SAP HR team structure

can any one tell me a typical sap implementation team structure, specially for HR and how it works, also how a task is assigned to a consultant. I want to know how it works in real time (how are teams structured and how is a task assigned)
any specific detail is really appreciated
Edited by: Minith on Dec 10, 2010 1:13 AM

Thank you for a great explanation,
SO in general 1 person per module is kind of a standard practice
So assuming this if there are 6000 employees to be worked on then a team of 6-7 consultants should do the work
and if there are 46000 employees then around 10-12. (of course assuming that all 4 basic module and plus 3-4 more are implemented)
I am just guessing this to get a general idea on how it would work
Also how is the work distributed, are there weekly goals and targets, weekly meetings
I just wanted to know a little bit about day to day work affair of a sap hr consultant / analyst
This will give me more idea in general and prepare freshers like me to get ready and familiarize the work system
Hello,
As i told about different stages of ASAP methodology
Stage 1 Project Preparation : Nothing much from the consultants perspective and it will be a short time stage.
Stage 2 Business Blue Print:  In this stage it is not mandatory to have a single consultant for a single module. say OM,PA blueprint is done by 1 consultant. and PY TM is also done by 1 consultant and a lead will be guiding them regularly ( under supervision) and other latest modules like say PD, LSO, EREC can be handled by 1 consultant for blue printing.
Stage 3 Reliazation :  This is the tough phase this needs more consultants but still depends on the agreed deliverable time lines meaning golive date and other parameters.
From the blueprinting stage regular meetings will be there in common with all modules going forward the team lead will take individual progress and dead lines to the respective module consultants. however we should be in sync with all module work and progress.
depending on the work load add on team members may come and go.
hope this helps you.
Good Luck

  • SAP Roles and Access for SAP Implementation team members

    Hi,
Is it correct practice to give SAP_ALL role access for all SAP Implementation team members in Dev and QA?
If not, what is the correct practice?
    Kindly let me know

    Madhu,
It is NOT correct practice to give anyone SAP_ALL in any of the systems; not DEV, not QAS, and certainly not PRD. However, many implementation teams (and particularly consultants from SIs) insist that they cannot possibly do their jobs without it. This is completely incorrect as there are specific roles for them to use for that purpose. The only circumstance where it could be justified is if you require a special "firefighter" role - and even then, I would still be a bit doubtful.
You should also consider that once you have given someone SAP_ALL, they will fight tooth and nail to keep it. It also means that they probably are not testing the user roles correctly. Most of those that insist they need it simply do not understand the security issues and probably don't care.
Just think; if they have access to do soemthing that they shouldn't and then cause a big problem, are they the ones that will have to fix it or are they going to expect you to do it? If they expect you to clear up after them, then you have the right to insist on restricting their access to cause issues in the first place.
But I know just how demanding they can be....
    Best of luck
    Tony

  • Any ideas on restricting userID Role Assigment within the SAP Security Team

    Hello,
I have gotten a request to look into restriction of assignment of roles to oneself within the company SAP Security Team. Thoughts I have come up with so far involve the use of UserID User Groups, Role Assignment Ranges, and forcing all role assignements for all userIDs through GRC-AC CUP for QA and Prod. Has anyone come up with a workable solution that is outside of these suggestions that they have put into practice?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    John

    Hi John,
There can be a manual control in place and individual should not assign role/s to himself / herself.
Otherwise, security team members can be assigned to a specific group (let say Security) and they shouldn't have access to authorization S_USER_GRP with ACTVT 22 & CLASS - Security. There should be a dedicated power user to assign the role/s to the security team members and this can be auditted (SM20 log for manual super user / FireFighter log for FireFighter user).
    Thanks

  • Team Structure

    Hello Masters,
How are the different teams structured in different phases of the Project and what would be the team size in various phases? What are the roles and responsibilities of the teams and the members?
    Thanks in advance.
I am bound to give points
    Thanks and Best wishes,
    I-BI

    Hi
Would it work for you if you use the Team Leader as the Primary owner and the individual assigned the ticket as the "assigned to" ?
Or an alternative might be to investigate the Incident Tier Queue to categorise support groups (the support group field in the incident form). There is no membership as such but it is a way of "grouping" within Service Manager.

  • SAP MMC tree structure disapperas

    Hi All,
Today don't know how my SAP MMC tree structure has disapperaed for my <SID> server.
I tried recreating the services by using sapstartsrv.exe  but it is giving an error:
    Cannot install service.
    CreateService failled: 421
Account name is invalid or password is incorrect.
I reset the password of SAPService<IDS> but still it is giving the same error.
Can any one help me recreating the service so that my tree structure apperas and
    I start my IDS server.
    Thanks & Regards,
    PG

    Hi Nirmail,
I had reset the password of SAPServiceIDS and <SID>adm. By <sid>adm I am able to login as well but the same is not working in case of SAPServiceIDS.
Even when I do services.msc I can't see SAPIDS_00  service. Hence in order to re-create this service I need to run sapstartsrv.exe.But when doing so it is not taking the password of "SAPServiceIDS" giving an error as password incorrect.
Is there some other way to reset the password. I did via Computer Manager>Users>SAPServiceIDS>All task>set password.
Any help would be greately appreciated.

