SAP OS Login IDs

Hi All,
As we know that before install SAP we are creating two OS login ID
<sapsid>adm and SAPService<SAPSID> . My question is what is the users id or  difference between thesen  two user id.
Thanks
Krushna

in windows <sid>adm is R/3 administration user which is used to log in to system and he has all administration rights to create or modify the folder
SApservice<sid> is a service user which canot be used to loginto the system but he has certain authorisations to start the services such as sap<SID>_<nr>

  • How to access Sap portal login user in ejb web service

    Hi,
    I wnt to access SAP Portal login user in my ejb application which resides on the same server.
    I am using following code
    try {
         IUser user =null;                         IWDClientUser wdUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
                                  user = wdUser.getSAPUser();
                             } catch (WDUMException e) {
                                  // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                                  e.printStackTrace();
    Some additional jar files are required for this?
    The same code works fine with webDynpro but not with ejb.
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for reply.

  • How to disable right click on SAP portal login page

    Hi,
    How to disable right click on SAP portal login page. Our requirement is one should not be able to right click -
    >view source. on the portal login page.
    Best Regars,
    Tushar

    Hi Tchanvan,
    If you search google with "javascript disable right click" you will get loads of javascript code. This will also help you to gain knowledge.
    @Explanation to last post : You need to import standard logon par file in NWDS. Create javascript file to disable right click and then include this file in your logon page. i think login page name is portalLogin.jsp and then deploy this new PAR file.

  • Ref cursor returns login ids

    I have this ref cursor that returns login ids from a procedure.
    While I can define the ref cursor as sys_refcursor; I want to use strongly typed ref cursor ( for improved readabilty of code).
    But I guess I can not define the cursor that returns %type.
    e.g. Type return_login_id IS REF CURSOR return tab1.login_id%type;
    On compilation the package threw an error saying the return type should be record.
    I need to define a record with one column and use that as return type ?
    any other way around ?
    TIA
    S

    Btw, why you need to use REF Cursor?
    You can use just a cursor:
    SQL> declare
      2  cursor c1 is select empid from emp;
      3  TYPE my_id IS TABLE OF emp.empid%type;
      4  myid my_id := my_id();
      5  BEGIN
      6  OPEN c1;
      7  FETCH c1 BULK COLLECT INTO myid;
      8  CLOSE c1;
      9  END;
    10  /
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

  • Best practice to change SAP BW login parameters after Universe migration

    Hello All,
    I am working with SAP BW and BOBJ XI 3.1.
    And we are using "Use specified username and password" Authentication mode when we are establishing the connection to SAP BW. At present after migrating the Universe let's say from Dev to Test, We are logging in to the Universe in the Test environment and modifying the connection parameters to point the Universe to Test BW system.
    By default when we migrate the Universe it's still pointingg to BW Dev system.
    My question is when we use "Use specified username and password" Authentication mode, what's the best way to change the connection parameters.
    I would greatly appreciate your input.
    Thanks
    Padma

    Ingo,
    Thanks a lot for your response.
    At present we are using the standard import wizard.
    You think the LifeCycle Management has the option to change the login information during the migration??
    Very soon we will be evaluating the tool.
    Thanks
    Padma

    Hello,
    I`m trying to make a matchcode on the field STORE in the first login dynpro in SAP RETAIL, anybody can help me?

    Sorry, at least, we couldn't do this because in this dynpro you aren't connected to SAP yet. We make a link to a program that shows you like a matchcode, but in another dynpro.

  • SAP B1 Login took so long...

    hi to all. just a newbie here. we're currently running SAP B1 at IBM x3400 in Windows Server 2003.  We're using MSSQL 2005 Standard.
    we had a problem in login time in SAP B1. it took 2 minutes to successfully login in a certain database.
    Hope you have inputs or guides in solving this problem.
    thanks to all...

    Due to many problems,login to system takes much time such as :-
    1) It will be first time u will be login into fresh system.
    2)Sufficient Dialog work process are not availabe at that moment when u try to login.
    3)All the post installation steps are not performed.
    4)Communication between db & SAP is not properly maintained.
    The above mentioned are the basic issues,due to any one of the above problem system takes time to login,for the first time it will take some time to login,after that when ever u try to login it should take fraction of seconds,then we can say that system is well and good,for the 2nd time when u try to login it collects information from buffer and logins immediately,if it is not the case then some performance issue is be performed in the system.

  • Hi SAP Remote Login

    Hi all,
    I am getting training in SAP ABAP and in the training institute there is SAP software, is it possible for me to login to the SAP software by Remote Login.. What are the steps I need to follow?.  I asked my instructor about the Remote Login facility and he said he dont know how to connect to the SAP software.  Let me know how I can connect the SAP software which is in my institute to have a Remote Login and study from home.  Also, the training institute is not very big organisation, its a small place giving training to about 10 students at any given time..So how can I achieve Remote Login in this case??
    What are the steps that I need to follow in order to access the software.
    Please reply me as soon as possible.

