SAP LSO - Change Course in portal for Course admin role

Hi Experts,
I am implementing the SAP Leqarning solutions for a cleint.
For the rescheduling process, in the portal , for the Course administrator role, I try to change the course dates and save then changes.
A message "Course changed successfully" appears. Now when i check for the same course id in the backend R/3 , the old dates are still reflecting.
R there any configurations to be done in the R/3 or portal for the same??

Anil,
Check if the logged in portal user (course admin) has the necessary authorizations to change the course.
Check for LSO_PV1A tcode authorization.

Implementing SAP EP as a Central Portal for mulitple R/3 ECC Backends

Hello
We are trying to implement an Incident / Occurrence Management Solution for a Company with 6 different subsidiaries who run their own SAP ECC Backends which are geographically located in different parts of the country.
The idea is to implement a central SAP Enterprise Portal for these different subsidiaries and we would like to know if anyone has done anything similar before. So the idea is that anyone from these 6 different geographically locations can log an incident on the central portal and the data will be then updated on their own divisional ECC Backend.
Currently the SAP ECC Backends are based on ERP2005.
The Company itself has an Central Active Directory solution in place and single sign on could be used for authentication. All the subsidiaries already use the central Active Directory for authentication.
Could anyone please let us know whether they have done something similar or have any reasons why this cannot be done and some potential issues that could arise for implementing a solution like this.
Some potential issues could be:
System aliasing
Network connectivity, bandwidth, availability issues
Patch alignment etc
Would there be other issues that one would consider?

I dont see any issues with such a landscape. You can have content for each of this location based of the systems they access.
As u have said bandwidth, network issues and roles assignment would be concerns as they would be in a single ecc backend connected portal

How to change some partner data for defined partner role?

I need to set another ID and address for partner both in header and positions. Data comes from CRM ISA. I'm using extended BADIs with methods IF_EX_CRM_ISA_BASKET_HEADCHANGEHEAD_BEFORE_ORDER and IF_EX_CRM_ISA_BASKET_ITEMSCHANGEITEMS_BEFORE_ORDER for header and positions. These methods have tables CT_PARTNER and CT_INPUT_FIELDS. CT_PARTNER already has record needed for me (with role '000000002' and given REF_GUID). I need to change PARTNER_NO field with our ID for this record. But if I do this, focuses in ShipTos comboboxes in order.jsp become reseted after any refresh/actualisation of page. Record in CT_INPUT_FIELDS also created and filled properly.
How I can properly change PARTNER_NO field?

How to change the machine name for the admin server?

Hi, I've incorrectly set the machine name for my admin server. I now need to change this, but it's not editable (WLS 10.3.3).
Is there a way to edit configuration files to get it changed?

Seems all I needed to do was edit config/config.xml (under my domain's path) and change the machine name manually (before shutting the admin server down).

LSO Error in Opening BSP for course bookings from portal

Dear Friends,
After configuring the R/3 system for LSO alongwith TEM, when we are opening the e-Learning pages in portal. The page where the participant can book for the course is not displayed. Following error is getting displayed on the page.

i have navigated to the path you told in SICf but i cant find any node under srmsum .
srmsum is the only node, no subnode in it.
I have deactivated and activated srmsum node i can test it success fully in SICF but it does not have default.htm page in SICf but it does in SE80.
And other thing is regarding SAp_BW system that i am useing is the aliase that i have used for system connecting SRm server SA_BW is just the aliase name and nothing have to do with Bi functionality.

SAP LSO- (WBT)Confirm Participation link in course detail page is missing

The end user has finished working on the content and has properly logged off and closed the Content Player.
When he comes to the course detail page in the Learning Portal, he finds that the 'Confirm Participation' link is missing.
Following is the configration that has been set for the Course Type( has the delivery method 0003-WBT)-

SAP security - changing check maintain setting for security objects

I am trying to change the check maintain indicator for a couple of transactions
to alow me to manage access based on security objects that are not currently defined as check maintain. Specifically, I have updated the check indicator
(using SU24) to check maintain for object c_stue_ber on transactions MD11 and MD12 (planned order create/change). The transactions still do not check this object as expected. Does anything else need to be done to enable checking an
object that is not set up as check maintain originally?
Any help is appreciated.