  • MSS within SAP Portal: Organizational Structure

    Hi!
I would like to set up MSS within SAP Portal.
What are the customizing steps to set up the Team, Budget, Projects, Planning?
How to create/map the Organizational Structure?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Jürgen

You just need to use the transaction PPome and see where his position maintained
    on organisation
    And for the spro
Integration with Other mySAP.com Components ->
Business Packages/Functional Packages -> Object and Data Provider
-> Organizational Structure Views -> Group Organizational Structure vie
MSS_LTV_EE (Team: Employee selection): the two organizational
views MSS_LTV_EE_ALL and MSS_LTV_EE_DIR are assigned.
MSS_LEA_EE (Leave Request: Employee Selection) the two
organizational views MSS_LEA_EE_ALL and MSS_LEA_EE_DIR are assigned
These organizational views are defined in IMG step #
    #define Organizational Structure views#:
They have the following Object selections:
    MSS_LTV_EE_ALL:  MSS_LTV_EE_ALL (All Employees)
    MSS_LTV_EE_DIR: MSS_LTV_EE_DIR (Team: Direct Reports)
    MSS_LEA_EE_ALL: MSS_LEA_EE_ALL (All Employees)
MSS_LEA_EE_DIR: MSS_LEA_EE_DIR (Absence: Directly Subordinate Employees)
Then you have to check the IMG step # Object and Data Provider ->
Object Provider -> Define Object selections:
    MSS_LTV_EE_ALL:
Rule for Root Objects: MSS_LTV_RULE1 (Team: Employee's Organizational Un
Rule for Target Objects:  MSS_LTV_RULE2 (All Employees)
    MSS_LTV_EE_DIR:
Rule for Root Objects: MSS_LTV_RULE1 (Team: Employee's Organizational Un
Rule for Target Objects:  MSS_LTV_RULE5 (Team: Employees in an Org. Unit
    MSS_LEA_EE_ALL:
Rule for Root Objects: MSS_LEA_RULE1 (Absence: Employee's Organizational
Rule for Target Objects:  MSS_LEA_RULE2 (All Employees)
    MSS_LEA_EE_DIR:
Rule for Root Objects: MSS_LEA_RULE1 (Absence: Employee's Organizational
Rule for Target Objects:  MSS_LEA_RULE5 (Absence: Employees in Org. Unit
Then you can check the rules for object selection: IMG #Object provider
    define Rules for Object selection
    MSS_LTV_RULE1: evaluation path SAP_MANG
    MSS_LTV_RULE2: SBESX
    MSS_LTV_RULE5:  MSSDIREC
    MSS_LEA_RULE1: SAP_MANG
    MSS_LEA_RULE2: SBESX
    MSS_LEA_RULE5: MSSDIREC
This is meant for Team calendar with respect, But this is more or less same with other views as well

2.goto that Infoobject --> change there check the checkbox Authorization relavent object cahechbox
2.after that U Have to goto RSSM there u have to create authorization object
Ex: Zxxx ( XXX is Infoobject Name ).
    3. In the same transaction Screen u have Infocube selection radio Button check that then select on which cube(cube means under that cube all Quaries) u have to make authorization for that perticuler Infoobject.
4.next goto PFCG create role & save it
5.goto Authorization tab in that selct edit authorization it will give automatiaclly authorization Templates in that u have to select only S_RS_RREPU & press Enter.
    6. Select manual pushbutton it will ask authorisation object enter ur authorization object what u have created ( zxxx) .
    7.click generate +enter
    8. goto user tab Enter userId+enter + click on usercomparision+ enter
    9.save the role.
    FOR HIRARCHIES:
    1. goto RSSM There u have one rediobutton called authorization hierarchy ( this radio button is very below the RSSM screen)
    2. there u have to select Hierachy on which u have to apply authorization.

    Hi Priya,
The Enterprise Structure represents the structure of a company according to personnel administrative, time management and payroll perspectives. The company structure describes elements of the company and there dependencies.
The 'Organizational Units' in SAP, are the elements or structures representing the business functions, and are used in reporting. for example, Client (across the various modules), Company Code (FI), Controlling area (CO), Plant (logistics), sales organization (SD), Purchasing organization (MM), Employee Group (HR) etc.
    Thanks