    Hi Ashok,
    <b>Please reward and close your previous post with the title 'Hi SAP Installation ??????'.</b>
    I am assuming this is the same question as that one. you need to install SAPGUI on your laptop/computer-at-home. You then need the 'saplogon.ini' file from your company's windows directory and put that in your windows directory.
    Above all, you need network access to your company from your home. Ask your network administrator about how you can achieve that.

    [Microsoft][SQL Native Client]An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.
    When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.

    What are the remote program you are using ? is it VPN, Citrix or Terminal Service ?
    SAP B1 supports only citrix or terminal service.

  • SSO to Non-SAP using login-tickets

    Hi all,
    I'd like to set up an SSO connection to a non-SAP HTTP system by using the SSO web filter (iis_sso.dll) on IIS 5.0.
    I've created an iView (using the application integrator) with the URL template : http://<ip-address-host>:82/reqvars.asp?<Authentication> in which <Authentication> is MYSAPSSO2=<Request.SSO2Ticket>. The reqvar.asp page comes with the web filter as an example and displays all HTTP header fields. That way you can check whether the user-ID has been extracted successfully from the SAP logon ticket. However, I fail to get any value into the REMOTE_USER variable. The ISAPI filter (iss_sso) has been installed (global) successfully.
    I'm using the following settings in the verify.properties files:
    remote_user_alias = REMOTE_USER
    pse_file = C:\SSOFilter\verify.pse
    application = portal
    log_file = C:\SSOFilter\filter.log
    log_level = 3
    Remark: in the original example the remote_user_alias is set to REMOTE-USER: However, I feel this is wrong since the actual variable is REMOTE_USER. Also I have seen this one in another forum post as being a working properties file. Or should I use original value?
    No entries are being written to the log so I believe nothing is happening at all.
    The SSOFilter folder contains the following files:
    iis_sso.dll
    sapsecu.dll
    sapsecu.lib
    verify.properties
    verify.pse
    mfc71.dll, mfc71u.dll, msvcp71.dll, msvcr71.dll and sapsecin.exe
    This folder also has been added to the environmental PATH variable.
    Any suggestions would be highly appreciated (and rewarded ,
    Frodo

    Hi,
    I dont have much info related but i can giv u hint
    refer OSS Notes 442401 and 723896.
    When using SAP logon tickets for non-SAP applications, two different implementation options are available. The difference lies in where the ticket verification takes place.
    In the first case,  the SAP logon ticket is submitted to the web server filter located on the web server. The web server filter verifies the portal serveru2019s public key
    certificate using its local Personal Security Environment (PSE) and then populates the HTTP header field with the user ID for SSO to the non-sap web application.
    In the second case,  the SAP logon ticket is sent to the non-SAP application, which then verifies it using the ticket verification DLL and submits the user ID to the application for SSO.

  • SAP CRM - Login issue

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing an issue when logging into CRM Web UI.
    The login screen prompts for login credentials. But my issue is sometimes the login is prompted via a pop-up and some other times I can directly login by giving the credentials as input to the username and password fields. I do not want the login to happen via the pop-up.
    Another issue that I have noticed is on the Web IC screen, when in the middle of a transaction, suddenly a pop-up arises asking for the login details and when entering the credentials it keeps popping up.
    These issues keeps happening and I have checked all possible configurations as to what could be causing this issue but everything seems to be fine. I am unable to trace the cause of this issue.
    Can someone help me with this issue and what could be the possible solution for this.
    Regards,
    Preeti

    hello experts:
    found the solution myslef. But would need some input.
    Campaign was getting determined at subitem level. ATP is from APO.
    I would need ideas for this:
    Campaigns determined at subitem level should be able to be added to the main item level. So we dont have quantities at different levels (confirmed, non-confirmed).
    I am thinking of these:
    1) Forcing the item level quantities to be able to added to the main item level. - Badi enhancement
    2) Maintaining seperate order types for different discount types. - I think this would be a problem in future during reporting.
    3) Set for complete delivery - no confirmed quantities- wouldnt work business wise.
    any more inputs with out needing an enhancement...please let me know.

  • SAP B1 login problem

    Hi All,
    Whenever I am trying to log in to company database, getting the following error
    "You can not upgrade company databases from an SAP Business One client. Use the upgrade wizard in the download package, or contact your partner.
    Regards,

    Hi Rupa..........
    Once you install SAP 8.8 You must upgrade it once while using Upgrade Wizard.
    If you have SAP 8.8 PL setup then you find the Wizard folder came along with SAP Setup.......
    This will solve your problem.......