Dear Doug,
An authority check on C_STUE_BER is not possible for the transactions
CO02, CO03, MD11, MD12, CO26, CO27, CO28, COOIS, COHV, CO05, CO05N,
CO04N, COMAC or CO46.
In CO01 we check if the user has the authority to resolve the BOM
(C_STUE_BER). After resolving the BOM we don't check any longer with
C_STUE_BER since we don't work with the BOM but with a component list
in the order (which is actually a copy or the BOM).
For this component list there is no authority check.
The component list is visible in CO02, CO03, CO26, CO27, CO28, COOIS,
COHV, CO05N, CO04N, COMAC, CO46.
For production orders we use authority C_AFKO_AWA. With this
authority you can limit the access to CO02, CO03 and the change of
production orders by other transactions.
But please note that there are still transactions
that will display the orders and its components without authority
checks. For example infosystem transactions (COOIS, COHV, CO26, CO27,
...) and other processing transactions (COGI, ...). For those
transactions you would have to limit access.
For the creation of planned orders MD11, the authority check C_STUE_BER
is not used. Here you can use M_MTDI_ORG to check on a MRP controller.
So you should enter the same MRP controller in the material master
of the troublesome products and only this MRP controller will be able
to create a planned order for this material.
I am sorry not to be able to offer you any better solution for this
problem.

SAP PS: Changing the WBS number for a released project

Hi Gurus,
I am wondering if anyone here knows how to change the WBS number under a project that is released (REL). Until the project is partially released (PREL), the WBS number can be changed, but once it's released, the number is greyed out. Is there a special authorization that could be used to achieve this? I do have authorization to C_PRPS_VNR activity 45, but I believe it's the business transaction (for status REL) that's blocking this number from being changed. A quick answer will be highly appreciated and rewarded.

Custom resource/attribute not visible in FIM portal for non-admins

hi all
I have a problem I am not able to solve and hope somebody can help. We have created an custom Resource in the FIM portal called Customer. It is an User Resource Type and attribute type customer, data type=reference.
We have made this attribute visible in the Users Properties by editing the RCDC for Configuration for User Creation, Configuration for User Editing and Configuration for User Viewing. It is now visible for alle users in the FIM Portal.
But when an non-admin searches for an attribute in that Field, nothing shows up.... only member of the administrator set, are able to display the results.
I have added the Resource to Filter permission - Administrator Filter permission + non-administrator filter permission.
I have added the Resource to MPR - General: Users can read non-administrative configuration resources?
Can anyone help?

To be clear,
You have create one new resource type 'Customer' and one attribute 'Customer' (Reference, binded to Person object)
Update RCDC for Person (create/edit/view) to add a picker attribute with those parameters
UsageKeywords: This is an optional string property. You can define a list of search scopes to be used in the Resource Picker by providing a list of the usage keywords that are supported by the SearchScopeConfiguration structure, where each keyword is separated by a (‘).
ResultObjectType: This is an optional string property. The resource type is used to render resources in the pop-up dialog-box list. This is used with the Filter to help the Identity Picker identify what resource type is returned by the Filter, and render the data accordingly. This property is mutually exclusive with the UsageKeywords property (see above). When the search scope is applied, this has no effect. The string that is accepted for this property is any single, valid, resource-type name, for example, Person. When the filter is expected to return multiple resource types, Resource is used.
Modify MPR "User management: Users can read attributes of their own" and "User management: Users can read selected attributes of other users" to add this new attribute
Create a new MPR to give the right of all users to view new resource 'Customer' on all attributes
Is that right?

Powershell access for non-admin roles?

Hi. I can't find any information regarding this, but to what roles is PowerShell access to VMM restricted?
I have a selfservice user (member of a created role that is of type "Self-Service user") that is assigned some VMs in a cloud. This user can access his VMs via VMM console just fine, but we need him to be able to also use VMM PowerShell cmdlets
against his VMs.
When I try to access VMM (for example using Get-SCVMMServer or Get-SCVirtualMachine cmdlets), I get an access denied error (ID 1604).
Is access via PSH restricted to the "Administrator" profile type? If so, can this be altered?

Nevermind, this was a second-hop authentication issue. I was issuing the commands against a management server (not the VMM server) with VMM console installed.
I modified the script so it contacts the VMM server directly. Alternately, I could configure the computers involved for 2nd hop authentication using CredSSP (http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2012/11/14/enable-powershell-quot-second-hop-quot-functionality-with-credssp.aspx)

Doubt With Services in The portal for other modules of SAP

I don't know if this doubt I should post in the forum ERP Employee Self-Service .
In The portal SAP have service for E-Recruiting(E-RC), Employee Self-Service(ESS), Manager Self-Service(MSS), Learning Solution(LSO), that are services of HCM.
My question is : SAP have solutions in the portal for the following components:
Materials Management (SAP-MM), SAP-FI , and other components of ERP in the portal?

Currently there are 2 ways to do this.
1. with URL iViews
These iViews have the "Language specific URLs"-Option. There you can specify which html file schould be displayed depending on the language.
But this works only for html files.
This would work fine together with the things i explained above.
2.switch between different anonymous user
This is a little bit tricky. You need an application, that is able to switch between different user. For example: Switching from user german to user english.
In this case you would have to assign the language specific contents to these users.Here is a blog that describes how to implement this application.

