  • Inventory Management (production company) - how do you do it?

    Hi Experts
We need a tool (report) which can help controlling the inventory (for a production company) and thereby support the persons who order materials etc. so that they know what materials to order and how much to order etc. The tool should be able to give ex recommendation on which materials to order based on the avg. movements in the stock and current demand.
The goal is to support the people who orders materials to have more acurate stock levels and thereby avoid running out a stock and having to much stock.
In that relation I have two questions:
    1. Do you know any business content report/flow which can be activated for a purpose like this?
    2. Have you got any experience in inventory management for production companies? In case you have please let me know about the solution you implemented/know about.
Thanks a lot and kind regards,
    Torben

    Pedersen,
    1. Do you know any business content report/flow which can be activated for a purpose like this?
--> Yes, Standard business content available for Inventory management for reporting purpose.
[BI Content - Inventory Management |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/06/8c6cfe0e67fd43a6cd3603d246ced7/frameset.htm]
    2. Have you got any experience in inventory management for production companies? In case you have please let me know about the solution you implemented/know about.
--> Based on above content we can check stock levels, moments(receipts & issues) and also slow moving.
--> But these content purely for repoting purpose only. How you want to build data on top of this...? and how you want to pass same information to raise an order...?

  • What is difference between SAP R3 And SAP IS Mills Product

    HI Friends
What is difference between SAP R3 And SAP IS Mills Product
What are the futures are availables in IS MIlls
    Regards

    Hi,
SAP R/3 is the central enterprise version. It is not specifically designed for any inducstry sectors and it can cater many of the industry types.
Is is developed for specific industries an for SMB's (small and medium business). It will have components specifically for the industry.
The SAP Mill Products component adds sector-specific functionality to an ERP system to satisfy the complex requirements of mill industries (e.g. metal, wood, paper, textiles, construction materials, and cable sectors).
These industry segments differ from others primarily in that the materials used have a large number of characteristics and variants. The materials in the segments listed above are also predominantly area-based (e.g. paper, textiles, plastic film) or length-based (e.g. cables, piping). Account must be taken of these material characteristics throughout the entire supply chain.
To cater for the particularities of these industry segments, SAP Mill Products features processes and functions that cover the entire supply-chain cycle – from product design and configuration, through planning, order processing, capacity planning and production, to final delivery. Additional functions are available in costing and inventory management. SAP Mill Products are also integrated into Quality Management, Financial Accounting, and Controlling.

  • Difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft

    Hi Experts ,
Can anyone tell me the difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft ?
    Best Regards,
    SK

SAP  Netweaver Gateway 2.0 is a product for Exposing ERP data as OData for external consumption which is independent of any Microsoft product. Using this you can model OData services and Expose them for light weight consumption. You can use this in use cases where  you just want to consume the OData in some client or so, and you do not want any kind of accelerators to help you in development or in your integration.
GWPAM is an interoperability framework from SAP that leverages SAP NetWeaver Gateway and Microsoft technologies enabling customers and partners to easily and quickly compose solutions that consume and extend SAP throughout Microsoft technologies for on premise and on demand deployment. With GWPAM you get components like
GWPAM Visual Studio Add-On,GWPAM Template,GWPAM Project,GWPAM Outlook Add-In which are very much Microsoft specific.

  • Help on applying Workflow Relevant SAP Notes in Production

In the context of event generation for system and user status, the system no longer generates the event)
    2. SAP Note-0001946643
    Sympton-
The following runtime error occurs in your system:
    Category ABAP Programming Error
    Runtime Errors OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
    Except. CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
    ABAP Program CL_SWF_RUN_WIM_LOCAL==========CP
    Application Component  BC-BMT-WFM
The problem occurs only if you use an API to start a new work item within the execution of another work item. Additionally, you use an ABAP OO methods in the work item task.
    3. SAP Note-0001935328

