called powerfail under /etc/init.d/. with different options.
under init.d directory you can find all the scripts for different run levlels starting from rc0-rc6, halt named script , and reboot named script.
. So to solve your problem you can write a script and execute it under this files. Changing all these files are not at all recommended as any mistake can lead to a system halt state. But still we can make the changes if we know what are we doing and definitely you can try if are having a test system with you.
the logic will go something like this:-->
1) for shutdown
 respawn a new shell
 login as <sid>adm
 execute the command i.e stopsap
 exit from that user
same goes for startup also.
now only you have to run this script in the appropriate files at appropriate places(most important).
but the main problem comes when system goes down as sap system takes time to stop so you have to make your OS wait uptill that which may be a tedious task.
. the above discussion was keeping SUSE linux enterprise server in mind.
Please do not make any changes in the above mentioned file if you are running a crucial
system on that OS. try only on a test system.

SAP Screen Personas problem in a script for FS00(G/L Account Display) screen

We are facing a problem when we are developing a simple script for FS00(G/L Account Display) in SAP Screen Personas. Let me give you a brief of the problem:
We have taken two text fields in the dashboard from which the values will be copied and will be pasted in corresponding text fields of G/L Account and Company Code in FS00 TCode.
When we are giving both the values, then script is working fine and it will navigate to the customized Personas screen where all the details are shown.
But when we are leaving any one/both fields blank and execute the script option, then the pop to enter G/L Account/Company Code is coming:
If we are setting the basic FS00 TCode view as default then after the pop-up we are able to enter the respective G/L account number or company code and everything is running fine.
If we are setting our customized personas screen as default screen, then the pop-up keeps on appearing and therefore we are not able to give the inputs (G/L account or company code).
And even if somehow manage to get rid of the error and enter the correct GL account and Company Code then also the details are not displayed. The F4 search help to pick the G/L account number and company code is not working, somehow the Personas screen seems to be locked here.
Please let us know if someone has already encountered this type of situation before and what should be the solution of this.

You could ensure that both of the text fields are not empty on your 'dashboard' before executing the FS00 tcode. This would negate the popup from ever appearing.
To do this you can use the "IF <text field control ID> Is Empty" statement in your script and then output a custom error message to another text box if the condition is true. then use an "IF <text field control ID> Is NOT Empty" statement to copy the value/s execute the FS00 tcode if the condition is true.
Now if you're going to check multiple fields for entries before executing the FS00 you'll have to get a little more creative and do something like I did in one my scripts (thanks again to Steve Rumsby for the tips) and create a 'check field' where you can enter values for items checked successfully and then use a little bit of javascript to count up the checks and check the result before executing the next part of the script.
Another idea is to check for the existence of the popup and navigate past it in your script, to do this you can use the "IF <control ID> control exists" statement.
Either one should work.