Can I use SAP HR to drive ESS Portal user creation?

We are implementing a new instance of SAP HR and Portal for ESS and MSS and I am not sure of all the steps that need to be completed so any guidance / tips would be greatly appreciated.
Company currently has an LDAP - but not used extensively. Not all employees currently in LDAP as not all have network ids. All employees will have a SAP account to enable ESS (via Kiosks etc). ESS iViews in Portal will call SAP HR and possibly SAP BW. We have an instance of SAP already and user admin maintained via CUA - this will continue.
Scenario:
My initial thoughts are that we try to use SAP HR as the leading system to drive the ESS Portal users and access. Basically I want to create the user in SAP and assign them an ESS SAP role... then through syncronization have the user created in the Portal and have the correct ESS Portal assigned (in the Portal)
My thinking so far is to go the following way;
1) Create User Master Record in SAP (SU01)
2) Hire employee into the org structure (via HR processes)
3) Populate Infotype 0105 with SAP username
4) Populate Infortype 1016 - with SAP role to be assigned to allow ESS access (not sure about this aspect) or role could be assigned in 1) above
I am not sure of the next steps - I think there must be a way in an SAP table to map the ESS SAP role to the ESS Portal Role (is this via WP3R?)
then I am hoping that a standard job can be run (is this RSLDAPSYNC_USER) that will create the user in the Portal (UME?) and assign the correct Portal role ?
(obviously configuration needed)
For MSS and HR Power users - we would continue to assign SAP roles via SU01.
Can anyone assist with;
- Is my thinking correct in terms of how this should / could work?
- in SAP how can I map SAP Roles to Portal Roles ?
- will syncronization in SAP create the user in Portal and assign the role ? what do I need to configure?

I just dont know if this can throw some light on your prob.'
In our Orgn we had around 250 ess users and 200 sapr/3 users. Some of the r/3 users also logon to ess via their r/3 uname and password.
What we have done is like follows:
1. Created a role for only the ess users ZHRESS. For this i asked the HR functional people with sap_all profile to do all the job which the ESS users are supposed to do and tracer the authorization via tcode st01. We created the role on the basis of this trace report.
2. For the purely ESS users we created the users via tcode HRUSER and assigned then with the above role.
3. For the R/3 users who are supposed to avail the ess facility we assigned them with the role ZHRESS role in addition to the other roles assigned to them to carry out their normal R/3 transactions. Then we mapped their R/3 uname to their employee no via PA30 infotype 105.
4. Tcode HRUSER saved time which would have consumed had we done it via su01 and moreover it picked Name etc data from the HR master table. In HRUSER tcode , setting the user attributes helps to define what roles the users are to be assigned, what should be their initial password etc.

SAP LSO: Validation of system (Pharma Industrie)

I am currently implementing SAP LSO within a global template for a Pharma company. They want to validate the LSO part, but not the global template (PA, OM, etc.). Does anyone know if it would be acceptable from a validation perspective if we have LSO on a different system (validated) and connected via ALE to Core SAP HCM (not validated)? Does Core SAP HCM need to be then validated as well?

We are also in the process of validating LSO for compliance perspective. Our HR department is working with outside FDA compliance consultants and the direction we have got so far is , we need to only validate LMS, not core HR.
But, it is always a good idea to check with FDA consultants before going ahead.

Learning Portal for SAP LSO

Hi,
We are implementing SAP Learning Solutions in our org.
According to the information i read in the forum, apart from the R/3, Learning Portal is used on EP.
My understanding is :
The Learnign Portal is the entry point for Learners in SAP LSO. And one has to call the BSP application "HCM_LEARNING" from EP through a BSP iView and it will call the Learning Portal of LSO.
This learnig portal has features like,
Searching the course catalog, Book/cancel course participation etc.
is my understanding correct ?
I also want to know Is there any Web Dynpro for ABAP component also involved in Learning Portal or the BSP application HCM_LEARNING itself takes care of all the functionalities.
Please help.

Difference: SAP Learning Solution - Training and Event Manag
All of the settings required for the SAP Learning Solution are contained under SAP Learning Solution in the sections Training Management and Learning Portal and Authoring Environment.
The activities in the sections that follow do not apply to the SAP Learning Solution, but to Training and Event Management
LSO contains many additional functionalities and the portal is based on BSP Application.
In Authoring Environment, you can create course content or import the SCORM based contents in the same for playing in the content player. You have the options of offline player etc.
Customize the followup functions.
There is no Webdynpro involved in the learning portal however in EHP4 and above, the webdynpro is used in the
administrator portal and instructor portal and there are many new functionalities being added in EHP4 and above which is the latest developments.
Learning portals in all the releases is based on BSP Application HCM_LEARNING.
Below releases, you can have the ESS integrated via PV7i and PV8i.