  • Please only post SAP Business Objects products related questions here

    Hi
    Thanks for reading.
Unfortunately many people get confused with the term BI which was used for SAP BW at one time. With the acquisition of Business Objects some product names have changed.
SAP BW is still SAP BW, please post in the respective forums: /community [original link is broken]
Business Intelligence in this forum refers to the these SAP Business Objects products:
    SAP Business Objects Enterprise
    SAP Business Objects 4.0
SAP Business Objects Intelligence Platform 4.0

    Hi Suresh
Thank you for the detailed response.  I tried your suggestions and neither works.
    LOV issue:
Within the Business View manager, i right-click on the LOV object and click "Edit List of Values..." and i get a dialog box that only shows me Available fields, List of Value Fields used, description field, and Referenced objects. Along with buttons for Clear Instance & Refersh Status.
I have read similar posts to what you suggested but never get to the same place as described.
    Please advise....
as for _Max Number LOV _
I have researched this as well and found the same suggestion you made. But the PRM file does not have that value, and the file contains all XML code
    Now what???
    Thanks

  • SAP AII for production process

    Hello,
I'm an ABAP programmer but I have to find some information (integration scenario example) about using RFID for managing a production process with SAP.
    I found only for SCM:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_autoid40/helpdata/en/43/ec3b1c601f6bf1e10000000a11466f/content.htm
Is it posible to manage a production process with SAP's  AII <-> XI <-> ERP like it can be done for SCM?
    Thanks.
    Traian

    Hi Mustata,
Yes it is very much possible to RFID enable the SAP R/3 Production process.
AII 4.0 supported out of the box execution of Outbound delivery process and Inbound Delivery process.
The configuration guide for same are available at this link http://service.sap.com/scm
you can get the config guide in detailed information of RFID under SCM.
Now answer to your question SAP AII for production process.
AII 5.1 supports creation on new document in AII. Also the documents from backend system SAP R/3 sent to AII via XI with the help of standard document interface.
The documents related to production process can be then executed in AII with the help of RFID and after document execution in AII, if required, the document data can be sent to SAP R/3 for completion of the document in backend system.
Hope this answers your query. Do read the configuration guides.
If same process needs to be done in AII 4.0 then customisation will be need to implement the production process integration.
    Thanks and regards,
    Amit Deshpande

  • New mac pro (2014) specs for production company help

Hey guys new to the forum!
I work for a production company that makes mainly online corporate video and motion graphics, lots of character animation, typography pieces and bits and pieces of 3D work with cinema 4d r14. We currently work on 2009 mac workstations which have the following specs:
    Model Name:          Mac Pro
    Model Identifier:          MacPro3,1
    Processor Name:          Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed:          3.2 GHz
    Number Of Processors:          2
    Total Number Of Cores:          8
L2 Cache (per processor):          12 MB
    Memory:          16 GB
    Bus Speed:          1.6 GHz
Chipset Model:          ATI Radeon HD 2600
I've been asked to get some specs because we plan on buying the new mac pro and I have been reading some articles regarding performance with After Effects but in all honesty i really don't understand what sort of specs i need because i'm good at designing and animating but it when it comes to CPU, GPU talk it's all very confusing!
My boss wants faster previews, faster render times and an all round better performance than what we have now, and with the possibility of outputting 4K in the near future i have to bear that in mind as well.
If you guys could give me a helping hand choosing a new mac pro i would be eternally grateful!
    Thanks,
    Mark

The new Mac Pros are, without a doubt, amazing machines. But are they value for money?
A significant cost in these machines is the high end AMD GPUs, which is utilised very well by Apple in their own software like Final Cut Pro X, Compressor and Motion.  If you use those a lot, it's a no brainer. Place your order.
Premiere Pro CC has  support for the GPUs (one GPU during playback, but can utilise both during renders.)
There has been no pledge from Adobe for After Effects support. AE's ray-traced 3D render engine has been virtually abandoned by Adobe, so there will never be support for AMD CPUs for it. They are now more focussed on integration with Maxxon's Cinema 4D as a 3D alternative, but Cinema 4D exclusively renders with the CPU – no GPU benefit.
The AE team are hinting about substantial multi-processing enhancements in the next major update, so it seems After Effects users will continue to be better off with faster multi-core CPUs, rather than expensive GPUs. With more CPU cores comes the need for more RAM.
Some third party vendors of AE plugins, like VideoCopilot's Element 3D and Optical Flares, have pledged support for the Mac Pro GPUs. But the problem with intertwining CPU-dependent software with GPU-dependent plugins is you need to turn off multi-processing to get the best results, negating the value of your powerful Mac Pro CPU.
Photoshop and Indesign rarely need the balls of a machine like the new Mac Pro. The new high-speed SSDs will certainly make them run faster than your average iMac, but it's not a HUGE leap for the cost difference.
The benchmarks I've seen on media encoding for the new Mac Pros are a little underwhelming, to be honest. They're fast, yes, but not twice as fast as a $4000 iMac, despite a high-end machine being twice (or more) expensive.
So, as a primarily Adobe user, I'm a bit torn. Personally, I think my money will be better spent buying a high-spec iMac for now. I can always on-sell it in 6 months if Adobe prove they are really coming to the party with Mac Pro support. But right now I'm not seeing proof of the benefits (from Adobe) in buying a $6K+ machine.
If you are determined to buy the new Mac Pro, and After Effects and C4D are your primary tools, get the most powerful CPU you can afford, make sure you have at least 3-4GB of RAM for each CPU, and keep the lowest-specced GPUs.

  • I was watching a episode of OCC and they showed the office where the production company does editing and administration

I was watching a episode of OCC and they showed the office where the production company does editing and administration.
I noticed that they were using software that allow them to use Date/Time stamp from the recording to edit multiple tracks of video. Not only that, but it seemed as though each track was being view in separate monitors.
OK... I know I'm pushing this one; but, does PE7 have any of these capabilities(IE. date/time stamp)?
I was seeking a quicker way to sync multiple tracks. The use of the audio on timeline is good, but there's got to be a better way.
Or does Adobe product another product that will do it all(IE, CS3)?
I really don't have it in budget to purchase another $1500 software package.

There is a 3rd party program, DVDate, that might be able to extract that data and display it.
Both PrPro and AfterEffects can add the runtime counter, but that is not quite the same as the date/time stamp.
As for multiple Source Monitors for multi-cam Projects, PrPro has that feature. The display on multiple "physical" monitors depends on one's video card, and also on video feeds via FireWire to a TV, but the feed to a TV will be only the Program Monitor Panel, not the multiple Source Monitors.
There are probably more people, who want to find a way to remove date/time stamps, that have been turned on in the camera. Nowadays, it's not quite like the old character-generator data, that appeared on many VHS camcorders, and also still cameras.
Good luck, and depending on your camera's metadata, DVDate might do part of what you want.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

Check in tcode MD62 whether you have any demand for that material which you are getting PRs first delete requirement here/
Then run MRP by tcode MD03 or MD02 giving input of material and plant. In the initial screen of MD03 / MD02, make field planning mode - Delete and recreate planning data

If yes remove the Firm indicator and Re run the MRP with planning Mode 3.
It removes the PR from EBAN.

I want to change SAP Logo with my Company Logo. For this I gone through SMW0 , SM30 and I have modified the table SAP_Cust but I didn't get it. So kindly give a detailed Solution for me

    Hi Adhi,
You can do it using following steps:
Step 1: Open the BSP application THTMLB_STYLES in the ABAP workbench SE80.
Open the folders MIMES->sap_skins->styling->Ishape in the same order.
Step 2: You will find an image 'logo.png' in the folder Ishape.
Open the context menu (using right-click mouse button) and select 'Update and Replace'. Select your company GIF or JPG image file from your local folder in your PC.
    I hope this helps.
